JP Morrison Lans decided to grow up to be an artist while visiting the Carole Laroche Gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico when she was eleven years old. Five years later the Tulsa Artist Coalition supported this dream for her when she was accepted for her first solo exhibition. Since then she has earned her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute, co-owner a gallery, had her work purchased for the permanent collection of the Bundaberg Regional Gallery in Queensland Australia where she lived for two years and created immersive art installations for AHHA Tulsa, the Living Arts New Genre Festival, and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition.  Morrison Lans has shows her work with M.A. Doran Gallery, Tulsa; Heron Arts, San Francisco; Keep Contemporary, Santa Fe; and 19 Karen, Gold Coast, Australia. She has been a resident artist at SVA, NY., Truro Art Center, MA., Rockland Woods, WA., the Vermont Studio Center and Quarantine in Menorca, Spain. Morrison Lans is a member of the international artist collective Teleportal.Gallery and is an inaugural member of the NYC Crit Club's Canopy Program. She and her child can typically be found experimenting with encaustic and lego, respectively, from their home studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Statement:I explore the relationship of body and psyche by combining figurative realism, symbolic objects and intuitive abstraction. These collected elements are metaphors for my experience of womanhood, motherhood, love, loss, self-preservation, panic, desire, and knowing. Through layers of color pencil I create translucent skin. The addition of gouache and encaustic allows me to comb sheens and dimensional shapes around my drawing, forming membranes and isolated objects which express the subject's emotional escapades. Often I use orientation dissonance –the inversion of the figure– to symbolize circumspection, surrender, gestation, and metamorphosis. I render hands frequently, they represent intention and action, also the mouth, tongue and teeth as gateways between the inner self and outer world. Through taste and touch, we experience intimacy and desire. This anatomy creates boundaries while also being an entry point. My work invites you to experience this same push pull of entering and observing from a distance.

Mila Resources Executive Chairman Mark Stephenson joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce that the company has signed a new exploration and option agreement over three promising gold projects in Queensland, Australia. The agreement with EMX Royalty will see Mila pay an upfront fee of A$25,000 and issue warrants, along with a commitment to conduct A$450,000 in exploration work within the first year. This new portfolio, which includes the Yarrol, Mt Steadman, and Mt Weary projects, is expected to bolster Mila's existing gold assets, particularly complementing its primary Kathleen Valley project in Western Australia. According to Stephenson, initial ground exploration efforts will kick off in the coming weeks at Yarrol, the most developed project in the portfolio, with plans to conduct geophysical surveys at both Mt Steadman and Mt Weary in early 2025. While these new projects are an exciting addition, Stephenson emphasized that Kathleen Valley remains the company's priority. The project is focused on both gold and lithium resources, thanks to Mila's joint venture with Liontown Resources. Liontown, which commenced spodumene production at Kathleen Valley in July 2024, is actively engaging local stakeholders as part of further exploration and development plans. This expanded Queensland portfolio reinforces Mila's commitment to accelerating its exploration capabilities across multiple strategic assets in Australia. #proactiveinvestors #milaresourcesplc #lse #mila #mining #MiningExploration #WesternAustralia #MarkStephenson #Liontown #LithiumMining #GoldExploration #ResourceInvestment #MiningNews #ProactiveInvestors#invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

GS#358fMO November 20, 2012 GSfMO#358 Terry "The Wedge Guy" Koehler, CEO of SCOR Golf joins us for 40 minutes to answer more questions submitted to SCOR Zone Short Game Academy. We've received so many great questions about improving our short game that we decided to answer 4 more questions in a full episode.   This was originally a Members Only episode that lived behind our paywall, so this is the first time it's ever been shared publically. Questions:Matthew Etter of Durham, NC: What is the recommended approach for handling "flier" lies around the green? In my area we have a lot of bermuda grasses, and when cut high there can be a lot of space between the ball and the ground. Should you still try to hit down on the ball to impart spin? It seems to me that there's no way you're going to compress the ball when it's sitting up so much, but trying to scoop the ball with an ascending blow doesn't seem like the right approach either. Any alternatives?Matt McElroy of Brentwood, NH: How do we know which scoring club to use from the sand? Are different types of sand a factor?Ron Hampel of Portland, OR I'm fairly new to golf, having taken up the game about 18 months