Ever stop to think about the real cost of our modern lifestyle? Chronic illness, infertility, rising mental health challenges—they're not accidents. They're symptoms of systems designed to prioritize profit over people and the planet. From ultra-processed foods to toxic farming practices, we're trapped in a cycle that's stealing our vitality. In this episode of Super Life, I sit down with Dr. Zach Bush, a pioneer in regenerative health and farming, to pull back the curtain on how we got here—and how we can change. We're diving into the hidden dangers of our food systems, the power of reconnecting with nature, and practical steps you can take to restore balance to your life (and the planet). Dr. Zach Bush is a triple-board-certified physician specializing in internal medicine and endocrinology, and a globally recognized leader in microbiome research. He's also the founder of Farmer's Footprint, helping farmers transition to regenerative practices that heal our soil and our health. Hello Parrish the Thoughters. Yes that is a word and you are my groupies. Enjoy your place in the club. My guest today for the fourth time is my friend Kris Kristensen. For those that are joining us for the first time or if it's been a minute, three years ago, Kris was diagnosed with stage 4 Chondrosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer in his pelvis and was literally weeks from the disease taking his life. To save him, doctors performed a grueling surgery called a Pelvectomy. Yes it's as harrowing as it sounds. The entire left side of his pelvis had to be amputated and in the process he lost a perfectly good left leg. Needless to say his life was forever changed and this interview is part 4 in a series of life check-ins to see how he is often winning the battle to get his life back to a somewhat normal state and also a deep dive into the darkest recesses of his soul where he often ends up while trying to make sense of the why behind this new journey.  He tells me that dying would have been easy. Living is the hardest part. Below are links to the previous three episodes of his journey. Interview #3 - The doctors took my leg and now my career won't have me back...yet. Interview #2 - 9 months with my new leg and an MBA in life. Interview #1 - I complained and it saved my life. Kris' Blog Journey #Chondrosarcoma #CancerSucks #Amputee #AgeDiscrimination #DisabilityDiscrimination #CancerIsntADeathSentence #RabbitHole #Perserverance #GOAT #ServeSomeone #WinningAtLife #DontGoDownTheRabbitHole #TheRabbitHole #PhantomPainsAreReal #Rolodex #GoingInAnotherDirection #CancerSurvivor #SickOfCancer

In this week's podcast, host, Jim Santos speaks to expat Donna Stiteler. For many years, Donna served as International Living's Ecuador Correspondent from the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. Cuenca, a highland city built in a steep-sided valley deep in the Andes mountains, is an established expat location. In fact, many would claim that it's the world's premier expat city. Due to its elevation and latitude, Cuenca enjoys a dependable, spring-like climate where the temperatures peak at around 75 F, and dip to cool evenings in the low 60s F…every day of the year. The city center is bisected by the clean waters of the Tomebamba river, but such is the nature of the lush, mountain hinterland, there are another four rivers flowing through the metropolitan region. With quiet trams providing excellent public transport, taxis which will whisk you across the city for $3, and a major bus station connecting Cuenca to the rest of Ecuador and beyond, there's really no need to own a car in the city. That's just one of many savings which combine to create a lifestyle that Donna claims reduced her stress and worries to a point where it saved her life. Living more of her life outdoors, eating more healthily, no longer slaving her life away to make ends meet…Donna has found a life in Cuenca that she couldn't have possibly imagined, or afforded, back in the States.Settle in and listen to Donna's inspiring story, as Jim Santos hosts the latest episode of International Living's Bigger Better World podcast.Read Donna's cover story in the February issue of International Living magazine: Expat-Friendly Cuenca Grows Up: Easy Living in Ecuador's Affordable Retirement Haven. Ellen is an artist, a creative, a potter, a design stylist and landscaper planner. She developed a passion for design at an early age. The running family joke was her rearranging the furniture and causing many surprise calamities at night. She built and painted her Barbie Dream House out of scrapes of fabric from her mom's sewing studio and boxes. Ellen studied art, home decor and design at Temple University, the School of Interior Redesign in Connecticut and has been self-taught. Ellen Frances has clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Miami and California. She offers home staging which results in quicker sales. Ellen also specializes in Space Planning, closet, office, kitchen and bath designs as well as home styling. She also specializes in redesign and repurposing spaces with client's own pieces, new pieces and inherited pieces. Sustainable living and recycling, is an important factor in incorporating home design.   Her keen eye and in-depth conversations with clients results in beautifully designed, functional spaces. Her motto ‘Easy Living for the Soul', resonates in her design concepts and problem solving, resulting in clients living their best lives in their spaces. Design and Function go hand in hand in every project. Ellen also operates a non-profit in which she volunteers her design services to assisting transitioning families in need. Through her business, furnishings and services are donated from individuals and vendors.
