Episode Description: In this episode of Blue Sky Consulting, Cat continues her insightful conversation with Trevor Blake, a visionary serial entrepreneur and New York Times best-selling author. Trevor shares the innovative strategies behind his success, particularly his unique "hub model" for building companies without traditional employees. Tune in to discover how Trevor has managed to create and sell multiple companies with a combined value nearing a billion dollars, all while maintaining a balanced and fulfilling personal life. Key Takeaways: Introduction to Trevor Blake: Trevor Blake is a successful entrepreneur who has founded and sold three companies since 2003, with a combined value close to a billion dollars. He is known for his unique business model that does not involve traditional employees. The Hub Model: Trevor's "hub model" involves outsourcing all company functions to professional vendors rather than hiring full-time employees. This approach stemmed from necessity, as Trevor didn't have the funds to hire employees when he started his first company. Benefits of the Hub Model: Allows flexibility and cost savings, especially in the early stages of a company. Vendors work on a fee-for-service basis, motivated by profit-sharing arrangements and a sense of ownership in the company's success. Eliminates the need for extensive supervision and internal meetings, enabling a focus on core business goals. Real-World Application: Trevor provides examples from his own experience, including a story about successfully running a company while being out of the country for three weeks. Highlights the balance this model offers, allowing Trevor to spend significant time on personal activities while his businesses continue to thrive. Maintaining Relationships and Trust: Trevor emphasizes the importance of trust and peer-to-peer relationships with vendors. He shares the success of long-term partnerships, such as his finance team in Texas, whom he has never met in person but maintains a strong working relationship with. Challenges and Solutions: Addresses concerns about vendor reliability and turnover, noting that the hub model's structure and profit-sharing incentives foster loyalty and long-term collaboration. Discusses the ease of replacing vendors compared to employees, as contracts are more flexible. Work-Life Balance: Trevor contrasts his approach with more traditional, high-stress entrepreneurial paths, advocating for a lifestyle that combines business success with personal fulfillment. Shares his daily routine, which includes spending several hours walking and enjoying nature. Listener Questions: Kat and Trevor discuss the sustainability of the hub model and its application across various business functions. Trevor addresses potential pitfalls and how he mitigates them, providing insights into maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring consistent performance. Personal Vendor Experience Trevor shares a personal story about a long-term vendor relationship. Despite a strong personal bond, Trevor had to part ways with the vendor due to professional reasons, highlighting the different dynamics in vendor relationships. Employee Relationships and Company Dynamics Trevor explains the difficulty of ending employee relationships and contrasts it with the maturity and flexibility of vendor relationships. He discusses his approach to business growth and his preference for exiting companies once they've reached a certain level. Trevor's Personal Development Programs Trevor introduces his transformational personal development programs, emphasizing the need for self-transformation to achieve life goals. He talks about the "transformation experience" which helps individuals rediscover their potential and power. Transformation Experience Details The transformation experience is described as a journey back to one's true self, using principles of quantum physics. Trevor shares the success and impact of his programs, with thousands of people experiencing positive change. Start, Survive, Thrive Course Trevor introduces his course based on his book "Secrets to a Successful Start-Up," which provides a step-by-step guide to creating and sustaining a successful business. The course is aimed at helping individuals survive long enough in business to eventually hit a home run. Target Audience for Courses Trevor discusses the demographics of his course participants, including those looking for self-confidence and those who sacrificed their dreams for their families. He emphasizes the program's ability to help individuals adapt to new technological landscapes and regain confidence. Transforming Artists Trevor explains how his courses also support artists in finding sustainable income models, such as licensing and NFTs. He talks about the challenges artists face and how his programs provide practical solutions for success. Trevor's Screenwriting Journey Trevor shares his journey as a screenwriter, from his early days writing plays to winning awards for his screenplays. He discusses the transition from selling his screenplays to creating his own media company to produce films. Final Thoughts and Takeaways Trevor emphasizes the importance of having fun and making a positive difference in people's lives. He encourages listeners to embrace their creativity and pursue their passions with confidence. Key Takeaways: The complexities of managing employees versus vendors and the benefits of the hub model. The necessity of personal transformation for achieving professional success. The value of storytelling in business and personal development. Practical advice for artists and entrepreneurs on building sustainable income streams. Connect with Trevor G. Blake: Additional Resources: Books by Trevor G. Conclusion: The episode wraps up with Trevor's vision of a balanced, successful life, achieved through innovative business practices and a commitment to personal well-being. Encourages listeners to consider the hub model for their ventures, highlighting its potential for creating a profitable and balanced business. Trevor discusses the challenges of employee management, including tribunals and extra training. He compares this with the simplicity of ending vendor contracts and finding new vendors as needed. 10 years ago:  I stumbled across the book “Three Simple Steps” by Trevor G. Blake and read the following line inside:   “This book is the real deal. I have all the money I need, and all profits I receive from this book will go directly to cancer treatment research and development.”   Upon reading that, I instantly thought: “Wow, this is different.” Whereas the majority of self help authors made their money by selling books, here was a real entrepreneur who built and sold three companies for over $300,000,000 and now was sharing what worked for him with pure authenticity.  As you can imagine, this was a huge breath of fresh air because prior to this I had read dozens of self help books with little-to-no results.  So naturally I decided to go “ALL IN” on the teachings starting with TSS and supercharging it years later through the Transformation Experience (a course by Trevor that I've gone through countless times).  And that one decision completely transformed every single area of my life (from business to finances to spirituality to relationships to lifestyle).  