In Romans 5:12-21, Paul answers the question, "How can the obedience of one Man justify the multitudes of sinners who place their faith in them?" And his inspired answer was that since the guilt and sin of one man, Adam, was imputed to all his descendants (over whom he is head), then the righteousness of one Man, Christ Jesus, can be imputed to all that come under His headship by faith. The doctrines of original sin, human depravity, and imputation are difficult, but clear in Scripture and clearly foundational to the gospel. And understanding that sinners are condemned as sinners because of the sin of another (Adam) but can be received as righteous because of the works of another (Christ) is key to our gratitude, praise and security in Christ. Did Christina of Denmark really tell Henry VIII, "If I had two heads, one would be at His Majesty's disposal"?It's one of the most famous quotations associated with Henry VIII's search for a fourth wife. Christina, the young widowed Duchess of Milan, was considered as a possible bride for the Tudor king in 1538, and the story goes that she responded to Henry's interest with this wonderfully cutting remark.But did she actually say it?This question came up in the comments on my recent video about Henry VIII and Anne of Cleves, when someone claimed that the famous quotation first appeared in Martin Hume's 1905 book, The Wives of Henry VIII.I knew I'd seen it earlier than that, so I went down a historical rabbit hole to see just how far back I could trace it.In this video, I follow the quotation through nineteenth-century histories to a fascinating seventeenth-century account by German artist and art historian Joachim von Sandrart, who had actually seen Hans Holbein the Younger's famous portrait of Christina in England.But Sandrart's version isn't quite the quotation we know today.I also look at the contemporary diplomatic evidence surrounding Henry's proposed marriage to Christina, including what Thomas Wriothesley reported about Christina's attitude towards the match, and a wonderfully dry comment made by Christina's aunt, Mary of Hungary, about Henry VIII's treatment of his wives.So, did Christina of Denmark really make the famous "two heads" remark? Og netop som vi tror, aftenen er faldet til ro, kører Ask videobussen direkte ud over afgrunden med det ubestridelige mesterværk 'The Thing with Two Heads' (1972). Aldrig har en titel løjet så lidt. The Ghastly Ones (1968), The Man with Two Heads (1972), and Carnage (1984) There are not many filmmakers like Andy Milligan. Sure, there were a lot of no-budget independents during Milligan's era that somehow got their finished pictures to play theaters and released on home video. But there weren't many whose real life was almost as terrifying as the films they made. But Andy Milligan would fit neatly into that category. Making over 30 pictures in almost 25 years, with some of the most outrageous and memorable titles, he still remains very close to obscurity. But he does have some fans out there. In fact, in September of 2021, Severin Films released The Dungeon of Andy Milligan, a box set that included over a dozen of his films, packed with extras. As that set has lived on fan's shelves for a while now, it seemed a good time to take a look into this strange filmmaker and three of his films. But a warning... his films are not for everyone. Some quirky critics refer to them as high school stage plays that were filmed. They can be mean. Talky. Bizarre camerawork. And pretty shoddy makeup. Nonetheless, they still have a charm to them… to some fans, at least. So take your next steps with caution, and as the saying goes, "Well... we warned you." She is senior rabbi of Central Synagogue in New York City. She's the first woman to lead Central's Reform congregation in its 180-year history. She first joined Central Synagogue as senior cantor in 2006, and she was chosen by the congregation to be senior rabbi in 2014. Two severed heads, an arm here, a leg there, on this episode of Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan, the Reel Amityville Horror will meet the Real Amityville Horror.  A group of Long Island High School students find a severed left arm on the side of a road in Babylon on their way to school. While Police investigate the scene, a K-9 officer locates a leg sticking out of a pile of leaves in a wooded area, not far from the original scene. Over time more body parts were found in multiple areas.
