When strangers laid eyes on him in person the reaction was usually disbelief. That's Mickey Featherstone? His larger than life notoriety often dwarfed his average physical stature. At 5‘7“ tall with wide blue eyes and a halo a blonde hair, Mickey looked more like an altar boy than one of the most feared men in New York City. Many people made the mistake of underestimating him and that only made him more dangerous. Mickey's temper was infamous, even for an Irishman. He had a low boiling point to start with and if alcohol was involved, and it often was, Mickey had the potential to explode. Those who knew him in the neighborhood often crossed the street when they saw him coming their way. Yet to those closest to him, Mickey was kind, devoted and generous to a fault. This dichotomy was Mickey in essence. He was a man split down the middle constantly struggling to be both a good person and a good gangster. An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.Episode 46 is a continuation of  our journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy.  This episode is  dedicated to two  witnesses  Kenneth O'Donnell and David Powers.  They were members of the Irish Mafia which is a term of endearment for the coterie of close friends and confidants that surrounded Kennedy during his presidency.  None were more influential than these two individuals who came to Dallas with the President and rode in the car just behind the Presidential Limousine that morning.  They saw the president assassinated and had a unique view from their seats in the follow car.   The tragedy that is the assassination extends itself to more than just the President.   The next few episodes which follow 46 will wind down our visit to Dealey Plaza.  These episodes  begin to explore  an array of matters that  dive into a deeper  darkness  related to what  went on that day in Dallas,  matters   that possibly point  to a  wider  and more sinister  plot to kill the president.  Matters that clearly call into question theory that there was a  lone assassin.   Complex cases without  an eyewitness that can actually identify the shooter make the forensic and circumstantial evidence that much more important.  Ironically, problems abound with much of the evidence in this case. Evidence that is complex, incomplete and sometimes conflicting. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. The Orleans Waterfront Inn lies between Town Cove and Route 28 in Orleans, Massachusetts. This had been the home of a sea captain whose family had strong ties to Orleans and whose ancestors were pilgrims. The original building has been here for over 100 years and was said to be a favorite haunt of the Irish Mafia where they ran whiskey. This was reputedly a brothel for a time as well, where a lady of the evening lost her life. The inn was the scene of two suicides. Perhaps because of this history, the inn is reputedly haunted. Not far from Orleans is the town of Brewster. There are several haunted locations in this town from the Crosby Mansion to the Bramble Inn and Restaurant to the Captain Freeman Perry House.