ago. My play from tee to about 120 yards or so is really coming along (around 70-75% driving accuracy). But, what's holding my scoring back is what happens from inside 120 or so yards. My short game distance control is all over the place. Why will adding a wedge or two to my set at that end make my distances any more accurate? In other words, is my lack of consistency due to the skills of someone new to the game or incorrect club gaps?Martin Baker of Peregian Beach, Queensland Australia i still use your old wedges and listened intently to the podcast especially around the grip. I sent a photo of my glove - from the photo you may be able to work out am I holding the club too much in my hand instead of my fingers as you advocate? I was also intrigued by your comments about keeping the grip light on the club - I think this would naturally relax the forearms and therefore give a more relaxed looking swing like the professionals?Follow @golfsmarter on Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube for daily highlights and helpful insights from our interviews on the podcast. I've been reading Mel's book Fully Connected: How Great Leaders Prioritise Themselves, Reclaim Their Energy & Find Joy recently, and asked Mel onto the show as I love her approach to putting the self first, in order to change the way that leaders lead and company cultures “do work”. This will be a great listen if you're a leader or employee stuck in toxic busy-ness, and yearning for a new way of being. About Mel Kettle Mel Kettle is a food loving, book reading, beach goer who lives on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland Australia. She is a trusted mentor to executives and leaders and a highly sought-after speaker and trainer on leadership communication and menopause at work. After surviving the debilitating effects of work-related loneliness, stress and burnout in her late 20s, Mel believes self-leadership is essential for creating real connection and sustained engagement. This belief forms the foundation of her two main programs Connected Leaders and Thriving Leaders. Mel has twice (2022 and 2023) been recognised by leadersHum as one of the Top 200 Biggest Voices in Leadership, one of only seven Australians on the list. She is the author of two books, the best-selling Fully Connected and The Social Association, and host of the podcast This Connected Life. But is this really the case? The LDS church is rallying members to send emails and reach out to elected officials expressing concern. The bill could also impact the LDS church's power to insist that church employees have temple recommends.Neville helps us cut through the misinformation surrounding the proposed bill as we discuss the possible ramifications and realities.***How to DONATE to Mormonish Podcast: If you would like to help financially support our podcast, you can DONATE to support Mormonish Podcast here:Mormonish Podcast is a 501(c) (3) https://donorbox.org/mormonish-podcast ****WE HAVE MERCH! **** If you'd like to purchase Mormonish Merch, you can visit our Merch store here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/mormonishmerch We appreciate our Mormonish viewers and listeners so much! This week, in Goomboorian, Queensland, Australia, a man finds the woman he believes he will spend the rest of his life with. Only problem is that she's already spending her life with several other people. A murderous plot is quickly hatched between a trio of really awful people. This would be bad enough, but did they need to use the industrial sized woodchipper? A twisted tale of messed up relationships, between some equally messed up people!!Along the way, we find out that pumpkin rolling is considered fine Australian theater, that babies smell good, so you don't throw them from a moving car, and that a lady must have something going on, if she can get multiple men to kill for her, and give her money!!Hosted by James Pietragallo and Jimmie WhismanNew episodes every Thursday!Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com and use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.comGo to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports!Follow us on...twitter.com/@murdersmallfacebook.com/smalltownpodinstagram.com/smalltownmurderAlso, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! Roaming the lush rainforests of Northern Queensland and Papua New Guinea, the Cassowary bird is a striking sight to behold. Resembling something like an exquisite dinosaur at 6 feet tall, this at-risk flightless bird is now in a fight for survival. As a keystone species, the Cassowary is facing endangerment due to the fragmentation of its habitat by development and industrial agriculture.  On this episode of SUGi Talks, we speak with SUGi Forest Maker Brett Krause.  Since 2014, with our support, Brett has been planting Miyawaki forests in Tropical North Queensland as a way to create habitats for endangered species like the Cassowary and the Mahogany Glider.  Together we'll speak about how he went from growing up on a sawmill witnessing deforestation, to now leading the way on Miyawaki forest building in Northern Australia.  Make sure you like and subscribe wherever you get podcasts for more SUGi Talks.

