(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslim militants kill 9 in Congo, Africa Muslim militants from the Allied Democratic Forces, a terrorist group, launched a brutal assault in North Kivu, Congo, Africa on March 8th, killing at least nine people, reports International Christian Concern. The attack began at dawn, catching villagers by surprise. Armed with guns and machetes, the Muslims targeted the farming community, swiftly overpowering the residents. The assault, which included the destruction of homes, left dozens of families displaced, worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis in the region. Eastern Congo remains plagued by violence, with more than 100 armed groups vying for control of the region's valuable resources. The innocent civilians continue to bear the heaviest cost. Despite repeated calls for action, the Congo government has been unable to protect its citizens from these frequent raids. According to Open Doors, Congo, Africa is the 35th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. King Charles hospitalized from cancer treatment side effects Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles III was taken to the hospital in a car yesterday after suffering predictable side effects from his cancer treatment, reports The U.S. Sun. He has had to cancel a string of engagements set for today in Birmingham, England. And he was unable to greet Ambassadors of three different nations yesterday. The King was at home at Clarence House last night where he was said to be in good form and continuing to work on State Papers and making calls from his study. (Look at the rooms inside Clarence House). On January 17, 2024, Buckingham Palace announced the King was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. Then, on February 5th, the Palace revealed that the doctors discovered that he had cancer while operating on his prostate. Please pray for the full recovery of King Charles with minimal side effects. Trump affirmed two God-given genders, opposition to transgenderism President Donald Trump criticized gender ideology during a recent Women's History Month event held at the White House on March 25th. He reaffirmed the two genders created by God. TRUMP: “On Day One, I made the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female. Is there anybody that disagrees with that in this room? (laughter) I was thinking, maybe somebody from the press might raise their head. I don't think so. “For four long years, we had an administration that tried to abolish the very concept of womanhood and replace it with radical gender ideology. They destroyed women's spaces and even tried to replace the word ‘mother' with the term ‘birther person.' A mother became a ‘birther person.' “Under the Trump administration, we're ending the Marxist war on women, and we're protecting women's rights, defending women's dignity, and standing up for the American moms and daughters.” Trump also made a definitive statement about men who pretend to be women. TRUMP: “No matter how many surgeries you have or chemicals you inject, if you're born with male DNA in every cell of your body, you can never become a woman! You're not going to be a woman. (applause) And that's why, last month, I proudly signed a historic Executive Order to ban men from competing in women's sports. And it was very popular.” Trump withdraws Stefanik's nomination to be U.N. Ambassador President Donald Trump has withdrawn the nomination of Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York to be U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, reports The Epoch Times. Trump announced the move on Truth Social on March 27th, citing the narrow majority that the GOP has in the House of Representatives. He wrote, “As we advance our America First Agenda, it is essential that we maintain EVERY Republican Seat in Congress. I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. With a very tight Majority, I don't want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise's seat.” Trump said Stefanik will join his administration in the future. Manhattan's Planned Parenthood closes after years of pro-life prayer After years of monthly prayer processions, often led by a pro-life activist priest named Fidelis Moscinski, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York has announced it will be selling its SoHo building and shutting down its Manhattan abortion mill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Wendy Stark, the New York abortion giant CEO, claimed the decision was made due to “the gap between inflation and stagnant (Medicaid/insurance) reimbursement rates.” Christian pro-lifers, like David who fought Goliath, know that you cannot continue to mock the living God and expect to be victorious. Psalm 34:16 says, “The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the Earth.” Three survivors of Alaskan plane crash rescued And finally, fearing the worst after a prop plane was reported overdue for landing in Alaska last Sunday, search and rescue volunteers searched for the pilot and two children of elementary and middle school ages who had been on a sightseeing tour, reports Good News Network. Dale Eicher was one of the locals who heard the call for help. EICHER: “I saw the Facebook post about the missing plane and decided to go look for it.” Providentially, that singular Facebook post about the missing father and kids had been re-shared 420 times. John Morris, the father of the missing pilot, told CNN affiliate, Alaska's News Source, that his son's cell phone sent its final ping at about 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening over Tustumena Lake. Within an hour of flying, Eicher saw them. EICHER: “They were walking across the lake when I flew over the plane.” The Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser had crash landed on the frozen surface of Tustumena Lake. EICHER: “I was really shocked. I did expect that we would find them, but I didn't expect that we would find them alive, for sure. I've done a little bit of search and rescue before, and it doesn't always turn out this well.” The three survivors were taken to a Kenai Peninsula area hospital and treated for “non-life-threatening injuries.” When the reporter asked what motivated Dale Eicher to search for the missing plane, he said this. EICHER: “It's the right thing to do. I do volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol some. And I have my own plane.” Indeed, it was the right thing to do! After all, as Genesis 1:27 articulates, each of us, including those three plane crash survivors in Alaska, have been created in God's image and are worthy of rescuing. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Myanmar announces elections amid unrelenting persecution General Min Aung Hlaing, head of the military junta ruling Myanmar, has announced that the country will hold general elections either in December 2025 or in January 2026, reports International Christian Concern. The military junta has repeatedly delayed the elections due to unrest in the country. Critics say that a free and fair election is still impossible. The military has spent the last four years eliminating political opposition, jailing proponents of democracy, and waging war against the civilian population. According to Open Doors' World Watch List, Myanmar is the 13th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. RFK, Jr wants to ban artificial dyes in food On Monday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, reportedly told food industry leaders that he wants artificial dyes to be removed from American food products, reports One America News. Schumer flip flops, now supports GOP funding bill On Thursday, Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York flip flopped. After saying he would allow the government shutdown on Wednesday, he announced on the Senate floor late yesterday afternoon that he plans to vote to advance a House-passed six-month government funding bill, despite the strong opposition of many Democrats, reports News Nation. SCHUMER: “I have said many times, there are no winners in a government shutdown, but there are certainly victims. The most vulnerable Americans who rely on federal programs to feed their families, to access medical care, and to stay financially afloat. Communities that depend on government services to function will suffer and suffer greatly. “For sure, the Republican bill is a terrible option. It is deeply partisan. It doesn't address far too many of this country's needs. … “I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down.” Schumer is only the second Senate Democrat to state definitively his intention to vote to advance the GOP-written bill — joining Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania who warned a shutdown would create chaos and risk a recession. But it's highly likely that Schumer will give political cover to other Democrats to vote to advance the 99-page package. If passed, the bill would increase defense spending by $6 billion, boost funding for border security, and cut nondefense programs by $13 billion, reports TheHill.com. Senate Republicans control 53 seats and would need at least eight Democratic votes to reach the 60-vote threshold needed to overcome a filibuster. Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, a staunch fiscal conservative, says he would vote against the stopgap measure for not doing enough to cut the deficit. Arizona prisoner speeds up lethal injection for his murder A prisoner scheduled to be executed next week in what would be Arizona's first use of the death penalty in over two years passed up a chance to ask for a reprieve from his death sentence, reports The Associated Press. Aaron Brian Gunches, age 53, is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on March 19th for his murder conviction in the 2002 shooting death of Ted Price, his girlfriend's ex-husband, near the Phoenix suburb of Mesa. Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed. For in the image of God He made man.” Comedian Rosie O'Donnell moved to Ireland to escape Trump Rosie O'Donnell, the lesbian actress and comedian, described why President Donald Trump's election to a second term prompted her to move to Ireland, reports ABC News. She shared her life update in a new TikTok video post on Tuesday. O'DONNELL: “Well, hey everybody. It's me, Rosie O'Donnell, star of The Flintstones. It's Tuesday, all day, as my Nana would say, and I'm here in Ireland. Moved here on January 15th. It's been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming. “I'm in the process of getting my Irish citizenship, as I have Irish grandparents. Although I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that's what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. I'm happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home.” O'Donnell insinuated that all citizens do not have equal rights, perhaps an indirect reference to her own child's non-binary identity and President Trump's insistence that males should not compete in women's sports. O'DONNELL: “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that's when we will consider coming back. It's been heartbreaking to see what's happening politically and hard for me personally as well. “It seems as though the only place you can get the news of what's really happening, in terms of protests, and whatnot is on Tiktok. The mainstream media has been letting us all down there in America where the fourth estate is required in order to maintain a democracy. You know, they haven't been doing their job.” O'Donnell concluded her video by urging fellow liberals to stand up to President Donald Trump and presumably any Senator or Congressman who passes his America First agenda. O'DONNELL: “I encourage everyone to stand up, to use their voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the Constitution in our country, and not a king, not a man, and we don't have cruelty as part of our governing style.” Bus driver buys PJs for crying boy who had none for Pajama Day And finally, a bus driver in Kentucky went above and beyond the call of duty when he saw one of his regular riders in distress, reports Good News Network. A child named Levi was crying when driver Larry Farrish Jr. arrived at his stop. The 35-year-old bus driver said, “Normally when I pull up, he's standing there waiting for me with a big smile, but on this day, he was sitting on the ground with a jacket over his head,” according to TODAY.com. When he asked what was wrong, he discovered that Levi had no pajamas to participate in Pajama Day at Engelhard Elementary School. Farrish went to a nearby Family Dollar and picked up two pairs of pajamas and surprised Levi in class. The bus driver said, “He was so excited — you should've seen how his face lit up.” Levi confessed that he had a “happy cry.” The world needs more Larry Farrish Jrs. In a series of coordinated raids, Boko Haram targeted the villages of Christians, burned homes, torching churches, and killing five people. During the most recent attack on January 20th, terrorists displaced more than 1,500 residents. They targeted Christians in these raids, intimidating them and demanding they convert to Islam or face death. The violence destroyed the church called Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa, and resulted in the loss of livestock, food supplies, and livelihoods. According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the seventh most dangerous country worldwide for Christians to live. Trump defunded Planned Parenthood International While on Air Force One on Friday, President Donald Trump signed the Mexico City policy which prohibits American tax dollars from being used to promote or provide abortions overseas, reports LifeNews.com. The move defunded two major abortion chains of hundreds of millions of American tax dollars. The International Planned Parenthood Federation alone estimated a $100 million loss from its budget. Vice President Vance speaks out for unborn life and pro-life activists On Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke in person at the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington D.C. and then marched with tens of thousands of pro-life Americans. VANCE: “We march to protect the unborn and live out the sacred truth that every single child is a miracle and a gift from God. It is a blessing to know the truth, and the truth is that unborn life is worthy of protection.” And Vice President Vance explained how things would be different under the leadership of President Donald Trump. He addressed the Biden administration's obsession with imprisoning pro-life Americans who participated in non-violent civil disobedience much like many did during the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. VANCE: “With his return to office, no longer will the federal government direct FBI raids on the homes of people like, Mark Houck, and other Catholic and Christian activists who are fighting for the unborn every single day. And no longer will our government throw pro-life protesters and activists, elderly grandparents, or anybody else in prison. It stopped on Monday, and we're not going to let it come back to this country.” Lila Rose: Defund Planned Parenthood of America and abolish abortion Lila Rose, the founder of Live Action, addressed the March for Life crowd this past Friday in our nation's capitol. ROSE: “We must also speak the truth to our elected officials. We can start by demanding that they defund Planned Parenthood. (cheers) It's time!” (cheers) Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Rose continued. ROSE: “And most importantly, we must urge our elected officials to abolish abortion. (cheers) Abolishing abortion is the most important human rights cause of our time. One million of our unborn brothers and sisters are killed every year by abortion.” Pro-life rescuer Joan Bell to Trump: Protect babies from conception On January 24th, newly pardoned pro-life activist Joan Andrews Bell, age 75, joined the tens of thousands of pro-lifers in Washington, D.C., for the 52nd annual March for Life. Bell was freed from prison following President Trump's official pardon of the 23 pro-life rescuers in jail. John-Henry Westen, the founder of LifeSiteNews.com, interviewed her at the March for Life. WESTEN: “Joan, you just got out of prison now. President Trump gave you and the other 22 a pardon. What is your message for President Trump right now?” BELL: “Number one, thank you with all my heart. We trust that God is going to keep guiding you, keep bringing you closer and closer to the total truth that you need to defend every