Many Christians are frustrated as they try with no little zeal to perfect themselves. They mentally keep a checklist of good things that they should do, and bad things that they should not do. They are continually striving, failing, feeling guilty, despairing, depressed, etc. Is this what God intended? Or are we simply at the wrong tree?

The sacred duty of Sat Yogis is to liberate all beings from bondage to the Other, from all karmic debt, and from entanglement in the internalized demands of the superegoic introjection of the Other. The price of freedom is emptiness; but it must be the Ultimate Emptiness, which is revealed after emptying out what is not one's inalienable nature and essence. This opens the heart and mind to the Fullness, Completion, Glory, and Perfection of the Infinite and Eternal Self of Blissful Light and Power of Immeasurable Intelligence Who is dreaming us all.
The current state of national security is under scrutiny as the Department of Justice and FBI face significant internal changes. Kash Patel and Pam Bondi are overseeing a systematic removal of experienced personnel, specifically targeting those involved in previous high profile investigations. This purge has resulted in the loss of elite agents within the CI12 unit who possess critical expertise regarding Iran and global espionage. The timing of these firings is particularly concerning given the recent escalation of military conflict and the launch of Operation Epic Fury. While conventional military strikes dominate the news, the silent threat of cyber warfare looms. Iran is recognized for its advanced cyber capabilities, often retaliating through malware and intrusions into critical infrastructure like water systems and energy networks. The loss of institutional memory and veteran leadership, including figures like Steve Jensen and Brian Driscoll, leaves domestic defenses in a state of disarray. Loyalty tests and political questionnaires have replaced professional merit, leading to a decline in morale and a potential breakdown in intelligence sharing with international allies. Google's threat intelligence experts warn that global cyber attacks are inevitable. As the FBI's foreign influence task force is disbanded and leadership roles remain vacant, the ability to connect the dots and prevent future incidents is severely compromised. The focus on personal retribution over national safety has created a vulnerable attack surface, leaving the country exposed during a period of intense Middle East volatility. Tragedies often reveal what we're really made of. When times are unthinkably tough, heroes rise up, offering sacrificial acts of courage, endurance, and love toward others. These acts of faith are reflections of God's light, the brightness that shines when life is dim. Some of those heroic acts make headlines, while others are performed quietly. At Horizon, we'll explore six tragedies -- the Titanic, Chernobyl, Mount St. Helens, Concentration Camps, the Crippled Flight 1380, and the Chicago Fire -- and see how real people shone brightly amidst the darkness, pointing us to God's presence in suffering.
fWotD Episode 3193: Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Saturday, 31 January 2026, is Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice. The Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice (also known as 320 East 43rd Street, 321 East 42nd Street, or the Ford Foundation Building) is a 12-story office building in the East Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, New York, United States. Completed in 1967, it was designed in the late modernist style by architect Kevin Roche and engineering partner John Dinkeloo of Roche-Dinkeloo. The building was commissioned as the headquarters of the Ford Foundation, the largest private foundation in the United States when the edifice was constructed. The building is a glass-and-steel cube held up by piers made of concrete and clad with Dakota granite. The main entrance is along 43rd Street, and there is a secondary entrance on 42nd Street. Dan Kiley was the landscape architect for the large public atrium inside, the first such space in an office building in Manhattan; it includes trees, shrubs, vines, and other plants. Most of the building's offices are north and west of the atrium and are visible from other offices.Commissioned after Henry Heald became the Ford Foundation's president, the structure was developed on the former site of the Hospital for the Ruptured and Crippled. Final plans for the Ford Foundation Building were announced in September 1964, and the building was formally dedicated on December 8, 1967. The building underwent a major renovation and restoration between 2015 and 2018, and it was renamed the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice. The Ford Foundation Building has received critical acclaim for its design following both completion and renovation, and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission has designated the building and its atrium as city landmarks. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:34 UTC on Saturday, 31 January 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Bluesky at @wikioftheday.com.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Russell.

Thirty-six years after he was arrested and convicted, the most successful double-agent to ever work inside the Central Intelligence Agency died this week at the Federal Correctional Institution at Cumberland, Maryland. From 1985, when he began selling secrets to the Soviet Union, Aldrich Hazen Ames compromised over 100 CIA operations, enabled the execution of ten high-level sources, and helped plant disinformation which made its way to three United States presidents. An official investigation concluded he “caused more damage to the national security of the United States than any spy in the history of the CIA.” watch @praveenswami explains in @theprintindia #Explorer the most important lesson of the Ames case—which is how easy it was for him to get away with it. Like all bureaucracies, intelligence services—even the best ones—tend to be mired in process and procedure.

Shaped by adversity and hammered by time and circumstance, "The Rock" was chiseled into shape on the workbench of this world. What tools will God's carpenter use to get us into spiritual shape? Throughout the war on the Eastern Front, there were two consistent trends. The Red Army battled to learn how to fight and win, while involved in a struggle for its very survival. But by 1944 it had a leadership that was able to wield it with lethal effect and with far more effective equipment than before. By contrast, the Wehrmacht had commenced a slow process of decline after the invasion of the Soviet Union. Hitler became increasingly unwilling to delegate decision-making to commanders in the field, which had been crucial to earlier success. The long years of fighting had also taken a heavy toll. Thousands of irreplaceable junior officers and NCOs were dead, wounded or prisoners.Today’s guest is Prit Buttar, author of “Bagration 1944: The Great Soviet Offensive.” We look at these trends, which culminated in the huge battles of Bagration. In 1944, the Red Army finally put together a campaign that utterly destroyed the German Army Group Centre. The Wehrmacht suffered the loss of over 300,000 men killed, wounded or taken prisoner and the Red Army rolled forward across Belarus to the outskirts of Warsaw. The end of the war was still many months away, and the Germans managed to reconstruct their line on the Eastern Front, but final victory for the Soviet Union was now only a matter of time as a direct consequence of Bagration.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
