Meanwhile, fallout from the latest Trump/Musk blunder is serious. The DOGE cutters fired the newer federal workers managing America's nuclear weapons and are now frantically trying to get them back.

A fed-up group of Oakland neighbors is calling on the city to make their streets safer. After years of complaining, the neighbors told KTVU they finally took matters into their own hands by installing tires, filled with dirt and rocks, on busy streets, to stop reckless driving. Homeowners along the stretch of East 21st Street in Oakland's San Antonio neighborhood are outraged. City crews encountered hecklers Tuesday afternoon while snatching up dozens of tires from the center lane. A group of neighbors admits to taking matters into their own hands by installing the tires as a barrier to prevent reckless driving, including sideshows.

It's been a year since Silicon Valley Bank's collapse left everyone worried that the US's banking sector sat on shaky ground. Despite that turmoil, one bank stands out: JPMorgan Chase. The largest bank in the country, JPMorgan took home record profits in 2023, and its dominance looks set to continue. The FT's US banking editor Joshua Franklin walks through the reasons why JPMorgan flew past its competitors, and what threat its size could pose to smaller banks.Clips from AP, CNBC, KTVU, KPIXPlus, do you have a question about markets, finance or economics? [SEGMENT 2-1] Shock and Awe 5 – Library closure Leftism and the library closing [X] SB – Library closing Too dangerous to operate. How to continue to operate? Closed until further notice. Internet or other resources. Questions from the mayor. No one in the city, including the police chief A library spokesperson told KTVU that crimes, theft and vandalism against employees and patrons were just the tip of the iceberg. "We've also had drug activity and drug use both inside the library and on library property," said Brooke Converse, a spokeswoman for the Contra Costa County Library System. "People having sexual intercourse inside the library or on property in full view of patrons and staff. We found bullet casings on library property." Antioch's Mayor Lamar Hernandez-Thorpe criticized the move, saying the city was blindsided by the decision. "No one in the City of Antioch, including the police chief, was informed of safety concerns by Contra Costa County regarding the library," he said in a statement. Library officials, however, say the branch is owned and operated by the county, so county supervisors were notified. Cop shortage https://www.themirror.com/news/us-news/governor-jeff-landry-declares-state-344110 Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has declared a state of emergency due to the severe shortage of police officers across the state. Landry's executive order issued Thursday lifts limits on how many new employees Louisiana sheriffs can hire and on payroll increases for their departments. The Louisiana Sheriff's Association estimates that sheriffs' offices statewide are currently short by approximately 1,800 deputies, leading to challenges in maintaining adequate staffing levels and increasing response times to emergency calls. In light of the statistics, Governor Landry issued the executive order to address the pressing need for additional law enforcement personnel. [SEGMENT 2-2] Shock and Awe 6 – Restaurant robbed How many times would you have to be robbed before you closed? https://mynorthwest.com/3950668/rantz-seattle-restaurant-owner-lost-all-faith-in-city-after-23rd-break-in/ A popular Seattle restaurant suffered it's 23rd break-in since the defund movement three years ago that created the city's crime crisis. And the would-be burglar didn't even end up stealing anything. The Seattle restauranteur asked not to be named fearing activists would target him for speaking out. The last time he tried to bring attention to the crime crisis, he said he suffered an avalanche of negative Yelp reviews. But when you say you've been burglarized 23 times in just three years, it's hard to stay silent, even in Seattle. “I have lost all faith in the city of Seattle, SPD, Council members, and state elected officials,” he explained to the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH. Now the coverup. On March 1, 2018, after Americore wired a $200,000 loan to James and Sara Biden's personal bank account, James Biden sent a payment of the same amount to Joe Biden for an alleged loan repayment. No matter how the media tries to spin