This week we are discussing Healthy vs Unhealthy Love with Laurie Lokey. As solo parents, we may not have experienced healthy relationships in our past, resulting in a distorted view of what relationships should actually look like. How can we define healthy relationships and what are some guidelines so that we're able to identify toxic or unsafe connections in our lives? LAURIE LOKEY M.A.LPC-MHSP, CTT, EMDR-II Laurie co-founded Resilient Love with her husband, Bill, after decades of clinical work individually and leading couples intensives together. She is passionate about partnering with people on their journey to find hope and resiliency. She completed her master's degree at Trevecca University as a Licensed Professional Counselor and she has created an individual intensive therapy model for the healing of trauma which she continues to develop in her practice. Laurie's love for helping people heal from the impact of trauma led her to work with a specialist and traumatologist, Dr. Lee Norton. From their work, she developed her own modality called “Trauma Stage Processing,” which she and her husband, Bill, have taught to clinicians across the country. Laurie has worked as an intensive specialist for the past 15 years and has a thriving private practice based in Spring Hill, TN. Resilient Love is the culmination of decades of clinical therapy experience of her and Bill combined with their journey and wisdom of navigating life in light of the love of Jesus. https://www.resilientloveprogram.com/ LINK TO SHOW NOTES For all the detailed show notes, tips and links click - https://soloparent.org/show-notes-blog ASK US ANYTHING! In this episode of Resilient Love, hosts Quinton and Breonna delve into the intriguing concept of "Rich Aunties" and its relevance to women seeking high-value relationships. They explore the nuances of this term and how it reflects a modern shift in dating dynamics. Breonna introduces the notion of a "Rich Auntie" as a woman who embodies independence, success, and self-assurance. This archetype challenges conventional stereotypes by emphasizing a woman's autonomy and financial stability. Throughout the episode, Quinton and Breonna offer practical insights for women looking to embody the Rich Auntie mindset. They highlight the importance of self-discovery, financial independence, and building a strong sense of self-worth. They also address how this approach can foster healthier, more fulfilling relationships based on equality and respect. Listeners will gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Rich Auntie and how this concept can reshape societal expectations around women and dating. African Americans deserve the right to be heard, understood, and loved after the trauma we have experienced through the years. It is a difficult conversation for most people to have at a table of equality but it needs to be addressed. No longer can we continue to sweep this under the carpet. As Christians, we should hear with our hearts, and respond with compassion and the proper administration of justice and equity for all.

Scrolling through social media, we see a culture divided. We are divided because we choose to focus on issues that cause division. We use our platforms to exert our opinions that make us feel better about ourselves. Rather than focusing on ourselves, we should focus on what connects us and how we can advance others to create a healthy, united community in which we build each other up. Join us this week as we learn how we can connect with each other to promote unity in a divided culture. Speaker: Ryan Leak, Teaching Pastor

The truth is declared from the words of Jesus, concerning our calling to truly love everyone, including those most unworthy. While this is not easy and often there are obstacles along the way, the love that God gives us is most resilient and He empowers us to practice the same.
