Ben and Bob are both super fans of the American indie rock band, “The National”. Both have been obsessed for a decade-plus with the roots of their friendship tracing back to that discovery. Challenged with distilling it down to their absolute favorites, they each come up with a Top 10 list with a few overlapping songs. Mutual favorites include “Bloodbuzz Ohio”, “Mistaken for Strangers”, and “Mr. November”. Ben's list is rounded off by “Don't Swallow the Cap”, “Rylan”, “I Need My Girl”, “Slow Show”, “Fake Empire”, “Walk It Back”, and “Nobody Else Will Be There”. Bob's list also includes “Day I Die”, “I Should Live in Salt”, “Afraid of Everyone”, “Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks”, “Secret Meeting”, “Abel”, and “Looking For Astronauts”. Make yourself a 17-song playlist, give it a few spins, then listen to Ben and Bob fanboy out on this hard-double-vouch episode of SSOS.

BrewDog USA Fake Empire is a Red Ale by style. As this liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you'll never look back. A clash of kings, FakeEmpire is as malty as it is hoppy. As sweet as it is bitter. As anarchic as it is structured. The perfect union between these two sides creates a thunderbolt of bittersweet chaos. This craft beer is 5% ABV. In this craft beer review, we will take a look at the color, smell, and taste.

However, while there, he secretly pursued an additional education in screenwriting. He then sold 'White People Problems,' an hour dramedy about a wealthy, dysfunctional black family to Bravo, and is currently redeveloping it as a half-hour for Peacock. Cameron has spent the past two seasons working on Fox's 'Empire', where he wrote and produced six episodes and managed the 160,000 follower writers' Twitter account. "They always leave when it gets hot in the cafe." —Man counter-protesting protestors   About: Since the turn of the millennium, the percentage of U.S.-based specialty coffee drinking folk, like those who have a cup everyday, has quadrupled. Travel to any major or minor city in the country, and you’ll see an offering of coffees that transcends the uniform Starbucks experience that’s on every block. But the image that reflects after you place a mirror in front of any craft coffee company or cafe is a bit more clear, albeit unsettling. Stare at it long enough and you’ll come across matters like gentrification, the rise of the millennial-inspired yuppie wave and the old act of global economics, power dynamics and capitalism all at play. This podcast episode explores the intricacies of coffee and attempts to answer two simple questions about one very complex drink. What makes specialty coffee special and who is it really for? Matt Berninger (the National) and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes, Desaparecidos) are two of rock’s heaviest-hitting lyricists. Turns out, they’re also huge fans of each other’s songs. The guys recently sat down to discuss all things songwriting (lyrics, finding melody, influences, “dick references," embarrassment and so much more) for the Talkhouse Music Podcast. They break down songs from across their catalogues, such as the National’s "All the Wine," "Fake Empire" and "Lemonworld," and Conor’s "Lua," "You Are Your Mother’s Child" and "Artifact #1." They also discuss their favorite songwriters, giving a lot of love to Leonard Cohen. This week in Episode 243, I had a great time talking with comics scribe Eric Palicki, who created Orphans Volume One, Red Angel Dragnet Volume One and Fake Empire, all with various artists and now available in graphic novel format. Palicki scripted a Gamora and Kitty Pride story in Guardians of Infinity #6 for Marvel, so he’s developed quite a lot of great storytelling in sci-fi, fantasy and horror as well as worked for the House of Ideas. We talk about his writing experiences, including how all these terrific books came to be, then he gives us information on his next project and how we can be sure to get our order in for it! Be sure to listen to what he has to say! For more information, check out Eric’s website at this link! Show your thanks to Major Spoilers for this episode by becoming a Major Spoilers Patreon member.
