The Feeling Your Oats: FAMILY with a HISTORY of Drama podcast is an addictive, original, and humorously humble show that has quickly become a favorite for me and my family. We have listened to all the episodes in just one week of driving to and from work, and even my teenager enjoys it. The shenanigans and relatable life lessons shared on the show make him laugh so hard. I hope this podcast continues because we can't get enough of it!

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to combine humor with wisdom. Travis, the host, has a way of making even simple life lessons stick and become more meaningful in everyday life. His storytelling skills are exceptional, and he always manages to entertain while also imparting valuable insights. The authenticity and down-home goodness that exudes from each episode make you feel like you're sitting around a campfire with a wise friend.

Another great aspect is the relatability factor. Travis shares anecdotes from his own life and experiences with a family history of drama. These stories touch on various aspects of family dynamics, relationships, personal growth, and navigating through challenges. It's easy to see ourselves or someone we know in these stories, which adds an extra layer of connection.

If I had to point out any potential downside to this podcast, it would be that some episodes may not resonate with everyone. Personal tastes vary when it comes to humor and storytelling styles, so there might be instances where certain episodes don't captivate as much as others. However, the overall quality of the content consistently shines through.

In conclusion, The Feeling Your Oats: FAMILY with a HISTORY of Drama podcast is an absolute gem that combines entertainment and wisdom in a delightful package. Travis's passion for what he does is evident in every episode, making it an enjoyable listen for anyone who needs a pick-me-up or some distraction from daily stresses. His ability to tell stories leaves you feeling better and armed with little nuggets of wisdom to carry forward in your own life. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen; it'll quickly become a favorite in your lineup.

SPECIAL THANKS to Collett Carter for the family history story lead. The Boykin Mill Pond in South Carolina has been the hub of regional industry for processing grains and timber. In 1865 it was the scene of one of the last battles of the Civil War. Life in the late 1800's was frequently just inexplicably tragic, as Edward Augustus Boardman and Catherine Fitzsimmons discovered in their lives together. Though they had financial success, attempting to raise children was nearly the end of them emotionally. The plans we have aren't always what God has in mind for us. As hard as we try, sometimes we are just called to go through things. Such was the life of the Boardman family from Golden, Colorado. (

Brothers are an indispensable part of country life for me. Mine has been ready at a moments notice for just about any wacky idea, adrenaline moment, project, rescue, or emergency. Its important to note that family history isnt just something that happened 50 or 100 years ago. Family history is a daily event. If you're apt to retelling a story 3 or more times, and its recounted at family reunions, make sure its written up and preserved.  As Gerrit Gong recently stated, “We each have a story. As we discover our story, we connect, we belong, we become.” Family history is just as much about becoming ourselves today, as it is about feeling those who've gone before us in the yesterdays of the past. Preserving YOUR identity in a relationship and marriage is important, because if you change who you are, you have changed who they initially fell in love with. And then what? Yet along with preserving the YOU in a WE scenario, I have never heard it said that a relationship or marriage didn't work out because there was too much we, us, our, and togetherness. If those aspects cause a dissipation of the relationship, its the love that is crumbling and fracturing under the unproven foundation of how VITAL it is that we LIKE & ENJOY each other BEFORE we choose to “fall in love”. Remember….. Do we realize how much our frequency matters to others. You and I are meant to serve people in our frequency range. What needs to be said in and about life cannot be understood, internalized or implemented until we share it with certain people. They NEED that from you and I. I'm talking about life, hard decisions, victories, mistakes, proud moments, regrets, confessions, and just being absolutely emotionally vulnerable.Everyone has friends who just seem to be honed in to your sweet spot when it comes to allowing you unconditional pliability with them. You know who I am talking about, those People who you could just say anything to and you'd know that there will be no judgement. That stuff is so rare. So….Whether its your method, or your experiences, the way you present things or your personality…its gonna be your specific frequency, Your version of something, a topic, a lesson, an opinion, a perspective, will affect certain people differently and more deeply than anyone else's.There are certain people in this life who will not be affected or impacted unless you effect them yourself. You have a way of loving and considering that certain people need. Frequency matters. Your frequency matters!!!There are things in this life that will never get done, or changed, unless you do them yourself and change them yourself. So get out there. Effect them. Share who you are. ================================INSTAGRAM:@FYO.Podcast @TravisM.Heaton PODCASTS: (click the link)>

Loving one another is Understanding One Another. I've been reminded of this recently from a lifelong friend. Her and I don't agree on everything. And to be honest with you, i look forward to disagreeing with her. And I say that For selfish reasons, because she is gently yet firmly opinionated, and I get a different perspective. Usually because, out of lack of experiences I'm ignorant. We don't have to agree with each other to understand each other. Understanding creates respect beyond congruent opinions. I was reminded this week of a fav quote of mine from Marie Forleo, who said “Clarity comes from engagement and not thought.”We gain understanding of others in active engagement with them. Learning of them, considering them, and in a healthy setting, being present with them. It is unfortunate that we ofttimes wait until we hear a eulogy before we start applying gentle consideration instead of church pew judgment? The gift of losing someone can be really life altering, and can raise your spiritual and emotional frequency to some very healthy levels. As my friend Russ Nelson once said “We are born to die, and we die to live.”I hope we strive to fully FEEL OUR OATS by understanding others a little more. I feel more complete when I am dismantled by humbling experiences and then reassembled by the considerate feelings of love that are inclusive of grief & sorrow. If we are fortunate we are made DIFFERENT by the depth experiences. The best way to celebrate another's life is to learn from it. Become a better you because of them. If we aren't able to glean something from one another, are we truly friends or are we just seriously not paying attention?============================INSTAGRAM:@FYO.Podcast @TravisM.Heaton PODCASTS: (click the link)>