human life from the very moment of conception to natural death. And Monica Miller has a great book In The Beginning: [Critical Lessons for Our World from the First Three Chapters of Genesis]. Anyone who reads that will have to say, of course. In Scripture [Jeremiah 1:5] ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.'” Pete Hegseth confirmed as Sec of Defense thanks to J.D. Vance This past Friday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Pete Hegseth as the new Secretary of Defense in a late-night session that came down to a tie-breaking vote from Vice President J.D. Vance after GOP Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky voted no, reports The Epoch Times. VANCE: “On this vote, the Yeas are 50 and the Nays are 50. The Senate being equally divided, the Vice President votes in the affirmative and the nomination is confirmed.” President Trump's nominee was initially deadlocked in a 50-50 vote. That capped a contentious confirmation process in which Hegseth faced questions about his views on women serving in combat, as well as allegations of alcoholism, sexual assault, and financial mismanagement at two veteran nonprofit groups. The vice president is the president of the Senate and has the sole power to cast a tie-breaking vote when necessary. Kristi Noem confirmed as Secretary of Homeland Security On Saturday, the Senate approved the nomination of South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security, reports The Hill.com. The 59-34 vote to confirm Noem puts her at the center of an administration focused heavily on immigration. Seven Democrats voted with Republicans to confirm her. Senators John Fetterman (PA), Tim Kaine (VA), Andy Kim (NJ), Gary Peters (MI), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Maggie Hassan (NH) and Elissa Slotkin (MI). Solar-charging backpacks help African kids read at night And finally, a local entrepreneur in Tanzania is clearing two hurdles in one leap by transforming old cement bags into backpacks that include a small solar panel to power a reading light, reports Good News Network. Clearing municipal waste and helping rural children study after dark for just $4-8 per bag is impressive. Soma Bags employs 85 rural workers to satisfy a demand for 13,000 backpacks a month. They can't meet it, but they do their best. This backpack craze is all due to Mr. Innocent James who remembers studying for school by the light of a kerosene lantern. James' solution was inspired by a university professor he met. The man carried around a solar panel to charge his phone sewn into the fabric of his jacket, giving James the idea to sew cheap, flexible solar panels onto the outside of bags to power a reading light. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus India falsely charges Christian groups with embezzlement After the Hindu nationalist BJP Party came to power in India at the national level in 2014, many large Christian organizations that had been receiving funds from abroad came under government scrutiny and were falsely charged with embezzlement and other invented corrupt financial practices, reports International Christian Concern. Recently, the government stated that many of these organizations were involved in alleged illegal religious conversion activities, too. For the first time, India's Ministry of Home Affairs has listed illegal religious conversion activities as a reason for blocking foreign funding of certain non-governmental organizations working in India. According to Open Doors, India is the 11th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Proverbs 17:23 says, “Corrupt judges accept secret bribes, and then justice is not done.” Charles Barkley: Democrats lost because "y'all stupid" After Donald Trump's landslide victory, former National Basketball Association star Charles Barkley had a word for the Democrats on the Steam Room podcast. BARKLEY: “And I just want to say this to the Democrats, I'm an independent who voted Democratic. Do me this favor. When you win, you get to say what you want to. When you lose, you need to shup up. “Oh, President Biden. They didn't get him out the race soon enough. Kamala didn't do this. We lost because we had no game plan. We still haven't solved the immigration problem. Have no viable answers. Never addressed inflation. “Bringing all these stupid stars out to rally to vote. What was that? Hey, I love Beyonce. What's bringing her out? That ain't gonna make me vote a certain way. Cardi B. I like Cardi B. That ain't gonna make me vote a certain type of way. You guys lost because y'all stupid.” Senator Ted Cruz objects to Democrats who want to censor conservatives And on Senator Ted Cruz's podcast entitled “Verdict,” the Texas statesman said Democrats are not interested in doing much introspection about their massive loss on Election Day. CRUZ: “The Democrats, they're not actually looking introspectively and saying, ‘Gosh, maybe we were wrong on the issues. Maybe the fact that over 70% of Americans thought we were on the wrong track. Maybe that's a problem. Maybe we shouldn't have had an open border and let this country be invaded. Maybe we shouldn't have spent money like drunken sailors and caused inflation that hurt working families across this country. “‘Maybe we shouldn't have waged a war on energy that hurt everyone who's struggling to make ends meet. Maybe we shouldn't have undermined our friends and allies, and we shouldn't have appeased our enemies. Maybe we shouldn't have given $100 billion to Iran that funds terrorists and Hamas and Hezbollah and causes a war. Maybe our policies are wrong.' “That would be a rational and sensible thing for Democrats to do. So, they're not doing that.” Senator Cruz cited exhibit A of MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki who doubled down on censoring people like podcaster Joe Rogan who has challenged Democrats and dared to interview Trump for three unfiltered hours which enabled listeners to cast an informed vote. CRUZ: "Instead, they're saying, ‘Hmm, maybe if people just didn't know what we were doing. Maybe if they couldn't say what we were doing. Maybe if they couldn't criticize what we're doing. Yeah, that's how we'd win.' “So, Jen Psaki, Joe Biden's former press secretary, went on a podcast and she said this, ‘One of the things that's changed ever since I got involved in politics is just the rise of the percentage of people who get their information off of platforms that have no fact-checking mechanism and no accountability for having disinformation spread. Laws have to change.' “She's not saying, ‘We, the Democrats, need to communicate better.' She's not saying, ‘We the Democrats need to change our policy.' She's saying, ‘We need to change the laws to make it illegal for that Joe Rogan to say things we don't like. We need to change the laws to make it illegal for anyone to post on X what the actual facts are of what we, the Democrats, are doing. If we can silence everyone, then we stay in power forever.'” Late-term abortions in Oregon more than doubled in 2023 Oregon Health Authority's finalized 2023 abortion records show dramatically increased abortion rates in numerous categories, including a sharp rise in the number of late-term abortions compared to the prior year, reports LifeSiteNews.com. According to the Oregon Health Authority's Center for Health Statistics data, abortion mills in Oregon performed a total of 10,075 abortions last year compared to 8,672 in 2022, a 16% increase. Among the 10,075 abortions, 225 of them were performed at or after 23 weeks gestation (roughly the age of “viability”), more than two and a half times the 85 late-term abortions performed in 2022. At 23 weeks gestation and later, the unborn baby can feel pain, and many can survive outside the womb if born prematurely. Elon Musk praises families on X Elon Musk is continuing to spread the word about the importance of families. On X this week, Musk sounded the alarm in response to a post that claimed birth rates in Sweden and Britain are now at their lowest levels since 1749 and 1938, respectively. Musk said, “Instead of teaching fear of pregnancy, we should teach fear of childlessness.” Psalm 127:3-5 says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” AI model detects cancerous brain tumors missed during surgery And finally, researchers have developed an Artificial Intelligence-powered model that can determine in 10 seconds during surgery if any part of a cancerous brain tumor that could be removed remains, reports Good News Network. According to the research team led by the universities of Michigan and California, the technology, called FastGlioma, outperformed conventional methods for identifying what remains of a tumor by a wide margin. When a neurosurgeon removes a life-threatening tumor from a patient's brain, they are rarely able to remove the entire mass. What remains is known as a residual tumor. By contrast, FastGlioma detected and calculated how much of the brain tumor remained with an average accuracy of approximately 92%. Trump: Liz Cheney is “a radical war hawk” On October 31st, Donald Trump talked with Tucker Carlson for 90 minutes in Glendale, Arizona about his candidacy. He took issue with former GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who has endorsed Kamala Harris, for being a war hawk. TRUMP: “The reason she couldn't stand me is that she always wanted to go to war with people I don't want to go to war. She wanted to go she wanted to stay in Syria. I took them out. She wanted to stay in Iraq. I took them out. I mean, if it were up to her, we'd be in 50 different countries. Number one, it's very dangerous. Number two, a lot of people get killed. And number three, I mean, it's very, very expensive. We spent $9 trillion bombing the Middle East. And what did we get? Other than lots of dead people, including our people, we got nothing.” Trump emphasized that Liz Cheney liked to sound tough in her former ivory tower when sending American soldiers to unnecessary wars. TRUMP: “She's a radical war hawk. Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let's see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face. You know, they're all war hawks when they're sitting in Washington. Let's send, let's send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.” Kamala Harris, the Democratic Presidential nominee, claimed that Trump's rhetoric was violent. HARRIS: “He has increased his violent rhetoric, Donald Trump has, about political opponents and in great detail. Suggested rifles should be trained on former representative Liz Cheney. This must be disqualifying anyone who wants to be president of the United States who uses that kind of violent rhetoric is clearly disqualified and unqualified to be president.” Cardinal urges Catholics to vote for most pro-life presidential candidate On October 31st, EWTN anchor Raymond Orroyo interviewed U.S. Cardinal Raymond Burke about the moral obligation for Catholics to vote, reports LifeSiteNews.com. ARROYO: “Cardinal Burke, you recently posted moral questions regarding voting on your website. It's a guide for Catholics voting in the U.S. election next week. And you write this. ‘For Catholics, as for all men and women of good will, the question is, in fulfilling our civic duty to vote, how can we be obedient to the law of God written upon our hearts in the present situation of deplorable moral, and therefore cultural, decline and decay.' “In your guide, you emphasize human life, marriage, family, religious freedom as the pre-eminent issues for the common good for Catholics to consider as they go into the voting place. How and why should Catholics prioritize those above party allegiance or personality which seems to govern a lot of the vote today?” BURKE: “We are servants of God, first of all, and being good servants of God, then we are good servants to our country. And if we don't obey God's law, then we're not going to serve well our country. And so, these three goods -- human life from its inception to natural death, safeguarding the integrity of marriage and the family, and religious freedom, are written on the human heart. That's how God made us, inscribed His law on our hearts. “We must be obedient to that law. And in that obedience, we serve not only our own good, but the good of our neighbor, the good of the nation. And so, it's as simple as that.” Psalm 19:7-11 says, “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever.” Dog rescued from floating shopping cart in canal And finally, a 10-year-old dog was rescued after it was found floating down an Arizona canal on a submerged shopping cart, reports the Good News Network. It's Friday, August 16th, A.D. 2024. This is The World View in 5 Minutes written by Jonathan Clark and heard at www.TheWorldView.com. Filling in for Adam McManus I'm Ean Leppin. Taliban Persecutes Church in Afghanistan International Christian Concern or the ICC reports that the Taliban celebrated its third anniversary of its takeover of Afghanistan. The climate for believers in Afghanistan has become very dire. The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has pleaded with the US Department of State to designate Afghanistan as a Country of Particular Concern since 2022. However the US Department has never recognized those concerns by making Afghanistan a ‘Special Watchlist Country'. According to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom the Taliban has implemented an extreme version of Sharia Law in the country since they took power. The enforcement of that law includes ‘Public executions, lashings and floggings, stoning, beatings, and acts of public humiliation such as forced head shaving.' Not only that but the Taliban has also restricted contact with the outside world including any efforts to send assistance to the churches through legal and logistical difficulties. Please pray that believers in Afghanistan would be encouraged and that their faith will remain strong. Joshua 1:9 says “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Taliban Holds Parade to Celebrate 3 years in Afghanistan On Wednesday the Taliban celebrated their 3 year occupation in Afghanistan with a military parade at Bagram Airfield, which was once the largest US military base in the country. Not only that but the parade showcased US military vehicles and weapons that were left behind when the US left Afghanistan. Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg told Fox News about the events that led up to such an abrupt evacuation of US military presence and who is responsible. KELLOGG: “It primarily falls on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, because they walked away from the Doha Agreement. That was the agreement that President Trump put in place. It wasn't a perfect agreement. No agreements are perfect, but it was pretty good to set the stage for good conflict-ending time in Afghanistan. And it was a conditions-based agreement. Most importantly, what President Trump had done, is he had established a personal relationship with Omar Baradar, who was the lead Taliban negotiator. So we had that relationship as well. And when President Trump talked to Baradar (and I was in the Oval Office when that happened), he told them what would happen if they didn't fulfill their agreement. And even though it was translated, I kept thinking to myself, ‘Boy, how is this being translated, because it's pretty stern?' After that discussion with Baradar, not a single American was killed in over a year in Afghanistan, but Biden walked away from that agreement.” The rapid evacuation of the US military resulted in $7 billion of military equipment being abandoned in the region. Hal Kempfer a retired Marine Intelligence Officer gave Fox News some insight into what it means to run and maintain that much equipment. KEMPFER: “With the Afghan national army, they were dependent on U.S. contractors to keep all that equipment running. So, even though they inherited $7 billion worth of equipment, which is just- I mean, that just sits on my shoulders, when I think about the sheer amount of equipment that we left there, it's horrible. Even though we left that, they have a tough time, just like the Afghan national government did, of keeping that stuff going. And without those U.S. contractor there, they lack the expertise, they don't have the spare parts, they don't have the ability to get the spare parts. So what you see rolling there, one of my first thoughts was, ‘That may be, all of everything we left, that could be the only stuff that's still operating. And that may be as fast as some of those things could probably drive too.' So, it's not a silver lining, but it is something to consider.” New data about Amendment 4 in Florida New polls show Florida Amendment 4, which would legalize abortions up to birth in the state, doesn't have enough support to pass. LifeNews.com reports that Amendment 4 proposes to codify unrestricted abortion in the state's constitution and would overturn every pro-life law in the state and force taxpayers to fund abortions. Not only that, but minors wouldn't even need parental consent. Amending the state's constitution requires approval by a 60 percent majority. USA Today data is showing that while the 60 percent support is not reflective of the population. They have found that 58 percent of those in Florida are in favor of Amendment 4. Data released by Florida Atlantic University shows 56 percent of those in Florida support Amendment 4. Amendment 4 will be on the ballot in Florida this November. Isaiah 5:20 says Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Hurricane Ernesto continues to cause damage. Reuters news reports that as of Thursday Hurricane Ernesto has already caused massive damage in Puerto Rico. It has destroyed over 400,000 homes and businesses and that roughly half of the country is without power. Bermuda is currently under a hurricane warning as forecasters are predicting Ernesto could make landfall later today. By Saturday experts are expecting Ernesto to strengthen even more. Pray for those without power and homes and for those who will are in the path of this hurricane. New Medbot could be an answer to a global surgeon shortage. A medical feat was accomplished recently using a remote control robot to remove a tumor from a patient's lung with the Surgeon being 3000 miles away! Good News Network reports that a Chinese-made 5G Medbot allowed Dr Lou Qingquan to remotely operate robotic arms to complete a surgery. Dr Luo was seated in the Shanghai Chest Hospital on the Pacific Coast and operated on a patient 3000 miles inland. This is the nation's first robot-assisted surgery. There is currently a global shortage of specialist surgeons. It is calculated that for every 100,000 people in low and middle-income countries there is currently less than 1 specialist surgeon as compared to over 5 in high-income countries. These Medbots could be a potential breakthrough for those in need worldwide. And that's The World View on this Friday, August 16th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Monday, August 12th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims shot two Christian men On August 4th, Islamic Fulani militants shot two Christian men in the Bokkos area of the Plateau State in Nigeria, reports International Christian Concern. The men, whose names are being withheld for their protection, are thankful to be alive. One of them said, “To the glory of God, we both survived.” David John, the medical director of the hospital where the men are currently receiving treatment, said the hospital's staff would provide them with the best medical care. Bokkos was one of three Plateau communities targeted by Muslim Fulani militants during the Christmas Eve massacre in 2023. In those attacks, more than 200 Christians were killed, including 148 people in Bokkos. According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Pray for God's justice in Nigeria. Proverbs 21:15 says, “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” Ukrainian navy takes out Russian gas rig Ukraine blasted a Russian gas rig in the Black Sea near the Dnipro River, killing 40 Russian soldiers, reports The U.S. Sun. Dramatic footage shows a giant fireball erupting from the Russian headquarters after it was targeted by the Ukrainian Navy. The decimated rig was packed with “reconnaissance equipment” to help with Russia's war effort. Ukrainian officials claimed the gas rig used to be controlled by their military, but had become occupied by Russian President Vladimir Putin's forces in recent years. Harris leads Trump in 3 battleground states Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump in three crucial battleground states, according to new surveys by The New York Times and Siena College. This is the latest indication of a dramatic reversal in standing for Democrats after President Biden's departure from the presidential race. Harris is ahead of Trump by four percentage points in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, 50 percent to 46 percent among likely voters in each state. The surveys were conducted from Aug. 5 to 9. Trump: Kamala Harris not smart enough to hold news conference Despite her rise in the polls, Donald Trump does not think Kamala Harris is smart enough to hold a news conference. TRUMP: “She can't do a news conference. She doesn't know how to do a news conference. She's not smart enough to do a news conference. I'm sorry. We need smart people to lead this country because our country has never been in this danger before, both economically and from an outside perspective.” Kamala Harris: “Everybody needs to be woke!” A video of Vice President Kamala Harris declaring that “everybody needs to be woke” in 2017 has resurfaced and gone viral on social media, reports Media Research Center. Appearing with philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple Founder Steve Jobs, Harris spoke at the 2017 Recode Code Conference. Listen. HARRIS: "We have to stay woke. Like everybody needs to be woke. You can talk about if you're the woke-est or woke-er, but just stay more woke than less woke." Send letters to 6 imprisoned pro-lifers Pro-life rescuers either in or awaiting prison have made – and are making – gigantic sacrifices for practicing non-violent civil disobedience at abortion mills on behalf of their pre-born brothers and sisters. By giving up their emotional support networks of family, friends, and colleagues, these pro-life heroes are in danger of a loneliness that can be felt even – or especially – in a crowded prison cafeteria or yard. Some of them have been handed years-long sentences, reports LifeSiteNews.com. You can send letters to six of these imprisoned pro-life heroes through addresses you can access through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. You can send letters to Jonathan Darnel, Will Goodman, Lauren Handy, Heather Idoni, Jean Marshall, and Bevelyn Williams at their respective prisons. MacGyver-minded officer saves toddler And finally, from Kansas comes the story of a quick-thinking rescue that hauled a 14-month-old toddler from a would-be tomb at the bottom of a drain pipe, reports Good News Network. The terrifying ordeal was caught on camera and saw a Moundridge Police Department officer build on the spot a makeshift catchpole typically used for pulling varmints out of hard-to-reach places. Secured under his shoulders, the loop of rope at the end of the catchpole was able to lift the boy, named Bently, out from where he was trapped 10 feet down a section of 12-inch-wide PVC pipe that had been buried vertically. The parents said they called 9-1-1 just before 2:00 p.m. when they realized Bently had fallen into the PVC hole. Blake, the father's boy, described his emotions before the rescue to the local news station. BLAKE: “Looking down at him as he was screaming, he wanted out of there, he wanted help and you can't do anything. It's complete helplessness. It's horrifying, it's haunting, to feel so helpless, knowing that your child is in serious need of help.” When police, fire department, and EMS arrived at the family's home about 40 miles northwest of Wichita, Officer Ronnie Wagner had an idea. WAGNER: “I threaded some rope through a PVC pipe, tied a knot at the end of it so that it would slip, and we used it to wrap around under his shoulders here and lift him out of the hole.” Watch a video of the dramatic rescue through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. The toddler's father was deeply grateful. BLAKE: “It's a blessing and a miracle to have a First Responder that lives right behind us. There aren't words to express our gratitude.” Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you … and will rejoice over you with singing.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, August 12th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Whenever we make a commitment, set an intention or create an affirmation, we often need a little reminding, and words do that so effectively. Some people write words that remind them of the commitment on Post-it Notes or in journals. That's because words can be a powerful anchor that brings us back to what matters. They can be metaphors we can apply to all sorts of contexts or statements that move us. Written words are something we can add to our consciousness toolbox, and printing them out on our skin - even temporarily - can deepen the commitments we've made to ourselves. When we combine the life-changing power of words with the affirming effect of tattoos, the power of an intention is amplified. How can we use words to recommit in a powerful way and deepen our relationship with ourselves? In this episode, we're joined by the founder of Conscious Ink, Frank Gjata. We talk about how to use temporary tattoos to support our intentions. We also discuss how to grow and change without suffering. The more fun and alive we are, the quicker we learn and the quicker things get seated in us. -Frank Gjata Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode -How to tattoo a context instead of static words in a commitment There are so many ways tattoos can be employed to remind us of what's important and what we want to focus on. Their permanent nature can be intimidating for a lot of us though. Can we use ink in an open-ended way so that the body art evolves with us? -A case for play in any context We've been taught to explore and talk about heavy topics by taking a serious and somber approach, it's work after all. Can we actually achieve more by dealing with heavy topics with more light-heartedness? -How to leapfrog suffering They say in order to have a breakthrough, we first need to have a breakdown, but that might be the messaging of our Upper Limit problem. How do we uncouple change and suffering? Guest Bio Frank Gjata is a transformational coach, accomplished writer, speaker, filmmaker and the founder of Conscious Ink. He is dedicated to creating innovative tools that support people (including himself) to wake up, live consciously and enthusiastically love the life we live. In 2010, Frank founded Conscious Ink, an empowerment company utilizing temporary tattoos to support people on their personal journey. With his creation of this innovative company, Frank actually invented an entire new category for temporary tattoos, geared at adults in this meaningful way, as it never had existed before. Today, Conscious Ink is recognized internationally, serves tens of thousands of people, supports countless charities and causes through its “Give-Ink Back” initiative, and can be found in hundreds of retail stores around the world. With a unique ability to communicate deep, meaningful and transformational concepts in a fun, lighthearted, and sometimes even quirky way, Frank and/or his work, has been featured in publications, such as Mantra Yoga + Health Magazine, Shape Magazine, Modern Meditation, The Good News Network, Fitness Magazine, Forbes, and Yoga Journal. He's been on numerous podcasts, and was a member of the Speaker Selection Committee for TedX Bend. Go to https://www.consciousink.com/ for more information.

It's Friday, March 8th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 1,347 displaced Nigerians killed by Muslim extremists International Christian Concern visited 17 different camps for Nigerian Internally Displaced Persons in three counties that were attacked by the Fulani Muslim militants between December 2023 and January 2024. Tragically, 1,347 displaced Nigerians were killed from last year until now, most of whom were women, children, and older adults who could not run to escape. Specifically, 741 people were killed in Mangu County, 397 people were killed in Bokkos County, and 209 people were killed in Barkin Ladi. Naomi David, a 43-year widow in Barkin Ladi County said, “Help us with food.” Nine people were killed in her family, including her husband. She explained, “My village was attacked by Fulani [militants] on Christmas Eve. The total number of 22 people [were] killed from the attack. … Fulani have occupied our land to graze their cattle.” Continue to pray for our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ and consider making a donation through International Christian Concern to help. Democrats upset with Biblically-sound prayer in Congress On February 15th, 26 Democratic Congressmen expressed their outrage that Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California was allowed to pray as a guest chaplain in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 30th, reports The Christian Post. In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, who had invited him to lead the prayer, they blasted Hibbs as a Christian nationalist who was guilty of “spewing hateful vitriol” toward homosexuals because he has dared to affirm a Biblical view of marriage and sexuality. They were especially upset that he claims that America was founded as a Christian nation. In a subsequent appearance on “Ministry Now” on Daystar TV, Hibbs explained the motivation of our founding fathers. HIBBS: “Our founding fathers said we're not going to start the business of the nation without prayer. People don't realize that.” He also noted some of the strange rules that governed his prayer, some of which he disregarded. HIBBS: “There are existing rules that say, for example, you're to avoid ‘Father.' That might offend some people. You can't bring up Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior ..." Co-HOST: “What?” HIBBS: “...because that's proselytizing.” Listen now to the powerful prayer of Pastor Jack Hibbs from January 30th in the opening moments of Congress. HIBBS: “Almighty God, and Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Together, we come before You in humility, as a people in need of Your forgiveness, Your mercy, Your goodness, and Your grace for these 250 or so years. “Our fathers, in this Congress, have prayed for Your guidance and protection. And so we stand here, in humble petition, that You today might do the same, that this nation and its unparalleled Constitution, Your great gift to all freedom-loving people, might be renewed here, and across this land, as a beacon of hope to all who seek peace. “I ask You today, Father, to bring to us a great awakening of righteousness and confidence in You, Who alone is mighty to save. Hear my cry in this hour of great need, that we might be humbly blessed before You in the repentance of our national sins. “You, Almighty God, are the source of all wisdom, and there is no wisdom, but that which comes from You. So please, come upon those here who are the stewards over the business of our nation with Your wisdom which comes from above and with Your holy fear, knowing that Your coming day of judgment draws nearer, when all who have been, and are now in the authority, will answer to You, the great Judge of Heaven and Earth for the decisions that they make here in this place. “I offer this prayer to you Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our crucified Savior and resurrected Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Indiana killed fewer unborn babies Indiana recorded its lowest number of abortions in 50 years at the end of 2023. The state's Department of Health reported 46 surgical abortions during the fourth quarter of last year. Indiana enacted a law banning nearly all abortions last August. Mike Fichter with Indiana Right to Life told LifeNews, “While we are encouraged that abortion numbers fell in Indiana to the lowest fourth quarter numbers in five decades, we grieve the loss of 46 children and renew our commitment to making Indiana a state where every pregnant mother receives compassionate support and every baby's life is protected.