We discuss with Nate various Narcan/Naloxone facts on how and when it is effective on opioid overdoses and what you need to know about administering to an individual who is overdosing. We also discuss why it is easier to continue to be an addict and score dope over being able to actually receive treatment. We discuss various harm reduction modalities, including the possible positives and negatives of selling Narcan to the public. We also share perspectives on long term harm reduction and such substances used in the process as Methadone and Suboxone. We talk the long term side effects and more. The organization has a grant from the Department of Health Care Services that supplies Smiddy with the Narcan he distributes Before Smiddy was an advocate for harm reduction, he struggled with his own drug use. “I overdosed for the first time when I was 19 in front of most of my family, and they didn't really know what to do,” he said. Nate, now 30 years old, and coming up on 5 years of sobriety started the Narcan distribution three years ago after reflecting on his own experience and seeing the need for it. Marijuana. Mary Jane. Weed. Pot. Cannabis comes in many different names and many different forms. Today, it has become more and more popular. States are legalizing it for medical and recreational use, and it may be federally decriminalized soon. Growers, dispensaries, certain health care professionals, and your run of the mill pot-head claim that it can solve and fix many medical issues…. But does it? Our host, Noah Zimmerman, has been a daily user for the past 5 years, and reviews studies and anecdotal evidence to figure out if cannabis really is the “magical medicine” some claim it to be. And listen to find out why he has decided to stop being a daily user! Works cited: Desmarais, A., Smiddy, S., Reddy, S., El-Dallal, M., Erlich, J., & Feuerstein, J. D. (2020). Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for full video! Tonight on the show I have ex Rangers FC, Peterhead, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Raith Rovers goalkeeper and current Head of Academy Goalkeeping at Rangers. An interesting career that spanned nearly 2 decades. A Scottish cup winner and UEFA Cup runner up with Rangers, a lifelong dream to play with the team he loved growing up but frustratingly up against Greegsy for 2 seasons. He flourished after a couple of injury beaten seasons with St Johnstone and St Mirren he signed for the Blue Toon, Peterhead, winning league 2 and making it into league 2 team of the season the same year. He now has the pleasure of working for his boyhood Rangers and I assume wakes up with a smile on his face every morning he travels to the Rangers Training Centre. Is it our year? Can we stop 10 in a row? Smiddy thinks so and really so do I! Please follow us on all social media platforms: Twitter Instagram Facebook iTunes Spotify

Had an awesome chat with one of the up and coming superstars in Age Group Triathlon racing in Australia Tim Ballintine. This guy is a machine. His results in such a short time in the sport are not only a reflection of his obvious talent in the three disciplines but much more importantly show his total commitment to his training and the process of creating success. I really enjoyed it. Could've gone for another hour I think but we had to wrap it up somewhere. Tim embodies the spirit of the sport. He sets goals and knocks them over and I thought it was great he relates what he does in triathlon back to everyday life and achieving through adversity. Tim's motto: Don't take yourself seriously, take what you do seriously. He's off to Ironman Vichy on August 30 and is raising some much needed funds for an amazing cause close to his heart, Smiling for Smiddy. Check them out here. http://www.smiddy.org.au To support Tim and make a pledge to his particular cause follow this link. http://www.timballintine.com/smiling-for-smiddy-campaign.html In the intro I spoke about Andy Reids event at Bondi Beach on the 21st of November, The Splash and Dash.
