Liverpool earned a clinical 5-0 victory over West Ham United at London Stadium on Sunday evening in the Premier League. The Reds opened up a three-goal advantage at the half-time break following an impressive opening 45 minutes, which saw goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah. After the interval, Trent Alexander-Arnold added to the scoreline for Arne Slot's men, while substitute Diogo Jota put the finishing touches on the game in the latter stages, helping move Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the standings in style. Coming up in this podcast Arne Slot, Jarrell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas reflect on the impressive display in the capital. Former Reds Sammy Lee and Ronnie Whelan joined Becky Davis in the studio for LFCTV's post-match show, whilst Ray Houghton gave his analysis of the game from down at the London Stadium. Our fan panel contributors, Joel Richards, Mo Stewart and Jackie Willcox from the Official LFC Supporters' Club in Madrid, joined us remotely to give their thoughts on Liverpool's victory.
Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Today's Blood Red Podcast features Paul Gorst and Theo Squires. Pep Lijnders had plenty to say ahead of Liverpool's League Cup semi-final second leg trip to Fulham on Wednesday. The Reds boast a 2-1 aggregate lead ahead of travelling down to Craven Cottage, and they have been handed a welcome boost ahead of setting off to the capital with it confirmed that Andy Robertson has returned from injury and will be included in the matchday squad after a three-month absence. Lijnders also suggested return dates for Dominik Szoboszlai, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Kostas Tsimikas, while offering positive news on Curtis Jones. And he also shut down any criticism of Mohamed Salah while explaining the decision for the Egyptian to return to Liverpool prematurely from AFCON duty after suffering a hamstring injury. Liverpool 2.0 is really cooking under Jurgen Klopp so far this season and I'm a firm believer that it is largely down to one man - Dom Szoboszlai. I talk through a tactical analysis of what I've seen so far from the Hungarian at Anfield this season and how he and other Liverpool FPL assets are really great picks - especially Kostas Tsimikas. A massive THANK YOU for all your support watching, liking and sharing the Podcast! _________________________

As ever, the performances are assessed and the key moments analysed in what was a comfortable victory for Jürgen Klopp's men. Some of the discussion points include - the incremental improvement of Kostas Tsimikas as he finds a rhythm,; the twin threats and transformative talents of Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez; the self-advertised tactical influence of Pepijn Lijnders and the low-key way in which the Reds are keeping pace comfortably with the league leaders.