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Vermont school must pay $75,000 to fired Christian coach A Vermont school district has acknowledged that a snowboarding coach did not violate its rules when he criticized a trans sports policy. And now the school district will pay $75,000 to the coach to end the legal battle, reports Alliance Defending Freedom. David Bloch, a former snowboarding coach at Woodstock Union High School, filed a lawsuit last year after being fired for saying, in a conversation with a student, that he believed biological males should not be allowed to compete in girls' sports. CVS and Walgreens selling Abortion Kill Pill CVS and Walgreens announced that they will begin selling the abortion pill nationwide, even though it has killed millions of babies and injured countless thousands of women, reports LifeNews.com. The two pharmacy chains recently received certification to dispense the drugs in a small group of states, a process they initiated after the Food and Drug Administration approved new regulations last year allowing brick and mortar retailers to offer chemical abortion. Pro-life groups condemned the decision, saying that the Abortion Kill Pill ends the lives of babies before birth and that chemical abortion poses greater risks for women than surgical abortions – even as high as four times the risk. Up to one in five women will experience complications from the Abortion Kill Pill. Women are flooding emergency rooms across the country with medical and physical damage from these abortion pills. Deputies rescue 5-year-old autistic girl in Florida swamp And finally, a 5-year-old autistic girl was reported missing recently near Tampa, Florida, after she wandered off and got lost in a swamp. The haunt of snapping turtles, alligators, water moccasins, and other beasties, Florida swamps are no place for an unattended child. Providentially, a helicopter pilot spotted her and guided law enforcement officers on the ground towards her, reports Good News Network. Listen. HELICOPTER PILOT: “Hey, I think I got her in the woods. She might be able to hear her name if you call her. She gonna be about 80 feet in front of you. I've got two deputies. Just keep walking in that direction.” When those deputies on the ground saw her, they were overcome with joy. DEPUTY 1: “Oh there she is. I see her. Genesis, come her sweetie.” DEPUTY 2: “Come her sweetheart.” GENESIS: “Hey!” DEPUTY 1: “Hey!” DEPUTY 2: “Come on sweetheart.” DEPUTY 1: (laughs with delight) DEPUTY #2: “Hi, baby girl. Let's get you out of the water, okay? You were walking quite a bit, sweetheart. We were looking for you, sweetheart.” A heartwarming story to be sure. And a picture of how Christ rescues us with great rejoicing. As the father in the Prodigal Son parable said, in Luke 15:24, “He was lost, but now he is found.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, March 8th in the year of our Lord 2024. But I am leaning into the character of God for what I know to be true about who He is! “Participants in the ‘Executive Masters in Leadership' course, based at YWAM Arusha, Tanzania, took a field trip in two buses to Maasai land, where they observed our thriving community development program. “On the return trip to Arusha, a truck, that had lost its brakes, smashed into our second bus, literally crushing it from top to bottom. Eleven of our beloved friends were killed and eight others are severely wounded, battling for their lives. We have not seen a tragedy of this magnitude in all of YWAM's history and we are all devastated.” Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Survivors of Hamas' attack sue crypto firm for funding terror group Jewish survivors of the October 7th attack by Hamas, the Islamic terrorist group, as well as the loved ones of those still being held hostage in the Gaza Strip, are alleging the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange has allowed the terror group to raise funds using its platform, reports Fox Business. A lawsuit against Binance, filed by the National Jewish Advocacy Center in the U.S. Middle District Court of Alabama, states the crypto exchange has allowed Hamas to raise funds without any consequences. Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 people, injured 6,900 others, and kidnapped 239 people. The lawsuit states, "For such an attack to be successful or even contemplated, significant funding was necessary. Defendants' contributions to the funding of this attack cannot be overstated." Between January 2018 and May 2022, Binance facilitated nearly $900 million in transactions between customers in the United States and Iran, a violation of U.S. sanctions. Iran is known to finance terrorist groups, such as the Lebanon-based Hezzbollah. Biden and Trump went to southern border last Thursday Last Thursday, President Joe Biden went to the border at Brownsville, Texas where few illegal immigrants cross the border, ranked the 29th-most trafficked town by illegal border-crossers, according to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, reports Fox News. In an attempt to confuse the voters who are upset with Biden for allowing 8 million illegals enter America since he's been in office, the president called for Donald Trump and Republicans to support his bogus border security bill. BIDEN: “I understand my predecessor is in Eagle Pass, [Texas] today. So, here's what I would say to Mr. Trump. Instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation, join me in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill. We can do it together. You know, and I know it's the toughest, most efficient, most effective border security bill this country has ever seen. So, instead of playing politics with the issue, why don't we just get together and get it done?” Needless to say, Biden was the one playing politics. When Donald Trump appeared at Eagle Pass, Texas last Thursday, one of the most trafficked towns on the southern border with Mexico, where hundreds of thousands have illegally crossed, he said this. TRUMP: “Now, the United States is being overrun by the Biden migrant crime. It's a new form of vicious violation to our country. It's migrant crime. We call it Biden migrant crime. Every time you hear the term ‘migrant crime,' you know where that comes from, allowing millions and millions of people to come in.” Possible foreign terrorists coming across southern border In 2022 and 2023, take a listen to the number of foreign nationals who have been found crossing our southern border illegally. According to data leaked to Fox News by Customs and Border Protection, there have been 26,113 Chinese, 12,604 Russians, 6,386 Afghans, 3,153 Egyptians, 659 Iranians, and 538 Syrians. Appearing on the Fox News Channel with Sean Hannity, former President Trump concluded that these foreign nationals, from countries hostile to America, are up to no good. TRUMP: “So, you have 28,000 from China, all fighting age. You don't see women and you don't see men much older than that. It's from 18 to 25, 26 years old. There's something going on. And they're coming from Yemen that we're bombing. They're coming from prisons in the Congo, [Africa]. These are rough people that are coming in.” HANNITY: “Why would they make that long journey to our southern border? And my fear is that we have in this country, because these illegals are not vetted, I fear that terrorist cells have set up in this country that will plot, plan, scheme the next 9/11 or worse. I pray to God, as I said, I'm wrong. I don't think I'm wrong, Mr. President.” Heroic garbageman saves man, woman and dog from burning home And finally, on February 27th, when two garbage men in Tipton, England saw fires ripping through a small brick townhome, they sprung into action and rescued a man, woman, and their dog, reports Good News Network. Steve Whitehouse said, “I saw a young woman screaming from the balcony and all I could think was that I needed to get to her as quickly as possible.” Whitehouse climbed up to a first-floor balcony three times to rescue the trio from the flames. He first carried the woman down, but when he turned back to help the young man, he found he was shouting to his dog, still inside. Bundling the dog in a blanket, Whitehouse climbed down and told the owner to throw the dog to him. After catching him, the garbageman returned up to the balcony to help the man. Meanwhile, the other garbage man, Kevin Marriott, went door to door shouting for people to get clear of the connected townhomes. Senior firefighter Chris Green told the BBC, “I have no doubt that without Steve's incredible bravery the outcome could have been very different. I have no idea how he managed to do what he did. It was heroic. The fire and smoke were coming out of the property's rear door like a blow torch.” In John 15:13, Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” In this case, garbage man Steve Whitehouse was willing to lay down his life for strangers. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Evangelizing pastor in Nepal fears conviction sets ominous precedent As he awaits prison after a wrongful conviction for evangelizing in Nepal, Pastor Keshab Raj Acharya fears his case will set a precedent for authorities to incarcerate other Christians, reports Morning Star News. The 35-year-old pastor said he fears that the police and the judiciary will cite his case as an example to send Christians to prison for either evangelizing or being guilty of so-called “forcible conversion” even without evidence. Pastor Acharya said, “In case someone willfully converts to Christ, the police and the court will convict the person through whom this believer has heard the message of Christ and His salvation. Where does the police/judiciary draw the line between ‘forced conversion' and ‘voluntary conversion'?” After Nepal's High Court reduced his sentence on July 13th from two years in prison to one year, the Supreme Court refused to consider Pastor Acharya's appeal on October 6th. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on My account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in Heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Speaker Mike Johnson unapologetically defends our Christian heritage Here in America, the Left believes the world is coming to an end because Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana, a self-professed evangelical Christian, was elected House Speaker, reports WorldNetDaily.com. Listen to what this former Alliance Defending Freedom attorney had to say from the floor of the House six months ago during Faith Month as he explained what President Thomas Jefferson meant in his 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists about a wall of separation between church and state. JOHNSON: “Jefferson clearly did not mean that metaphorical wall was to keep religion from influencing issues of civil government. To the contrary, it was meant to keep the federal government from impeding the religious practice of citizens.” House Speaker Johnson explained the mindset of America's founding fathers. JOHNSON: “The founders wanted to protect the church from an encroaching state, not the other way around. The majority of the founders, having personally witnessed the abuses of the Church of England, were determined to prevent the official establishment of any single national denomination or religion. Of course. We know that. “But here's the point. They very deliberately listed religious liberty, the free exercise of religion, as the first freedom protected in the Bill of Rights because they wanted, here's the key, they wanted everyone to freely live out their faith as that would ensure a robust presence of moral virtue in the public square and the free marketplace of ideas.” Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes.” Pro-life rescuer found guilty of defending pre-born babies Pro-life hero Paulette Harlow, age 75, was found guilty yesterday on charges of violating the misguided Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act for her involvement in a traditional pro-life rescue conducted at the infamous late-term abortion mill in Washington, D.C., the Washington Surgi-Clinic, in October 2020, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In a pro-life rescue, the pro-life activist participates in civil disobedience by peacefully blocking the doors of the abortion mill, recognizing that she might be the last hope to spare the baby in the womb from certain execution. Harlow's case was a bench trial, without a jury. The verdict was handed down by the pro-abortion Judge Colleen Collar-Kotelly, who has argued that the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery after the Civil War, may include a “right” to abortion. Because of her poor health, which includes debilitating diabetes, Hashimoto's disease, and severe back pain requiring the use of a wheelchair, Harlow was transported from Massachusetts to Washington, D.C., in a special-needs van equipped with a mattress for her to lie down in when she appeared for trial in October. Her sentencing date is set for March 19, at 10:00am. Remarkably, Paulette Harlow was the picture of optimism. HARLOW: “Do not be discouraged. Don't be weary. We are on God's side, and He is doing so many things for us because we know that pro-life is what God wants. It's what what He has mandated for us. “Don't be afraid to get involved. Don't be afraid of counting the cost, like, ‘Oh, this might be hard to go out sidewalk counseling. It's cold.' Yeah, it's brutal out there, but it's necessary. And you will be doing exactly what the apostles did and what God is calling you to do and asking each and every one of us to do. “So, don't be afraid of it. You're not going to be going over alone. God will go with you. It's His work. These are His precious little children that are being killed, and we have to stop it.” In Galatians 6:9, the Apostle Paul says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Man with advanced Parkinson's gets spinal implant enabling him to walk And finally, a Frenchman who received a new spinal implant has regained significant motor functions including the ability to walk unaided for miles after losing all such faculties to advanced-stage Parkinson's Disease, reports Good News Network. In the latter stages of the moto-neuron disorder, patients lose the ability to correctly use their muscles, and at some points movement can shut off entirely and they can crumple to the floor. Parkinson's disease is caused by the progressive loss of dopamine-producing neurons. 63-year-old Marc from Bordeaux, France was diagnosed with the condition 20 years ago, and it got so bad that someone had to hold his arms at all times in case his walking gait just froze. To coordinate the stimulator, Marc had to do a lot of walking around in a lab while the team monitored him with motion detection cameras and computer modeling. The patient wears a movement sensor on each leg and, when walking is initiated, the implant automatically switches on, and begins delivering pulses of stimulation to the spinal neurons. The aim is to correct abnormal signals that are sent from the brain, down the spine, to the legs in order to restore normal movement, reports The Guardian. His doctor explained the difference this new spinal implant has made for Marc. DOCTOR: “After a few months of rehabilitation, supported by the stimulation, Marc regained the ability to work independently outside. He does not experience the frequent falls that he experienced before. “This is only one participant and we don't know whether all the individuals with Parkinson's disease will respond to the therapy. But we are committed to test this intervention soon in six additional individuals with Parkinson's disease.” Watch an eye-opening 3-minute video that shows how successful this spinal implant has been for this advanced stage Parkinson's patient. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Why Nigeria tops list of 2023 Worst Persecutors Appearing on Washington Watch, the Family Research Council radio show, Jeff King, president of International Christian Concern, explained that Nigeria, Africa now tops the list of the 2023 Worst Persecutors of countries worldwide, edging out North Korea. KING: “Well, North Korea can always be number one or two on the list. We wanted to move Nigeria to the top. “If you look at the last 20 years, imagine up to 100,000 Christians killed, 3.5 million farmers pushed off their lands their land stolen. And this is all from radical Islamists. The mindbender in all this is that, year after year, they come to Washington and they say, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is such a hard problem to tackle. We're doing our best. Maybe if you sent more money or arms, we could do a better job.' “To scale these numbers up to the United States, imagine if in the last 20 years, 400,000 Christians had been murdered, and 18 million people kicked out of their homes and the government never does anything. The reason is because the Islamists are embedded in the government and they control the security organs of the state -- that's Intel, that's police, army, etc. So, Washington, I think, is slowly waking up to this and saying this is actually a religious conflict. They didn't actually even see that before.” The 88-page report documenting the world's most oppressive countries for Christians. Between 200 and 300 million Christians live under persecution – attacks, arrests, forced conversions, denial of rights and more – fueled by radical Islam, communist regimes, discrimination, and plain evil. Pro-Hamas mob shuts down NYC's Grand Central Station Christian talk show host Todd Starnes reports that New York City's Grand Central Terminal was shut down on Saturday after thousands of pro-Hamas demonstrators, wearing headscarves, stormed the historic building. PROTESTORS: (yelling) “Shut it down. Shut it down.” NEW YORK POLICE: “This is the New York City Police Department. You are unlawfully obstructing pedestrian traffic. You are ordered to disperse now to allow the safe flow of pedestrian traffic. If you do so voluntarily, no charges will be placed against you. If you refuse to disperse, you will be placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct.” Viral News NYC tweeted, “Pro-Hamas and pro-Palestinians rioters break windows, spit, and kick cops.” Elsewhere in New York City, violent demonstrators clashed with Jews in Times Square and Columbus Circle outside Central Park. An Israeli flag was set on fire and fake blood was thrown on the front doors of The New York Times. The Netherlands: Abortions up almost 15% in 2022 According to the Dutch Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate, the number of abortions in the Netherlands increased by almost 15% last year, reports Evangelical Focus. The rise in mothers between 25 and 35 years of age who kill their unborn babies was up by 23%. And 13% more teenage mothers chose to abort their children. Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” DeSantis remains number one challenger to Trump According to a RealClearPolitics.com average of polls of Republican presidential contenders between October 17th and November 5th, Donald Trump polled at 58.5% among likely GOP voters. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in at 14.4%, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley at 9%, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at 4.7%. Last Wednesday in Miami, NBC hosted the third Republican presidential debate which Trump chose not to attend. DeSantis, who has been endorsed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, spoke decisively on key issues like Bidenomics. DeSANTIS: “I'm going to take all the executive orders, the regulations, everything involving Bidenomics, and I'm going to rip it up and I'm going to throw it in the trashcan on Day One where it belongs.” The Florida governor spoke to our southern border. DeSANTIS: “I'm sending the U.S. military to the border. I'm going to stop the invasion cold. If someone in the drug cartels is sneaking fentanyl across the border when I'm president, that's going to be the last thing they do. We're going to shoot them stone cold dead.” DeSantis addressed Hamas-supporting students here in America on a student visa. DeSANTIS: “If you are here on a student visa, as a foreign national, and you're making common cause with Hamas, I'm canceling your visa and I'm sending you home.” And he appealed directly to the voter. DeSANTIS: “I will take the arrows. I will take the barbs because it's not about me. It's about you. It's not about the past. It's about your future. I will always put service above self as President. And, as your president, I will not let you down.” Sen. Joe Manchin not to seek re-election, possible presidential run Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, age 76, announced Thursday that he will not seek re-election to the Senate in 2024, reports TheHill.com. MANCHIN: “After months of deliberation and long conversation with my family, I believe in my heart of hearts that I have accomplished what I set out to do for West Virginia. I have made one of the toughest decisions of my life and decided that I will not be running for re-election to the United States Senate.” He was staring down the toughest electoral challenge of his Senatorial career, as West Virginia Republican Governor Jim Justice has increasingly become the favorite to win next year. However, Manchin has long flirted with a 2024 presidential bid with an upstart centrist party, called No Labels, that has shown interest in fielding a bipartisan presidential ticket. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Ugandan Muslim husband sets Christian wife on fire A 32-year-old mother of three children in the town of Budaka, Uganda, named Hajara Namwase, accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior on May 3rd, while her Muslim husband was away on business in South Sudan. When Hajara returned home from her Christian small group meeting on October 17th, she found her husband looking through some of her belongings. She said, “I got scared upon seeing him, because he had some Gospel tracts and a small New Testament Bible which I could not hide.” Upon seeing the Bible and other Christian literature, her 42-year-old husband, Musa Kalele, became furious, left the room, and returned with a container of gas. She said, “He took some bedsheets, covered them around my body and then removed me out of the house. He forced me to lie down. He took the petrol, then poured it on me and thereafter took a matchbox, lit it, and the fire began burning me up.” Her daughter alerted neighbors who rescued her and took her to the Mbale Regional Hospital. Hajara has had specialized treatment for the third-degree burns over much of her body, reports Morning Star News. Proverbs 29:22 says, "A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression." For the moment, her hate-filled husband has fled to South Sudan. In the meantime, Hajara is worried about where she will live after her release from the hospital since all her relatives are Muslims. Plus, she fears what will become of her children, ages 4, 6 and 9, who have come under the care of their paternal grandmother. Please pray for Hajara's healing, for the repentance and salvation of her Muslim husband, Musa, and for the safety of her three children. NBC's Lester Holt asked identical question of DeSantis as Brent Bozel Ahead of the Wednesday night GOP Presidential debate in Miami, the Media Research Center published a video on Monday of Brent Bozell's exclusive interview with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. BOZELL: “If [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu picked up the phone and called you, as soon as we're done here, and said, ‘Governor DeSantis, what should I do?' What would you tell him?” DESANTIS: “I would tell him, ‘You have to finally end Hamas once and for all. And that means taking out all their terrorist infrastructure, eradicating the group from existence. Because all that will happen if you just do some glancing blows, they will regroup, they will do the same attacks again, and we're going to have another cycle of this. So, now is the time to cut out the cancer and get the job done.” Interestingly, just two days later, NBC's Lester Holt asked DeSantis the identical question on Wednesday night before a national audience. HOLT: “As President of the United States, what would you be urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do at this moment, Governor DeSantis?” Vivek Ramaswamy asked GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel to resign Vivek Ramaswamy, the multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur and first-time candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, demanded that Ronna McDaniel, the GOP chairwoman, resign during Wednesday night's debate, reports Fox News. He was especially frustrated by the election losses just the night before, on November 7th, when Republicans in Virginia lost the House, the Republican candidate for Kentucky governor lost, and Issue 1 in Ohio enshrined abortion into the Buckeye state's constitution. RAMASWAMY: “I am upset about what happened last night. We've become a party of losers, at the end of the day. There's a cancer in the Republican establishment. Let's speak the truth. I mean, since Ronna McDaniel took over as chairwoman of the RNC in 2017, we have lost 2018, 2020, 2022. No red wave that never came. We got trounced last night in 2023. “And I think that we have to have accountability in our party. For that matter, Ronna, if you want to come on stage tonight, you want to look the GOP voters in the eye and tell them you resign, I will yield my time to you.” Ramaswamy also had some choice words for the liberal moderators of the third Republican presidential debate. RAMASWAMY: “Think about who's moderating this debate. This should be Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Elon Musk. We'd have 10 times the viewership, asking questions that GOP primary voters actually care about, and bring in more people into our party. (applause) Do you think Democrats would actually hire Greg Gutfeld to host a Democratic debate? They wouldn't do it. “Kristen [Welker], I'm gonna use this time because it's actually about you in the media and the corrupt media establishment. Ask you about the Trump-Russia collusion hoax that you pushed on this network for years. Was that real? Or was that Hillary Clinton made-up disinformation? Answer the question. Go!” KRISTEN WELKER: “Mr. Ramaswamy,” (applause and cheers) RAMASWAMY: “This is how we get our country back. We need accountability because this media rigged the 2016 election. They rigged the 2020 election with the Hunter Biden laptop story.” LESTER HOLT: ““Mr. Ramaswamy, your time is up.” RAMASWAMY: “They're going to rig this election unless there is accountability.” Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, wrote: "When an NFL team keeps losing games, the coach gets fired. So why does the RNC keep going to war led by the same losers who failed last time?" Cop saves trucker from burning truck And finally, the Salisbury, North Carolina Police Department just honored one of their own who said he was willing to die in a truck fire in order to save an unconscious driver, reports Good News Network. Back on August 8th, Lieutenant Corey Brooks saw a tractor-trailer hit the guardrails along Interstate 85 and catch fire. A former truck driver himself, Brooks saw the flames from beneath the truck following the fuel line. He knew he only had seconds to get the driver out. BROOKS: “I was thinking ‘I am either going to die here with him or I am going to get him out of here.'” Brooks screamed at the driver, Michael Williams, to get out, but he was unconscious. The cop quickly realized he must remove the driver himself, unlatching the seatbelt. He could feel the heat of the flames and he could smell burning rubber. At any point, the truck could have exploded. The body cam footage of the rescue is nothing short of something from a Die Hard film. Providentially, Williams made a full recovery and thanked the North Carolina cop for saving his life. BROOKS: “He says now I get to see my kids again. We're going to be connected forever.” John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Or, in this case, an absolute stranger! It would block prohibitions on partial-birth and dismemberment abortions, allow abortionists to target disabled babies, and end parental consent requirements for abortion. Plus, if Issue 1 passes tomorrow in Ohio, it would empower minors to make their own decisions about contraception, sterilization, and so-called “gender transition.” 10-year-old quadruple amputee to climb mountain to raise money And finally, a 10-year-old quadruple amputee is going to attempt to summit a 656-foot mountain to raise money for other children with disabilities, reports Good News Network. The climber, Luke Mortimer, is determined to summit Embsay Crag, in North Yorkshire, England which he can see from his rural home. The kind-hearted youngster has dubbed the peak his ‘Everest,' and is undertaking the challenge as an attempt to “return the favor” to charities which have helped him. Luke was just seven years old when he contracted the severe bacterial infections meningococcal meningitis and septicemia. Although he survived the deadly illnesses, he lost all four of his limbs and needed 23 painful surgeries over a ten-week period to replace missing skin and address his wounds. Charities and fundraisers set up in the wake of Luke's amputations managed $18,000 worth of donations from an army of well-wishers, allowing him to get his prosthetics. During the two-mile journey to the top of the summit, Luke will be wearing a set of shortened knee-length prosthetics called ‘stubbies' for the climb. Here at The Worldview we salute Luke Mortimer and pray that he successfully completes his mountainous journey and that the people of Britain would be generous as they bless other children who face amputations. “There are exciting shifts in B2B marketing which is going through a renaissance right now,” underlines Melissa Furze, Vice President, Customer Science and B2B Institute, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, during this fascinating conversation with podcast host Ben Downing as together they examine the shape of meaningful media experiences in the evolving B2B advertising space. With over 65 million companies on their platform, LinkedIn “sits at a pretty unique space when it comes to understanding what's happening in the professional world”, explains Melissa who leads a multi-disciplined team which includes marketing strategists, researchers, content solutions, engineers, and analysts. While there are differences in terms of B2C and B2B marketing, notably that B2B buying decisions involve high consideration purchases with typically longer sales cycles and often larger buying committees compared to the individual consumer's buying decision, during this episode we learn there is definitely a shift towards more emotional, human-centered and ‘story full' advertising in B2B. At LinkedIn, for example, they have new ad formats called Thought Leader Ads where brands have the opportunity to tell their stories through the voices of employees and their experiences by sponsoring a post from individual employees and executives. B2B advertising is seeing a shift around creativity. Recent research from LinkedIn found 50% of B2B marketing leaders say creativity is their biggest priority. While B2B marketers are understanding the importance of storytelling. In their recent B2B marketing benchmark report LinkedIn found that “43% of B2B marketing leaders actually say that storytelling will be one of the most important future skills for their marketing team.” Press play on this episode to learn how CMOs and their marketing teams are building impactful media experiences in the B2B advertising space to connect and build meaningful emotional connections. I'm about to go as DEEP as I've ever gone, publicly or privately. But I consider my podcast family, like family. And I appreciate you listening, caring, sharing, and then going and serving. You ready to dive in with me? Here. We. GO!!! Like many of you, the pandemic nearly broke me. Now listen carefully, it almost BROKE me. While the stuff I'm about to share has been held extremely close to the cuff, God has told me to share it. All of it. Not the good stuff…the UGLY stuff. The tough stuff. The stuff that no one ever gets to know. WHY? Because as I'm being called to serve, save, and inspire more & more people, you need to know that I've been THERE. To that place that most people have been, but rarely like to discuss. And think that I've never tasted. #False Today, I discuss it. I share it. And I hope that it in some way inspires you to know that you're not alone. In today's episode, I share & discuss: - Why I'm nervous as heck to share what I'm about to share…and WHY I'm sharing it. - The TV Show STRONG I did, why I did it, and how it actually instilled a deeper desire to IMPACT even more. - My 2018 knee surgery and why a knee replacement at age 48. - 2019. Bored and Burnt-out of my current day/day but was ready to “go to another level.” - 2020. The pandemic hits and I was ALREADY burnt out going into the pandemic. The confusion, uncertainty, and trying times kept me up day & night as I felt in many ways God was using me to keep other people ALIVE during this time. Internally, I was dying. - My “Get Your Mind Right” book comes out on June 2, 2020, and why that was the “worst” day in the history of the world. - The “Good News Network” and how going live 7-days a week for 91 straight days kept me alive during one of the toughest stretches of my life, despite having days literally 2-minutes before hitting the button I didn't know if I could do it. - Politics and how I regret closing my gym down for as long as I did. My gut told me just to stay open and not be carting EVERYTHING outside every day. #TrainWreck - My 2nd knee replacement on Dec 6 th, 2020. What happened, why I did it, and what it did to me. - Bringing Jeff Bristol in with me as a partner at FQ10 so that he could run the shop as my vision to “change the world” got bigger. - …and 6-weeks later, my back went out. Like literally broke. - 5 very important life lessons from a year that was the toughest 9-month stretch of my life…and I didn't even know it was about to get WORSE. My friends, this was not an easy episode to share or get through. I still to this day shake my head and say, “What the heck happened in 2020?” But upon reflection, I realize that going through all this how much the human mind, body, and soul can literally take before being broken. My hope and intention are that by sharing you don't wait to the point of being completely broken to do something about it. Sometimes life whoops you…and sometimes you whoop it. That's all part of what makes it…LIFE. If today you are in a hole, know that you are not alone. I've been there. And if today, you are NOT in a hole, enjoy life to the fullest and drink from the cup of gratitude. But if and when you may find yourself down & out, know that I've been there and WILL be in the foxhole with you as well. Thanks for listening. And thank you for sharing. I really want this message to get out there. There are a lot of people hurting. But many feel like they are alone. Or don't want to share what's happening on the “inside.” My sole purpose in sharing is to save one. I'm not sure who that ONE is today, but we need to proliferate this world with more good news, more motivation, and more inspiration. And sometimes that comes in the form in knowing “Man, I never knew Todd went through that. I gotta dig myself up and KEEP going. Whatever. It. Takes.” Hope it helps and again, thank you for listening and being part of my Tribe. #WeGotThis When you share this episode on your social media, with your team or those you love, or in your newsletter, please tag me at: IG/Twitter: @ToddDurkin Facebook: @ToddDurkinFQ10 #ToddDurkinIMPACTShow #Ep. 302 #ReInventionSeries Additionally, please make sure you: 1. