Are we manifesting? Are we practicing unattachment to results? Are we trying to create a new us, a better us? How do we even know what a better us might be or look like? Are we good enough as we are? If so, what's the point, what drives us into any kind of action? There's a lot that feels confusing and overwhelming at this time of year. So here, on a new moon at the beginning of a new year, I talk about the rhythms of planting, tending, harvesting, evaluating which are available to us at many points throughout the year. I also muse about hunger and desire and some of the pitfalls we can fall into when we're manifesting from our modern ways of perceiving and relating to the world, as opposed to more ancestral and animist ways of perceiving and relating (and how that can affect our burnout and purpose anxiety). And I share a method that seems to be working well for me (hint - it's not a word-based theme and I'll also tell you why I suspect that didn't work for me). Whatever your way of honoring this moment in time, may you find a way to wield your desires on behalf of more beautiful and meaningful relationships with the world. The energy this month is going to be highly impactful! It's Libra season which is a beautiful balance between dynamic, passionate action and compassionate reflection. Numerologically we are in a 9-month, in an 8-year which has tremendous potential to shift in vibrational frequency - it's a time to level up through letting go. Take your temperature gauge from September: Did you have breakthroughs? Did you feel peace, clear, easy, fluid? Did the bottom drop out from beneath you? Was it hard/heartbreaking/exhausting? Whatever showed up for you in September, whether confronting or comforting, take note because that's the data you want to bring into October. The October 2024 numerology is the same as the January 2024 numerology, so take time to reflect back to what was happening in your life last January. What decisions were you making? What actions were you taking? Notice what was coming up for you and pay attention to it resurfacing this month. The energy of the 9 this month is about clearing out and letting go. Think about what is limiting your life? What can you let go over in order to make space for something new? The 9 is heart-centered, compassionate energy that embodies all the frequencies of the numbers that come before it. The 9 is individualistic, relationships, creativity, organization, shift its perspective, compassionate/nurturing, seeker/searcher, dynamic/empowered and wanting to grow. What is coming to completion in your life and what are you ready to relinquish control of? If you're not ready to let go, the universe might take it away for you. It may seem harsh, but it's for your own good. Notice the combination of the passion of the 8 and the compassion of the 9 this month. Ask yourself: Am I coming from an open heart? How do I get in my own way? How do I limit myself with my perspective or attitude? How can I better ask for help or use my resources effectively? Aim for the high vibes of the 8 & 9 - stay away from the low vibes of pity, anger, victimization, blame and shame. See where you can shake it off, move your body, shift your perspective, or ask for help. This is a great month to pause and reset whenever you need to. Remember that at any moment of your day, you can always choose to begin again. Coming up, all of the outer planets are going to be retrograde which signifies an evolution of the soul's journey. We're getting a cosmic upgrade, cleanout, download - something is happening on a cellular level and the energy is changing. We are in a massive growth spurt, so use it to your advantage to rise higher! There is a new moon solar eclipse on October 2, 2024 at 2:49pm ET which will provide an opportunity for deep introspection and transformation, particularly in the realm of relationships. The new moon is about closure and new beginnings - notice any recurring themes or patterns that may be surfacing or coming to a head. These insights and learnings will be invaluable as you navigate the coming months. Eclipses are known as pivot points, marking significant shifts in our lives. This particular eclipse, occurring in the sign of Libra, is focused on relationships. Remember that relationships don't only occur between two people - they can also be based on your work, your health, your home & family, or your spirituality. Think about the two most important relationships in your life right now and assess what needs to be healed in those relationships in order for you to feel happy, healthy, significant, abundant, or peaceful. Libra is about balance and harmony and it may be time to re-write terms or adjust how you live everyday. Are there areas where you feel out of sync or disconnected? Ask yourself: What do I bring to this relationship? What do I appreciate and receive from this relationship? What is this taking from me? How am I not using my voice in a healthy way? How am I stuck? Take the time to address these imbalances, remembering that true healing often comes from within. Find a way to speak your truth, while coming from a place of honesty and integrity - stand up for yourself, not against others. Being true to yourself will only help encourage harmony and honesty with others. This is a key moment of empowerment - determine what you need, your role, your power and sovereignty. Journal about what feels imbalanced and if you're really ready to heal.
