But what does "leading with value" look like and why are so many producers and people in our community getting it wrong? For starters, it doesn't look like this: "hey I'm a huge fan of your work and wanna work with you at no cost. what can I do for you..." I get messages like this on Instagram all the time. So does my friend DJ Swivel, who's been able to work with Beyoncé, Jay-z, Kanye, Fabolous, and many other big names. Swivel told me that he really doesn't know what to do when people send him messages like that because he usually doesn't know what work he needs to give people in the first place. Instead, to start working with someone you look up to, try offering something upfront at no cost. More specifically, try to find a hole in someone's business or try to improve on something that that person could be doing better, and then offer something tangible to them. In my own business, Legion Beats, one of my team members started working with me simply by messaging me some hashtags that were outperforming the ones I was initially using on Instagram. From there, he started giving me more pointers and tips that would help me improve engagement on my social media account and yielded some pretty good results! See what I'm talking about? To get some more ideas on how you can lead with value to start working with more influential people, watch this podcast until the end! Inside he mentions one way you can lead with value if you want to start working with him too

In this episode we talk about creating incredible offers for artists, common marketing mistakes producers make and more.
At face value, they might not seem like they're worth much to most businesses (and to be honest I didn't see much value in them at first either)......but after Omari started explaining them to me, it's no surprise why some music producers like himself and Illmind have already started to leverage them. They're sort of like a stock that you would trade on a stock exchange, but for influencers and creators. So let's say I created a Creator Coin for my music production business, Legion Beats; if you wanted to support Legion Beats, you would put capital towards the Legion Beats Creator Coin. The value of the coin goes up and down, kinda like stocks fluctuate in the stock market, but with Creator Coins there's an added incentive for investing. That's because you can incentivize people who support your Coin, and one way you can do that is by rewarding people and giving them access to special content and deals only they have access to.Isn't that pretty sweet?I'd say so - I can't think of many other currencies that have this much power to build brand loyalty.DISCLAMIER: It's still a very new concept, though! That's why I highly suggest you start learning about it ASAP so you're ahead of the competition when more people start adopting it.Start taking your first steps by watching my discussion with Omari in the newest episode of the MM Podcast. Bennett, formerly E. Bennett, a transgender singer/rapper and songwriter. Raised in New York City, Bennett's passion for music started as young as 2 years old. Growing up in the chaos of the city, music helped raise him. With diversity around every corner, he soon fell in love with all genres of music. Early on, he gained inspiration from singers like Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson, and the artists out today like Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Drake. “Growing up transgender was not easy and what made it easier was having music with emotional and heart felt lyrics to be able to express what I could not.”In 2012, Bennett got his start as an entertainer when he was signed to Look A Likes USA as a Justin Bieber impersonator. He traveled all over the country performing Justin’s songs and dances in baseball stadiums and special events, all of which he sang live and carefully learned the dances to go with the songs. After his contract was up, he decided he was going to become his own artist and start making his own music.Having gone through many trials and tribulations, years of dedication and not giving up, he soon found his way to making music his life. He has gone on to work with artists like Bizarre from D12 and Dribbz, a talented artist from the U.K.; producers like Eldar-Q and Legion Beats. Having released 3 albums and much more music on the way, he is currently releasing his new docu-series called "Being Bennett" on YouTube, where he goes in depth about his life as a transgender musician. He looks forward to the next chapter in his music career as he continues to grow and mature as an artist.https://www.imbennettmusic.com

Today, I’m welcoming my first guest on the Midi Money Podcast. And who better to start things off with than the man who inspired me to learn about business and marketing - my man, Anno Domini.Years ago, as I was scrolling through my Facebook page, and I came across one of his videos that inspired me to try a different way of selling beats online. He opened up a completely new world for me, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.Back in the early 2000s, Anno was just starting out, and even then, the competition was mad. Pretty soon, it became impossible to make a breakthrough using the same approach as everybody else.By diving heavily into marketing and business, Anno Domini was able to reinvent the game and on more occasions than one. Today, he’s going to share his journey and explain how he used funnel-building, niche marketing, and various other methods to build his empire, also known as Anno Domini Nation.AD and I have collaborated many times over the years, and we recently came together once again to start Midi Money. Our goal is to introduce a new way of selling beats online to music producers and create a strong, supportive community where people can learn, grow, and build their business.I’m really hoping Anno’s story and approach have as big of an impact on you as it had on me all those years ago.Key Takeaways:How Anno Domini started selling beats online (1:48)What are funnels and how do they help you sell your music? I thought that if I just kept honing my skills, someone would take notice, and one day, my career would take off. When I realized that it wasn’t going to happen that way, it hit me so hard I nearly gave up. And today, I’m so grateful that I didn’t.I gave myself one last shot, and thankfully, I discovered Anno Domini and Russell Brunson, who showed me there was a better way. But in order to fully benefit from their fresh approach to online selling, I had to shift into a new mindset. This mindset is the main differentiator between those who give up and those who stick it out long enough to make it.In today’s episode, I’m going to explain exactly why 99% of producers fail to make a living from their music and share my thoughts on how to become the 1% who succeed.Key Takeaways:Why I almost gave up making beats for a career (0:42)My first step towards a crucial mindset shift (1:51)Adopting a new identity of a self-made producer (2:55)The main differentiator between those who fail and the few that end up making it (4:00)What gives music producers a crucial advantage for entrepreneurship? Welcome to the very first episode of the Midi Money Podcast. My name is Gabe Schillinger, the founder, and CEO of Legion Beats, and today I want to share my story with you.During my career, I was blessed to work with many incredible artists such as Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, and Too Short. But looking back, I still can’t fully grasp how hopeless everything seemed when I was just starting my journey.Years ago, I was living the classic life of a struggling music producer. I was living at my dad’s house, struggling to get by, and dealing with excruciating anxiety every single day. As my peers moved on with their lives, I felt like I was nailed down, still clueless about how to turn making beats into a viable career.Pushed to my very limits, I was ready to give up on my passion. But I’m so grateful that I didn’t.Today, I’m going to tell you all about how I managed to turn things around and ended up building a 7-figure business selling my beats online.I know there’s a lot of music producers who are just starting out and struggling, so I hope my story can inspire you.Key Takeaways:Welcome to the Midi Money Podcast (0:40)Humble beginnings and struggling to climb the music industry (1:43)How I got into selling my beats online (4:49)Discovering my mentors in Anno Domini and Russell Brunson (7:36)Getting into online marketing and entrepreneurship (9:07)Bursting my illusion about the limits of the online music industry (10:36)A crucial lesson I learned about progress (12:18)Additional Resources:Sign up for the giveaway: http://producergiveaway.comSign up for a FREE producer training at: https://midimoney.com/go--SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube:http://bit.ly/MidiMoneyYT--Please subscribe, rate, and review our podcast. Gabe Schillinger of Legion Beats and MidiMoney.com has built a music production business worth that's made over $2 Million, but it's not the traditional path of entrepreneurship you'd imagine. There weren't super high-profile albums, management or the regular gig. He built sales funnels to sell a subscription to his business, Legion Beats. There they sell beats you can use to produce your own music. Hear how he does it!

