And don't worry, there are about as many messy plotlines atop that thing as there are feathers atop Stassi's “floozy” headdress. Jax banged a ballerina - and he CANNOT wait to tell you about it. Stassi is not happy about Jax bragging about banging a ballerina - and she CANNOT wait to tell you about it. Scheana is performing her latest pop song 88 times, and everyone CAN wait for her to sing about it. Back at Sur, Kristen is professionally holding down the fort - aka, confronting Ariana about some suspicious texts from Tom. Who will break down first? (Clue - it's Kristen.)

It is with heavy hearts that we deliver this week's episode honoring the passing of a guitar hero giant who also happened to be an awesome singer and songwriter: John Sykes. He was a guitarist deserving of the title guitar god who rarely got mentioned in the same circles as the Satches, Vais, Rhodes, and Van Halens. Most known for his brief stint in Thin Lizzy at the end of their career and as a brief member of Whitesnake. He should have been a household for playing on the Whitesnake 87 album that sold 25M records worldwide, but he was fired before it came out. Kevin's a huge fan of Blue Murder, so we will focus on that band and some of the lesser-known projects he was involved in while also paying homage to his mainstream successes. New to InObscuria? Typically, what we do is exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. Rest In Peace John. This episode of Scandal Water contains adult themes and descriptions of violence. Listener discretion is advised. In March of 1987, an experienced coroner began a routine autopsy on 44-year-old John Powell, who'd spent months in Drake Memorial Hospital after being critically injured in a motorcycle accident. But when the coroner detected a subtle smell similar to that of burnt almonds, he suddenly realized Mr. Powell had not died of injuries related to the accident… he'd been murdered with cyanide. This discovery was only the first step in a chain of events that ultimately led to the capture of Donald Harvey, a serial killer who operated in three different hospitals in Kentucky and Ohio between 1970-1987. Dubbed the Angel of Death, Harvey was ultimately convicted of killing 37 people, although his actual murder count is believed to be higher. In this episode we discuss the events that transpired– and the people who risked their jobs–in order to end the Angel of Death's horrific murder spree. Welcome to Episode 171 of the Being Human Podcast: Catholic Mindfulness on College Campus In this episode, the last of our six-part series for Lent, I had a conversation with Lily McGibbon – a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame (and granddaughter of Paul Vitz!) - to discuss the integration of Catholicism with psychology and mindfulness.  Lily shares her perspective on the topics of mental health and gender ideology at Notre Dame as well as the changing attitudes towards marriage and relationships among college students. We also explore the relevance of incorporating Catholic mindfulness into daily life.    Discussed in the episode: Exploring how the integration of Catholicism with psychology and mindfulness in gaining traction on college campuses nowadays A discussion on how exposure to diverse perspectives and challenging environments can lead to personal growth and deeper understanding of one's faith Reflections on how attitudes towards marriage and relationships vary among college students, with some prioritizing career aspirations Understanding that Catholic mindfulness often combines elements of Eastern philosophy and Catholic theology, emphasizing the importance of being present and filling oneself with grace and goodness Discussion on how Catholicism is often misunderstood as unsympathetic towards mental health issues, and reflections on how Catholic faith actually does provide guidance and support in dealing with anxiety and depression Understanding how faith plays a crucial role in mental life and how an active prayer life can provide support and understanding in how we receive God's guidance and navigate the busyness of daily life An emphasis on how adapting to changing circumstances and being present in the current moment is an important aspect of living a faithful life   Resources mentioned or relevant:  The Mindful Catholic: Finding God One Moment At A Time by Dr. Greg Bottaro Episode 134: Catholic Mindfulness: Why It's Not Only Okay But Encouraged for Catholics to Practice Buddhist vs Catholic Mindfulness Is Mindfulness New Age? Jay played the role of a shrewdly-calculating hitman, mob debt collector, and gunrunner to target gang members, anti-government groups, narcotics and weapons traffickers, and organized crime syndicates. He is perhaps best known for his landmark infiltration of the notorious Hells Angels becoming the first-ever lawman to defeat the gang's multilayered security measures becoming a member of their legendary Skull Valley charter. As refreshing as it was to get a taste of commoner life last week, we're not displeased to be back with the deliciously wicked warlords and courtiers of the Unseelie this time around. The lengthily-titled Pour L'Amour et Liberté: The Book of Houses 2 covers the three (at the time) Houses of the Parliament of Dreams' loyal opposition: Ailil, Balor, and Leanhaun, wyvern, serpent, and rose. (Yeah, yeah, the Ailil crest gets presented as a dragon, but in the original drawing the thing has no legs, so it's a wyvern.) It's about as long as three