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Indonesia closes church before Resurrection Sunday Indonesian officials have closed the Purwakarta Simalungun Protestant Christian Church building in Cigelam Village because it did not have a building permit, reports International Christian Concern. The Regent, Anne Mustika, decided to close the church to avoid conflict in the Muslim-majority country. A pastor asked if the church could still hold their Resurrection Sunday service at their original church building. So far, no response. Will Biden cede American sovereignty to the W.H.O.? Appearing on Daystar TV with Table Talk Host Joni Lamb, former Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann warned Christian viewers about the possible loss of American sovereignty. BACHMANN: “The Biden administration wanted to yield and give over full United States authority over health care decisions over issuing a pandemic to the World Health Organization. “So, if we thought it was bad enough that Dr. [Anthony] Fauci was telling us what we had to do, or the Centers for Disease Control, mandating vaccines, mandating lockdowns, mandating mask wearing, restricting the right to travel, closing businesses, closing churches -- all of that came from emergency powers. “Today, we are still under emergency powers. President Biden said he would give up his emergency power in May. Well, that's interesting. Why May? “It's because this coming May, in Geneva, Switzerland, the Biden administration seeks to change the rules of the International Health Regulations at the World Health Organization so that we can give full sovereignty over health care to the World Health Organization.” In response, Republican Senators Kevin Cramer of North Dakota and Jim Risch of Idaho introduced a resolution on March 6th to ensure that President Joe Biden does not cede U.S. sovereignty to entities like the World Health Organization by ratifying global pandemic agreements without Senate approval. Senator Cramer said, “Any binding agreement with the World Health Organization should require Senate ratification as a treaty. The World Health Organization has proven itself incapable of holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable for its role in the COVID-19 pandemic. Relinquishing U.S. sovereignty to an international entity like this would dilute American excellence.” (Read the resolution wording.) Joining Senators Cramer and Risch are Republican Senators John Barrasso of Wyoming, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Ted Cruz of Texas, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Mike Braun of Indiana, Steve Daines of Montana, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, John Thune of South Dakota, Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, and Joni Ernst of Iowa. Contaminated Pfizer COVID jabs killed 2 children, injured 1,200 A new study reveals that a large “mega-batch” of Pfizer gene-based COVID injectable product “targeted at children” has killed two ten-year-old boys and injured at least 1,264 youngsters, reports LifeSiteNews.com. A March 31st report by Sasha Latypova — a former pharmaceutical executive turned researcher — highlighted a study performed by Medicinal Genomics that discovered and documented DNA contamination in Pfizer “mega-batch” number FL8095, which was marketed to children between the ages of 5 and 11. Right Side Broadcasting Network suspended Another day and another attack on conservative voices in America. It is the Google-YouTube conglomerate that again is being accused of using its online power to "eradicate the web of conservative voices" after its decision to suspend Right Side Broadcasting Network. The conservative network was accused of "pushing content on the stolen elections, fraud in the 2020 elections, and [an absence] of opposing voices," reports WorldNetDaily.com. It's a frequent claim from leftists who want to suppress concerns about America's elections. But the facts remain that a Media Research Center poll after the 2020 presidential election revealed that Joe Biden almost undoubtedly would have lost key swing states – and the election, had social and legacy media not interfered in the election by suppressing damaging, but accurate, reporting about the Biden family's international business schemes. Proverbs 29:27 says, “An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous.” Further, there was the undue influence on election results from the $413 million that Mark Zuckerberg handed out through foundations to local election officials, who often used the windfall to recruit voters from Democrat districts. Almost certainly without those factors, which came from outside America's election process, the U.S. would be in the middle of President Trump's second term now. Amateur gold digger finds huge nugget worth $160,000 in Australia And finally, an Australian gold digger turned up a stone weighing 10 pounds, more than half of which is gold, and one of the largest finds in recent times, reports the Good News Network. It's value? A whopping $160,000! Darren Kamp, who runs the recreational prospecting business called Lucky Strike Gold, says he's never seen a rock like it before in his 43 years of looking for gold. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Iranian authorities have killed 500 protestors since last September When the Muslim Iranian revolutionaries, led by Ayatollah Khomeini, seized power back in 1979, they immediately pushed to rid the country of any foreign Christian elements, ending all formal foreign missionary efforts, reports International Christian Concern. Since then, Iranian Muslims have followed Christ through a rapidly growing “house-church” movement. In fact, an independent survey in 2020 revealed that there are one million Christians in Iran today. Most of them are new converts from Islam. In September 2022, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman, named Mahsa Amini, visited family members in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. The notorious morality police arrested her under charges of not properly wearing the hijab, the Muslim headscarf. While detained, the morality police brutally tortured Mahsa who fell into a coma and died three days later. This tragic incident sparked a nationwide protest movement with Iranians from all ethnic and religious backgrounds taking to the streets in dozens of Iranian cities. Surprisingly, these recent protests have continued for months. To their shame, Iranian authorities have killed 500 protestors. Plus, they have held so-called “fast-track” trials which have led to the executions of protestors charged with “waging a war on God.” In solidarity with Mahsa Amini, the protestors have adopted the foundational slogan “Women, Life, Liberty.” Pray for our Iranian brothers and sisters in Christ. Int'l Criminal Court issued arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin The International Criminal Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin who bears individual criminal responsibility for the abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children which amounts to war crimes, reports The Mirror. It also issued a warrant for the arrest of Maria Belova, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation on similar allegations. Moscow has previously said it does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and denied allegations of war crimes during the invasion. The large investigation also found crimes committed against Ukrainians on Russian territory, including deported Ukrainian children who were prevented from reuniting with their families, a “filtration” system aimed at singling out Ukrainians for detention, and torture and inhumane detention conditions. Euthanasia deaths rise by 10% in Belgium The Belgian Federal Control and Evaluation Commission on Euthanasia reported that 2,966 people died by euthanasia in 2022, reports Evangelical Focus. Government officials in Belgium said, “The number increased by 9.85% compared to 2021.” The majority of the euthanasia patients (69.9%) were over 70, with 42% older than 80. Even more tragically, the Commission said that 513 of the people killed in 2022 by euthanasia, or 17%, were “people whose [natural] deaths were not expected in the foreseeable future.” In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” To learn more about the debate over euthanasia, check out the website PatientsRightsCouncil.org. Library director fired for opposing Kirk Cameron's read-aloud Last month, Kirk Cameron, "Duck Dynasty" star Missy Robertson, and women's sports advocate Riley Gaines joined forces for a children's story time event at Hendersonville Library, about 20 miles northeast of downtown Nashville, Tennessee, reports The Blaze. Cameron and Robertson have both written children's books published by Brave Books, a patriotic and God-centered publishing company, which sponsored the event. Appearing on the Blaze TV show "Unashamed with Phil & Jase Robertson,” Missy explained what happened. MISSY ROBERSON: “When they scheduled to have this function at the library, there was so much outpouring, great response from the community, that the guy that was running the library could not believe it. He was like, ‘Whoever y'all are, y'all must be great because this is the most response we've ever had from a public event like this. This is gonna be awesome. Whoever this Kurt Cameron guy is.” JACE ROBERSON: “He didn't know who y'all were.” Not surprisingly, once the liberal library director, Allan Morales, discovered who they were, he became horrified by their stand for Biblical values. MISSY ROBERSON: “So, Brave [Publishing] corrected him. Well, he finds out who Kirk Cameron is. And that's when the pushback began from them. He started a campaign in the community to shut it down without officially canceling it because then he knew that wouldn't be good for their library.” Kirk Cameron tweeted, “Despite the rain and the unkind pushback (from one disgruntled librarian), an OVERFLOW crowd of families, mayors, county commissioners, and celebs welcomed and joined us at the library in Hendersonville, TN, praying and teaching faith in God and moral values to our kids.” Though the event appeared to be a success, many in the community were not willing to overlook the treatment that Cameron, Robertson, and Gaines received that day. Last Wednesday, the Sumner County Library Board voted 4-3 to remove Morales as library director. 81-year-old survives 6 days in snowbank with croissants and candy And finally, an 81-year-old man survived on croissants, candy, and biscotti after a snowstorm left him stranded on a desolate California highway alone for nearly a week, reports the Good News Network. Jerry Jouret, a former NASA employee, set off in good weather in Gardnerville, but never made it to his destination in Big Pine, three hours away when the blizzard descended. After his car fell into a ditch, he smartly conserved his car battery and gas for several days—only starting the SUV's engine periodically to warm up. Five days after he set out, both attempts to find him were unsuccessful. Appearing on CNN, his grandson, Christian, described the impact of his prayer in the search effort. CHRISTIAN JOURET: “The search team was supposed to go out days prior, but the weather was so awful they couldn't get a helicopter in there. Days were going by where they couldn't get to him. And finally, you know, I prayed about it hard, prayed that the weather would change. “The next day was the most beautiful day we've had in weeks. They were able to get a helicopter out there and rescue him.” In Jeremiah 29:12, God declares, “Then, you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” In God's providence, on March 2, a California Highway Patrol helicopter identified a cellular ping from his phone. Miraculously, the senior was discharged from the hospital later that evening, suffering only from dehydration. Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, March 20th in the year of our Lord 2023. