What a totally amazing career and guest we proudly present on this week's Rick Flynn Presents worldwide podcast as we roll out the red carpet, direct from "Music City USA" Nashville, TN. Does this woman qualify for her own unique version of "Confessions of a Show Biz Kid?" Well, let's see. ..Pam Lewis co-managed an unknown Oklahoma crooner during his rise to superstardom, handling his career from 1987 until they parted ways in 1994. She and her former business partner, Bob Doyle, formed Doyle/Lewis Management and took on the then-unknown Oklahoma singer as their first client. Together, they guided the singer to unprecedented global success. Following their split in 1994, she transitioned to focusing on her PR and marketing firm, PLA Media. Will she be back on our show? Listen to this fascinating production and then judge for yourself. In the meantime, you're welcome to contact Pam at www.PLAmedia.com.

Send us Fan Mail“Emergency” sounds like a buzzword until Knots Landing makes it literal, and we are not ready for how fast everything flips. We break down Season 4 Episode 10 with a full recap that starts in familiar soap territory, hurt feelings, ego, and a marriage strain you can see from a mile away, then slams into a medical crisis that turns the whole cul-de-sac upside down. First, we talk through Ginger trying to be seen as more than “the one at home with the baby.” She brings Kenny a brand-new piece of music she helped create, only to watch him dismiss it until it becomes useful for CG's career. The tension boils over at Daniel's when CG performs the song live, Ginger realizes what happened, and the night turns into a confrontation about credit, boundaries, and what Kenny is really investing his time in. Then the true emergency hits: Diana collapses during a trip with Gary and Abby and ends up in the hospital as the doctors reveal worsening symptoms, kidney failure, and the reality of dialysis and transplant options. We dig into the family dynamics as Karen tries to keep it together, Abby gets iced out when she wants to help, and Mac unexpectedly steps up when the kids need an adult to lean on. The ending lands with a brutal question and a door-knock that changes everything: Karen needs Abby's kidney. If you love Knots Landing recap podcasts, 1980s TV drama, and character-driven soap opera analysis, hit play, then subscribe, share with a fellow fan, and leave a review. What would you do if your family asked you for a kidney?

Croon•er (n) ['kru:nər]: a singer, particularly a male one, who sings sentimental songs in a soft, low voice. Decades before Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, or Uncle Gregg captured the hearts, imaginations, and undergarments of a swooning audience, crooners ruled the earth. The term typically conjures up golden throated singers like Bing Crosby, Nat "King" Cole, Tony Bennett, and Mel Torme interpreting the timeless songs of Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin. But one crooner reigned supreme: Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. He was "The Voice," possessing an instrument of rare, pure, crystalline perfection, with a phrasing, tone, and ability to charge every word with such emotion that you can palpably sense his audience getting weak in the knees. Never has Sinatra's legendary 1940s performing career sounded as immaculately and pristinely alive as it does on the SING label's recent archival projects: At the Hollywood Bowl 1943-48; Christmas on the Air; and the 5-LP box set Long Ago, Far Away, all lovingly restored and mastered by an award winning team and featuring exquisitely detailed liner notes by no greater authority than record producer, historian, archivist, author of the acclaimed Sessions with Sinatra, and host of the weekly radio show Sinatra Standard Time, Chuck Granata. We are fortunate to have Chuck join us this week to chat about all things Sinatra: the innovative new sets, his important role in pop music's breakthrough, his classic and most underrated albums, and the use of AI for good. And, of course, because O3L is focused on classic alternative music, our lists cover some of our favorite singers who carried on crooning into the '70s, '80s & '90s. Learn more about your ad choices. Fun facts about music legends Bing Crosby and Faron Young.
Brandon Commodore (drummer, composer) joins Jazz88's host, Patty Peterson, to talk about the release of his debut EP of original music called "This Is 40". Starting in the music business at 19, he now reflects on how at this age, the music comes from a deeper place and he hears it in his composing. Known for his work with Sounds Of Blackness, Mint Condition, and NPG, he also talks about an upcoming release "This Is 40" concert at Crooners Supper Club on June 5th, and the special guests he has joining him.

Could this be peak Frank? Sinatra at the Sands captures the energy, the cool, and the incredible voice that made this crooner so iconic. Backed by the Count Basie Orchestra with arrangements by a young Quincy Jones, this live album still swings 60 years later!Sinatra at the Sands was recorded at a moment when Sinatra was emerging from a slump. Rock and roll dominated the airwaves, the Beatles were redefining popular music and crooning just wasn't cool anymore. But this album, recorded live in Vegas, shows a 50-year-old Frank sounding loose, confident, and completely at home in front of a band that swings like nothing else.
