Coffee with Samso Episode 204 is all about Lupins and Lupin Protein Isolate. Coupled with the favourable growing climate in Western Australia, Wide Open Agriculture Limited (ASX:WOA) could become a major player in a billion-dollar market. The Wide Open Agriculture came across my screen about two weeks ago, and it caught my attention because I was doing content on superfoods and came across the benefits of lupins in 2019. While I was doing research over time, the share price of the company started to move, and in fact, on the day I was talking to Yazi Zhan, the Non Executive Chair of WOA, about making an appearance on Coffee with Samso, she was in the middle of dealing with her company's share price going for a run to a high of AUD $0.029, from the previous trade of AUD $0.016. In today's episode of Coffee with Samso, we are talking to Yazi Zhan, who knows this business intimately and will give us a good insight into firstly the benefits of Lupin and Lupin Protein Isolate, followed by what I think could make WOA a global player in the highly sought-after plant-based nutrition business. The Business of Wide Open Agriculture Limited. Wide Open Agriculture Limited (ASX: WOA) is planning to be in the global plant-based protein sector, thanks to its proprietary technology that unlocks the full potential of lupins—a high-protein, regenerative legume native to Australia. As the exclusive holder of intellectual property for extracting lupin protein isolate, the company is positioning itself at the forefront of the clean-label, sustainable food movement. At the heart of this innovation is BUTINE PROTEIN, Wide Open Agriculture's signature lupin protein isolate. Clean, allergen-friendly, and remarkably versatile, BUTINE PROTEIN offers a powerful alternative to soy and pea proteins, catering to the fast-growing demand for ethical and environmentally responsible nutrition. With this cutting-edge IP and a focus on regenerative farming, Wide Open Agriculture is not just producing protein—it's pioneering a smarter, greener way to feed the world. With a strong background in business development, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions, Yaxi founded Accelerate Resources—an ASX-listed resource company—and served as its Managing Director from 2017 to 2024. Most recently, she has taken on an exciting new challenge as Chairman of Wide Open Agriculture, where she is leading the company's growth strategy. When you, me - anyone - goes into a new venture of any kind... Whether it's weight loss, building your own business, getting married, having kids... We tend to be pretty ignorant about what it's ACTUALLY gonna take to be successful. We think we know, but usually, we don't. Not really. In some cases, our ignorance comes from a lack of knowledge. In other cases, we do have some knowledge, but the knowledge doesn't prepare us for the EXPERIENCE of doing what it takes to succeed. Either way, our ignorance catches up with us, and we take a step back and go, "Woa, there is WAY more to this than I expected." A while back, I heard about this concept called paying down your ignorance. Basically, it's four steps you need to take to go from ignorant about how to be successful to actually BEING successful. Whatever your goals are in your health, wealth, or relationships, check out this episode to learn these four keys to success used by people who hit their goals (including in weight loss). It's only been one week, but it's really been 14 years, and Paul is calling: Microsoft and Qualcomm have finally made Windows 11 on Arm both viable and desirable. Nothing is perfect, but this platform is pretty incredible. Some notes from the past week: Mission Accomplished As a reminder, Paul finally got the Yoga Slim 7x last week and updated on app compatibility, hardware compatibility, gaming, and in-box AI experiences in time for WW - only found one non-working app, Google Drive. Then... More app and game compatibility testing. Since then, played a lot more DOOM (2016), ran into one issue that's surely WOA-related (note beta graphics driver, though) Video encoding performance: Snapdragon X vs Snapdragon X vs Core Ultra 9 H-series vs MacBook Air M3 Initial thoughts on battery life and then More thoughts on battery life. Mastery of a project depends on mastery of its construction. It is this motto that has driven Samuel Poutoux, architect, and Marc-Henri Maxit, economist and carpenter contractor, to create L'Atelier WOA (Wood Oriented Architecture). Since 2012, the two 'partners in crime', and their associates, are specialists of mixed construction systems where wood plays a central role. At a time where economy of ressources is necessary, whether it be material or land, their practice articulates mixed structures and programmes. In this episode, through Esther's voice, they talk about two of their projects sharing one plot of land. Two different clients, two different programmes, one site. How did L'Atelier WOA use densification to harmonize various uses and allow the creation of a shared park in the middle? This exemple illustrates how WOA implements not only ecological and economical solutions but also social and societal intentions, often forgotten by green labels.A testimony full of nuances and optimism on creating today a living environment for tomorrow.Image teaser DR © Atelier WOASound engineering : Julien Rebours___If you like the podcast do not hesitate:. to subscribe so you don't miss the next episodes,. to leave