It's Casual Friday on the Majority Report On today's program: TPUSA post harrowing footage of "left-wing radicals" using jugs of water to freeze a 12" wide strip of ice in front of the entrance to a federal building as if this were anything other than a goofy prank. Tom Homan says he is pushing for the U.S. Government to create a database to be used to dox protestors. I think history will use that database to identify heroes of the day. Imagine being wrong on all your prognostication. That's what Democrat political pundits face. As the dust settles from the 2024 election cycle, the political landscape is already shifting toward the 2026 midterms. While Democrats publicly project confidence, a growing chorus of private admissions and pundit predictions paints a stark picture: Republicans are poised for a commanding victory, potentially expanding their majorities in both the House and Senate. This isn't just optimism—it's rooted in the Democratic Party's self-inflicted wounds, from cultural overreach to economic missteps, compounded by President Trump's anticipated successes in taming inflation and delivering a banner economic year. Democrats are damaged goods, and as one insider put it, that's putting it mildly. With Trump fixing "Bidenflation"—the issue that sank Joe Biden—they're not just facing headwinds; they're staring down a political hurricane.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Can Becca trust Logan's intentions?AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR CHRISTMAS IN BIG SKY COUNTRYDecembr 14 2025 | UPtvCAST & CREW OF CHRISTMAS IN BIG SKY COUNTRYRebecca Dalton as Becca CollinsOlivier Renaud as Logan JohnstonBRAN'S CHRISTMAS IN BIG SKY COUNTRY SYNOPSISWe meet Becca Collins, who runs Woof Moon. The company is not doing great. She's even taken an online business course, but it hasn't helped much. Then we meet Logan Johnston. He used to work in sales but has recently been promoted to PR at an oil rig company — despite the executives not believing he's the right fit for the job.Becca's brother-in-law works on an oil rig, and his communication suddenly gets cut off. Panicked, Becca calls the company and is connected to Logan. Logan doesn't really have any information. She calls back again, and Logan starts to feel guilty about how little he can offer.Wanting to do something meaningful, Logan decides to visit the family in person to reassure them and share what good news he can — that the workers are safe. He meets the family and tries to stick up for Big Oil. His boss then instructs him to take photos with the family to show that the company “cares.” Logan does, which upsets Becca. She gets over it fairly quickly when Logan returns to check on her. He offers to help update Woof Moon's website — web design is his real passion. They spend time together in the mountains and nearly kiss, until a kid shouts “EWWW!” from far away.Becca's brother-in-law eventually comes home safe — but then promptly goes back out to the rig to help a buddy. Because he's returning voluntarily, he won't be covered by insurance, and his family doesn't know. Logan does.Logan knows a lot more than he's letting on. His boss is pushing him to get the families of the remaining workers to sign paperwork that would essentially waive their rights. When Becca and her sister discover that Logan knew the truth, they're furious. But Logan has set up a radio system that allows them to communicate with the rig, so they reluctantly keep him around. They finally make contact, only to find that Becca's brother-in-law has his arm pinned under debris. Logan talks to him to keep him awake, and during the tense moment, he admits to Becca that he has feelings for her.Everything works out, the rescue is successful, and Becca and Logan finally kiss. Marc Maron's podcast WTF recently ended its run, so today Asif and Ali discuss Maron and his influence on comedy and podcasting (6:18) (after a brief digression on a fundraiser Ali recently went to). They begin by discussing Maron's early life and career. They discuss him getting involved in radio and all the acting roles he has done in the past 20 years. They then discuss Maron's recent stand up special “Panicked”. Finally they discuss WTF, the importance of the show for comedy and podcasting in general and the most memorable episodes. In Marc Maron's recent special he discusses SSRI's (for his cats!)‚ so in the second half, they discuss these drugs (31:31). Asif talks about selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, how they work and what they are used for. He then goes over the common types of SSRI's as well as their potential side effects. Asif then discusses how sometimes people can have a difficult time coming off SSRI's. Finally Ali asks Asif about other things that can be used for depression such as natural products and exercise. 1. When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason. John Tamny discusses the severe economic contraction initiated by mandated lockdowns, such as Governor Cuomo's March 20, 2020, order in New York. Tamny argues that politicians caused the crisis by forcing successful businesses to cease operations. These sudden actions by major economies forced global investors to fundamentally rethink the future value of businesses. Although early market signals from China suggested the virus was not highly lethal, pivotal political decisions, like the cancellation of South by Southwest, triggered panic, leading markets to realize that political action, not reality, was the primary threat. Markets digested these fears and corrected before rebounding. 1918
2. When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason. The conversation reviews the governors' initial promise of two-week lockdowns, noting that centralized power is rarely relinquished. The economic crisis deepened as epidemiologists and experts supplanted the collective knowledge of the marketplace, resulting in central planning, mass unemployment, and debt. John Tamny contrasts the COVID-19 response with the 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemic, which caused the equivalent of 250,000 modern deaths but elicited virtually no political or market reaction. The difference lies in technology: 50 years ago, without Zoom or delivery services, lockdowns would have caused mass discomfort and riots, preventing politicians from acting. Lockdowns happened because they could, not because they had to.
