Warren: In an email on October 5 to Emily Elston, a leader of the MorningStar Accountability Now group, Joyner said, “I am the one God gave to raise up MorningStar, and I will not abandon my post except by His clearly revealed will.” The accountability statement has over 200 named signatories, some of whom are former teachers at the church's Comenius School for Creative Leadership, as well as church attendees, Morningstar staff, and others affiliated with the Morningstar School of Ministry. Natasha: In addition to calling for Joyner's resignation, the statement also calls for an independent audit of the MorningStar board, the credentials of its members, and its policies and procedures. Warren: MorningStar does not file an informational Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service where the board members' names would be listed, nor does it have them easily accessible on its ministry website. The accountability statement also calls for an independent audit of the ministry's child protection policies and for the audit results to be released publicly. The statement says MorningStar should implement mandatory training on sexual abuse against minors for all staff and volunteers who interact with children. A previous lawsuit was filed on August 7 against MorningStar and its leaders alleging that Erickson Lee used his access to children through the church's “Young Special Forces” program to groom and eventually abuse children in the church. Lee was arrested in May on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and on September 5 entered into an offered plea deal to serve nine years in prison, according to Randy Hood, attorney for the plaintiffs. Natasha: What are these new lawsuits? Warren: Two more alleged victims have come forward to seek accountability for their abuse from Morningstar Fellowship Church and its leaders. All of the lawsuits have been filed anonymously by John Doe #1, John Doe #2, and John Doe #3 who are now over age 18, but were 13 years old when the alleged abuse began. Leaders named in the lawsuit include Rick Joyner, David Yarns, and Erickson Lee's father, Douglas Lee, who was the former head of security for the church. “This is about accountability and responsibility,” Hood said. “Churches have to create policies and procedures to protect children. They need to monitor and supervise people who are over children.” Natasha: Because of previous allegations of sexual assault at MorningStar in the early 2000s, the lawsuits claim that Joyner, Yarns, and Lee knew of the risks and had a duty and opportunity to protect vulnerable children from being exploited and abused while participating in the youth programs at MorningStar. Warren: Instead, the lawsuit asserts, the leadership ignored “signs of provision of alcohol and pornography to minors and signs of sexual exploitation or abuse of minors by church staff, members, or volunteers.”

As many as 7 or 8 bullets were fired and one so close it cut his ear. A fraction of a movement of his head in the wrong direction would have ended his life. Nothing but divine intervention can explain the nuances of what happened.   Trump, in noble fashion posted on TRUTH his gratitude to those who risked their lives to protect him and his concern and grief over those who were shot in his rally. Only then did he mention his own injury.   Some will say this was an inside job. They believe the shooters empty roof 200 feet away is as unexplainable as it is inexcusable. This causes concern that there will be another attempt. All the more reason to stand in the gap in prayer.   Rick Joyner has an important comment. “We can expect a lot of public processing of this terrible event in the days to come, and more facts about the shooter(s) and reports of the investigations come out. Let us keep in mind that we're told in Scripture that "the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet," not the God of war. Do not lose your peace! As we process what's happened and happening, let us do it from the perspective of having the peace of God, and promote peace. Let us pray for these evil acts not be used to promote more evil, but for them to be turned and used by God for good, and the healing of our national wounds and divisions.”

Evangelical End Times pastor Mike Bickle founded the International House of Prayer in 1999, later renamed IHOPKC, in Kansas City after saying God had told him to do so in a series of prophecies. Former members have referred to it as a cult. Is it? Or is it an organization, with its focus on modern day prophecy,  where cult leaders can easily recruit followers?  In 2012, IHOPKC member Bethany Deaton was found dead, and investigators looking into her suicide (originally thought to be a murder case), uncovered a small offshoot cult within IHOPKC lead by Tyler Deaton, a charismatic young man and IHOPKC adherent who felt, like Mike Bickle, that he was also a modern prophet. He also felt that God had, like with Bickle, tasked him with helping raise an army of spiritual warriors to do battle with Satan's minions in an imminent, apocalyptic showdown between good and evil.