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Indonesian church shut down mid-worship Our persecution story today comes from Indonesia. On Sunday, February 19, authorities disbanded the congregation of the Kemah Daud Christian Church in Bandar Lampung in the middle of their worship service, reports International Christian Concern. John 4:23 says, “The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.” The devil hates when Christ followers worship their Lord. Ironically, the forced closure of the church was contrary to Indonesian President Jokowi's recent appeal and undermined the Indonesian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of worship and religion for all. In response to pushback from church leaders in this Muslim-majority nation, authorities granted the church a worship permit for the next two years while the building permit the church has submitted is being processed. Please pray for the protection and promotion of religious freedom in Indonesia. Pence and DeSantis boycott CPAC over homosexual controversy Neither former Vice President Mike Pence nor Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will appear at the Conservative Political Action Conference, reports ABC News. No doubt both likely presidential candidates are distancing themselves from Matt Schlapp, the chairman of CPAC, who has been accused of unwanted homosexual overtures. According to a report from The Daily Beast, Schlapp "groped" and "fondled" a Herschel Walker staffer on October 19th on a drive back from an Atlanta bar. The male staffer filed a lawsuit against Schlapp and his wife, Mercedes, seeking $9.4 million for sexual battery and defamation, reports Politico. Abortion Kill Pill could be declared illegal A pro-life, Christian federal judge in Texas, named Matthew Kacsmaryk, could single-handedly outlaw the abortion Kill Pill in all 50 states, reports Slate.com. A graduate of Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas School of Law, the 45-year-old Kacsmaryk served as Deputy General Counsel for First Liberty Institute, a conservative Christian legal group before President Donald Trump boldly nominated him in 2019 to serve as a United States district judge. The Washington Post reports that when Kacsmaryk was a 22-year-old law student, his 17-year-old sister got pregnant, and chose to place her baby with an adoptive married couple. That solidified his belief that every pregnancy should be treasured. According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, the abortion Kill Pill now accounts for the deaths of 53% of pre-born babies in the womb. Beyond the death of the child, medication abortion has serious side effects. They include fever, infection, pain, vomiting, diarrhea, feeling dizzy, a severe headache, heavy, prolonged bleeding for multiple weeks, incomplete abortion requiring surgical follow-up, short-lasting hot flashes, hemorrhage, blood clots, and possibly an undetected ectopic pregnancy, which is life-threatening. Plus, permanent infertility could result if a woman takes the abortion Kill Pill if an Rh negative mother is not administered RhoGAM as is done with dangerous "no-test" and telemedicine chemical abortions. Pray that Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk protects mothers and their unborn babies across the nation from the abortion Kill Pill. Proverbs 21:3 says, “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.” New details on suicide of former Clinton aide with Epstein connections New details emerged last week regarding the May 7, 2022 suicide of Mark Middleton, a 59-year-old former aide to President Bill Clinton, reports the New York Post. Not only did he shoot himself in the chest with a 12-gauge coach shotgun, but he tied an extension cord around his neck to ensure he would die by hanging. Contrary to initial reports that there was no gun found near the body at the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, there was indeed a gun 30 feet nearby. Officers determined that the gun was flung away from Middleton's body due to the recoil and angle off the ground. The former Clinton aide had ties to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Before he left politics in 1995, Middleton signed the sex fiend into the White House seven out of the 17 times he visited the residence. He also reportedly rode on Epstein's infamous “Lolita Express” jet. However, one report on RadarOnline.com suggests Middleton did not commit suicide, but that it might have been a homicide. Homeschooling up 30% Homeschooling saw a 30% increase in the 21-22 academic year while public school enrollment fell by more than 1.2 million students within the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports The Christian Post. The study from the Urban Institute found that private school enrollment increased by 4.3% between the fall of 2019 and the fall of 2021. And homeschool enrollment rose by 30%. Steven Duvall, director of research for the Home School Legal Defense Association, said, “We believe that homeschooling is a wonderful way to educate a child and that many hundreds of thousands of families made this same discovery during the pandemic.” Doctors continued CPR for 3 hours on toddler until life returned And finally, when 3-year-old Waylon Saunders arrived at the hospital, he was already legally dead and had been for a while. Found face-down in an icy backyard swimming pool, the Ontario, Canada toddler's body temperature was so low that paramedics' thermometers couldn't get a reading, and he had no pulse. Nevertheless, a team at Englehart Hospital in Petrolia, Ontario performed CPR for 3 hours without stopping, while simultaneously using other methods to warm his frozen body. Fortunately for Waylon they didn't stop, and after 3 hours of compressing his chest to artificially pump blood to his brain and other organs, Waylon's heart was restarted and kept on keeping on, reports the Good News Network. Dr. Janice Tijssen, the director of the pediatric critical care unit at Children's Hospital in Ontario, explained to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation how they saved Waylon's life. TIJSSEN: “There's not a lot you can do when a child is as cold as he was. In fact, he was so cold, we couldn't even get a temperature read on him. So, we just knew that he was very cold and needed to be rewarmed. So that was one of the main tasks that the team in Petrolia had to do and the other was providing high quality CPR.” Waylon's mother, Gillian, said she owes a lifetime of gratitude to the care team. She said, “They're heroes. I told them that they're God's soldiers.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, February 27th, in the year of our Lord 2023. It's Monday, February 20th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Christian families denied rations from Indian government Ten Christian families in the Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh were denied government incentives by the village administration due to their faith affiliation, reports International Christian Concern. They were summoned on January 26th where the villagers, influenced by the radical Hindu nationalists, pressured the Christians to give up their Christian faith or be denied provisions like rice, beans, and oil that the government otherwise provides for the poor. These Christian families, which trusted Christ four years ago, have since been reeling under extreme harassment and physical abuse by the radical Hindus. However, they stand strong in spite of losing needed provisions. Additionally, the local pastor was denied entry to conduct worship and was taken by the police for interrogation on false conversion charges. He said, “The harassment continues to increase against Christians in Bara Chomri village. However, we Christians did not worry. We don't need incentives. [We're] ready to pay any cost and lay down our lives.” Police released the pastor with the warning not to enter the village again. In John 15:20, Jesus said, “A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also.” World Health and UNICEF are tricking and sterilizing young Kenyan women Google-owned YouTube has once again censored LifeSiteNews, this time for their reporting on a World Health Organization tetanus vaccine used to sterilize young women of childbearing age in Kenya, Africa. The Big Tech video-sharing platform has deleted an interview conducted by editor-in-chief John-Henry Westen with Dr. Wahome Ngare, a Kenyan obstetrician and gynecologist. In the interview, Dr. Ngare speaks out about how the World Health Organization's tetanus vaccine campaign, carried out in conjunction with the Kenyan government, was actually intended as a population control effort. LifeSiteNews has appealed the removal of the video and YouTube's strike against The John-Henry Westen Channel, which bans him from posting new content for 7 days. The strike does not expire until May 18; two more strikes would mean a permanent ban from YouTube. The key piece of evidence was the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin or HCG in several of the vaccine vials. HCG is a hormone integral to alerting a woman she is pregnant. Dr. Ngare explained to John-Henry Westen that the tetanus vaccine, laced with HCG, would produce both anti-tetanus and anti-HCG antibodies. Biden heads to Europe to shore up support for Ukraine President Joe Biden heads to Europe this week in a trip meant to be a show of defiance, reports Politico.com. He will mark a second year of war by denouncing Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine and publicly declare that the United States will support Kyiv until the final moments of the conflict. Biden leaves today for Poland to meet with President Andrzej Duda and other key NATO leaders. President Jimmy Carter in hospice care Former President Jimmy Carter has entered hospice care in his Georgia home, reports FoxNews.com. On Saturday, The Carter Center said, “After a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.” Actor Tom Sizemore had a brain aneurysm Saving Private Ryan star Tom Sizemore is in critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital after he suffered a brain aneurysm at his home, reports The Gazette-Times. His manager, Charles Lago, said Sizemore was at his South Main Street apartment at around 2:00am on Saturday when he suffered a brain aneurysm and became unconscious. Someone found the 61-year-old actor and quickly called 911. EMS crews then transported Sizemore to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. He has had a history of drug abuse including meth and run-ins with the law including domestic violence against a former spouse. Politically-correct publisher changing Roald Dahl's children's books Roald Dahl, the British novelist who died in 1990 at the age of 74, would not be pleased with how Puffin publishing is deleting hundreds of words from and adding whole paragraphs to his original manuscripts -- all in the interest of political correctness, reports The Guardian. Puffin has hired “sensitivity readers” to rewrite chunks of the author's text to make sure the books “can continue to be enjoyed by all today,” resulting in extensive changes across Dahl's work including his bestselling children's books Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and James and The Giant Peach. For example, Augustus Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now described as “enormous” instead of “fat.” In The Twits, Mrs. Twit is no longer “ugly and beastly,” but just “beastly.” And the Oompa-Loompas, the little people who worked to make the candy in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, are now gender-neutral. OOMPA-LOOMPAS: “Oompa loompa doompa-de-doo, I've a perfect puzzle for you. Oompa loompa doompa-de-dee, If you are wise, you will listen to me.” 23-year-old woman rows solo 3,000 miles across Atlantic And finally, a 23-year-old woman just set the Talisker Challenge record for the fastest solo row across the 3,000-mile-wide Atlantic Ocean, reports Good News Network. Departing on December 10th from the Canary Islands, located 62 miles West of Morocco, Africa, Mariam Payne rowed 59 days, 16 hours, and 36 minutes, before arriving in Antigua, an island east of the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Sea, last Friday. She raised $14,200 for the east Yorkshire charity Wellbeing of Women and Mind. The journey is described as the toughest endurance event on Earth. No support is allowed—all food, water, and other necessities must be brought along. The organizers of the challenge said, “Sleep deprivation, hallucinations, hunger and the ultimate test of body and mind will be balanced by sighting incredible marine life, witnessing the breaking of a new day, and sunsets that cannot be viewed by land.” Payne rowed 15 hours per day, alone, in the vast Atlantic Ocean during 86°F days with strong winds. Before she left, she described her fears. PAYNE: “The sleep deprivation, seasickness, and dealing with the big waves. But I think a lot of it's going to be the boredom of it, especially being on my own.” It would have been a great time to talk to God in prayer, asking for His protection and thanking Him for his beautiful creation. Psalm 16:1 says, "Keep me safe, my God, for in You I take refuge.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, February 20th, in the year of our Lord 2023. (00:00-09:24): Hillsong pastor Brian Houston has resigned after revelations of indiscretions with women. Brian and Aubrey discussed whether or not an influential organization can continue when its leadership goes through a scandal like that. (09:24-18:19): Over the past six months, nearly all churches have reopened for services and more have dropped mask requirements, social distancing, and other COVID-19 precautions. But the latest figures from Pew Research Center show that once-regular churchgoers aren't much more likely to show up than they were back in September. Brian and Aubrey talked about what those numbers mean and what churches can do. (18:19-27:33): Should you as a parent allow your child to question their faith? Brain and Aubrey put on their parenting hats to tackle that issue. (27:33-35:23): What do most people regret before they die? Brian and Aubrey talked about a video posted by a hospice nurse. (35:23-44:08): The Barna Group, a research firm that focuses on religion, found last year that 2 in 5 Christian pastors had considered quitting full-time ministry in the past year. Brian and Aubrey shared their reaction. (44:08-53:41): Brian and Aubrey wrapped up the show by sharing some positive stories from the Good News Network. God created angels to serve him in several ways. We might not know all the ways that angels work to serve the Lord, but Scripture tells us some things. Angels work to help bring about God's work and plans. Angels both announce good news and pronounce and perform acts of judgment. Today, we will consider some instances where angles brought good news! Happy New Year, Awesome People! Welcome to 2022! The turning of the year provides the opportunity to stop, see where we are, remember the lessons of where we've come from, and determine our intentions and goals for the future. In the first AWESome EarthKind episode over a year ago, we interviewed Denis Hayes, the original organizer of Earth Day who then led the movement that made Earth Day the most widely celebrated secular holiday in the world, involving over 1 Billion human beings. In that interview, Denis spoke about how there is Always Hope. He recounts several turning points in history where the future was dark and bleak – and yet, despite the odds, people held onto hope and snatched victory out of the jaws of impending defeat. While today there is much to be rightly concerned about – there are also brilliant starbursts of light that ignite hope and show us a path forward. Here are some excerpts from the Good News Network (https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/) and various other sources: Despite a few national governments continuing to keep their coal and oil projects afloat, market demand and private entrepreneurship is driving what can only be described as a revolution in renewable energy. These latest achievements were basically unbelievable when global climate change was first being discussed as a serious threat. But today, each successive development of renewable energy generation, clean heating & cooling, and electric cars, makes new achievements cheaper and easier to scale. Solar for the Developing World A half-million people living in 3 of the Northern Congo cities are going to be supplied with reliable renewable energy by a trio of United Kingdom, French, and Spanish solar power companies. Citizens from that region suffer from the lowest rates of reliable electricity in the world. The solar power plants with battery storage will now resolve this problem. In West Africa, 2 Senegalese cities will find 60MW of solar power available to them in the coming months as a variety of institutions offer government financing for sustainable energy. Senegal is a heavy net energy-importer, placing enormous financial burdens on people for the importatino of coal and oil. In Nigeria, one of Africa's largest economies, the Solar Power Naija program will equip 500,000 homes with solar panels, generating electricity for 25 million Nigerians. Solar on Demand – the least expensive energy source on the planet The United States National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) reports that solar and storage costs have fallen dramatically over the past decade. The price of residential solar was reported down from $7.53/W in 2010 to $2.65/W in 2021,; utility-scale solar was $5.66/W a decade ago to $0.89/W today. That was driven in large part by higher module efficiency and lower module cost. The combination of low-cost solar farms and lithium-ion batteries has produced a dynamic new hybrid resource capable of providing energy from the sun after dark and reshaping America's power mix in the 2020s. The spread of these hybrid facilities has been fueled largely by plummeting solar-plus-storage prices, which have begun undercutting conventional fossil-fueled generation. Levelized solar energy prices - Adjusted for inflation over the estimated 30-year lives of the projects - are in the 2 to 3 cents per kwh range, according to a recent report from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Just a few years ago, solar-plus-storage prices were more than triple today's going rates. Today, solar and battery storage provide the lowest cost energy on the planet. Last year, 3/4s of all new electric generation capacity in the world was built with solar. The windiest on record 2021 was the single best year on record for wind turbine manufacturers with 93 new gigawatts (BILLION watts) being added—a 53% increase since 2020. The 2021 Global Wind Report summary states: “Through technology innovations and economies of scale, the global wind power market has nearly quadrupled in size over the past decade and established itself as one of the most cost-competitive and resilient power sources across the world.” “Today, there is now 743 GW of wind power capacity worldwide, helping to avoid over 1.1 billion tons of CO2 globally—equivalent to the annual carbon emissions of South America.” HOT ELECTRIC CARS Data assembled back in March from Germany's largest automotive industry review produced a startling statistic - 1 in 5 cars made in Germany can be plugged in. The Schmidt Automotive Research Center found that 74,000 of the 374,000 cars that left German assembly lines were either electric or hybrid electric vehicles. On the demand side, things are just as rosy. Germany is the fourth largest auto market in the world, and electric car registrations grew from a 4% national market share in December 2019, to a whopping 26% market share just 12 months later. This is just in the background of a global surge in EV purchasing that climbed 40% during 2020, when most markets were suffering from COVID-related issues. Bloomberg New Energy Fund “expects that EVs will make up 20-30% of sales in the United States, European Union and China by 2025, based on "proposed and confirmed rules" in those markets. President Joe Biden has set a goal for half of new passenger vehicle sales in the United States to be electric vehicles by 2030. And New York and others have banned the sale of gas cars by 2035. 