Join this week's conversation with Dr Sam Bunzli which explores how health professionals can better understand and support people with osteoarthritis by moving beyond checklists and truly listening to their stories. We'll debunk common misconceptions about osteoarthritis, such as the belief that pain always means joint damage or that imaging is always necessary and provide evidence-based corrections. We'll also discuss the importance of culturally safe care and share resources for improving clinician communication. Finally, we'll look at how empowering communication and providing the right information, skills, and resources can help individuals manage their osteoarthritis effectively.Dr Sam Bunzli is a Senior Research Fellow in Physiotherapy who holds a conjoint position between the School of Health Sciences and Social Work at Griffith University and the Physiotherapy Department at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Queensland Australia. In her program of osteoarthritis research, Dr Bunzli engages the voices of people with lived experience, their carers, and clinicians to advance person-centred communication and inform the design and implementation of interventions that meet their needs and preferences. Crikey – this week we are taking you to the iconic Australia Zoo! As wild as life gets. Come with us as we walk over 10,000 steps and visit as much of the zoo as we can in a day. Firstly though, for all those people out there who think Australia is full of things that can kill you – we visit the Robert's reptile house where we see at least half of the deadliest snakes IN THE WORLD. We take you to see Australia's unique wildlife including wombats, koalas, wallabies, echidnas, kangaroos, emus, and did I mention deadly snakes? Oh and don't forget the giant crocodiles. We make it to the Tiger Temple just in time to see the tiger show, and then past the elephants having a bath and dinner in the lake. Of course we go to Bindy's Island where there are Lemurs swinging through the trees,  boa constrictors in the tree house, and tortoises just munching their way around the island. Next up is Africa, where we learnt some fascinating facts about zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos and my favourite – Meerkats. We tell you as much as we can about the facilities at the zoo as well all the shows and feeding times. We also share the story of Steve Irwin and about the stunning memorial they have to honour him at the zoo. Stay listening to the end to hear how brave we were (and that's a total exaggeration) as we recorded live in different locations around the zoo where wewere stalked by water dragons -which if you can believe it - wander freelyaround the zoo and are as scary as they sound. Oh pademelons are little wallabies by the way. Next we go walking around a 110 acre tropical paradise garden and bird sanctuary.  This area used to be a cattle farm and is now completely transformed to be one of, if not the most beautiful places on the Sunshine Coast. This is the where you can see the best views of the iconic Glass House Mountains (which are actually 13 unusually shaped ancient volcanic vents that dominate the landscape) There are tropical gardens, ponds and lakes, waterfalls, oriental gardens, rotundas dotted everywhere, plus so much more.  It is truly beautiful.  The bird sanctuary was started to house rescue birds and there are four walk-through aviaries where you can have an interactive experience with the birds from all over the world. There is even one parrot that sings opera and Old Macdonald had a farm. Stay listening to the end though, where I literally scream and escape over the fence from the miniature animals in the farm enclosure and then while I have a chat   -  up close and personal with a red-tailed black cockatoo. Advanced warning though– he is very vocal. Well, you can't say we don't take you to some interesting places.  This week's episode is another in our Aussie Summer series here on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia.  We are heading about 20 minutes inland from the beach to one of the most visited places in the area.  It is the picturesque village of Eumundi.  Eumundi is famous in Australia and with international visitors as it has the biggest Artisan market in the country, and it is just a gorgeous little village. The market's slogan is "make it, bake it, sew it grow it" – so there are no cheap overseas products to be found here. We take you down the shady tree-lined terraced avenues filled with every imaginable stall you can think of, including many delicious food vendors. We even do a quick impromptu interview with a nice guy who makes the best pineapple juice I have ever tasted. We also tell you about the very unique annual event that happens in Eumundi – it is the body art festival, which is Australia's premier body art event and is a celebration of the passionate body painting industry. Stay listening to the end when we leave Eumundi and drive 9km to a new lunch and dinner venue that is quickly becoming the hottest place on the Sunshine Coast.  