Netflix's second anime film version of The Witcher has dropped, this time featuring Geralt of Rivia in an adventure called Sirens of the Deep. While some Witcher fans may not be pleased by the liberties taken in this adaptation of a story by author Andrzej Sapkowski, Monte and DoA found it to be charmingly reminiscent of a quest from The Witcher series of video games. With the departure of Henry Cavill from the Netflix series, this movie uses Geralt's voice actor from the games, Doug Cockle, alongside support actors from the live-action show Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra. In today's Daily Fix:Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games is addressing player concerns that the game doesn't feel rewarding enough. An upcoming update will feature changes to what loot drops from rare monsters, and the difficulty in which enemies scale. Each map will also have a minimum number of rares. Grinding Gear Games also promised to address other issues in the future. In other news, Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle apparently got in some trouble with CD Projekt RED after spilling the beans on The Witcher 4. In a previous video, Cockle claimed that Geralt will be in The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, but he won't be the lead. Cockle recently clarified that CDPR told him they haven't released anything about the game's story or characters, and aren't sure where Cockle got his info from. Marvel announced that the film will be retitled “Brave New World.” Critical Role. Critical Role's joint collaboration of a Zelda one-shot with Nintendo is available on YouTube. The adventure features Liam O'Brien, Emily Axford, Omar Najam, Robbie Daymond, Marisha Ray, and Matthew Mercer as GM. The adventure uses a Powered by the Apocalypse hack co-developed with Nintendo Treehouse. Diablo 4. Much anticipated Blizzard ARPG has finally released on PC, PS5, and Xbox. The first player to reach Hardcore level 100 had their character perma-killed due to a disconnect form the server - Blizzard, as an anti-cheat measure, kills your character when you DC. Everybody 1-2-Switch. A sequel to the glorified tech demo Switch launch title has been announced, releasing June 30th. It will feature similar wacky gameplay as the original. Microsoft. The Xbox maker will pay $20M in fines after settling with the FTC after it was found to be illegally collecting data from children on Xbox. COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) stipulates that online service providers must notify parents of their intentions and seek consent before they can collect and use personal information from children under 13. Microsoft maintains that the data was never used, shared, or monetized, and that the procedures that led to the collection and retention of such data has been updated in compliance. Pastel Joycons. Nintendo announced two new pastel Joycon sets that will release June 30th. The sets are dual-colored, with a purple and green set and a pink and yellow set. They will retail for $80. Spider-Man 4. Tom Holland confirmed with Variety that talks about the film had officially begun, but they've halted the process in solidarity with the ongoing writers' strike. The One Ring. Public bid announcements have started for the soon-to-be-released 1/1 printing of The One Ring from the upcoming Magic: the Gathering x Lords of the Rings crossover set. This particular printing is foil, full art, and written in Elvish. Based on a video upload from WotC, the card is already starting to curl. Witcher. Doug Cockle, voice actor for Geralt in The Witcher games, revealed that he is being treated for prostate cancer. He says treatment is going well, and encourages men over 50 to get a PSA test. I can't believe it was six years ago that I met Doug Cockle, voice of The Witcher (Geralt) in the video games. He was a teacher back then, leading the acting course at Arts University Bournemouth - such an ordinary place to find a bonafide video game star.   But a lot has changed since then. Doug Cockle no longer teaches there; he was debating a return to full-time acting when we talked, and shortly after, did exactly that.   Meanwhile, The Witcher became a household name, propelled into the mainstream by the Netflix TV show. The star of that show, Henry Cavill, turned out to be an open admirer of Cockle's work, too, being a keen game-player himself. He even invited Cockle to the season one premiere in London, to hang out. And they did, as Cockle tells me in this episode of the One-to-one podcast show, now available everywhere and for everyone (search for "Eurogamer Podcasts" wherever you listen to them).   We talk about a great deal of other things as well. In find out what Doug Cockle has been up to in these six years, and how his move back into full-time acting has gone. We talk about the games he's been lending his voice to - he has apparently just wrapped recording on something he thinks we'll find very exciting. Doug has been the voice of Geralt since the series began in 2007 and has been nominated for several awards for his work with this character.

Two members of The Melting Pot trio went to cover the 12th British Academy (BAFTA) Games Awards for DESIblitz.com. On the red carpet we interviewed the likes of Naomi Kyle, John Carmack, Sefton Hill, Doug Cockle, David Braben, David Bateson and Benjamin O’Mahoney to name but a few. We also discuss the divisive decision by the BAFTA panel to hand the Game of the Year Award to Bethesda’s Fallout 4. It is vital that award ceremonies such as this take place for a number of reasons but primarily for the Video Games industry, which is larger than TV and Film, and needs to be given the rightful recognition it deserves.