2021 is estimated to be "yet another record year for EV sales globally," with 5.6 million sold. That is 83% higher than 2020 and a 168% increase over 2019 sales. And global momentum towards zero-emissions vehicles (ZEV) has "accelerated significantly," Bloomberg said. EVs will "capture a higher share of passenger vehicle sales, sooner than previously expected." The green new pension Since its green shoots 50 years ago, acceptance of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) considerations in institutional investing – especially at pension funds – has evolved with distinct shifts in investor preferences. As the holders of the largest state-controlled pension fund on Earth, the South Korean monetary authorities released a statement in May that the $771 billion National Pension Fund will cease all investments related to coal power both at home and abroad. The fund also announced that they would revamp guidelines for investment strategies to ensure a more sustainable pattern emerges in the future. Worldwide, ESG (Environmental Social & Governance) assets surpassed $35 trillion in 2020 - up from $30.6 trillion in 2018 and $22.8 trillion in 2016 reaching a third of current total global assets under management, according to the Global Sustainable Investment Association. ExxonMobil – long known for its anti-climate change positions - used to have bragging rights as the world's most valuable public company with $500 Billion of market valuation. Now, America's largest oil company is in steady decline. It's been kicked out of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and has less than half of its peak market value. Adios, coal: Spain hits 50% renewable milestone Back in mid-May, the Spanish legislature announced it would be phasing out all oil, coal, and gas production by 2042, and that all carbon-emitting vehicle sales would be banned by 2040. In the short term, the Spanish lawmakers want 74% of the national energy consumption to be entirely renewable by the end of the decade. They are quite close to that goal already, as the month of May saw 50% of the nation's energy demand fulfilled by green energy. Romania also joined the effort, alerting the EU that through its National Recovery and Resilience Plan the country would cease all coal production by 2032, at which time it plans to have installed 34% renewable electricity to take over the baton. G7, the world's seven largest developed economies, all agreed to stop coal financing by the end of the year. Now that Japan is also on board, that leaves the African, India, and China as the last remaining holdouts. In the US, 22 states now have carbon-free energy goals: Arizona 100% carbon-free electricity by 2070 Adopted by order of the Arizona Commerce Commission in May 2021, extending and expanding the existing state RPS. Docket number RU-00000A-18-0284. California 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045 2018 legislation (SB 100) extended and expanded the existing state RPS. State agencies are required to submit implementation plans by January 1, 2021. Also in 2018, Gov. Jerry Brown's Executive Order B-55-18 set a goal of statewide carbon neutrality by no later than 2045, with net negative GHG emissions thereafter. Colorado 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 for Xcel Energy A 2019 law (SB 19-236) codified a pledge previously made by Xcel, whose service territory covers approximately 60% of the state's load. It is mandatory “so long as it is technically and economically feasible.” Connecticut 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040 Governor Ned Lamont's 2019 Executive Order (Number 3) set a 2040 goal for carbon-free electricity and asked the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to develop a decarbonization plan for the power sector, in line with previous legislation to cut economy-wide carbon emissions by 80% below 2001 levels by 2050. District of Columbia 100% renewable energy by 2032 through the RPS The Clean Energy DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018 (DC Act 22-583) amended the existing RPS to mandate 100% renewable electricity by the year 2032. Hawaii 100% renewable energy by 2045 through the RPS 2015 legislation (HB623) made Hawaii the first state to set a 100% RPS for the electricity sector. Illinois 100% clean energy by 2050 2021 legislation (SB2408) established a goal of 100% clean energy by 2050, with interim targets of 40% by 2030 and 50% by 2040. Louisiana Net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 Governor John Bel Edwards' 2020 Executive Order (JBE 2020-18) established a Climate Initiatives Task Force to develop a roadmap and make recommendations. Maine 100% clean energy by 2050 2019 legislation (LD 1494) increased Maine's RPS to 80% by 2030, and set a goal of 100% by 2050. Also LD1679 sets an economy-wide goal of 80% cuts to greenhouse gases by 2050. Massachusetts Net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 In 2020, the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs set a 2050 net-zero GHG emissions goal under the authority of 2008 legislation. The same goal was then included in a March 2021 climate action law (Bill S.9). A decarbonization roadmap was released at the end of 2020. Michigan Economy-wide carbon neutrality by 2050 Governor Gretchen Whitmer's order in 2020 (Executive Directive 2020-10) set a goal “to achieve economy-wide carbon neutrality no later than 2050.” It directed the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy to develop a plan by the end of 2021. Nebraska Net-zero carbon emissions from generation resources by 2050 for Nebraska Public Power District and Omaha Public Power District; 2040 for Lincoln Electric System Nebraska is the only state served solely by publicly owned utilities. As of December 2021, the three public utilities that serve the vast majority of customers have all adopted 100% clean energy goals. Nevada 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 2019 legislation (SB 358) raised the RPS to 50% by 2030, and set a goal of a net-zero emission power sector by 2050. New Jersey 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 Governor Phil Murphy's Executive Order 28 in 2018 set a carbon free goal for the power sector and directed the BPU to develop an Energy Master Plan, which was released in 2020. New Mexico 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045 2019 legislation (SB 489) requires a zero-carbon power supply by 2050, with at least 80% from renewables. New York 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040 2019 legislation (S6599) requires zero-emissions electricity by 2040 and sets a goal of cutting all state GHGs 85% by 2050. A Climate Action Council will develop a plan. North Carolina Carbon neutrality in the electricity sector by 2050 2021 legislation (HB 951) requires the North Carolina Utilities Commission to “take all reasonable steps” to achieve a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions from electric generating facilities in the state by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. Oregon Greenhouse gas emissions reduced 100 percent below baseline emissions by 2040 2021 legislation (HB 2021) requires investor-owned utilities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the electricity they sell to 80 percent below baseline emissions levels by 2030, 90 percent below baseline emissions levels by 2035, and 100 percent below baseline emissions levels by 2040. Puerto Rico 100% renewable energy for electricity by 2050 2019 legislation (SB1121), the Public Energy Policy Law of Puerto Rico, set a timeline for reaching 100% renewable electricity by the year 2050. Rhode Island 100% renewable energy electricity by 2030 Governor Gina Raimondo's 2020 Executive Order (20-01) requires the Office of Energy Resources to “conduct economic and energy market analysis and develop viable policy and programmatic pathways” to meet 100% of statewide electricity deliveries with renewables by 2030. Virginia 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045 for Dominion Energy and 2050 for Appalachian Power Company The 2020 Virginia Clean Economy Act (House Bill 1526 and Senate Bill 851) requires zero-carbon utilities by 2050 at the latest. Washington 100% zero-emissions electricity by 2045 2019's Clean Energy Transformation Act (SB5116) applies to all utilities. The state Commerce Department started a rulemaking process in August 2019. Utilities must file implementation plans by January 2022. Wisconsin 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 Governor Tony Evers' Executive Order (EO38) in 2019 directed a new Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy to “achieve a goal” of all carbon-free power by 2050. Natural Gas Moratoriums & Heat Pumps Dozens of cities, including San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose in California; Cambridge, Mass.; and Seattle, Oregon have moved to ban natural gas hook ups in new buildings as a way to combat climate change. In Westchester NY, there has been a moratorium on new natural gas hookups since 2018. And on December 15th, 2021 - New York City banned natural gas hookups for new buildings starting in 2027. Previously, Geothermal or ground source heat pumps were growing at a rate of 7% per year. Since geothermal is the most efficient form of heating and cooling – with 500% efficiencies from using the stored heat in the ground beneath our feet – it is expected that the growth in both air and ground source heat pumps will soon reach double digits. Green oil All is not business-as-usual in the boardrooms of some of the world's largest petroleum producers. In a landmark court decision, a judge in the Netherlands ordered Royal Dutch Shell to cut emissions by 45% after 17,000 people brought a lawsuit that Shell's large greenhouse gas footprint merits a significant investment in CO2-slashing as a debt to society. Elsewhere in Europe, the Italian oil company Eni became the first European oil company to launch a corporate bond that is linked to sustainability. The €1 billion 7-year bond is linked to two key performance indicators: “Increasing renewable installed capacity to 5GW by the end of 2025; and cutting the net carbon footprint of its upstream business by 50% by 2024,” Lastly, Engine No.1, a shareholder group of ExxonMobil, managed to get two of their candidates elected to the American company's board on the argument that the company's long-term business strategy didn't take into account all of the value loss potential from climate change, both from shareholders jumping ship, and potential damages from extreme weather events. BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with $8.6 trillion in private capital, ensured the Engine No.1 candidates got the positions by utilizing their vote as large shareholders. 100% Clean Energy On April 29th, 2021 over 29 million people in California got 95% of their power from renewable energy— and were contributing virtually nothing towards climate change as far as their electricity needs were concerned. California follows another major population center, South Australia, which recently fulfilled 100% demand with renewables. “It sends chills down my spine. It's amazing,” said Elliot Mainzer, president and CEO of the California Independent System Operator, which runs the state's main power grid. “These types of transitions aren't always pretty. But we're getting a lot of renewable generation online, making a real dent in the state's carbon emissions,” Mainzer recently urged the state to construct another 10,000 megawatts of renewables, an equivalent of one-eighth of the entire state baseload power, in order to cover the gaps in the grid. Covering gaps in renewables is important for two reasons. The first is that electricity is the only resource that must be consumed as soon as it's produced. That means projections of demand must always be just about perfect. The second reason is that renewables most often have no form of storage, and the electricity they generate goes into the grid immediately upon production. To help navigate around these natural flaws in renewable energy, California has been a key leader in coordinating with other states in the west to share surplus power across state lines, creating a more robust grid, removing more need for fossil fuels, and taking advantage of other states' resources. For example, California is much sunnier than Wyoming, but Wyoming has the most consistent wind power of any state. Utility companies in each place can exchange their baseload power with the strengths of the other and reduce fossil fuel input and increase grid stability. This is the best method for protecting against blackouts and drops in supply due to changing weather until cost-effective and scalable storage technology become widely implemented. A Clean Economy = Healthier Communities Scientists at UC Berkeley are hailing the state's diesel engine standards for drastically dropping the amount of diesel particulate matter in the air, and reducing the cardiopulmonary deaths attributable to poor air quality. If you never saw the pictures of the city of Los Angeles before the Clean Air Act, they look like something out of the movie Escape from L.A. But encouraging shifts away from high-sulfur fuels, and replacing diesel ships with electric ones, has gradually scaled the horror show back. “Our analysis of mobile source DPM (diesel particulate matter) emissions suggests that many California sector-based policies have been highly effective,” write the authors of the paper published in Science. They found that from 1990 to 2014, the amount of DPM in the California skies fell by 78%, while cardiopulmonary and cancer deaths linked to diesel pollution dropped by 82%. These are just some of the many positive actions that have been happening around the country and globe. Obviously, there still much to be concerned about. As I record this podcast, I have one son in Boulder Colorado whose former home community was destroyed by the recent wildfires. Only 1 mile away from his current home, 100 mph winds created a blast furnace of destruction for thousands of homes. Thankfully, the massive snowfall has now contained that catastrophe. But my other son and his family were pummeled by 11 feet of snow on the way to their holiday vacation in Lake Tahoe. Don't Look Up If you haven't seen the new comedy film “Don't Look Up” – it's worth watching. While the insanity of ignoring science is pretty funny – the reality is that we can't allow ourselves to continue to be distracted by day-to-day petty politics and our ridiculous obsession with social media. We all need to join together, find a way to overcome our differences, and remember that our children's future is the one overriding priority that we all share. Creating a sustainable planet is a huge task. But as the recently deceased Desmond Tutu once wisely said: “there is only one way to eat an elephant: one bite at a time.” Figure out how to take your bite – and let's all keep moving forward, one small bite at a time… ---- Has your workplace conducted a Greenhouse Gas Inventory?
