Welcome to Coaching, Cocktails & Conversations with Lolita E. Walker. Today, we're talking about how to make the most of your season. We all have different seasons in life, whether it's a season of growth, a season of change, or a season of rest. Whatever your current season may be, it's important to make the most of it. In this episode, I leave you with six strategies to help you do just that: Minute 5:16 - Strategy number one: Slow down. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. But sometimes, the best thing you can do is slow down and take a breath. Take some time to reflect on your goals and priorities, and focus on what really matters to you. Minute 7:25 - Strategy number two: Experience newness and expect greatness. Don't be afraid to try new things and step out of your comfort zone. You never know what amazing opportunities may come your way if you're willing to take a chance. Minute 11:20 - Strategy number three: Articulate what you want and deserve. Be clear about your goals and aspirations, and don't settle for less than you deserve. When you know what you want, you'll be better equipped to make it happen. Minute 18:05 - Strategy number four: Support with a garnish and a garnish. Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage and support you along the way. And don't forget to treat yourself to something special every now and then. You deserve it! Minute 21:27 - Strategy number five: Optimize to profitize. Look for ways to optimize your time, energy, and resources so that you can achieve your goals more efficiently. When you're working smarter, not harder, you'll be able to achieve more in less time. Minute 23:35 - Strategy number six: Never give up because action will open doors. Remember, success is not always easy, but it is always possible. Don't give up on your dreams, no matter how difficult the journey may be. Keep taking action, and doors will eventually open for you. So there you have it - six strategies to help you make the most of your season. Remember, life is too short to waste time on things that don't matter. Focus on what's truly important to you, and make the most of every moment. Cheers to that! Ivory Tifa, Occupational Therapist, Poet and Kindness Doula joins Lolita E. Walker on this episode and it is soooo juicy. It challenges your thinking a bit and helps each of us say hmmmm. We are about to move a little differently after this episode here! Question: When you are at your lowest, do you think of kindness as that "thing" that will help you cope and heal through it all? Hmmm. #nojudgement but worth the thought. Ivory not only shares an original poem entitled, "Would you do anything differently?" but she also draws an intersection between therapy, healing and kindness. Imagine being near the World Trade Center during 9/11, in a city with no family and your dorm room in shabbles. Would your first thought be to gift kindness? You have to tune in. We talk everything from walking into purpose and passion, recognizing you've been moving in your zone of genius every day, without even knowing working with children at the border to help them cope with trauma, random acts of kindness that we can do TODAY, plus so much more. Show Breakdown: .038 - Intro of Ivory 1.50: Welcome 2.17: Powerful affirmation from https://www.lolitawalker.com/shop -" I am the kindness that pours into othes and I use the overflow to also replinish me." 3.53: COACHING, where Lolita leaves you with 4 reminders that kindness is gratitude in the giving. 8.20: COCKTAILS to celebrate the greatness of who each of you are 11.30: CONVERSATIONS with Ivory Tifa 26.13: Original Poem by Ivory Tifa Keep connected to Ivory: IG - @the_radiant_poet YouTube - Ivory Tifa Keep connected to Lolita: Women's Weekend Renewal Retreat - I hope to see you there. - https://www.lolitawalker.com/retreats Site: https://www.lolitawalker.com Book: https://www.lolitawalker.com/the-book TEDx: https://bit.ly/LolitaTakesTedx kindness, ivory tifa, lolita walker, healing, poet, poetry, purpose , power, therapy, affirmation, kind
Today's episode is a celebration of my dear friend Lolita Walker's podcast's first anniversary. I enjoyed joining the other three gentlemen, Mervin Bourne, Lamar Robinson, and Allan Boomer. In this episode, I talk with Lolita E. Walker about the power of sitting in your pause and how it “will revolutionize your mindset to action.” Lolita shares about her experience of transitioning into motherhood and bringing her infant son home after spending 52 days in the NICU. We dive deep into the importance of setting boundaries, communicating our expectations, starting our day with intentionality and the responsibility we have in shaping our children’s positive mindset. Lolita shares how she takes moments each morning to “create my space and [my son and I] communicate about it so that the expectations are set and he is a respecter of my space, similar to me to his space. Affirmations make up a big part of my DNA and I stand upon a strong foundation of faith. These bring intentional movements into my morning before we start the Walker & Walker routine.” Lolita is a small business owner, a published author, podcaster, and speaker but at the end of the day she’s a Change Champion. She wants to help you navigate where you are to where you absolutely DESERVE to be!