This episode I sit down with Kyle David, a friend of my stepson Benj, who works at Legion Beats. We talk about his journey from drinking too much, through rehab and how having a positive attitude has transformed his life. Legion Beats has had a lot to do with it too. I like to end on a funny story and this time we found out we both had kidnapping stories! You decide which one was the scariest!
Today I had the pleasure of talking with Gabe Schillinger. Gabe started his career working with 3-time Grammy Award Winner (including Producer of The Year) and multi-platinum producer Narada Michael Walden. For the past decade, Gabe has run one of the premier recording/production studios in The Bay Area, producing and engineering for artists like French Montana, Bun-B, B.O.B. Tech Nine and many more. He's also worked with a who's who list of Bay Area hip hop artists like E-40, Messy Marv, Too Short and many more and had music licensed on TV shows on VH1, MTV, E!, etc. Gabe runs most of the day to day operations of The Legion. In addition to contributing to the success of The Legion as a production team, he has also built the Legion Beats brand online to one of the most successful online production teams ever. Legion Beats was the first production team to do a six-figure launch, grossing $200K in 2 weeks selling beats online and setting a new record while raising the ceiling on what's possible for our industry. This episode, Gabe will share about how he got started since 2001 to where he is today, the growth and change he had through 2014 to 2015, the challenges he faced along the way, and lastly, he will be talking about what works and what doesn’t. Gabe Schillinger of Legion Beats has built a music production business worth that's made over $1.2 Million, but it's not the traditional way you'd imagine. There weren't super high-profile albums, management or the regular gig. He built sales funnels to sell a subscription to his business, Legion Beats. There they sell beats you can use to produce your own music. This is how he does it (and how he changed his offerings over time).
In this episode of Nomad Wolf, we're back with Gabe Schillinger of Legion Beats.Gabe has been working in the music industry since 2002 and had some pretty awesome breakthrough moments as a producer hearing his music on the radio, TV and even in stadiums like Oracle Arena. But the money was very inconsistent which made him consider facing the music and getting a real job. That all changed in 2014 when he decided to pivot and take on digital marketing skills to better sell his music as non-exclusive licenses. He was able to get at music's "middle class" of artists instead of aiming for the superstars. And things really started to take off when he came across Russell Brunson's clickfunnels system.Armed with knowledge of building a proper marketing and sales funnel, he was able to create irresistible offers like 5 free beats and slowly grow a community of buyers. And well after creating a viral content every Black Friday for the past 3 years, he was able to double and triple his revenue. The rest is history! For more in depth tactics behind Gabe's story, hope ya'll enjoy this episode. I know I did. Meet Gabe. He generated over $1,258,367 in online beat selling without a ton of subscribers or followers. You're probably wondering how he did it (yes that's over a Million dollars lol). Well, we spoke to the man himself about how you can too. This episode was exciting because it really put into perspective how powerful his methods are to start making some REAL $ online as a music producer. The method we're talking about is called a "sales funnel". You've probably been hearing about it here and there recently in the music production community. We dove into the pros (and cons) and what it takes to work up to that level selling beats online using "sales funnels". Really powerful stuff! My Best Friend Jacob Interview on the Producergrind Podcast. Another podcast live from LA. In this episode we talk to Jacob about his come up working as a producer and videographer and how he blended both worlds to create opportunities for him to monetize making beats. Most producers try to figure out "how to get placements" or the selling beats online route. Most of us are leaving a lot of opportunity and money on the table by not pursuing tv/film sync placements or film scoring projects. The dope thing about Jacob is the fact that he does all his fim scoring in FL Studio (including the new Travis Scott Documentary Look Mom I Can Fly. We also brought up some of Jacob's favorite producer advice from our Ryan Leslie interview as well as producer beat selling sales funnel advice from our Legion Beats interview 00:50 Working on the “Travis Scott Documentary” 3:57 Scoring “Look Mom I Can Fly In FL Studio”
