This week I am dropping an episode with MJ Renshaw. This is a conversation I have been wanting to have for a while. I have really been tuning into how MJ has been moving through the world, and the kinds of offerings that she has been putting out into the universe.  In this conversation, we talk about the Being Method. Yes, you read that right. Being. This is a program and certification that MJ has created. It is all about the science of energy healing. It is about how cells work, how energy works and how emotions affect the body, but what I really find fascinating and why I wanted to have this conversation is because of her take on the concept of being.  Not doing. Not going. Not completing.  Being. I think if there is anything that has gone on with the world, it is a shift of all of us wanting to be more in tune with the world, moving with more flow and having a presence in the way we want to show up. A shift to have what we are actually doing in the world make more sense to us. We want to be liberated and remove ourselves from the constraints of what others are doing or feeling or what the world is telling us to do.  This conversation is all about being. We dive into what this means for MJ, what spirituality means, how love is the supreme teacher, and the values that she embodies into the world. This was a fun and informative conversation with MJ! We talked about everything from her personal journey into coaching and powerlifting (and how you can get into powerlifting), along with deep diving into lessons she's learned in business, and... the ultimate myth bust... as a woman, will lifting make you bulky? Marshelle Johnston (MJ) grew up in small town Missouri, and always had aspirations of moving away, exploring, and owning her own business some day. After high school, she moved to Boston, where she started her bachelors degree in Sports Management online. This was also around the time she decided to compete in her first powerlifting meet. (Fun fact: she has now competed in 10 competitions and set a Colorado state record with a 375 pound deadlift!) A few years later, she decided she wanted to open a gym exclusively for women in Denver. She moved, finished her degree, and started working toward opening the gym. A year and a half later, she opened MJ Fit, which grew quickly leading to need for expansion. MJ is working to build a national movement and service for his brand, “Young & Debt Free.”  On August 16, 2019 he eliminated $96,942 of student-loan and consumer debt in 5.5 years. In the first year of his debt free journey, MJ worked four jobs and eliminated over $25,000 of debt.  In the last year, he side-hustled an additional $30,000 of income from charging electric scooters such as bird and lime.