us stars and a comment :-),. to follow us on Instagram @comdarchipodcast to find beautiful images, always chosen with care, so as to enrich your view on the subject.Nice week to all of you ! Where do you turn when your organization commits fraud, waste, or abuse? How do you cope with retaliation after you decide to speak up? Being a whistleblower is one of the most traumatic experiences in one's life. It can often lead people into a dark depression or even to consider suicide. Fortunately, resources are available, and trained professionals can assist should one decide to “blow the whistle.” My next guest is one of them. Ms. Garrick founded Whistleblowers of America (WoA) as a nonprofit in 2017, providing voluntary peer support to those suffering workplace trauma. She developed the Whistleblower Retaliation Checklist© (WRC) to identify negative psychosocial impacts on victimized employees and provide forensic testimony. Over the last few years, Professor Garrick has taught for the University of Southern California School of Social Work and has supervised interns from the University of West Florida. Her areas of expertise include policy and program development for disabled veterans/wounded warriors, whistleblower mental health, suicide prevention, and organizational leadership development. She is a recognized public servant who has received awards from several distinguished organizations. She founded the FAR Group, which provides consultation to public and private organizations that need development, advocacy, and educational support.Ms. Garrick is a published author, media source, and international public speaker. Now, 25 years later, Jason gets to work with an incredible community and focus on learning what motivates his team. As the conversation progresses Norris, Eric, and Matt find themselves swapping favorite stories and challenging each other to win. The trio have an unbreakable bond as they meet every Wednesday to train, take vacations together, and (even if they aren't on the same team) find ways to push each other towards their goals. Norris shares about his own feature on ESPN, Matt talks about his upcoming game as the assistant coach, and Eric speaks on what it's like to be a part of a team. Listen to the entire conversation and find yourself laughing with the whole room! Eric and Katie have personally volunteered at John's home a part of Waves' Semi-Independent Living Program, helping John and his roommate William wherever assistance is needed. Eric and Katie speak on how volunteering keeps them connected with their community and allows them to actively support others without expecting anything in return. When it comes to giving back, Eric and Katie share that it doesn't have to mean giving money- giving any time at all to help those in need of support makes an amazing impact on the community. For the final episode of the season, WOA switches modes and becomes the movie review source you didn't know you needed. We have folks from the Fairview Day Program, Jimmy Parnell and Hannah Rose, come down to join hosts Matt Moore and Trent Denson. In addition, Waves Early Learning Program Director Regina Wilson and her son Eric Wilson, who is a part of the Waves Employment Program, join the episode. Everyone sits down and reviews the movie Champions, starring Woody Harrelson. Champions released this year and tells the story of a former minor-league basketball coach who is assigned a court order to manage a team of basketball players with intellectual disabilities. We couldn't think of a better team to review Champions than our Waves Adults who can offer an honest opinion on whether the film accurately portrayed the community of disabilities. Listen to Hannah, Jimmy, Eric, and Matt all give their reviews, sharing their favorite and least favorite things about the movie. Gina also offers her opinions having watched it from the perspective of a mother to a son with disabilities. She shares her hesitations and worries going into the film but ultimately loved the message and conclusion of the story (barring one exception). Trent goes over the plot of the film with the table and the whole crew decides the movie was a raving success! This week on WOA we have the unique pleasure of bringing together Hippie Radio 94.5 Whit Hubner and Hannah Rose, who is a part of Waves Fairview Day Program. Hannah has a personal goal of being on the radio one day and what better way to facilitate that goal than to connect her with a radio expert? Whit and Hannah are welcomed by your host Trent Denson and co-host Matt Moore to explore what it looks like to get involved with the radio and the various joys that come with it. Whit shares his journey to radio, having started in sales before his boss suggest joining Hippie Radio. He spent 4 years with Hippe Radio before joining WMOT for 6 years. Just this past February Whit returned to Hippie Radio and currently produces the Sunday Night Vinyl Series with Bill Edwards at 9 pm. Hannah doesn't miss the opportunity to ask Whit what he loves most about radio and eagerly listens to Whit's advice on how to pursue the career. We wouldn't be WOA without hearing from Matt "the Man" Moore on his passion for music. Listen along as the team talks radio, The Simpsons, and what we can look forward to next from Whit.  This podcast is made possible through partnerships with Spread the Positive, TN's Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and the Community Foundation of Middle TN.