this, the money was Joe Biden's payment for services to be rendered. As you consider what Fox did to pressure the Biden, understand how that judge ultimately kicked Hunter Biden's sweetheart deal off the table and into public scrutiny. Joe Biden will deny having any knowledge of this, save the "loan repayment". That's because the modis operandi for Joe Biden is to deny having any knowledge of his family's business dealings. But that won't help him. Someone higher than he let the dogs out. This story about Americore is not new. So why is Politico regurgitating what's already been digested? Only months ago, we learned of the "loan repayments" via canceled checks, so again why now? Because Joe Biden is done. [SEGMENT 2-3] Shock and Awe 7 - Ezra Klein There is a pattern occurring. I get a kick out of every time somebody says that Biden needs to step aside, they do the same thing. Have you spotted it? Why can't they just dump the guy without reservation? Erza Klein, a columnist and podcast host for The New York Times, called on Joe Biden to end his White House bid. Nothing new with that. But what he says next is what always makes me chuckle. “I want to say this clearly: I like Biden. I think he's been a good president. I think he is a good president. I don't like having this conversation,” Klein said Friday in an episode of his podcast, “The Ezra Klein Show.”. The man actually repeated, [pp] "I think he's a good president". Why don't I believe him? Perhaps it's that he said "I don't like having this conversation". This very difficult conversation. [SEGMENT 2-4] Shock and Awe 8 – Ezra Klein [X] SB – WH press pool on Biden taking a cognitive test A year ago? Proves himself every day. But it gets more difficult as his next comments suggests. Klein continues, “And I know a lot of liberals, a lot of Democrats are going to be furious at me for this show.” “I think Biden, as painful as this is, should find his way to stepping down as a hero,” he added later. Ouch. That had to be tough to admit. And clearly I see why now Klein prefaced his remarks about how much he loves Biden. Klein goes on to state the obvious: “The people whom Biden listens to — Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, Mike Donilon, Ron Klain, Nancy Pelosi, Anita Dunn — they need to get him to see this,” he continued. “Biden may come to see it himself.” Now are you really ready for a hearty laugh? Klein wants people to believe that the old fart stuck in the 1960s can be a "bridge". Klein said the Democratic Party should want to help Biden to be “the bridge of the next generation,” making reference to what the president called himself during his 2020 campaign. “The party should help him find his way to that, to being the thing he said he would be in 2020, the bridge to the next generation of Democrats,” Klein continued. “And then I think Democrats should meet in August at the convention to do what political parties have done at conventions so many times before, organize victory.” This is as close as Democrats get to stating the obvious. Klein echoes most of the members of his party as eh worries about the damage Biden is doing to Democrats. How long can this party blatantly lie, and attempt to prop up the pathological lying clown? Democrats pretend to laud Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, which did exactly as predicted: opposite. Democrats know this. Biden's handling of, well, everything has panicked the Democrats. His age has always been and continues to be a major question. And that fact was exacerbated by the special counsel report. It's almost as if Democrats were waiting for the special counsel to give them permission criticize the obvious about Biden. But now that the permission has been granted, he piling on has begun. Joe Biden may very well be “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory”. But he's about to be exposed definitively as an old-brain damaged crook. How difficult must it have been for the Trump-hating Ezra Klein to pen that message. No amount of platitudes for "a job well done" by Biden can erase the underlying message of Klein. Sadly for Democrats, Klein speaks for millions of others. Ask yourself this. Given what you've witnessed of Biden's decline, would you fill in the oval in support of Joe Biden for another 4 years? I know if Trump were Biden, he would not get my vote. Democrats know that the biggest person encouraging voter suppression is Joe Biden. As he said of his candidacy, "Watch me".
