How do you build a technology platform from the ground up with music as your first passion? Once that is done, how do you distribute that content with all the digital platforms that are available and how do you get paid or set your price? Getting to point A to point B is what Patrick Hill is doing with his new engagement platform, Disctopia, for content creatives and content owners to drive engagement and monetization. From his experience of 15 years in technology design, mar-tech, and internal communication software development, and from those around him in the community, he saw how folks can set their price on what they see as value for their content. We discuss the ideation process and mindset of how Patrick saw his worth and his skills as higher value outside of the corporate infrastructure, to provide a pathway for creatives, like himself, to set their own monetary value, to own their creative future. In this episode of the Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with the CEO & Founder of Disctopia, Patrick Hill.Patrick Hill, the visionary behind Disctopia, explained that the platform offers content owners full transparency of their data and the opportunity to monetize it. Disctopia primarily focuses on audio and video content, providing insights into audience engagement. They distinguish between regular plays and highly engaged plays, which they term "true plays." This data allows content owners to charge different rates for different levels of engagement, thereby increasing their revenue potential. When asked about the implementation of Disctopia in school systems, Patrick revealed that they have already signed up a couple of schools for their program. They provide mobile podcast kits for students and teachers to set up podcast studios on campus, typically placed in the library or media center for easy access. How can we give everyone a way to monetize their content. We all know that digital content is really at the surface of where we're going. As we just saw, currency is going digital. People are going digital in the Metaverse. Patrick Hill of the UK Daily Mirror newspaper reported in what he termed an Exclusive Interview with Meghan Markle's dad Thomas Markle, writing that Thomas was vowing to tell 'his truth' as he launched his YouTube channel, promising that the chats will be "no holds barred." Co-host of the channel and 'close pal' to Thomas LA based photographer Karl Larsen told the Daily Mirror that he and Thomas were inspired by people such as the royal commentator Lady Colin Campbell and also podcaster Joe Rogan, and others. The pair have called their YouTube channel "Remarkable Friendship with Thomas Markle and Karl Larsen."In the Daily Mirror interview Thomas promised he would give us his views on his eldest daughter Samantha and her court case. Samantha is suing Meghan for defamation - something I spoke about in my previous podcast. In a prologue to the first episode of their show, Karl said the aim was for this to be an entertainment show, with the thoughts and opinions expressed being those of Karl and Thomas and with us free to come to our own thoughts and opinions. In other words, we may not like what they have to say.I have now watched the first episode and provide an overview of the topics that Karl and Thomas discussed, as well as my own thoughts and opinions. Here is a link to the show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr3YZLiGyYE&t=623sPlease keep listening for future podcasts on all things Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lili. This is the debut episode of the new BCTR director Tony Burrow! Tony welcomes Patrick Hill, who studies how individuals consider and ultimately commit to a purpose for life. Hill notes that we all face difficult times where we have to decide who we are and where we want to go. He's interested in helping people find direction at times of uncertainty by determining what the best choices are for them by identifying their own direction in life. He and Tony also discuss the lifespan perspective of his work and his current research in retirement communities. Patrick Hill is an associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. His research focuses on understanding how dispositional traits predict and shape trajectories of healthy aging. Hill's current research is interested in how individuals explore options for and ultimately commit to a purpose for life, and how having a sense of purpose predicts important life outcomes. In addition, he examines the lifespan development of pro-social personality characteristics, such as dispositional gratitude and forgiveness, as well as how these traits influence relationship outcomes. His research program considers these questions with the intent of promoting healthy development from adolescence into older adulthood. Doing Translational Research is produced by Carrie Chalmers.

This is a great conversation. There is a bit of swearing and it does talk about child abuse

We all face different kinds of loss in our lives, and we all go through hard times. It is an undeniable reality. The question becomes, what kind of freedom do we have to express what we are feeling? How safe do we think we are in expressing how and what we are going through? Loss and grief are not things we were taught to have a healthy relationship with, even though we can and we should. In today's episode, Erez is joined by Patrick Hill. Patrick is a transformational business and personal coach, focused on helping and supporting people through the harder times in life. Patrick is here to help us understand what we can do in the now to help us be with our pain in order to feel past it. After 21 years in recovery from drug addiction and the loss of his mother, Patrick realized that most of the significant growth periods in his life have been born from difficult times. Realizing this, he wanted to create a safe space free of judgements for clients to look beyond fear and shame, in their now. Chapter Eighty-feven - The Fomme. It's 7.45am on the 15th December 2020 and today's stone clear is in memory of Patrick Hill's dog Dizzy. Richard is forced to think of a time where he (or Wolfie) might traverse this field without their best friend. If his failing fitness is anything to go by then Wolfie should outlive him. There are still camouflaged beets and the mud is as bad as ever, but the hope of new stones growing through the mud like hammy poppies keeps the spirits up. There's the biggest stone for a while and one that looks like an egg, but the Stone Stasi are quiet. Maybe a bit too quiet. But Rich says hello to a lady in a dressing gown, so there's some human interaction.

