Cravings can feel intense... like waves that rise and crash, demanding our attention. Whether it's food, substances, technology, or habits, these urges can easily pull us out of alignment with our values. But mindfulness offers a powerful path toward greater awareness, resilience, and choice. In this episode of the Mindfulness Exercises Podcast, we offer a guided meditation to help you observe cravings without judgment and respond with clarity and compassion. Rather than pushing cravings away or giving in, this practice supports you in riding the wave of the urge—grounded in presence and empowered by choice. In This Guided Meditation, You Will Be Invited To: ✔ Recognize the physical and emotional sensations of cravings ✔ Cultivate a non-judgmental awareness of urges as they arise ✔ Visualize cravings as passing waves in the vast ocean of your awareness ✔ Anchor your attention in the breath and body to create space between urge and action ✔ Reaffirm that you are not your cravings—you are the awareness observing them Whether you're a mindfulness teacher, therapist, or practitioner seeking support in your personal journey, this meditation offers a practical and compassionate way to manage cravings with mindfulness.

Review Lessons 81-90IntroductionWe are now ready for another review. We will begin where our last review left off, and cover two ideas each day. The earlier part of each day will be devoted to one of these ideas, and the latter part of the day to the other. We will have one longer exercise period, and frequent shorter ones in which we practice each of them. The longer practice periods will follow this general form: Take about fifteen minutes for each of them, and begin by thinking about the ideas for the day, and the comments that are included in the assignments. Devote some three or four minutes to reading them over slowly, several times if you wish, and then close your eyes and listen.Repeat the first phase of the exercise period if you find your mind wandering, but try to spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentively. There is a message waiting for you. Be confident that you will receive it. Remember that it belongs to you, and that you want it.Do not allow your intent to waver in the face of distracting thoughts. Realize that, whatever form such thoughts may take, they have no meaning and no power. Replace them with your determination to succeed. Do not forget that your will has power over all fantasies and dreams. Trust it to see you through, and carry you beyond them all.Regard these practice periods as dedications to the way, the truth and the life. Refuse to be sidetracked into detours, illusions and thoughts of death. You are dedicated to salvation. Be determined each day not to leave your function unfulfilled.Reaffirm your determination in the shorter practice periods as well, using the original form of the idea for general applications, and more specific forms when needed. Some specific forms are included in the comments which follow the statement of the ideas. These, however, are merely suggestions. It is not the particular words you use that matter.LESSON 81Review of Lessons 61 - 62Our ideas for review today are:(61) I am the light of the world. How holy am I, who have been given the function of lighting up the world! Let me be still before my holiness. In its calm light let all my conflicts disappear. In its peace let me remember Who I am.Some specific forms for applying this idea when special difficulties seem to arise might be:Let me not obscure the light of the world in me.Let the light of the world shine through this appearance. This shadow will vanish before the light.(62) Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world. It is through accepting my function that I will see the light in me. And in this light will my function stand clear and perfectly unambiguous before my sight. My acceptance does not depend on my recognizing what my function is, for I do not yet understand forgiveness. Yet I will trust that, in the light, I will see it as it is.Specific forms for using this idea might include:Let this help me learn what forgiveness means.Let me not separate my function from my will.I will not use this for an alien purpose.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reiterated the long-term and strategic nature of bilateral ties, pledging that China-Russia relations will not be disrupted by external factors or any third party. The two presidents made the statement on Monday during a telephone conversation, their second interaction within a month following a video meeting on Jan 21.Putin provided an update on the latest interactions between Russia and the United States, as well as Russia's principled stance on the Ukraine crisis. He emphasized Moscow's commitment to addressing the root causes of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and achieving a sustainable and lasting peace.Xi reaffirmed China's position on resolving the Ukraine crisis, saying that the Group of Friends for Peace on the Ukraine crisis, which was established in September by China and Brazil along with some other countries of the Global South, has been fostering an atmosphere and conditions for the political settlement of the crisis.China is glad to see Russia and relevant parties make positive efforts to defuse the Ukraine crisis, he said.Monday marked the third anniversary of the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.High-level delegations from Russia and the US held talks on the Ukraine crisis in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Feb 18. Both sides agreed to appoint special representatives to continue the talks between the two countries.Speaking at a regular news conference on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, "Since the full escalation of the Ukraine crisis, China has stayed in communication with relevant parties and been committed to building consensus for ending the conflict and paving the way for peace talks."China will always stand firmly on the side of peace, uphold an objective and fair position and continue to work with the international community to play a constructive role in advancing political settlement of the crisis, Lin said.On bilateral ties, Xi told Putin that history and reality have shown that China and Russia are good neighbors that cannot be moved away from each other, and true friends who share weal and woe, support each other and pursue common development. The China-Russia relationship enjoys strong internal driving forces and unique strategic value, and it does not target any third party nor would it be influenced by any third party, Xi noted. He emphasized that the development strategies and foreign policies of both countries are long-term.No matter how the international landscape changes, the relationship between China and Russia will move forward at its own pace, contribute to their respective development and revitalization, and inject stability and positive energy into international relations, he added.Putin expressed Russia's high regard for its relationship with China, saying that in the year ahead, his country looks forward to maintaining high-level exchanges with China and deepening practical cooperation.Putin added that Russia is willing to work with China to jointly commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).He pointed out that developing relations with China is a strategic choice made by Russia with a view to the long term. It is not an act of expediency, not affected by any temporary incidents, and not subject to interference by external factors, Putin said.He emphasized that in the current situation, close communication between Russia and China is in keeping with the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era, and will send a positive message that Russia and China play a stabilizing role in international affairs. The phone talks between the two presidents came just four days after the meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting. Both foreign ministers also reaffirmed the "unbreakable" friendship between China and Russia, and the countries' commitment to deepening strategic coordination.

