While in Seattle, Lindsey + Krista had the privilege of hanging out with one of the city’s most influential and controversial figures: Dan Savage, the bestselling author, sex columnist, and activist for the LGBTQ community. Dan was so incredibly authentic, honest, and open during this conversation, and we are so happy to have explored some topics that we’ve never had the opportunity to cover in our show. Sometimes these conversations aren’t just fun, but completely change the way we perceive our world – and this is definitely one of those episodes. You can find Dan sharing more of his thoughts and providing advice in the “Savage Love” column, his latest best-selling book American Savage, and in the Savage Lovecast. Dan doesn’t hold back and he has a lot to say, so get excited for some Savage Love! A few weeks ago, Lindsey + Krista had the pleasure of hosting a live conversation and Q+A with John Wineland, a transformational relationship expert, a spiritual intimacy teacher, and the guest on episode 96 + episode 97 of this show. John led the audience through a conversation about practicing the art of embodiment, intimate communication, and feeling for better relationships and a deeper connection in your love life. And as always, #ALMOST30NATION was so open and vulnerable with their questions. Questions answered touched on topics like intimacy and dating, the energetic dynamics of a relationship, sex, and so much more. (Of course, we’ll also be chatting all about it in the Secret Facebook Group!) We discuss… The 3 layers of sex: physical, emotional, & energetic Masculine essence + sex Yogic practices for strengthening your consciousness + turning your body into an invitation for love Do you have a masculine or feminine energy? Maybe both? Cultivating both your feminine + your masculine You can have a conscious one night stand How to live thriving, energized lives aligned with a deep purpose Invaluable tools that evoke the best from your partners for years to come How to reinvigorate relationships full of love, connection – and sex! Thais Sky is a truth speaker, healer, women's coach, and feminist on a heart-led mission to have important conversations at the intersection of feminism + spirituality, and today she’s re-joining Lindsey + Krista to once again tackle some really big questions: How can we begin to dismantle our unconscious biases? How can we all be better allies to one another? And how can we provide a safe space for more conversations like these? We are constantly striving to evolve ourselves and this show by bringing more diverse voices into the conversation –as always, we are learning right along with you all. So thank you for being to open and vulnerable This episode includes… Opportunities for growth Being addicted to our shitty thoughts + shitty people Trying not to compartmentalize our own spirituality Feeling unworthy of your own self-care We can't show up for others if we’re not showing up for ourselves. Everything is about power dynamics The governmental + societal systems that keep certain groups of people oppressed How white women contribute to + benefit from racism How we can REALLY educate ourselves about systematic oppression + privilege If you don’t look at a wound, if you don’t take care of it, it’s going to get worse As privileged white girls, what is our place in the conversation? With privilege comes responsibility Living in an emotionally illiterate culture “You can’t love other people until you love yourself” sounds really nice – but that’s not necessarily the case! Carly Stein lives and breathes bees. She is a beekeeper herself, an advocate for saving the bees (and our food supply) through sustainable beekeeping, and the Founder + CEO of Beekeeper’s Naturals. If you haven’t heard of it yet, Beekeeper’s Naturals is an incredible company with a simple purpose: to bring us the highest quality products from the hive and nurture a greater awareness for saving our bees. Their naturally-sourced superfoods are effective alternatives to some of your typical, chemical-based OTC medicines – and these superfoods have become an important part of Lindsey + Krista’s daily routines as of late, helping them feel their best by leveraging the magic of nature! Carly’s story also has a way of making you want to keep bees, too! Should we?!?! She’s so smart, so kind, and on a mission to #savethebees. This episode’s conversation includes… How propolis changed Carly’s life + not being able to find any in Vancouver inspired her to start Beekeeper’s Naturals Falling in love with beekeeping The female-driven bee society Why “organic” honey is actually extremely difficult to produce (even if it’s made on an organic farm) Why we’re losing a disproportionate number of bees – and why that’s a HUGE problem! All the bee products: propolis, pollen, honey, and royal jelly Why Carly washes her face with honey The benefits of CBD + how BKD created a unique CBD honey Building up the Beekeeper’s Naturals business Finding your dream job The hardest part of running BKN How you can turn your vision + passion into a business Learning to ignore the BS stories we tell ourselves that hold us back How Beekeeper’s Naturals will change the world (and how you can help) Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! You’ve probably already heard of Dave Asprey, or at least Bulletproof Coffee and the Bulletproof Diet. It’s pretty much grown from a trend to a phenomenon over the past couple years. Lindsey + Krista, honestly, didn’t quite know what Dave would be like in an interview – but Dave really showed up for this conversation and, as you’ll hear, he is truly passionate about the brand, the mission, and the movement behind Bulletproof. We were also able to ask a lot of your questions in this episode! We love being able to bring all of you into the conversation, before and after the episode. Last time Lindsey + Krista talked to Lacy Phillips, the creative spirit and Manifestation Advisor behind Free and Native, she taught us how to manifest our dream lives. It was a life-changing conversation and we are all honored by the incredible support that #ALMOST30NATION has offered Lacy since. But we had to have Lacy back on the show because she has come so far since we last spoke to her! One of Lacy’s gifts (and one