As a mother to sons, I've seen firsthand how the mother-son bond can be misjudged in our society. That's why I'm thrilled to bring you stories from men like Michael, Alex, and Sam on this episode of Life Points, each sharing how their cherished relationships with their mothers have become their pillars of strength and wisdom. It's a testament to the unspoken depth of these connections and how they influence not just personal values but also the quest for a life partner. We're peeling back the layers of the 'mommy's boy' stereotype, revealing its true essence as a profound and valuable dynamic.During our conversations, we also take a hard look at the nuanced influence of societal expectations and cultural backgrounds on partner selection. Our guests, including Liam, Maria, Nathan, and Emily, open up about their own journeys to finding a partner who aligns with their life's mission and values. Moreover, tales from Jeremy, Oliver, and Rachel emphasize that the search for 'the one' isn't about perfection, but about embracing imperfections and fostering strong communication. Each narrative weaves into a powerful reminder: Finding a companion is more about shared growth and understanding than ticking boxes on an ideal mate checklist. Don't miss these heartfelt exchanges where we celebrate the rich tapestry of love and companionship.Support the showhttps://chat.openai.com/g/g-8E47AuJfB-life-points-assistanthttps://FaceBook.com/Lifepointswithronda1https://youtube.com/@lifepointswithronda2968https://TikTok.com/@lifepointswithrondahttps://Instagram.com/@lifepointswithrondahttps://Patreon.com/@lifepointswithrondahttps://Lifepointswithronda.com

I was in the room when he got his first #1 award and I'll never forget it. In this episode I have the privilege of sharing the story behind the songs written by Phil Barton. Phil came to Nashville from Australia where he already has some major success with a children's band called "Glower Pot Gang" that has sold over 400,000 records. He's done almost 90 kids records including some huge success for things like Bob the Builder and Thomas the Train. Once he moved to Nashville Phil was known to write two songs pretty much every day and I don't know that I ever saw anyone work harder for it than he did. He'd write a couple songs a day and then go play shows at night - pretty much every night. His first #1 was a song called "A Woman Like You" that he wrote with Jon Stone and Johnny Bulford for Lee Brice. It was all of their first #1's together and that day at the ceremony was a blast. He's going to talk about that song along with everything else he's had happen after that. I have known Phil for years and he's just a great writer, hard worker and genuinely a great guy. Can we fairly say, that the white woman is more soft spoken, without pointing out the fact that she isn't called out of her name (verbally abused)24/7. Or, that she isn't aggressive or hasn't been known to throw a tantum or two, when in actuality it just remains " out of sight" and hidden, because white men wont allow you, the media, or any other man; to portray white women as anything other than what white men want their women portrayed as? Furthermore, what if Black Men took the same amount of time and energy they spend, glorifying and uplifting other women- to do so for their own women? Website: thetruthwithtrinity.com
In 2016, Pakistan's first social media celebrity, Qandeel Baloch, was murdered in a suspected honor killing. Her death quickly became a media sensation. It was both devastatingly routine and breathtakingly brutal, and in a new media landscape, it couldn't be ignored. Qandeel had courted attention and outrage with a talent for self-promotion that earned her comparisons to Kim Kardashian—and made her the constant victim of harassment and death threats. Social media and reality television exist uneasily alongside honor killings and forced marriages in a rapidly, if unevenly, modernizing Pakistan, and Qandeel Baloch's story became emblematic of the cultural divide. In this deftly reported and artfully told account, Sanam Maher reconstructs the story of Qandeel's life and explores the depth and range of her legacy from her impoverished hometown rankled by her infamy, to the aspiring fashion models who follow her footsteps, to the Internet activists resisting the same vicious online misogyny she faced. Maher depicts a society at a crossroads, where women serve as an easy scapegoat for its anxieties and dislocations, and teases apart the intrigue and myth-making of the Qandeel Baloch story to restore the humanity of the woman at its center. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pbliving/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pbliving/support