Imagine two families, both immensely wealthy at the height of their fortunes. One family, the Vanderbilts, saw their immense wealth squandered within just a few generations. By the time they held their first family reunion a century later, not a single millionaire remained among them. In contrast, the Rockefeller family has continued to grow its wealth and influence across seven generations. What was one of the key differences? Family meetings. https://www.youtube.com/live/2eKMQKYyxEA The Rockefeller family prioritizes connection and communication, meeting twice a year with as many as 100 family members to stay aligned on their mission, vision, and values. This intentional practice has enabled them to preserve and grow their wealth over generations. Today, I want to share with you how you can implement the powerful practice of family meetings to strengthen your relationships, instill financial stewardship, and set your family on a path toward multigenerational success. Why Family Meetings MatterStructuring Family Meetings for SuccessWeekly Family Check-ins: Building Habits EarlyExecutive Leadership Meetings: Aligning as a CoupleFamily Summits: The Big PictureGovernance and Decision-Making: Preparing for ComplexityThe Ripple Effect of Family MeetingsStart Your Family Meeting Tradition TodayNext Steps Why Family Meetings Matter Whether you're just beginning your wealth-building journey or you're already managing a family enterprise, creating a system for effective communication is essential. Family meetings are more than just check-ins; they're a foundation for unity, collaboration, and intentional planning. In this article, I'll walk you through why family meetings are vital, the different types of meetings you can hold, and how to structure them for maximum impact. By the end, you'll have actionable tools to start your own family meeting tradition, no matter the stage of life you're in. Let's dive in. Structuring Family Meetings for Success Weekly Family Check-ins: Building Habits Early If you have young children, weekly family meetings are the perfect way to establish a rhythm of communication and problem-solving. Here's a simple framework we use in our home: Highs and Lows: Start by having each family member share the best and most challenging moments of their week. This fosters gratitude and empathy while helping everyone feel heard. Calendar Review: Go over the upcoming week's schedule. Discuss events, appointments, and any changes to the usual routine. Feedback and Improvements: Create space for family members to voice concerns and suggest ways to improve the week ahead. These meetings don't need to be long—five to ten minutes is enough. The key is consistency. By practicing this habit regularly, you're teaching your children invaluable skills in communication, decision-making, and teamwork. Executive Leadership Meetings: Aligning as a Couple If you're managing a household or business with a partner, a weekly “executive meeting” is crucial. During this meeting, you can: Review your finances, including spending, income, and progress toward financial goals. Plan your calendar and set priorities for the week. Discuss any challenges or decisions that require attention. This meeting ensures you're aligned as a couple and creates a foundation for leading your family effectively. Family Summits: The Big Picture For families with older children or adult children, an annual or quarterly family summit can be transformative. These larger gatherings provide an opportunity to: Reflect on the past year: Celebrate milestones, successes, and lessons learned. Plan for the future: Discuss family goals, upcoming projects, and financial strategies. Reaffirm your family's mission, vision, and values. Family summits are also an excellent time to educate the next generation about financial stewardship. You can share family history,

Because what we learn coming off of shmitah connects us to the goal of Hakhel! What are the messages of shmitah? Mitzvas shmitah is generally broken down into 3 parts. 1. Person has to rest 2. The land has to rest 3. The fruits that do end up growing during shmitah are ownerless, everyone can come and take them. Owner cant keep them. 3 messages of shmitah summed up: 1. I am not my own person, Hashem is in charge, I'm here to do what Hashem wants 2. Nothing in nature works on its own, its all run by Hashem 3. Nothing that i think is mine is really mine, it's all Hashems and Im Hashems Shliach to use it How do they connect with Hakhel? The portions of the Torah the King reads at Hakhel directly connects to these messages: 1. Shema - Kabalos Ol, Hashem is in charge of my world. You dont have to worry, i can be calm relaxed and happy 2. Vehaya - what makes things grow? When I follow the will of Hashem. What keeps us safe? Hashem! My missiles are my mitzvahs! 