3. When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason. This excerpt examines the federal government's response, characterized as a partial command economy imposed after state lockdowns. John Tamny contends that Washington threw trillions of dollars at the collapse it subsidized, delaying recovery. He refutes the premise that cash handouts stimulate growth, stressing that economic dynamism comes from investment, not consumption. Attempts by commentators to nationalize investment and "freeze the economy" by propping up failing businesses were ultimately destructive. Tamny argues that had politicians done nothing, Americans would have adjusted naturally, allowing the resulting capital formation and investor trust to facilitate a rapid, organic recovery. 1918
4. When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason. The discussion critiques the indiscriminate government funding of the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), which subsidized well-endowed institutions and missed future innovators, thereby slowing the natural process of working out what is "good and what's bad." Government lending programs inevitably come with strings attached and impair credit. John Tamny suggests that individuals possess a protected "right to contract" and work, regardless of state mandates, citing Lochner v. New York. Ultimately, the sources stress that economic growth and freedom are the strongest defenses against disease, highlighted by the rapid success of private enterprise (like Pfizer) in vaccine development. Freedom must be the readymade answer to future pandemics. 1918 Retry

What happens when something unholy enters your home in the dead of night? Jason from Georgia shares a chilling encounter that pushed him beyond fear and into survival mode. Home alone, fresh out of the shower, he heard the unmistakable sound of his front door opening. His family wasn't supposed to be there—and fugitives were on the loose in his area. Grabbing his gun, Jason went to investigate. What he saw wasn't human. A woman stood in his dining room, her filthy dress clinging to her skeletal frame, long black hair hanging like a curtain over her face. One hand bore fingernails two feet long. She wheezed as if every breath was her last, echoing the labored sounds Jason had feared in the dark since childhood. Panicked, he ran to his room, arming himself with a blade. She followed, scratching at the walls, her presence unbearable. Just as Jason braced for the worst, something unbelievable happened: a massive hand, missing half a ring finger, appeared out of mist—his late father's hand. It slammed the creature's head into the wall before vanishing with her. That night, Jason realized his father had kept his promise: to protect him, even after death. #RealGhostStories #DemonEncounter #HauntedHouse #ParanormalExperience #GhostStoriesOnline #DarkEntity #SupernaturalProtection #FathersSpirit #ParanormalActivity #TrueScaryStories Love real ghost stories? 1.When Politicians Panicked: The New Corona Virus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason by John Tamney, argues that the severe economic contraction experienced in 2020 was primarily a consequence of politicians' panicked reactions and forced lockdowns, rather than the inherent lethality of the COVID-19 virus itself. Tamney highlights Governor Cuomo's March 20, 2020, decision to shut down New York, portraying the economy as a "valve" that could be arbitrarily opened and closed, which led to an immediate and severe contraction that persisted long after. The book contends that financial markets had already accounted for the virus's severity based on early signals from China, where US companies like Apple, GM, Nike, and Starbucks maintained strong performance, indicating the virus was not indiscriminately lethal. The real market panic, leading to a "very quick correction," occurred when politicians demonstrated their ability to "wreck an economy" through drastic actions like shutting down events such as South by Southwest in Texas. This response is contrasted with the 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemic, which caused 100,000 American deaths (equivalent to 250,000 today) but saw no significant market reaction or political lockdowns, primarily because technology at the time made such widespread closures impractical without risking "mass riots". Tamney criticizes the government's subsequent interventions, such as the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), for being akin to "central planning" imposed on top of political decrees. He argues these programs indiscriminately propped up entities like private schools, Harvard, and the Los Angeles Lakers, instead of allowing market forces to determine which businesses would adapt or fail. This "nationalization of investment" through government checks and loans was deemed anti-investment and merely delayed recovery by diverting capital from those most capable of investing to those most likely to consume, which does not drive economic growth. The author advocates for economic growth and individual freedom as the most effective responses to health threats. He points to examples like the voluntary disappearance of hand sanitizer and toilet paper before official shutdowns, and an individual living in a tent in Florida to protect his family despite no mandates, demonstrating that people don't need laws to avoid illness. Tamney suggests that a constitutional "right to contract" and return to work should protect individuals from such mandates. He concludes that the resilience shown by private enterprise, such as Pfizer developing a vaccine without "Operation Warp Speed" money, underscores that a healthy economy fostered by freedom is the best defense against disease. The core lesson, he asserts, is "never again take away people's freedom". 1919 AUSTRALIA QUARENTINE.
