Gareth's 3 mindset messages: Be Kind Embrace your passions And Smile! Food When a guest says 'Wow - anything!' in response to what they'd like to eat, it's both exhilarating and slightly nerve-wracking. On one hand, I have complete creative freedom to craft something truly special. On the other, the responsibility rests entirely on my shoulders to ensure they enjoy a genuinely delicious meal. I do not create my own recipes, I usually use what's out there and sometimes add a touch of my ingredients if I feel the dish needs it. I decided to make two dishes from Ottolenghi: Butter beans with roasted cherry tomatoes & Chicken Shawarma sandwiches. Gareth loved both of my dishes, especially the starter! The effort and researching for the perfect dish has truly paid off :) If you would like to reach out to Gareth, or get the recipes, please visit www.mindsetkitchen.co.uk

Sara Cox is a broadcaster and author. You might have grown up with her on Radio 1's iconic Breakfast Show. You might remember her being one of the first so-called ‘ladettes' (and if you do, we talk about how much she hates this word in the episode). You might have read one of her bestselling books - she wrote a memoir in 2019, followed by two novels, the most recent of which, Way Back, was published in March. She's now the host of the most listened to radio show in Europe: BBC Radio 2's tea time, as well as being on our screens at the helm of the hugely successful TV books show, Between the Covers. But her upbringing was far removed from media luvviedom: she comes from a Lancashire farming family and spent her childhood shuttling between her divorced parents - her father's farm and her mother's pub. We talk about how these early experiences affected her and what she learned from her parents' break-up. We also discuss her failure to farm, her failure to believe she's ACTUALLY an author and an early career failure to control Sacha Baron Cohen when he was a live guest on Radio 1 (and the media's misogynistic treatment of Cox in the aftermath). As always, I'm desperate to hear about your failures. Every week, my guest and I choose a selection to read out and answer on our special subscription offering, Failing with Friends. We'll endeavour to give you advice, wisdom, some laughs and much, much more. Have something to share of your own? I'd love to hear from you! Nick and Angela welcome a TV and radio broadcaster to DISH HQ. Sara Cox is a proud northern lass from Bolton and began her career as a model in her teens. With the chops for more, Sara auditioned for The Girlie Show on Channel 4 and didn't take no for an answer. From there, work on the wireless beckoned and she became the host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in the year 2000. Among other shows, Sara presented The Great Pottery Throw Down, which inspired her to write her debut novel Thrown. Sara presents Drivetime on Radio 2 and the new series of her book show, Between the Covers, starts on 6 November on BBC Two. Angela prepares Sara a dish by her friend Ravinder Bhogal - mackerel with a watermelon rojack - and the experts at Waitrose pair the meal with a Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé. Our threesome chat about the glory of a northern palate, Sara's passion for horseriding and why Nick simply cannot be a guest on her book show. Just so you know, our podcast might contain the occasional mild swear word or adult theme. All recipes from this podcast can be found at waitrose.com/dishrecipes A transcript for this episode can be found at waitrose.com/dish We can't all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help. Send your dilemmas to dish@waitrose.co.uk and she'll try to answer in a future episode. Dish is a S:E Creative Studio production for Waitrose & Partners. Learn more about your ad choices. I'm recording this episode after two days at The Podcast Show in London. In the evening, we were lucky enough to get tickets to see Fearne Cotton's live show of her podcast Happy Place. She was interviewing Sara Cox, who I've grown up listening to. It was more than interesting to watch these very accomplished women have a very frank and open conversation about their own vulnerability. Today I want to share with you the lightbulb moments that have happened for me as a result of watching and experiencing this intimate live show. I'm inviting you to tune in and think about this as well. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why a mismatch between public perception of who you are and what you stand for can be uncomfortable, but will make you more visible - Why letting people see who you are might be a more effective and a more heartfelt way to make a difference for the listeners - How to line up your true self and your brand - How honest are you in your desire to be available and seen by your potential clients? Wherever you're at right now, know that it's okay. We're perfect just the way we are. And the word perfect is even unnecessary.