3. Maaser/Tzedakah - I don't even own it! Its hashems, I get to be Hashem's shliach and direct the money where it should go.Tzedakah is not out of goodness of my heart, its the RIGHT thing to do. This applies to every area for things we think we own. Hashems in charge, and we get to be the shliach! Our shlichus, a talent, our children, it's not for me and about me, it's what does hashem want me to do with THIS? Who gives us this message in the most powerful way possible? The melech! The king. As Chassidim we know what it means to be the Rebbe's messenger, to be botul to the King. Reaffirm these messages: Hashem takes care of me & my world. Let me seek out Hashem's mission. Stay in the world of Torah, take this experience and go back into my day to day life - but now with the messages of Shmitah/Hakhel - I can be calm, Hashem's got me, I can be happy, calm and present - put my efforts in, use my Hashem sense of direction, and not stress about the results. This week's host, Pat Leahy, is joined on the line by Irish Times Europe Correspondent Jack Power to discuss Taoiseach Simon Harris's visit to Ukraine earlier this week.Taoiseach Simon Harris met with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday to pledge €36 million in funding to humanitarian organisations operating in Ukraine, funding of a non-lethal character and therefore would not contravene Ireland's neutrality.Simon Harris also signed an agreement of understanding with Ukraine, a document reaffirming Ireland's long-term support for the eastern European country that is now 2½-years into its conflict with Russia. The Taoiseach met Zelenskiy in the capital Kyiv which, like several other cities there, continues to experience heavy Russian bombardment. The city now operates on a much-reduced energy supply, with households only having power for four hours per day, a result of strategic Russian strikes on power plants and other energy sources. Jack notes a palpable sense of fatigue in Kyiv, etched in the faces of Zelenskiy and people going about their day there. Also on this episode, Pat and Jack discuss the likelihood of Michael McGrath landing a prestigious portfolio under European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. Could von der Leyen's preference for gender balance scupper McGrath's prospects?Produced by John Casey with JJ Vernon on sound. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Trauma can often be dismissed or downplayed, even by those experiencing it. In this crucial episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton address the many faces of trauma and the importance of validating personal experiences, regardless of how they compare to others or the circumstances surrounding them. Understanding and Validating Trauma: Insights for First Responders provides a supportive discussion on recognizing and acknowledging trauma in all its forms, helping first responders understand their own experiences and those of their colleagues. Introduction to Trauma Validation: (Amazon Affiliate)  Explore the concept of trauma validation and why it's essential for healing and support, especially in first responder communities accustomed to facing extreme situations. Common Misconceptions About Trauma: Discuss common reasons people might feel their trauma isn't valid, such as believing others have experienced worse, thinking too much time has passed, or feeling responsible for what happened. Key Points of Validation: Trauma Is Not a Comparison Game: Acknowledge that trauma doesn't diminish because someone else's experience seems 'worse.' Each individual's emotional response to their experience is valid. Delayed Reactions Are Normal: Understand that it's common not to recognize the impact of a traumatic event immediately or to develop symptoms much later. Memory Gaps Are Typical: Discuss how fragmented memories or an inability to recall the event clearly are typical reactions to trauma, not indications that the event wasn't traumatic. Feeling at Fault: Address the feelings of guilt or responsibility often associated with traumatic events and why these feelings do not invalidate the experience. Individual Reactions Vary: Highlight that people react differently to similar events, and just because one person isn't visibly traumatized, it doesn't mean another's trauma isn't legitimate. Strategies for Self-Validation: Provide practical advice for first responders on how to validate their own experiences with trauma, including journaling, seeking peer support, and professional therapy. Supporting Others: Offer tips on how colleagues can support each other in validating and addressing trauma, emphasizing empathy, listening without judgment, and encouraging professional help when needed. Summarize the importance of acknowledging and validating trauma as a crucial step towards recovery. Reaffirm that all first responders' feelings and reactions are valid, deserving of recognition, and support. Reflect on your own experiences with trauma and consider if there are aspects you've downplayed or dismissed. Think about steps you can take to seek validation and support. Share your stories of overcoming trauma in the Tactical Living community to help destigmatize these discussions and build a more supportive environment