The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) has made the decision to move its annual conference from Hollywood, Florida, to San Francisco due to what it describes as a deeply troubling and racially charged atmosphere in Florida. In a statement, the NBNA cited the enactment of anti-Black policies and laws that undermine Black history, as well as restrictions placed on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools. The organization also referenced the NAACP's travel ban and highlighted the tragic and racially motivated murders of three innocent Black Americans in Jacksonville, Florida, as contributing factors to the hostile and unsafe environment in the state. According to reports from Bay Area station KTVU, the NBNA conducted a survey among its members before finalizing the decision to relocate the conference. Learn more about your ad choices. An act of civil disobedience transpired at the Port of Oakland in California where supporters of the Palestinian cause disrupted proceedings. Their presence at the port, and the consequent obstruction of a U.S. government vessel, was triggered by disagreement with the American backing for Israel. As reported by KTVU, the Arab Resource and Organizing Center spearheaded the demonstration, amassing roughly 200 individuals near The Cape Orlando, a merchant marine vessel overseen by the Department of Transportation. The gathering escalated around 8 o'clock on Friday morning. Following the initial group's movement, a similarly sized contingency set up a second site of demonstration by the gate after the port authorities sealed off the entrance. The report suggests an air of determination amongst these individuals, emphasizing their shared cause. Local news outlet CBS News provided further details on the escalation, noting that among the demonstrators, three stalwart individuals took the protest a step further by attaching themselves to a ship barrier mechanism. Moving from passive demonstration to active resistance, these individuals held fast to a rope ladder in an attempt to prevent workers from securing one of the ship's doors.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Iranian Christians face increased pressure in Islamic Republic In the Islamic Republic of Iran, Christians continue to face increased persecution as the Muslim authorities tighten their grip in response to nationwide protests since September 2022. Christian converts from Islam, in particular, face imprisonment of house church leaders and denial of their basic rights as citizens. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, that brought the current Iranian government to power, hundreds of thousands of Iranians have trusted Christ as Savior. However, Christians are considered to be direct enemies of the Iranian state. According to Open Doors, Iran is the eighth most dangerous country to live in for Christians. Please pray for our Iranian brothers and sisters in Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” Pfizer exec: Mutate COVID virus to profit from more vaccines The Project Veritas staff filmed Jordan Walker, the Pfizer Director of Research and Development, revealing the company might consider creating mutated forms of COVID-19 to develop highly profitable vaccines, reports LifeSiteNews. Listen. UNDERCOVER REPORTER: “Pfizer ultimately is thinking about mutating COVID?” WALKER: “Well, that's not what we say to the public. You know how the virus keeps mutating?” REPORTER: “Yeah.” WALKER: “Well, one of the things we're exploring is like, ‘Why don't we just mutate ourselves?' If we're gonna do that, though, there's a risk of, as you could imagine, no one wants to be having a pharma company mutating viruses. It would be very controlled to make sure that the virus that you mutate, doesn't create something like, goes everywhere.” Dr. Robert Malone, a scientist and the Medical Director of the Unity Project, was horrified. MALONE: “The gentleman seems to have absolutely no moral compass at all. If this is the quality of individuals within Pfizer that are making these huge decisions that risk global public health, it's profoundly corrupt!” In response, Republican leaders and conservative commentators have demanded answers from Pfizer and criticized the power held by pharmaceutical companies. Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio sent a letter to CEO Albert Bourla asking for transparent information regarding the pharmaceutical's plans to mutate the COVID virus. In a written statement, Pfizer did not dispute that Dr. Jordan Walker told a Project Veritas journalist that Pfizer is exploring how to “mutate” the COVID-19 virus. However, Walker, the Pfizer Director of Research and Development, explained how Pfizer was already mutating the COVID virus. WALKER: “The way it would work is that we put the virus in monkeys.” UNDERCOVER REPORTER: “Okay.” WALKER: “and we successively causing them to keep infecting each other, and we collect serial samples from them. And then, once they're more infectious, the virus we'll put them in another monkey and just constantly actively mutate it. That's one way.” Fox News host Tucker Carlson weighed in. CARLSON: “A Pfizer executive bragging on camera about how his company conducts a kind of Frankenstein science, manipulating COVID viruses for profit, imperiling potentially the entire world doing it in secret, possibly in violation of federal law. Bragging about this. No matter what your politics are, doesn't matter who you voted for, that's a huge story. And you would think every reporter in this country would be itching to follow up on it, calling Pfizer, telling the public about it. But no, that's not happening.” Bodycam video reveals hammer assault of Paul Pelosi Two disturbing police videos were just