July 4th, 2022 will be added to the days of legendary Brewer walk-offs in the team's history. Saying the game was a thriller is simply selling it short. This game had everything: an inside-the-park home run, a redemption arc, a revenge arc, a bounce-back performance, an "ice in his veins" outing, the best pitch in baseball, and so much more. Simply put, Victor Caratini hit a walk-off three-run homer in the tenth inning to give the Brewers a 5-2 win in the series opener with the Cubs. The catcher connected on his second career walk-off homer and the Brewers' second walk-off homer this season. Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) takes you through the zany recap, five plays you may have forgotten about, and tries to make sense of the current lineup and roster. We also saw the debut of Pedro Severino in his return from his 80-game PED suspension. There is a lot to unpack, sit tight and enjoy an extended episode of Locked On Brewers! Happy Fourth of July! The Brewers split the series with the Pirates thanks to their sixth shutout of the season on Sunday led by Brandon Woodruff. The starter handled six strong innings with eight strikeouts and no walks to continue his strong form since he was activated off the injured list. Woodruff's battery mate Omar Narvaez supplied the only offense needed in the 5th with a two-run no doubt 427 foot blast - the longest homer of his career. All in all, most fans won't be happy with a 2-2 split with the Pirates. Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) goes through the biggest moments of the weekend and gives plenty of roster updates such as Adrian Houser, Pedro Severino, Tyrone Taylor, and more. Next, the Brewers return home for a six-game homestand over the next seven days - three apiece with the Cubs and the Pirates. The Brewers got well with a three-game sweep in Cincinnati, and a new homestand is about to kick off with a bang -- four games against the team with whom the Brewers are tied for first place in the Central, the St. Louis Cardinals. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak and host JR Radcliffe take a look at some of the past week's key contributors but spend a lot of time talking about Lorenzo Cain, whom the Brewers designated for assignment this week after a strong four-plus year run with the Brewers. Plus: What happens when Pedro Severino is ready? What are the thoughts on the City Connect jerseys? Craig Counsell reaches a milestone, a controversial send at third base and a Remembrew When that looks back at a different alternate jersey issue back in 1977. Then, JR chats with Bally Sports Wisconsin host and former Brewers utility man Vinny Rottino, gauging his impressions on the upcoming draft, his own journey to the big leagues, his pivotal role in a wild 2007 game, stories about Craig Counsell and Prince Fielder and his impression of the current team. Co-hosts David Gasper and Matt Carroll celebrate the beginning of the 2022 regular season. However, the year got off to a sour start with the suspension of Brewers catcher Pedro Severino for PEDs, which led to a butterfly effect on several players as the Brewers made two trades to fill the catching gap created by Severino's suspension. We discuss those moves as well as the Brewers loss on Opening Day to the Cubs and how Brewers fans reacted to the game.
On the eve of Opening Day, the Milwaukee Brewers are trying to figure out what to do with the backup catcher role. Pedro Severino was suspended by Major League Baseball for 80 games stemming from a positive test for a banned substance. Where do the Brewers go from here to fill the spot behind Narvaez? Segment two is our final preview of the positional units on the Brewers with the outfielders. We all know how important Christian Yelich is, but who is next most important? The answer might surprise you. And finally, Dom and Vinny decided to look silly at the end of the season and make some predictions on where the season's hardware will go after all 162 games. S2, E38: Corbin Burnes took home his first Cy Young Award on Wednesday, slightly edging out Zack Wheeler of the Phillies for the award. We break down how we got there and where his trajectory will take him. The Brewers also recently acquired two bench pieces, Pedro Severino and Mike Brosseau. How will they factor into the Brewers' plans for 2022? Who should the Brewers target in free agency this year? Nick Castellanos? Mark Canha? Others? And we revisit our preseason predictions from the start of the year...

In case you are new around here, a quick update: the 2021 Orioles are not a good baseball team. But they have often managed to be a fun baseball team. Unfortunately, they failed to achieve even that modest standard over this past week, often playing like a club that was leagues away from their opposition. The starting pitching struggled, sure, but that’s par for the course for this group. What was truly shocking was how poor the defense behind those pitchers played. Stevie Wilkerson completely fell apart in Cleveland. Pedro Severino continues to have trouble simply catching the ball behind the plate. Heck, even Cedric Mullins made an error, and that guy has a shot at a Gold Glove. All the while, the Orioles were losing games. Their 16 straight defeats on the road are a club record, and yet somehow only the second-longest active streak (shout-out D-Backs). On this week’s show, Jesse is out, so Tyler and Eli discuss the Orioles’ latest struggles, Grayson Rodriguez’s Double-A debut, the logistics of gas can caretaking, and the extremes to which MLB has bungled the restrictions on sticky substances. If you like what you hear, consider subscribing to the podcast here, or on your preferred audio platform. Quote Me: “We have a lot of things that need to go our way to not get last place.”“That is the hope of every sports fan in America who has a favorite baseball team...that is not the Dodgers or the Yankees. Or the Astros, sorry (not sorry) about that one, you little cheaters.”“The only players I was picking seemed like Orioles players. Mike Mussina and Ben McDonald were my starters. Cal Ripken was my shortstop and I was good. I was happy.