for all first responders. Tune into this episode to deepen your understanding of trauma and learn how to better support yourself and your colleagues in acknowledging and healing from these profound experiences. Whether you're directly affected or supporting someone who is, this discussion is an invaluable resource for all first responders. All viewpoints discussed in this episode are for entertainment purposes only and are simply our opinions based off of our own experience, background and education. #traumarecovery #ptsd #ptsdrecovery #cptsd #policepodcast #policeofficer #leowarriors #thinbluelineusa #firstresponder #lawenforcementpodcast #LawEnforcement #LEOWarriors    ⩥ PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL ⩤ https://geni.us/wAtlvPu     CLICK HERE for Amazon's Today's Deals on TACTICAL GEAR: https://geni.us/KmvaOVM (Affiliate Link) (Ad) Some product links are affiliate links which means if you buy something by clicking on one of our links, we'll receive a small commission.   CLICK HERE to join our free Police, Fire, Military and Families Facebook Group: https://geni.us/YM5tsB   Check out our website and learn more about how you can work with LEO Warriors by going to: https://www.leowarriors.com/   Like what you hear? Turkey's bid to join the BRICS trading group is the latest move in the Turkish President's delicate balancing act between Western and Eastern allies. The recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Almaty, Kazakhstan, provided a platform for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet in person.Their encounter was marked by a display of cordiality, with both leaders appearing at ease and Putin emphasizing the significance of their bilateral relationship.Active engagementPutin, standing alongside Erdogan, stated, "We continue to actively engage on crucial matters of international politics." He further added, "Our communication is constant, and our respective ministries and departments regularly share information and align our stances on key issues." Erdogan was observed nodding in agreement with these remarks. Turkey set on rebuilding bridges with China to improve trade How Turkey's support for Ukraine is a double-edged swordAccording to reports, a notable topic on the leaders' agenda was Turkey's aspiration to join BRICS, an economic alliance comprising Russia, China, and several nations from Asia, Africa, and South America. This potential membership represents a significant shift in Turkey's international alignments.Atilla Yesilada, a Turkey analyst at GlobalSource Partners, explains, "A core principle of BRICS is reducing the dollar's role in mutual trade, which aligns with Turkey's interests." He argues that BRICS membership complements Turkey's broader foreign policy objectives, stating, "The concept of a new platform fostering trade among geographically distant countries naturally appeals to Turkey and fits its foreign policy stance."Yesilada suggests that Turkey's BRICS bid serves an additional purpose: "It signals to Putin that Turkey intends to maintain and strengthen its growing commercial ties with Russia." This comes despite Putin's recent cautions to Turkey regarding its efforts to improve relations with its traditional Western allies. The Russian leader strongly supports Turkey's BRICS membership bid. Ceren Ergenc, a China specialist at the Centre for European Policy Studies, posits that Moscow views Turkey's potential BRICS membership as a strategic move to balance Beijing's increasing influence within the group.Turikey and BRICSPutin strongly supports Turkey's BRICS membership bid. Ceren Ergenc, a China specialist at the Centre for European Policy Studies, suggests this support is part of Moscow's strategy to counterbalance Beijing's growing influence within BRICS.Ergenc explains, "BRICS has become China's domain, with recent membership invitations primarily extended to countries China seeks closer ties with, effectively sidelining Russia and India as the group's other major powers."Turkey's pursuit of BRICS membership coincides with its stalled EU accession process, hampered by Turkey's non-compliance with the EU's Copenhagen Criteria on human rights. This impasse is reportedly affecting Turkey's trade relations with the EU. Atilla Yesilada, a Turkey analyst, notes, "Erdogan's frustration with the EU's lack of progress on Turkey's accession and customs union update contributed to the BRICS bid."However, Yesilada argues that Turkey's interest in BRICS transcends Erdogan's presidency, reflecting a broader foreign policy strategy. He states, "This aligns with Turkey's overarching policy goal, widely supported by the country's policy establishment, of maintaining independence from any single political bloc, be it Western or Eastern."As Erdogan prepares to attend the NATO summit in Washington, where he's expected to reaffirm Turkey's Western security commitments, analysts view the BRICS bid as a clear indication that Ankara is diversifying its international partnerships beyond its traditional Western allies.

