Keith shares an extra clip from his interview with Sante's eldest son, Kent Walker, highlighting what it was like growing up with Sante as a mother.

Sante Kimes has been referred to as a Dragon lady, and for good reason. Her crimes included arson, slavery, theft, murder, and everything in between. One of the most disturbing things about Sante is that she taught and groomed her son, Kenny Kimes, into become a dirtbag to help her with her schemes. Hey hey Twisted Listeners! This week we have another round of weird and wacky cases centered around people who murdered business partners, strangers, and even loved ones for a very specific and crappy motive: monetary profit! These monsters are peak capitalist trash, going as far as ending the lives of others so they can live lives of luxury, just because they felt entitled to it! These cases will definitely have obvious elements, but the stores themselves are wilder than you might think, with elaborate lies and schemes with ridiculous plots getting these idiots caught faster than they can spend their ill gotten booty (or, ill booten gotty, if you're a MASH fan). So buckle up for the ride that is a brief moment inside the minds of these trash bag humans - it's a weird experience, and one you will never want to deal with in real life, so be careful who you trust with you money, your business, and your lives!Cases Covered: 1.
Surprise! You all get two episodes in one week, due to my hiatus last week. I'm feeling the Christmas spirit and wanted to gift you all with an extra (read as makeup) episode. This week, we will be looking into the murder of the New York socialite Irene Silverman, an older woman with a lively spirit. Irene crossed many paths in her long lifetime, and a majority of them loved her; so who did she meet that wanted to dim her light? She may have had money, but she had even more street smarts, so it was widely unexpected to learn she had been conned and met with foul play. After reading and preparing for this case, I think my conclusion may be a little cloudy. Have you ever seen the movie Catch Me If You Can? If so, you know a bit more about Frank Abagnale Jr. than you think you do. He is arguably the most famous con man, imposter and escape artist there is. Next up, things take a dark turn as we cover the cons of Sante Kimes and her son Kenny Kimes. Dubbed “Mommy and Clyde," they were involved in a string of crimes and murders across the U.S. until they were finally captured in the late 1990s.Sources:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Abagnalehttps://www.biography.com/personality/frank-abagnale https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/blog/banking/2012/12/crime-doesnt-pay-warns-catch-me-if.html?page=allhttps://www.vanityfair.com/news/2000/03/sante-kimes-mother-murderer-criminal-mastermind https://www.oxygen.com/snapped/crime-news/sante-kimes-kenneth-kimes-guilty-murdering-irene-silverman Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/badsign)

In episode 12 of Season 3; our season FINALE, we will discuss Sante Kimes. Sante Kimes is much easier to say than the mouthful of a name she was born with – Sandra Louise Singhrs. She was born on July 24, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK. Sante was kind of a badass…but not in the good way; if there is a good way. She was motivated by money and would hurt whomever she had to in order to get what she wanted. Sante was eventually convicted of two murders, robbery, forgery, violation of anti-slavery laws, and much more. Yes, I said violation of anti-slavery laws. So, what’s that mean exactly? We had the same question until Rachelle dug into her case a bit. Sante had a way with men. A way to make them do as she said. This manipulation and perhaps fear that she put into others, is exactly how her son ended up helping her commit crimes…even murder. Yep, mommy and Clyde. As promised: This is Ken Jr's article https://narratively.com/my-mother-taught-me-to-kill/#:~:text=Kenneth%20Kimes%20Jr.%20is%20currently,cautionary%20tale%20to%20help%20others. I'm so grateful Dr. Marcia Chatelain made time for even more discussion of fast-food malfeasance; she's my guest again as we take a look at the back half of Monopoly-scam docuseries McMillion$. The character-based future seasons we wanted, "poor man's Sante Kimes" used as a verb, the ways in which McMillion$ is the most American of stories, and much more. Later, we waded into Netflix's Big Food series, Rotten, which does a lot of things well (good research, excellent vintage footage), but a lot of other things not so well (stentoriously inexperienced narration, over-reliance on said vintage footage). Is there any food we can feel ethically okay about enjoying? Is there any-one who will steal Tancítaro's avocado welcome sculpture for Sarah? Find out what happens when Mayor Pete does a presentation in Dr. Marcia's class; it's The Blotter Presents, Episode 134. This week in our series featuring women who kill, we discuss a mother with such a strong influence over her son she convinced him to kill with her. A lifetime of scheming and conning people turned sour when people started calling Sante Kimes out on her actions, and she decided they simply had to go. Her reign of terror resulted in at least three deaths.
