Earlier this year, a spate of news stories told of chatbot users travelling through the looking-glass right into Conspirituality. Paranoid conspiracies, spiritual awakenings, even falling head-over-heels in love with the simulated personalities of large language models like ChatGPT. Could AI have finally crossed the threshold into autonomous sentient consciousness? Could it be that chatbots were anointing new prophets—or, conversely, that very special users were awakening their very special friends via the power of love and illuminating dialogue? Step aside, QAnon, the code behind the screen is illuminated by God! Sadly, some of these stories trended very dark. Suicides, attempted murder, paranoid delusions, spouses terrified of losing their partners and co-parents to what looked like spiritual and romantic delusions. For this standalone installment of his Roots of Conspirituality series, Julian examines this strange new phenomenon, then takes a detour into Ancient Greece and the oracle at Delphi to show that everything old is actually new again—just dressed up in digital technology. Japan's overall suicides fell to 20,320 in 2024, the second-lowest figure on record, but the number of schoolchildren who took their own lives rose to a record 529, government data showed. Suicides among junior high school students reached their highest level since statistics began in 1980, with school-related problems cited as the leading cause. The 2025 White Paper on Suicide Prevention noted that overdoses, including those involving over-the-counter drugs, were a major factor among young people, prompting plans to tighten restrictions on drug sales to minors. Despite the nationwide decline, experts warn the record student suicides reflect deepening mental health and social issues among Japan's youth. Veterans Day, which is less than a month away, is a time to honor and reflect on those who've served. Yet statistics reveal a troubling reality: Veterans are dying by suicide at 1.5 times the rate of the general population. Suicide is now the second leading cause of death among veterans under 45.Craig Bryan, clinical psychologist, Iraq War veteran, and author of “Rethinking Suicide: Why Prevention Fails and How We Can Do Better,” joined hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter to share critical research and real-world ideas for change.Bryan challenges the long-held assumption that suicide prevention depends solely on mental health treatment. His work shows that more than half of veterans who die by suicide lack a prior mental health diagnosis, and that firearm safety, access to services, and new therapeutic models can make a real difference.“Many of us were trained in firearm safety on the range. Now, we need to bring that same responsibility into our homes,” Bryan said. This interview provides insights about how we engage with prevention and care for those who've served, including research on rapid escalation of suicidal crises. Bryan also highlights the life-saving potential of brief cognitive behavioral therapy (which has shown reductions in attempts of up to 60% in trials).Originally broadcast June 18, 2024.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Explanations have ranged from strong animal scents to supernatural forces, but no one has ever fully solved the puzzle. In this episode, we explore the strange history of Overtoun Bridge and the enduring mystery behind the so-called dog suicides.

Firearm-related suicides are a hidden public health emergency driven by social despair and systemic inequities. In this episode of Straight Out of Health IT, WellLink's Brian Lane, President and CEO, and Dr. Kim Byas, Vice President of Community Engagement and Impact, share how the Center for Health Affairs in Cleveland partnered with AWS to launch a groundbreaking Social Determinants of Health Innovation Hub. Using clean, harmonized data and predictive modeling, their team has uncovered powerful correlations between firearm suicides and factors like unemployment, housing insecurity, and lack of transportation. This data-driven approach is transforming suicide prevention efforts from reactive to proactive. They discuss how this work has led to targeted interventions, such as deploying trained social workers instead of law enforcement to crisis calls, and inspired replication of the model in other states and internationally. With over 250 organizations collaborating across sectors, the initiative is creating scalable solutions that address both behavioral health crises and their root causes.Brian and Dr. Byas also reveal how AI and large language models are being used to test interventions, improve care pathways, and reduce healthcare costs, all while strengthening community resilience. Their work proves that solving complex health challenges requires both advanced technology and deep community partnerships.Tune in to hear how data, collaboration, and innovation are reshaping the future of suicide prevention!
Over 20 severed human feet have mysteriously washed ashore along the coastlines of British Columbia and Washington since 2007—each one inside a sneaker. With no matching bodies, and no clear foul play, the phenomenon captured global attention and ignited a firestorm of urban legends, hoaxes, and theories. In this gripping true crime deep dive, we explore the eerie timeline of these chilling discoveries, uncover the forensic science that explains how feet can naturally disarticulate, and examine the media frenzy that turned a natural phenomenon into modern-day folklore. Was it a serial killer? A string of tragic accidents? Or something even stranger? We're telling that story tonight

Josh Sigurdson reports on the news of a shooting at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia which lead to the death of a police officer as well as the shooter, Patrick Joseph White, 30. The shooter targeted the CDC headquarters following a vaccine injury after he apparently was pushed to get the shot which lead to mental illness issues including suicidal thoughts and clearly homicidal tendencies. The police had been contacted weeks before the shooting due to the shooter expressing suicidal and violent thoughts. Responding officer David Rose of DeKalb County police was the sole person killed. He had two young children. This is of course tragic and is the opposite of getting "justice," but it is also important to point out that this is a common thread we have been talking about for years at WAM. There is an abundance of evidence that people who were injected were mentally affected. Suicides skyrocketed after the injections and violence has been tied to the shots many times in the past with people losing their mental faculties. Then there is the issue of nanotech in the vaccines which could work as a sort of Manchurian Candidate experiment. We know the CIA has openly acknowledged their use of nanotechnology to manipulate people's minds in the past and there is an abundance of evidence including microscopic findings and parents directly tied to the Moderna vaccines that seems to show these injections certainly contained such nanotech. This is happening while people clearly feel there has been no justice gained regarding the mass injection and murder of millions of people. Currently, all they've done is add a warning to the vaccines saying they could cause heart attacks. All the while, they just approved a new Moderna mRNA vaccine for children ages 6 months to 11 years old. Chelsea Clinton posted an article by the New York Times claiming that so-called "vaccine misinformation" is leading to violence. The media is chomping at the bit to crack down on those who oppose deadly injections. California hospitals have been caught covering up a massive surge in stillbirths following injection. A whistle-blower pointed out that they saw around one stillbirth per month pre shot. Following injections, that number had risen to approximately 20 stillbirths a month. This was hidden from the public. This is leading to vaccination rates hitting a record low right now and shows people are angry, but again, there is no justice and violence certainly isn't justice. New Bird Flu fearmongering is coming in with media claiming it is "spreading through the air." Labs are allegedly creating a hybrid bird flu for new vaccines which sounds like a hoax, but nonetheless continues the normalization surrounding the claimed illness which is leading farms to injeft their food livestock with mRNA which then finds its way to your grocery store shelves. With the largest ever pandemic simulation happening this fall, be prepared. This isn't over yet. The manufactured plandemic psyop is still seen as one of the best ways to control the public. “Veterans are not being told the risk of their medications,“ says Derek Blumke. “Doctors themselves are not aware of the risks of those medications.”Derek Blumke served 12 years in the US Air Force and Michigan Air National Guard and is a longtime advocate for veterans. A bad experience with psychiatric drugs changed his life trajectory. He has been sounding the alarm about suicide and the overprescription of psychiatric drugs among veterans.“If we're going to treat a firearm with respect that we should and we do, which is making sure there's a safety on, making sure the weapon is not always loaded, don't point at people, this is a similar thing. If one of these medications can cause you to harm yourself or others, you should be told of that. And right now, we're not,” he says.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