Navigating the rough seas of trauma can leave a deep imprint on our spiritual compass, and this is the voyage I embark upon with heartfelt vulnerability in today's podcast. Drawing from the profound insights of Janyne McConnaughey's "Trauma in the Pews," I peel back the layers of how my own spiritual journey transformed post-divorce, and how trauma can challenge the very pillars of faith—meditation, prayer, fasting, and more. For those of us who have felt like outsiders within the walls of organized religion, this discussion unearths the ways we can reclaim our spiritual practices, forging a path that honors our experiences and fosters healing. As we turn the pages of Janyne's "Trauma in the Pews," a book that has cast a beacon of understanding amidst the fog of spiritual guilt and the complexities of God's love, I share a candid review that touches on the scars left by religious differences and scripture misuse in my past marriage. The insights gleaned here are not just my own; they are an open invitation for you to explore the darker facets of our beings within the safe sanctuary of acceptance. And with anticipation, I reveal plans to welcome Janyne onto the podcast, eager for her to share her wealth of knowledge in neuroscience, trauma, and education that has been pivotal in both her writing and my own spiritual growth.Trauma in the Pews: The Impact on Faith and Spiritual Practices Paperbackby Janyne McConnaugheyLoneliness Roadmap on HeartBeatPost Divorce Roadmap - 21 Days of Guided JournalingFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MyCoachDawnInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/dawnwiggins/On the Web: https://www.mycoachdawnA podcast exploring the journey of life after divorce, delving into topics like divorce grief, loneliness, the impact of different attachment styles and codependency, setting healthy boundaries, energy healing with homeopathy, managing the nervous system during divorce depression, understanding the stages of divorce grief, and using the Law of Attraction in the process of forgiveness.

So how do you live out your faith when culture shifts? Daniel 1:7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. 1. Culture wants to CHANGE your IDENTITY. DANIEL-“God is my judge” Belteshazzar- “Lady, protect the King” HANANIAH- “Yahweh has been gracious” Shadrach- “I am fearful of God” MISHAEL- “Who is what God is?” Meshach- “I am despised, contemptible and humiliated.” AZARIAH- “Yahweh has helped” Abednego- “Servant of Nebo” When culture shifts, you have to know WHO YOU ARE. Daniel 1:8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 2. Culture wants you to COMPROMISE your STANDARDS. When culture shifts, we must REAFFIRM our CONVICTIONS. Daniel 1:9-10 Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel,   but the official told Daniel, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.” Daniel 1:11-14 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,   “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. 3. Culture will always CREATE a CONFRONTATION. When culture shifts, we must respond the RIGHT WAY. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. TRUTH: God's standard. John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. GRACE: God's favor. Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Without truth, we are CORRUPT. Without grace, we are all CONDEMNED. Without truth, we become WORLDLY. Without grace, we would become JUDGMENTAL. Truth without grace is MEAN. Grace without truth is MEANINGLESS. Truth and grace is good MEDICINE. Grace INVITES us to be free. Truth SETS us free. John 8:3-11 NLT   As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.   “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery.   The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”   They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.   They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”   Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.   When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.   Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?”   “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/coastalchurch/message

Welcome back to the daily mastermind... Today we're going to delve into the concept of acting in spite of our mood, a fundamental pillar of prosperity.    The Prosperity Pillar #3: Act in Spite of Your Mood Embracing the Warrior Mentality In the words of the legendary Bruce Lee, "The successful warrior is the average man with laser-like focus." This quote encapsulates the essence of acting in spite of our mood. Despite our emotions and external circumstances, we must learn to cultivate unwavering focus and determination.   Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Growth Life is filled with challenges and obstacles that can sometimes hinder our progress. The key to surpassing these hurdles lies in our ability to push through our feelings. Whether it's tackling mundane tasks or pursuing our passions, we must develop the resilience to act despite any emotional resistance.   It's Not About You, It's About Impact One effective way to overcome feelings of insecurity or fear is by shifting our focus away from ourselves and towards others. By making our actions about the impact we can have on the world, we find the motivation to press forward even when our mood may be holding us back. Let go of self-doubt and embrace your ability to create positive change in the lives of others.   Strategies for Acting in Spite of Your Mood   Set Goals for Clarity and Direction Setting clear goals provides us with a sense of purpose and direction.