Dr. Karp and Dr. Patrick Hill discuss public health law and medical ethics with an emphasis on the patient's right to die (Recorded January 19, 2020).
My guest in this episode is Patrick Hill, CEO of Realm which many of you may know from the REI-endorsed communication app. But over the past few months, Patrick has been working on a second, significant project - introducing AI to property management with an AI called Claire. Patrick talks us through the numbers of the 'busy' work that property managers do - including more than 1 million emails a year. And yet the job grows ever more stressful as PMs struggle to meet customer expectations. In such a space, AI in property management becomes a complete no brainer. Adopting this kind of technology gives us the tools to make customer service the centre of our businesses while making life less stressful for our staff. My prediction is that in five years time, we'll look back at 2019 and wonder how on earth - and why on earth - we struggled to do it manually for so long. Helen speaks with Patrick Hill, Chairman of the Outback Highway Development Council and Shire President of Laverton in Western Australia. Patrick explains how the Outback Way came into existence and walks us through the history and development of this project. This episode is a replay of the second episode of the Outback Way Podcast, however it's such an important story we felt it warranted being shared again! Turning the Outback Way into reality has been a 20-year commitment to connect Australia, grow the industries throughout inland Australia (tourism, pastoral, mining and horticulture) leading to opportunities for small remote and isolated towns. The driver is more economic and social benefit for the people in these areas. CNT EVEN: CNT EVN are a relatively new band but their fresh sound and busy playing schedule has seen them become a formidable band about town, pulling crowds and fans along for the ride. CNT EVN released a debut EP called ‘Demo’ in September 2018 and with four tracks to it, it’s a damn enjoyable listen. They take their intensity to the stage and are comprised of Gemma Wyer on the Drums, Rita Braby hitting the Bass, Anthony Gray on the Guitar and fronted by Rae Hatch on Vocal and Keys. CNT EVN really bring something different to the table and it’s super exciting to hear. It has classic punk sounding structures with energetic fast paced riffs, big thumping bass, crashing drums and howling vocals but there is also the added synth factor which makes CNT EVN carve their own path and sound. They are snagging numerous support slots, building from strength to strength and even are facebook official as of February of 2019. Enough of the talk and more of the walk, recorded live at the Black Bear Lodge on the 1st of March 2019. Dumb Things: Dumb Things have been around for a couple of years and they produce some of the finest laid back indie rock that suits a balcony in Brisbane with the sun setting, cold drink in hand just before the aeroguard gets whipped out. They have so far released one album called Dumb Things and it truly is an extremely enjoyable listen. It has those jangly guitar parts that immediately give you that sense of ease and they do such an effective job of writing a melody that buries into your subconscious that you end up singing their songs all week. The group is comprised of Adam Vincent, James Southey, Madeleine Keinonen, Andrew Robinson and Patrick Hill. This particular recording was at their LP launch after their record received a vinyl release via Bobo Integral. Recorded live at The Foundry on the 28th of February 2019.

Patrick Hill is an actor from from Middletown, Ohio. As a toddler, Patrick’s mom got him into modeling for catalogues, and by 8-years-old he was signed to an agency. It wasn’t until Patrick saw himself in his first commercial that he knew he wanted to be an actor. He dropped everything to just focus on acting. When he was a teenager, his mom packed up the family and headed out for Los Angeles so that Patrick could give things a real shot. Amazingly, he booked a big role for a new show on Disney Channel. He was thrilled. But just 4 days into shooting, Patrick suffered a devastating loss. He was forced go back home to Ohio and abandon his dream. After years of building a new life, and trying to live “normally, ”Patrick made a huge sacrifice to head back to Los Angeles, and give his dreams another shot.
Helen speaks with Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Michael McCormack about his background and the life experiences that influenced his step into politics, as well as why he is so passionate about regional Australia. Recorded after the 2018 AGM in Alice Springs of the Outback Highway Development Council, the conversation also covers the importance of better connectivity (of road, rail and telecommunications) for delivering services and support to regional communities. Next, Helen speaks with Chair of the Outback Highway Development Council, Patrick Hill about the work that has been done in 2018 and the future works people can expect to see in 2019. They cover the sections of the road that have been sealed so far, and what's left to do in sealing the entire Outback Way. Finally, Helen touches on the calendar of events for the first half of 2019 at locations along the Outback Way, for all of you planning your trip for 2019 over the Christmas holidays and into January. There is enormous amounts of fun to be had throughout the year across several states so no matter what part of the Outback Way your trip covers, there will be something for you to see and do.