released Friday. First, the long-suppressed October 28, 2022 video from a San Francisco policeman's bodycam that shows a portion of the brutal hammer attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The assailant's name is David DePape, a 42-year-old Canadian illegal alien, who abused drugs, was part of a public nudist group, and had exhibited psychotic behavior, reports the New York Post. In a bizarre audio statement which DePape read to a KTVU reporter last Friday, he didn't apologize for the attack, but apologized for not hurting more people. New video of cops beating a Tennessee motorist In the second video released Friday, Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old black motorist who was pulled over in Memphis, Tennessee on January 7th for reckless driving, was aggressively beaten by five black Memphis police officers, reports National Public Radio. He had tried to flee on foot. Nichols died three days later in the hospital. The footage emerged one day after the officers were charged with murder in Nichols' death. In response, talk show host Todd Starnes reports that a truck rammed stores followed by looting Saturday. Christian cop resigns after superiors upset with anti-“gay” marriage post And finally, Jacob Kersey, a 19-year-old Christian police officer in Georgia, has resigned after he was told by superiors that he could not share his personal religious views on social media, reports The Daily Signal. On January 2, Kersey posted a 20-word message about his view of marriage on Facebook. In a paraphrase of the Apostle Paul's teaching in Ephesians, he wrote, “God designed marriage. Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That's why there is no such thing as homosexual marriage.” The next day, Kersey said he received a phone call from his supervisor, who told him that someone had complained about the post and to take it down. When Kersey refused, the supervisor warned him that failure to delete the Facebook post on marriage could result in his termination. Kersey said he then was contacted by Lt. Justin Hardy who told him that the Port Wentworth Police Department did not want to be held liable by homosexuals. Kersey still refused to delete the post. Kersey said that Police Chief Matt Libby told him that his Facebook post on marriage was the “same thing as saying the N-word.” After a week of paid administrative leave, Kersey was told he could not work as one of the department's officers if he continued to share his “interpretation or opinion on Scripture if it was deemed offensive.” He refused to be censored and quit. He told The Daily Signal that his decision to share his story “could very well mean I will not have another opportunity to be a police officer. That has been an extremely difficult reality to accept, but I sincerely believe speaking up is the right thing to do.” Jacob Kersey exemplifies 1 Corinthians 16:13 which says, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” Join me and send a polite email of objection to Port Wentworth Police Chief Matt Libby about his department's bullying of Officer Jacob Kersey. The Castro Merchants Association, named after the city's Castro District, sent a letter to San Francisco city officials saying group members who own businesses in the area plan to stop paying taxes if the city doesn't do more to address the problems, reported KTVU. In the letter, the organization complained of homeless people who "regularly experience psychotic episodes," vandalize storefronts, and harass business owners, employees, residents and tourists. "Our community is struggling to recover from lost business revenue, from burglaries and never-ending vandalism/graffiti (often committed by unhoused persons) and we implore you to take action," stated the letter. "Every day we wake up and have to help people on the street. We have to clean up feces on the street. We have to clear our people from doorways, so we can open our businesses. It's not fair," said Terrance Alan, co-president of the association, and owner of Flore Dispensary and Cafe Flore to KTVU. "At this point it's a failure of the system to help them." The association requested that the city reserve 35 beds in homeless shelters for people in the Castro district, in addition to devising a plan for offering services to people who decline help and keeping monthly records of how many people have been offered services and shelter. "Sometimes they do get violent," said Deen Nasher, manager of Castro Smoke Shop. "The city does need to take care of these people, find a place for them to stay and help businesses. When we call, [the police] come 30-40 minutes later." Dave Karraker, the other co-president of the association, said that if the association’s demands are not met, they may ask store owners to stop paying taxes and other city fees. San Francisco’s Department of Public Health (DPH) responded to the group, acknowledging the association's concerns and citing state policies that make their demands difficult to meet. San Francisco businesses have seen a large increase in burglaries and vandalism since 2019, prompting The Castro Merchants Association to begin documenting incidents. The association noted over 90 incidents totaling more than $170,000 in repair costs since 2020. https://thepostmillennial.com/google-revises-search-results-to-better-facilitate-abortions?utm_campaign=64487 Google revises search results to better facilitate abortions Google will now filter search results to indicate which locations identified as providing pregnancy services specifically provide abortions. The search engine had come under fire from pro-abortion activists for including results for pregnancy centers that do not provide abortions. Prior to this change, crisis pregnancy centers were also included