of the reasons we love her so much) is that she’s an expander... she’s just so grounded and real, so comforting and inspiring, constantly holding a space for others to realize their own sense of self. We can’t say enough good things about her and we know this episode is going to change lives! We discuss… Overcoming whatever is blocking your opulence + abundance De-conditioning what we’ve learned about money Closing the portals in your life that don’t serve you Unblocking your shadow Filling the void in manifestation education Understanding the energetics of manifestation Finding expanders How to differentiate between a sign and a test An exercise you can do to tap into your body + practice intuiting The 4 elements of pure magnetism Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! This episode has pretty much everything you could want out of a podcast: it’s natural, hilarious, interesting, fun, and with just a little bit of poop. That’s because Krista + Lindsey got to sit down with Suzy Batiz, creator of Poo-Pourri. After her second bankruptcy at 40, Suzy embarked on a spiritual quest and discovered the lost art of tapping the body for stored creativity and ideas. She grew Poo-Pourri into a $300M+ business using a combination of somatic training, quantum physics, and interpersonal evolutionary processes, which she’s dubbed the Radical Resonance System. We definitely spend some time talking about the product and what it’s like to be a female founder, but things get a lot deeper than that – there’s even an absolutely incredible ghost story that Lindsey + Krista can not stop sharing at parties! And if you’ll be near Dallas on Tuesday, September 25th, you can catch Lindsey, Krista, and Suzy LIVE! Click here to get your tickets now!! This episode includes… Suzy’s awesome experiences with ayahuasca Healing the wounds of an abusive and tumultuous childhood Finding the light to physical and spiritual wellness Coming up with (and being drawn towards) the idea for Poo-Pourri Overcoming two bankruptcies Why Suzy never says she’s sorry for saying no The 4 signs of resonance Suzy’s relationship with fear + how she accepts those thoughts Bringing a conscious lifestyle into your business culture Conscious parenting Why there have to be aliens Talking about taboo topics + the (often hilarious) poop stories that Suzy hears every day Living in a church Suzy’s relationship with the spirits in her home How JP Sears has inspired Suzy Find more to love at almost30podcast.com! It was such a joy + a pleasure to interview Lauren Schulte, the CEO + Founder of The FLEX Company. We totally went there in today’s episode! From how to insert the disc, to experiencing painful vaginal infections, and even chatting about the way partners (without vaginas) say they feel about supporting women through PMS symptoms - we covered it all! Lauren shares with us how she suffered in silence with intense period pain and subsequent infections. When Lauren’s doctor informed her that tampon usage could be culpable for her chronic issues, she quit using them immediately and tried more than 30 alternative feminine hygiene products from all over the world (including the menstrual cup). Already a successful businesswoman herself, Lauren ditched her career in Silicon Valley to meet a HUGE need in the female healthcare market. Lauren decided it was time to invest appropriate resources into creating a solution to the period woes women all around the world could identify with. A perfect storm of personal experience and business + marketing smarts, Lauren’s initiative has changed the menstruation game with the best alternative to using tampons! We discuss… FLEX - A new period product called a “menstrual disc.” Tampons and menstrual cups, by design, “plug up” the vagina (causing cramping + bloating), while menstrual discs are meant to sit higher up, much like a diaphragm How FLEX can be left in for 12 hours AND you can have sex while it’s inserted - no infections or cramps! The change in environment, the shift in energy, and her breakup with her favorite bagel joint on 1st Ave in Manhattan, inspired mhere to commit to creating. NON-STOP. Whether she’s recording an episode of Almost 30, developing comedic sketches with talented friends, training for her next fitness shoot, or teaching high-energy, inspiring SoulCycle classes in Brentwood or Santa Monica, she’s committed to my growth and that of those around her. Also, if you have LA bagel shop recommendations, please let her know. Krista’s Bio: Krista lives in Venice, California, but she grew up in a small town in Ohio. After that, she spent a good chunk of her post-grad life living in both Chicago and New York City. She’s really into growth and personal development, a few passionate causes, and is a lover of all things that evoke a feeling or action. In her quest for mind/body/soul mastery, she’s become bit of a fitness freak, too. If she’s not blogging or podcasting, she’s usually planning a trip, polishing off a jar of peanut butter, or reading her horoscope.
"OH HI, HOW ARE YA? WHAT'S NEW?! OH EVERYTHING?"....Basically, how this episode starts. Krista and Lindsey are so in love with #almost30nation, wrapped around all of your lil fingers, that they have not made the time to actually sit down and catch the f*ck up! So they decided to lock themselves in the studio and do that. Krista just got back from a few weeks of traveling--she attended 100 weddings and tried to avoid talking about being vegan because LET HER LIVE. We get all of the travel deets and dont's. As we follow the convo, the girls get honest about their pet peeves, Lindsey's dating life, and thoughts on aliens. And then the conversation takes on a mind of it's own: Lindsey receives a sex toy box at work The Erewhon Chronicles WTF is happening at FB...Artificial intelligence going rogue!? Why communication between guys and girls is just the hardest thing you'll ever master And finally, they answer your questions! We cover morning routines, supplements, how they juggle all of the jobs, projects, hustles... Lindsey + Krista want to hear more from you! Like, tell them what has been up! New relationship? New Job? Nightmare wedding story? Addicted to English muffins? Can't train your boyfriend to pee in the toilet? Talk to us. Love you.
