How can I help other people find their own strength? How can I share what was coming through me?Coaching wasn't the plan, but it became a passion. As I began my coaching journey, with every session I felt more and more alive and fulfilled. I knew, I found my calling. The love that fills me when I work with clients, is the love I give to them during my sessions. If you asked me what I bring to my clients, I can say from the reflection on all my past clients, that I help them find their own strength. From The VaultA conversation with Nicholas and why he started Mind Muscle Pro.My love for working out and wellness started in college. During a particularly low point, a friend, a savior, convinced me to join him at the gym. It felt good! Then he convinced me to go again….and again. As physical training became a consistent part of my schedule, I started to feel something that I hadn't felt much in mylife…happiness. From there, my voyage has evolved into a love for overall wellness: mental, physical, and spiritual. On this path I stumbled upon a heartfelt passion to help others living with mental illness, low self-esteem, or just a bleak outlook on life. I encourage natural and healthy avenues to help others find true peace and happiness within themselves. I'm a certified personal trainer and a nutrition advisor and promise you I do NOT have all the answers. But I will help you find the support you need.I created Mind Muscle Pro with that desire in mind. MMP is not a ‘program' or a ‘magical fix'. Rather, it's a platform for finding solutions. It's place to share encouragement, personal stories of triumph, and resources. Now, others can join the MMP family. We are not just about mental health awareness. MMP is about finding solutions for people who are struggling. We're in this together.Website: Mind Muscle Pro Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. I really enjoyed this conversation with Dr. Janja Lalich talking about everything to do with cults. Janja was originally in a cult in her younger years and the study that she has gone through makes her the best person to discuss this subject with. It was a highlight of my podcast work to have this conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as i did recording it.Janja Lalich (b. 1945) is an American sociologist and writer. Lalich is best known as a foremost expert on cults and coercion, charismatic authority, power relations, ideology and social control. She is a professor emerita of sociology at the California State University, Chico. She is a recently retired professor in the sociology department of California State University, Chico, and has contributed several articles to academic journals on the subject of cults and religions. After her experiences in a radical political group that she identifies as a cult, she founded the Center for Research on Influence and Control. In her work, she describes the main features of a "totalistic" control group or cult: "They 'espouse an all-encompassing belief system', 'exhibit excessive devotion to the leader', 'avoid criticism of the group and its leader', and 'feel disdain for non-members'."Janja has appeared in countless documentaries involving cults. In 2006 on Big Brother he came out live on national tv because he wanted to give a voice to the LGBTQIA community. He has also had his share of accidents that have taken him quite an amount of time to recover from. Dave returned to Big Brother this year for its 21st celebration that put newbies and old stars against each other! It was quite an amazing season. He works at Rufftrack-RuffTrack is an awesome youth program based at the RuffTRACK Farm near Riverstone. A fully registered charity, we take on young people (12-17 years old) who have disengaged with school and the community to give them skills, education, a sense of self worth and reconnecting them with their community. We work closely with Hawkesbury police and the incredible BackTrack Youth Works to make a real change in young people's lives. Each young person bonds with a dog in their first days. That partnership takes them on a journey of learning responsibility, caring for others and communicating without violence. The team then travels the country demonstrating their skills and giving them purpose and a reason to give life a serious go. Skills attained in the program include dog training, dog sports, horticulture, landscaping, welding, aluminium fabrication, animal husbandry, leather work, wood work, driving and licence attainment, carpentry, mechanics, bushcraft, domestic skills, nutrition and physical education, effective communication, conflict resolution, building healthy relationships..... and a whole lot more!If you would like to donate to this amazing program? I really enjoyed this conversation with Dr. Luisa Sanz. Her insight into mental health and the struggles we have to normalise anxiety and other issues is amazing. After working in psychiatry for over 25 years, Dr. Sanz has recently launched a personal project, Mind Yr Life, for the purpose of sharing credible information surrounding mental health, showing people that they are not alone, building community, and – most importantly – eradicating stigma surrounding mental health. Dr. Sanz embarked upon this journey as an expert in the field, but also as someone who has been intimately impacted by mental health struggles. She grew up with two brothers who suffered from schizophrenia. While she lived her entire early life in fear of violence and unpredictability in her home, she also watched her brothers be judged, cast out, and led down by society.  Get bonus content on Patreon See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