in search results for abortion clinics. These are centers that help women who are unexpectedly pregnant keep their babies. Crisis pregnancy centers are in the business of facilitating birth, motherhood, and families, and encourage women to keep their babies, often providing help not just to the expecting mother, but for her partner as well. When a user searches for abortion facilities, those facilities that specifically provide abortions will be labeled as "provides abortions." If the search engine doesn't know whether or not a facility provides pregnancy termination, that result will be labeled "might not provide abortions." Google search results had not been differentiating between pregnancy centers that seek to help women, and those that offer pregnancy termination. As a result, some women seeking abortions were directed to services that would not provide them. This happened, according to Bloomberg, about a quarter of the time. In June, after the Supreme Court ruling overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that federally legalized abortion, lawmakers pressed Google to make this change. Their ask to Google came after a study from the Center for Countering Digital Hate, which "found that 11 percent of the results for a search for an 'abortion clinic near me' or 'abortion pill' in some states were for centers that oppose abortion," Reuters reported. This study was done in states that sought to make abortion illegal once the right to legislate on the matter was returned to the states. The Center for Countering Digital Hate also put together a list of the top ten accounts that have specifically sought to counter the genital mutilation of children, and called those users hateful for demanding that healthy children not be sterilized or otherwise mutilated. Those lawmakers who demanded Google change their search results to facilitate ease of finding access to abortions directed their letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai. In the view of these lawmakers, crisis pregnancy centers that encourage the continuance, instead of the termination, of a pregnancy are "fake clinics." They cite the Center for Countering Digital Hate, saying that the ads for crisis pregnancy centers are "misleading." "Google’s updates," TechCrunch reports, "around searches for abortion come as a group of more than 600 Google employees is pressing the company to expand worker health benefits, divest itself of some political ties and bolster user privacy in light of the Supreme Court decision to strip federal abortion rights." https://fee.org/articles/cnn-medical-analyst-says-masking-stunted-her-toddler-s-language-development-and-taught-her-an-important-lesson-about-tradeoffs/ CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Leana Wen Says Masking Stunted Her Toddler’s Language Development Throughout the pandemic, Wen was in what I’ll call the “pro-mandate” camp. In March 2021, she excoriated governors who rescinded or failed to pass mask mandates in their states. “We are not out of the woods. We haven’t reached the end of the pandemic,” Wen said in a pro-mask CNN piece. “It’s counterproductive and truly infuriating these governors are treating this as if the pandemic is over. It’s not true.” Later that year, she went so far as to argue that unvaccinated people shouldn’t be allowed to leave their homes. https://twitter.com/i/status/1436372898651033601 - Play Video A year later, Wen’s views have changed. In a recent Washington Post article, she explained why she’ll no longer be masking her children and how she shifted away from “being extremely cautious” with Covid protocols. “I accept the risk that my kids will probably contract covid-19 this school year, just as they could contract the flu, respiratory syncytial virus and other contagious diseases,” she writes. “As for most Americans, covid in our family will almost certainly be mild; and, like most Americans, we’ve made the decision that following precautions strict enough to prevent the highly contagious BA.5 will be very challenging.” Wen’s observations are not wrong. The new variants are less deadly, and this is particularly true for children, which has always been the case. A year ago, when Wen was still advocating strict mandates, we pointed out that the CDC’s own data showed small children were at far greater risk of dying from the flu, drowning, vehicle collisions, cancer, and other things than Covid. This data, for whatever reason, apparently did little to persuade Wen in 2021, however. What does appear to have changed her mind is that her child appears to have suffered from the mandates. “Masking has harmed our son’s language development,” she bluntly asserts in the article. Dr. Wen no doubt knows a great deal about public health, just like Anthony Fauci and Rochelle P. Walensky. But even Fauci and Walensky, I suspect, would concede that it’s Wen who knows what’s better for her child. It must be stressed that it’s not just that Wen wants what’s best for her child. It’s that she actually knows what’s best for her child because she has infinitely more knowledge about her child than any distant bureaucrat or meddling politician could ever possess. Nobel Prize-winning economist F.A. Hayek detailed this “local knowledge” concept in his work exploring “the knowledge problem,” and he showed why central planners seeking to engineer society through force are capable of producing little beyond “planned chaos.” This is why it’s so important that freedom of decision-making is left to those who have the most local knowledge and can most accurately assess the risks and rewards of any given action. The good news is that Wen, to her credit, appears to have learned something throughout the tragedy of the Covid pandemic, as have so many others.
