The Miami Hurricanes were beaten soundly by the Pittsburgh Panthers, 42-16, in the 2022 season finale. The Hurricanes will miss out on bowl eligibility with a 5-7 season. Hurricanes starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke got injured on Miami's opening drive and the offense never got out of first gear after that. Jacurri Brown replaced TVD, but was later replaced by Jake Garcia after throwing a bad interception. Garcia threw for 198 yards with 2 touchdown passes and zero interceptions. Miami's defense gave up over 40 points for the 5th time this season.  Host Alex Donno shares his regrets for seeing the Canes seniors going out on such a low note. Senior TE Will Mallory was one of the few bright spots for The U, with 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. Donno lays out the blueprint for a complicated offseason. Miami will likely see dozens of players leave in the transfer portal. Can they replace those departures with replacements who better fit the scheme and the attitude expected? Can the Hurricanes close out a strong class of 2023 in recruit despite so many poor results on the field? Donno wonders what might be the rumored big fish the Hurricanes land within the next week. There have been several cryptic reports from Hurricanes content creators that the Canes are about to pull something impressive in the trail. Could it be 5-star OT Samson Okunlola? Could it be 5-star WR Brandon Inniss flipping from Ohio State? Could it be 4-star RB Mark Fletcher or 4-star CB Damari Brown? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Miami Hurricanes will host the Pittsburgh Panthers on senior night at 8pm on Saturday, November 26th, 2022. The Hurricanes will need to win one more game and finish 6-6 to assure bowl eligibility. We won't know until shortly before game time if sophomore starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will be cleared to play. He has been nursing a throwing shoulder injury since late October. Miami will need to contain Pitt star running back Israel Abanikanda, who has rushed for over 1,300 yards in 10 games played this season.  Host Alex Donno discusses Miami's keys to victory and what sort of attitude can we expect from the Canes on senior day? The Panthers have been a jekyll and hyde team as well, looking great in some of their wins but suffering a head-scratching home loss to Georgia Tech, who Miami beat soundly. Donno gives his Canes Football stock report for this week. Find out why we are BUYING stock in Kam Kinchens, Tyler Van Dyke, Will Mallory, Andy Borregales and Lou Hedley.  Donno takes a look at the odds for Pittsburgh at Miami from our partners at BetOnline. Will the underdog Canes cover a 6 and a half point spread? Will Alabama and Georgia both cover HUGE spreads in their rivalry games this week? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Florida State Seminoles football team has shown vast improvement on the field, and it's being noticed by recruits, including their latest commitment, four-star quarterback Brock Glenn, a flip from Ohio State. The 6'2, 195 pound Glenn attends Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, and has a four-star rating from the 247 Sports Composite List. The sites consider him the 378th best player in his class (22nd best QB and 12th best player in Tennessee). Norvell leaned hard on his Memphis connections when recruiting Glenn and his family, and the Seminole staff kept in contact with the gunslinger despite his verbal commitment to OSU. That persistence paid off in a big way today, as the ‘Noles finally have their QB for #Tribe23. Glenn, who officially visited Florida State in June, also checked out the Auburn Tigers and TCU Horned Frogs, before eventually choosing Ohio State. He holds 30+ offers from teams such as the Cincinnati Bearcats, Duke Blue Devils, Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, Kansas Jayhawks, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, Minnesota Gophers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Missouri Tigers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Pittsburgh Panthers, Virginia Cavaliers, and Virginia Tech Hokies. The Three Stars got together for another instant reaction edition of the Florida State of Recruiting podcast to discuss the 2022 quarterback commitment. On this episode, we break down FSU's newest addition to #Tribe23 and what he can bring to the Seminole QB room. But the fun does not stop there, as we give our thoughts on how the class could finish, while discussing future recruiting ramifications, as well, with a strong finish to the season. Quarterback Drake Maye continues to impress and force his name into national conversations and Heisman consideration. WRs Josh Downs and Antoine Green achieved something never before accomplished at UNC. Mack Brown's team is now in the driver's seat in the ACC Coastal Division and needs just two more victories to clinch a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The defense once again did just enough to keep their opponent at bay. Pitt's star running back Israel Abanikanda had over 100 rushing yards, but was held below his season average. Kaimon Rucker had multiple key plays to help set the tone as the team turned things around in the second half. Despite the Louisville Cardinals defeating the Pittsburgh Panthers 24-10 on Saturday evening, Dalton believes that two takeaways are becoming increasingly clear. 1) The concerns surrounding the Louisville offense are valid. Now seven games into the season, the team has still consistently struggled with inconsistency throughout games, penalties, play-calling issues, and more. 2) Trevion Cooley deserves more carries moving forward The Louisville running back has rushed for over 70 yards in the past two games, and Scott Satterfield‘s staff should continue to increase his workload to try to drive up the offensive momentum for the team moving forward. In the final segment, Dalton conducts the weekly mail bag. Title Sponsor- SlingTV This episode of Locked On Louisville is brought to you by Sling TV. Dalton begins the show by explaining what is at stake for the Louisville Cardinals in the Saturday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Panthers. The game is an opportunity to create momentum and get one step closer to bowl eligibility. A loss would make it very improbable for the team to get to six wins, thus putting Scott Satterfield's job security in even more jeopardy. Dalton also identifies what he is wanting to see from both the Louisville offense and defense in the last half of the season. He is looking for the offense to stop wasting drives due to penalties, and start converting more often in the red zone. He also believes that Malik Cunningham can take his game to the next level and vastly improve over the next six games. On the defensive side, it is all about the secondary. Despite the pass rush vastly improving this season, the Cardinals' secondary has still been vulnerable. Dalton is looking for a schematic change that will put the team's defensive backs in better positions to succeed. Title Sponsor- BetOnline Today's Episode is brought to you by BetOnline. The Cardinals' defense is tasked with limiting a high-powered Pittsburgh rushing attack, one that is critical to the overall offensive success. 2) Make things uncomfortable for Kedon Slovis Slovis has not lived up to expectations since arriving in Pittsburgh; when forced to win games through the air, the Panthers have struggled. It is critical that the Louisville defense forces Pittsburgh into frequent third-and-long situations in which Slovis has consistently pass well. 3) Get the passing attack going The Louisville passing attack has been pedestrian through the first six games, and this matchup is a solid opportunity to build confidence and get the passing game on track. On top of that, Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the country when it comes to recording sacks, so the Cardinals' offensive line will need to provide a clean pocket for Malik Cunningham and the rushing committee. Dalton is joined by Locked On Pitt's Nick Farabaugh for a special Locked On Crossover podcast. The duo explain why the football matchup between the Louisville Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Panthers is a must-win game for both teams, but for different reasons. Both teams possess a rushing attack that will look to set the tone and impose their respective wills on the contest on Saturday. With star quarterback Malik Cunningham back, the Cardinals will look to start the second half of the season off strong, while Kedon Slovis and the Panther offense also have their sights set on getting the passing game going. At the end, they explain why they're both predicting a Pittsburgh victory, while acknowledging that it wouldn't be a surprise if either team won.
