John is the Chief Instructor of Kazoku Karate. He is a 4th Dan Black Belt and certificated with the (BCKA) British Combat Karate Association, (EKF) English Karate Federation, (BKF) British Karate Federation and (WKF) World Karate Federation. First got involved in Martial Arts at 27 when Karate knocked on his door. He started training for his son Kieran (who is currently a 3rd Dan Black Belt) and whilst training alongside him he soon became hooked and got the bug. He has competed in regional titles, national titles, world cups and national all styles. The Houston-based Kazoku Quartet is a classical saxophone ensemble devoted to high-quality chamber music that can be enjoyed by all. The diverse backgrounds of the four members (Daniel Gelok, Eleanor Parker, Masahito Sugihara, and Evan Withner) and the various demands of the greater Houston area musical scene have established a dynamic ensemble which regularly performs in classical, jazz, folk, and pop idioms. The Kazoku Quartet regularly works closely with contemporary composers such as Rob Smith, Joel Love, and Anthony Brandt, premiering new music and assisting with the development of new music for saxophone. 

Celeste, played as a teenager by Raffey Cassidy and as an adult by Natalie Portman, emerges from surviving a school survivor to become a jaded pop star in writer-director Brady Corbet’s VOX LUX. In Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Palme d’Or-winning drama SHOPLIFTERS (MANBIKI KAZOKU) a makeshift family creates meaningful bonds in caring for one another while struggling with life in poverty. I was able to get back to my roots and visit my Great Grandmother for her 90th Birthdai in Columbus, Georgia. I then visited my Alma Mater Temple University in North Philly, and returned to my birthplace-Harrisburg, Pa-The Capital Star City (717), for my Brother's 30th Birthdai. I realized how much trouble I had remembering all of the Japanese family vocabulary terms. So nows your chance to learn them too! Come With Me...
