The answer for the guilt, the unsettledness, that soul disquiet, can only be found by finding peace with God through the blood of Jesus' cross and the power of new life in His resurrection!
In our lives, few decisions are as profound as choosing a partner with whom to raise children. But what happens when that partnership comes to an unexpected end? It's natural to reevaluate past decisions in light of new circumstances. Whether it's questioning judgment, revisiting old feelings, or contemplating the future, these reflections are not just common; they're a necessary part of moving forward. There are frequencies in your life that will bring the wall of Jericho down and there are frequencies that will keep the wall of Jericho up. The frequency that will keep the wall standing is guilt. It is the biggest weapon of the enemy and must be dealt with otherwise you will never rise up in your authority. The moment you realize that Jesus took away the sin of the world, not covered it, He took it away, your shout will have a different frequency and the walls of Jericho will begin to tremble. Length: 37 minutesSynopsis: This morning (2/15/24), in our Q&A, we took up three questions, in what turned out to be the most important Q&A of the 2023-2024 year thus far: (1a) What role should guilt play in our lives and (1b) how should we deal with it? (2) What strategies can we use to strengthen our attachment to and observance of halacha? and (3) How do you know whether a change in your behavior is a result of the temporary circumstances or is indicative of a more substantial change? I was especially pleased with Question #2, which I responded to by giving TEN strategies for strengthening our connection with halacha, thanks to Chip & Dan Heath.-----מקורות:רמב"ם - משנה תורה: ספר המדע, הלכות תשובה א:א; ב:ב"Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard," by Chip Heath and Dan HeathSwitch Cheat-Sheetרמב"ם - משנה תורה: ספר המדע, הלכות דעות ו:א-----The Torah content for this week has been sponsored by Isaac, out of Hakaras HaTov to Hashem for giving him a new job that will enable him to continue to learn and to grow.-----If you've gained from what you've learned here, please consider contributing to my Patreon at www.patreon.com/rabbischneeweiss. One of the most common questions I hear as a clinical psychologist who specializes in depression in anxiety is “how do I deal with the guilt and the same that I constantly feel?” It's a tough question that doesn't have a single, easy answer. However, for many of us, much of our guilt and shame comes from distorted, unrealistic thoughts. Our minds only see the mistakes we've made, the areas we've fallen short, and the regrets from the past that we can't let go of. If you can learn to challenge these thoughts and see yourself more accurately, much of the guilt and shame melts away as it no longer has a platform to stand on. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scott-eilers/support

A side effect of dieting and following rules around food is the inevitable guilt you experience when you feel, consciously or subconsciously, that you have broken a rule. But guilt is unhelpful when it comes to eating, because it keeps you stuck in the binge/restrict cycle. So how exactly do you stop feeling guilty about the food you eat? On today's solo episode, Deanna takes you through a 3-step process to release guilt over eating so you can stop the yo-yo cycle. When we are uncomfortable setting boundaries, it's easy to fall into patterns like people-pleasing to make sure everyone else is happy. However, this becomes the breeding ground for resentment and anger in our lives. Many of us suffer from our people-pleasing ways. We do it for several reasons: To be accepted and belong, to receive love, and to find validations. We worry that people may not like us, creating a life of self-abandon and resentment. In this episode, Kim speaks to Krista Resnick about creating boundaries to protect our space and our relationships. It's great to make other people happy, but it's more important to please ourselves first by making self-honoring choices. Here are the things to expect in the episode: Are you for yourself, or are you against yourself? Establishing boundaries and aligning with your purpose Why self-compassion and self-care is essential to your success Choosing kindness over judgment And much more! What's in the episode: How do you know when to set a boundary? What fears stop people from setting boundaries? How to lean into discomfort. Krista's top 2 tricks for starting to set boundaries in your life. How to quit abandoning yourself for the sake of pleasing others so you can be free. “Too many times we self-abandon for the sake of pleasing others?” Krista Resnick If you enjoy this episode and it inspired you in some way, I'd love to hear about it and know your biggest takeaway.