Instead of life being a struggle, it became a joyful trip. One where I could use simple tools and techniques to “play with energy” in different ways to create different results. With that noted, I've done exactly that throughout the last decade and credit Trevor for all the business and life success I've unlocked.  As a result: You can imagine how STOKED I was to have this conversation with Trevor and now couldn't be happier to share it with you (such an epic full circle moment for me!).  Inside this conversation, we start with an energy cleanse (something you'll definitely want to add to your daily routine) and discuss:  Authenticity in self help  Importance of connecting with nature  Replacing the law of attraction with the laws of energy Working two hours a day Power of the daily nap  Commitment to change ritual Why death is not the "end" but a transition  The role diet plays in Mentality Control The art of doing nothing  Building a physic bridge  Trevor's vision for the next 30 years And so much more, including why Winnie-The-Pooh is one of Trevor's all time favorite cartoon characters! Give it a listen and see how it moves you.  After you're done, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Three Simple Steps and undergoing the Transformation Experience for yourself. To say it's the greatest course I've ever taken is a complete understatement.  (I'm currently undergoing it once again and just finished my most recent Commitment To Change Ritual & have already started experiencing radical breakthroughs and magical “coincidences”.) Below is the link and promo code to get $500 off (I get nothing in return for sharing this besides the satisfaction that comes with getting this into the hands of as many entrepreneurs/wizards as possible!): https://www.trevorgblake.com/begin Promo Code (Case Sensitive): TEJDosa Cheers and happy listening! Your friend,  /tej  P.S. Another reason I wanted to have this conversation in particular is because as entrepreneurs we get sold a lot on the role of “hustle” and being “constantly on”, but Trevor's work (backed by Science) sheds light on why this may not be the most beneficial path. And what you can do INSTEAD to not only generate amazing business results, but an overall life you're delighted to live.  This IMO makes entrepreneurship infinitely more fun and rewarding.  So check it out and test it out for yourself. This way of life has completely transformed my results and I'm confident it'll do the same for you because “all is just a play of energy!” P.S.S. Who knew scaling companies and planning profitable exits could be accomplished with the laws of physics? Entrepreneur, screenwriter, and physicist Trevor Blake breaks down the wisdom from his book, “Three Simple Steps: A Map to Success in Business and Life” and unravels how the energy around us can be engineered to lead us to our entrepreneurial goals. The more you force things, the more you repel them. Slow down and discover the benefits of boredom for idea generation. Tune in to this new episode of The Conscious Marketer podcast — Playing with Energy for Business Success with Trevor Blake. Key points covered in this episode: 00:00:00 Introduction 00:06:25 The world is made of energy. And we are all spiritually connected. You have control over how you react to outcomes and circumstances. It's up to you how you maximize what you have to create something worthwhile. 00:15:13 Working more won't get you more! The most successful people spare time for doing nothing. This is when their best ideas surface! Trevor Blake also reveals how he developed the Hub Model for startups. 00:21:35 Channel the feminine power of intuition. Being surrounded by deeply intuitive women, Trevor honed this inner ability in order to have access to a universal source of knowledge. 00:27:02 Incorporate the “success with balance” principle. You don't need a five-hour workday right away. Build a healthy practice to replace the unproductive ones. For example, go for a walk instead of scrolling online. 00:33:59 Handling criticism effectively can be mastered. The most influential figures have received negative feedback at some point. Hone your positive mindset. Be an advocate instead of a critic. 00:40:02 Follow the facts, stress less. Science has proven that the human brain can only produce quality work 2 hours at a time. Take breaks, make space for flow to happen, and set intentions for the day. Trevor G. Blake is a physicist by background who grew up extremely poor and bullied. Eventually, he tapped into the workings of energy, consciousness, and transformation - in particular the science behind it all. and began creating through intentionality. Over the last ten years. Trevor has created and successfully exited three separate companies for over $600 million and never hired a single employee. She was clairvoyant and clairaudient and so I was kind of a child at her knees. I learned from her the ability to set the ego aside. Effect on Emotions I've met a lot of people who say that I don't get excited, I don't get fearful, I don't get upset. I'm very emotionally level. And that's also the emotion of intuition, it's this very calm feeling. if you get all excited, you're not at the right energy level. If you get all depressed, you're not at the right level. So when you feel very calm, you have a sense of self-confidence that I think is the right frequency. So for me it's all about feeling the frequency. Thoughts on Breathing Mindful breathing is essential and I've studied it a lot. It depends on what I'm doing and what I'm hoping to achieve. I'll change my breathing technique for that. I teach taking long, six-second inhalations and holding like the death breath and then letting go only six times because it's very, very powerful. When I'm doing one of my other techniques, I use the shamanic dancing breathing technique, which is two quick inhalations through the nose and out through the mouth. But when I'm walking, I'm very specific that it's all inhalation through the nose and out of the nose. It's very important to do that. Most people breathe higher their chest and out of their mouth. That's not a way to set the ego aside; the ego is in full place here. I've learned over the years to be aware of my situation and to adapt my breathing to the situation. I observed that my wife was just naturally [breathing], because being clairvoyant, clairaudient, you could see the rhythm of her body change, depending on what mode she was in. And so I kind of learned by watching. Suggested Resources Book: Three Simple Steps: A Map to Success in Business and Life By Trevor G. Blake App: Headspace Bullying Story When I was a kid, I grew up in Liverpool, and we were poor. My father was unemployed and unemployable; not a bad man, he was just different. And my mother was dying of cancer, and we got evicted from the apartment we were living in and we ended up escaping from the creditors and living in a rural area, where English was not popular. I was English in a place where the Welsh wanted the English out. As a kid I would see this stuff on TV, this political movement, burning down houses owned by English people. So I was getting bullied and harassed a bit and so what I did was, I got out of their way. I used to fight because I came from Liverpool with kind of a feisty culture. But I didn't do very well with that. So in the end, I just got out of the way. And the way I did that was to hide in the town library because they were too dumb to go in there.
