I'm leaving the US for Spain, because the enchantment of possibility here is too far from reality. This journey takes courage, resources, and a sane level of desperation to achieve, but it is what is right for me and my family at this time. This is the “find out” period we've all been anticipating, and it takes backbone to engage honestly. On May 5, Let's Give A Damn co-sponsored an event in NYC called Palestine: The Moral Issue Of Our Time with Gabor Maté and Chris Hedges. It was a sold-out event with 800 attending in persons and hundreds more attended online via our livestream. Most importantly we raised tens of thousands of dollars for Middle East Children's Alliance! MECA works to protect the rights and improve the lives of children in the Middle East through aid, empowerment and education. In the Middle East, MECA provides humanitarian aid, partners with community organizations to run projects for children, and supports income-generation projects. In the US and internationally, MECA raises awareness about the lives of children in the region and encourages meaningful action. This is a unique podcast episode where I'm not interviewing anyone. It's just Gabor and Chris. Oh, and the wonderful Aaron Maté introducing these legends. Listen! Be inspired! Take action! Give A Damn!✅ Donate to MECA! They're incredible.✅ Follow Gabor Maté on Instagram.✅ Purchase Gabor's book, The Myth of Normal.✅ Follow Chris Hedges on Instagram.✅ Purchase Chris's new book, A Genocide Foretold.--------------------✊

There is nothing comfortable about this moment of growth, but here we are. Now is a time to say your truth, to return to what works in community, and to spread a sense of stability instead of urgency. Our society is up for grabs right now, which means it matters more than ever what you do or don't do.Give what you can to this GoFundMe to provide hot meals to Palestinian children in north Gaza: https://www.gofundme.com/f/Hot-meals-in-gaza-daily Donate to www.anera.org and if you are in the US go to www.uscpr.org and www.jvp.org for education and prompts for taking action to support Palestine.

As organizations run out of funding and cut their DEI programs, we have to ask ourselves how we are going to make sure that those necessary functions are still available to our communities. Trev Alberts hired a basketball coach over the weekend, and Aggie fans are coping HARD with the decision. We thank MECA for their hard work. And you once again try to tell us to talk about The Crown.
Cory Booker broke the record for longest speech in the Senate, speaking about truth, love, and moral dedication. In 2009, David Lawrence took a job as an assistant strength coach at the Poliquin Performance Center and saw first hand the methods of Charles Poliquin (The Poliquin Principles) were producing more results with top professional and Olympic athletes than anywhere else in the world. “Guys were making more progress in one offseason that I had seen most athletes make in an entire college career. In 2012, David started MECA based around the teachings and training methodologies of Charles Poliquin and has taken more than 20 seminars and courses with him. Since the inception of MECA, our coaches have worked with athletes in 25 sports with multiple athletes in the NFL, NHL, professional soccer, and other Olympic Sports. Our clients will on average make more progress in speed, strength, and vertical jump in 3 months than they have in the last 3-5 years training on their own or with another program. In 2015, MECA teamed up with Tri-Covery Massage and Flexibility to create a one-of-a kind performance and recovery center in Novi, Michigan. Tri-Covery is home to some of the best Fascial Stretch Therapists (FST) in the Midwest. It is not uncommon for clients to see more improvement in flexibility and range of motion in one or two sessions than stretching on their own for 12 weeks. Combining that with the personal training and performance side of things, you are getting something truly special when you come into our facility.

We've all seen the meeting between Zelenskyy and 45/47 by now. Their respective behaviors in that meeting were telling about their relationship to their humanity. We have to recognize how much of our responses are tied to our relationship with oppression at the level of our personal identities. We must operate from our humanity to deal with the current moment and imminent future. We're a month into this new reality and it is time to talk about hope. The importance of hope, the importance of joy. The hope that we can come together and grow our community with joy in the face of these wild new challenges. The time to think about it has passed, now is the time to get it together and join with each other in solidarity. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”But a loving reminder, dear Heathens, it does not bend by itself. Our deeds are the force that bends it, or not. This is a great star to contemplate the arc from your foolish youth, to your present state, to whatever you might become in the future.Notes and charts for each week's podcast are available for Patrons at the Mercury level and higher.Want to support this work? The Wheel turns, and The Wheel turns. Here we go again, for the first time! Our New Moon in Aquarius always kicks off a Lunar New year, but this year, it's also in alignment with Imbolc. This is a Sabbat and season of fog, dreams, abstraction, and breaking up the old forms to make way for the new. This work can be confusing, enlightening, and destabilizing. The New Moon in Aquarius is our yearly check in on our process of coming into alignment with our future, and the possibilities out in front of us. Goddesses like Brigid and Saraswati lend their skills and intellect to this work. The astrology of this week supports this work - in particular, sending a petition of hope out to the Universe - if we can only stay open to receiving the responses. In this episode we cover: the astrology and Lunar work of the week, accompanying Tarot, the Celtic Tree Month, the Runic Half Month, and tons more.Notes and charts for each week's podcast are available for Patrons at the Mercury level and higher.Want to support this work? On the eve of change in the US, we are looking at what has come before and what is coming next for our freedoms, rights, and communities. From TikTok bans to RealIDs, we need to reckon with how we got here, the people and behaviors we tolerate as a community, and the truth of who is on our side and who isn't. Who is your community, truly? There is no more time for convincing.