In this truly fascinating episode, Rob is in conversation with Katie Hopkins, media personality and the most controversial former contestant of ‘The Apprentice'. They discuss everything from the importance of being liked or not through to epilepsy and dismantling the mainstream media. This raw and honest episode is full of surprises and listening will challenge what you think about an individual who regularly polarises with her comments. If you think you know all about Katie Hopkins then listen in and find out if you really do! KEY TAKEAWAYS You don't genuinely need to be liked? I know all the right things I need to say and do to be loved they just don't happen to be views that I hold. If you are honest about what you think, 50% of people may hate you but a good amount of people will warm to you because not many people are honest and prepared to be hated for it. We all go through a process of needing to reconcile what people have said about us. I need to be loved by my family and a few people who are close to me. I appreciate people who tell me I'm doing a good job but those who stop me and tell me they hate me are of no importance to me. What people read in the media is an element of me and I have to be responsible for it, they gained that impression of me from my commentary. It can be vile to them but is a truth for me. We all have truths and my truth may be completely different to your truth about something but none of us thinks we are being dishonest. Is there anything you shouldn't have said? There is nothing I would retract, apologise for or explain. I acknowledge there will some things out there that I shouldn't have said but you can't ever apologise or explain on twitter because you will never win. Your critics can be good for your career, your posts don't go viral from the people who post nice comments, they go viral when someone gets upset and there is a massive sub-thread and argument. What's it like being in the public eye? When you've been in the public eye you build resilience and recognise that a lot of people who are critical of you, want to be you. I'm good at dealing with criticism but not that great at dealing with compliments. If you get 9 compliments and 1 troll it's vital you don't just respond to the troll. If you get a compliment it's important to own it with thanks. We can spend lots of our time looking and hearing from the same faces in the media when the really interesting stuff is everyone else. The everyday interactions and conversations we are all a part of make up the genius of life. What's being disruptive for you? Disruption for me is not being satisfied and going along with things because it's easier. It's always harder to swim upstream but it's so worth it. Swim upstream and you'll be alright. BEST MOMENTS ‘You say things that other people don't have the courage to say' All the best people are mad, all the best people are weird and if you are mad, weird and alone, I believe you are heading in the right direction' ‘That's what anybody involved in alternative media is about, we are trying to be ahead of stuff' VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ Rude book by Katie Hopkins Katie Hopkins Twitter ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor and property educator. I have to admit, talking with Andrew was one of the most fun conversations I’ve been able to record thus far. He was just so easy to talk to, it felt like we had been longtime friends. Anyways, Andrew shares a lot of the juicy scoop on what it was really like to work for one of the biggest Hollywood agencies in the world, William Morris Endeavor (WME). If you are familiar with the popular show Entourage, Andrew was basically like a real-life Lloyd (Ari Gold’s assistant). As a super fan of that show, you can imagine my excitement at getting the inside scoop. Andrew shares the good and the bad of working in entertainment and what he’s up to these days. Hope you enjoy! In today’s episode, you'll find out: How he decided to quit law and go into the entertainment industry The hardest thing and best thing about working in the industry What it's REALLY like to work in the infamous mail room and how he got into the mail room The most bizarre task he had to do while working as an entertainment assistant How accurate his life was to the popular television show Entourage If talent agents in Hollywood are really like Ari Gold from Entourage His advice for people who want to break into the entertainment industry What it's really like to work at William Morris Endeavor (WME) What "The Black List" is and why it's important Full show notes at: brittneyllynn.com/003 Links mentioned: The Mailroom: Hollywood History from the Bottom Up Blush Online Life Coaching The Blacklist Scripts Scent of a Woman Like the show? From stardom at Motown at age sixteen, to obscurity and near destitution, to an amazing career revival in her sixties when she sang at President Obama’s pre-inaugural concert at the Lincoln Memorial, LaVette—one of R&B’s legendary singers—discusses her roller-coaster ride through the world of music.
We'll start today's show with a special number one party for Lee Brice. Lee has had tons of success as a writer, but ironically, his biggest hit as an artist was not one of his own. Kelly caught upp with Lee and the writters of "Woman Like You" at a party to celebrate.
Lee Brice was first introduced to the country masses as the hit writer behind "More Than A Memory" for Garth Brooks in 2007. He's since had a huge hit with the most played song of 2010..."Love Like Crazy," and he's also written other major cuts, including "Crazy Girl" for the Eli Young Band, which also wnet to number one. In an ironic twist, his latest hit "A Woman Like You," was not one of his own songs, but it has a sound you might have come to expect from Lee. Kelly Lynn headed out to the Country Music Association to celebrate with Lee and the writers behind that special song.
