Aaron Bullock has emerged in the last five years as one of Australia's most consistent jockeys. In the 2022/2023 season his astounding strike rate saw him win the national jockey's title with 207.5 winners. He's due to return to the saddle at the end of the month following a two month injury layoff. While he had a little spare time on his hands the father-to-be was happy to talk to us about his meteoric rise in the riding ranks. Aaron says he can't wait to get cracking again. He says his weight is under control as he nears a return to the saddle. The heavyweight jockey talks about the Newcastle fall in July which aggravated an old injury. Aaron talks about the impending birth of his first child with wife Amelia (nee Denby). He gives Amelia much of the credit for his continued success. Aaron talks of childhood days in Tumut and his first glimpse of thoroughbreds at the local races. He recalls the family's move to Singleton and his subsequent apprenticeship to trainer Todd Howlett whose career was just getting under way. Aaron has never forgotten his first serious gallop at Muswellbrook. He says he couldn't get the hang of it. There was one particular morning when everything fell into place. Young Bullock suddenly felt he was a jockey at last. He remembers his first ride and his initial win. Sadly his enthusiasm didn't last, and he made the decision to walk away from racing. Fast forward to 2019 when Aaron hit a major hurdle. He remembers a positive test to a banned substance and a six month disqualification. Aaron says his transformation began in the 2019/2020 season. He's ridden 644 winners since with a national premiership thrown in. He talks about his duel with Queenslander James Orman in the closing weeks of the 2022/2023 season. Aaron says his commitment to clients on provincial and country tracks keeps him away from city meetings. Every now and again he'll be lured to town to ride a promising horse. Know Thyself is one of those horses. He also gives a thumbs up to English mare Clear Thinking. The jockey acknowledges some of his favourite horses and horsemen. Aaron pays a special tribute to the jockey he most admires. He makes special mention of Amelia's successful riding career. It's a laid back chat with an inspirational bloke.

Michelle Rossiter is reluctant to call herself an entrepreneur but when you look back at her business journey, she has a knack of seeing a gap, filling it and doing so with great success. Michelle left school at 15 to become an apprentice hairdresser. At 21, she set out to travel around Australia, practicing her hairdressing skills along the way. It wasn't until the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001, that Michelle felt a strong desire to return home and be near family. She soon relocated to Tumut, where her sister was living. It was in Tumut that Michelle's entrepreneurial spirit was sparked.Recognising a lack of eateries in their hometown, Michelle took the initiative to establish a cafe of her own. She successfully launched The Coach House. Although the cafe has changed ownership over time, it continues to flourish. Not stopping there, Michelle ventured into additional entrepreneurial pursuits, founding another cafe and operating a mobile coffee and pancake van. However, wanting a job that was less labour-intensive, Michelle decided to pursue her passion for outdoor riding. This led to opening Ground Up in 2017.Ground Up stock a full range of bikes that cater to all needs, from seasoned professionals to beginners. The business outgrew its first store, and is now the largest bike store in the NSW Snowy Valleys region. In this episode, recorded amongst the bikes at Ground Up, Michelle shares her business journey along with the challenges of running a retail business, the importance of a strong online presence, and the impact of the pandemic on the bike industry. The mum of three also talks about balancing work and family commitments. This episode is part of our special rural NSW podcast van tour. On today's show, Simeon Boikov discusses a remarkable development involving a cardboard drone manufactured in Australia, specifically Melbourne. These drones, priced at $50,000 each, have been utilized in actions against Russian forces within the Kursk zone. Prime Minister Albanese claimed that these drones were intended for humanitarian aid deliveries, despite their deployment in attacks on a Russian airbase. The show also explores speculation about Yevgeny Prigozhin's potential state funeral denial and delves into Australia's increasing militarization. The discussion includes concerns about the rising influx of migrants leading to a housing crisis, with the housing supply-demand gap exacerbated by the government's reluctance to decrease migrant intake. Moreover, the show covers 2GB host Ray Hadley's criticism of a new radio ratings system, suggesting that lackluster content might contribute to the decline in program ratings. For more detailed information, check out the sources: Eurasian Times Article, AeroTime Article, and Telegraph Article, as well as the commentary piece from The Australian and news about 2GB host Ray Hadley. Later, John Larter discusses critical topics: healthcare woes in a town of 10,000 due to sacked paramedics, Clive Palmer funding anti-Telstra action on COVID-19 vaccines, Australia's vulnerability to the Eris variant, and WWE Star Bray Wyatt's COVID-19-related heart complications and passing at 36. GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Australian born Aussie Cossack rose to prominence during the NSW lockdowns as an outspoken media personality notorious for his hilarious interactions with the NSW police and numerous large scale campaigns against corrupt politicians. Boikov left Australia at the age of 18 to study at the Moscow Sretensky Seminary. It was here that he he had his first posting as a journalist Whilst in Russia Boikov became heavily involved in the Russian Cossack movement. Upon returning to Australia Boikov was elected the Ataman of the Australian Cossack chapter and founded a pro-Russian political newspaper called Russian Frontier. In May of 2022 the Aussie Cossack was jailed for 10 months for breaching a suppression and non-publication order for content posted to his YouTube channel. After successfully winning an appeal against the severity of the sentence Aussie Cossack left prison. In December 2022 the Aussie Cossack defected to the Russian Consulate in Sydney where he was granted diplomatic asylum. From his studio within the Consulate building he now broadcasts daily on TNT Radio. GUEST 2 OVERVIEW: John Larter found himself sacked by NSW Ambulance for failing to comply with a mandatory vaccination order and subsequent policy. John is passionate about serving and answered the call from “Hoody” to assist with the Corakai floods. He has worked in many disasters including assisting with the Bali bombings and our most recent bushfires. John's town of 10,000 can't get adequate ambulance service without borrowing from nearby cities-why? Because they have sacked ambulance staff over the jabs. Imagine an unvaccinated ambulance paramedic giving someone with a heart attack covid 19? That could send them to the hospital!!!

Host Rosie Waterland's realised at age 8 that she was never going to be one of those incredible kids on the news who manages to save the day in a time of crisis. While staying with her Dad and Grandpa in Tumut, a fall by Grandpa sparked off a series of events that ended up with the passing of Rosie's Dad. Rosie and Lisa talk about that moment in their lives and the effect that it still has on them to this day. This episode contains elements that may cause distress. Life's next turn sees the family move into a Houso complex nicknamed 'Smurf Village', a place planted right in the middle of affluent suburban Sydney. But host Rosie Waterland's and family's arrival there was not straightforward: there was a short lived marriage to a Navy man, time living in Hawaii and then moving back again to Tumut. How did all this happen? Why was Lisa arrested by the military police? And how does one navigate through the cacophony of life that is 'Smurf Village'? Rosie Waterland's 'Crazy Lady' tour is touring nationally in September and October. In the middle of the night host Rosie Waterland's Mum and Dad pack everything in the car and flee Sydney to escape bikie drug dealers after a deal did not exactly go to plan. Mum and Dad escape to Tumut, with Rosie in Lisa's tummy and Rosie's big sister safe in the back seat of the car. But is that what really happened on that fateful night? Lisa's recollection is somewhat different to the story Rosie has been able to piece together over the years; and fleeing Sydney in the middle of the night isn't just about getting away from bikies..