It is called The Doonan, and we were left speechless by the whole place. Today we are taking you for a walk all around Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast as we continue our Australian summer series. We used to live here and we just love it and you will see why when you listen to this episode. The Sunshine Coast is a massive tourist area in Queensland Australia and Mooloolaba is one of the most popular spots for holiday makers – and for good reason.  We tell you all about the water activities available here including whale watching, scuba diving and sunset cruises. It is also home to the Mooloolaba Marina which houses up to 100 boats. We tell you about the newest and most popular dining spot in Mooloolaba and of course our favourite restaurant in the whole of the Sunshine Coast because of the fabulous food but also for another surprising reason. Come with us as we stroll past Underwater World Sea Life Aquarium and I tell you all about my visit here a couple of weeks ago and what you can expect to see.  Next, we take you along the walkway through the dunes to parklands, barbecue areas, playgrounds and then to the “Seafood Precinct”. This is where all the fishing trawlers arrive each day with fresh seafood and you can buy it directly from the fish markets – or eat at one of the many restaurants that serve the local catch. This week on The Joy of Cruising Podcast, I am delighted to welcome Mark and Leanne Weston of Queensland Australia. I wrote about Mark and Leanne's story in my first cruising book, The Joy of Cruising, in a section called “Cruisers Like You and Me...Sort Of.” This section, a reader favorite that has been retained in each book of The Joy of Cruising Trilogy, follows the theme of “ordinary” cruisers with extraordinary stories. Mark and Leanne's cruising is anything but ordinary, but as Mark stresses in The Joy of Cruising, he and Leanne are ordinary cruisers. “Mark tells people that cruising doesn't have to be expensive. Sure, it can be, but he and Leanne typically book much less expensive inside cabins, since they rarely spend much time in their stateroom.” My introduction to the Weston's was simple and kind of amusing. It was the middle of 2018. I embarked on this journey to write a book about cruising—one that focused on cruisers who were passionate and pursued their passion in ways that I thought were worthy of sharing their stories with the cruise community. I was browsing a cruise group on Facebook when a post piqued my interest. “Does anyone else have our addiction—10 cruises done for the first half of this year, 11 more before Christmas...?” Mark asked the cruise group discussion board. His query elicited over 900 responses, the most I had ever seen regarding a single post. Of course, Mark's post captured my attention, and I was just as curious as to what the commenters would say. So, I read several hundred comments —more than half—before my eyes started to glaze over. Most reflected a mix of awe, envy, “go for it” encouragement, and a fair amount of religiosity (there were dozens of variations of “you are blessed”). Of course, this being the Internet there was also a smattering of haters and snark. “Get a life!” “Buy a boat!” There was at least one comment delivered to Mark privately. It was from me, and essentially said, “Tell me more!Support the show

I experienced early childhood adversity, a traumatic adolescence surrounded by negative messaging, social stigmas innuendo and destructive gossip. I married early and had 3 children at a young age. One day when I was mopping the floor around the age of 23 I had the niggling feeling that there must be more to life than this. I was a wife and mother and I loved my family, but I didn't know who I was anymore. I didn't know what my personal goals or dreams were, I just knew I felt I had another purpose that I was yet to discover.

Home. A word that denotes haven, tranquility and family, but it often transforms into a hell for many. Houses are fascinating, take the cement structure of a home that hides away tales and tragedies, musings and maladies, all while standing upright and resolute. From the outside, a house can cast a certain image and connotations. A tin-roofed hut in a slum for example connotes suffering, ailment, a sick child being nursed by an even sicker mother, wreaking sewage. On the other hand, a grand mansion symbolizes prosperity, wealth, grand dinners and children running around the fireplace and a solemn happiness. But that's not what makes houses fascinating, it is the juxtaposition they offer that does. That slum could very well have a kid studying endlessly under a light bulb while her mother smiles away as she cooks a simple stew. Happiness can easily be found regardless of the exterior. Vis a vis the grand mansion that exudes stature and class can hide behind its walls dark secrets. One such mansion stood on 20 Grass Tree Close, Bridgeman Downs, Queensland Australia. This is the story of its inhabitants and their dark secrets. This is the story of the Singh and Sica family.  Sources: Australian man convicted for killing 3 Indian-origin siblings Massimo Sica - Wikipedia Singh spa bath murders: Three Brisbane siblings brutally killed by Max Sica | news.com.au — Australia's leading news site Triple-murderer Max Sica accuses Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman of blocking his path to exoneration - ABC News 69.