kithbooks if you strip out the templates and padding, so we probably get more in-depth and specific treatment of these Houses than any others in the game. Since we'd already had The Shadow Court, did we need this book? As much as we needed the first Book of Houses even though we had Nobles: the Shining Host. Does this book live up to the hype? We report, you decide. If you're into purchasing this one, check it out at https://www.storytellersvault.com/product/3511?affiliate_id=3063731. We also referenced The Book of Invasions and The Ulster Cycle (specifically, the Táin Bó Cúailnge) of Irish lore, because all three Houses make use of it, having explicit ties to Ireland as they do. The first and only feature from famed music video director Hype Williams (Missy Elliot, “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” 1997; The Notorious B.I.G., “Mo Money Mo Problems,” 1997; TLC, “No Scrubs,” 1999), Belly is a ‘90s crime drama set in NYC starring Nas, DMX, Taral Hicks, Method Man, and T-Boz with cameos by Sean Paul, Method Man and others. Upon its release, the movie was widely panned and, due to its negative, violent depictions of young black men, the Magic Johnson Theater chain even refused to screen it. But 25 years later, Belly stands as a resonant distillation of its time, both stylistically and sociologically. New Models chose to screen Belly for the monthly NM x Trust Kino night in Berlin last week. And for this event Lil Internet, a video director himself (Beyoncé, “No Angel,” 2013; Diplo, “Express Yourself,” 2012; Iggy Azalea, “Mo Bounce,” 2017) put together some contextualizing thoughts on Belly, which he read IRL before the screening. He's adapted his notes for this NM Short. For more: @lilinternet https://soundcloud.com/lilinternet/dmx-prayer-monument-ambient?

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club became the face of the rebellion against the status quo during the midpoint of the 20th century. Known for their leather jackets and Harley-Davidson-riding packs, the group developed notoriety for their involvement in various violent crimes, including drug trafficking, extortion, assault, and homicide. Becoming a member of the mysterious organization is a feat that's as difficult as it is dangerous. Retired ATF Special Agent Jay "Jaybird" Dobyns discusses his involvement in a two-year-long undercover operation to infiltrate Hells Angels, the dangers he faced during his assignment, and how he was able to bring justice by taking down some of the most dangerous members. After conducting over 500 undercover investigations spanning over 20 years, Jay Dobyns retired from his career with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. For his bravery and service, Dobyns has been decorated with numerous awards, including the ATF Distinguished Service Medal for Outstanding Investigative Accomplishment, the International Narcotics Officers Association Medal of Valor, the National Association of Police Officers "Top Cop" Award, and the U.S. Attorney General's Medal of Valor. In his best-selling book, No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels, Dobyns details his treacherous mission of infiltrating Hells Angels.   Follow Emily on Instagram: @realemilycompagno Learn more about your ad choices. “A government-trained predator.” That's one description of this week's Team Never Quit Podcast guest, Jay Dobyns. While he participated in hundreds of undercover operations as a federal agent, he is best known for getting past multiple layers of security and becoming a member of the Hells Angels. Jay's book about that investigation - No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels - is a New York Times and international bestseller. Dobyns served as a federal agent for twenty-seven years, and was driven to succeed at any cost without regard for himself. These days, Jay has gone from a life of daring, undercover operations to becoming a High School football coach in Tucson, Arizona. Listen in as Jay and Marcus share an engaging conversation about Jay's encounters and adventures. In this episode you will hear: • The entertainment industry gets second takes.  If they miss a line, they can try again. In real life, there are no second chances. • I feel very blessed to have entered undercover work. Nothing really prepares you until you get out there and get your feet wet. • I've bought pea shooters, rocket launchers, bombs, homemade PVC pipe bombs, and servo activated C4. • I infiltrated home invasion crews. That's where I got my training to take on the Hells Angels. • I didn't always succeed at things, but I always tried. • My undercover persona eventually became who I was. • I made a million mistakes in my life, and my wife and family have given me one million and one second chances. • We fabricated the murder of a Hells Angels rival, and that is when I was welcomed into the organization. • I ruined everything for the mission. It was heartbreaking to see what I had done to get there. • God does not build us to intentionally betray people. • My agency failed to react to threats against me. I was told “You're on your own.” • When no one cares who gets credit for success, we're on to something. • Want someone to remember your name? You're gonna have to do something they will never forget. • If you want something you've never had before, you're gonna have to do things you've never done before. • Life is about making mistakes, but don't remake mine - I can tell you how they turn out. It's not good.
