Selina Stein is a fibromyalgia patient in the UK who uses cannabis to treat the symptoms of her condition. Selina is now one of many patients being discriminated against in the UK due to their laws around cannabis and driving. Selina has a prescription for her cannabis use but the UK laws on driving have not been adjusted to accommodate for this. Currently the UK laws remain as a no tolerance limit meaning the limit is set to almost the lowest detectable amount and not to a limit which would reflect impairment. As Selina is a long time consumer of cannabis due to her condition the police had her car marked as being driven by a person under the influence of Cannabis. The cops pulled her in due to this and not due to any signs of dangerous driving. She has since been brought to court and lost her driving license however she intends to appeal the case to set a legal precedent for other medical cannabis patients in the UK and help reduce the discrimination they face. Selina needs to raise £5000 to bring her appeal to the high court and she is currently being helped by the Seed Our Future campaign. Go Fund me link https://gofund.me/2c6d56d7

Green Tea is a full time carer for her husband who suffers with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Her partner's condition has seriously deteriorated in the last few years due to his MS which has led to him being paralyzed on the left side of his body. On top of this he has extremely limited motor skills on his right side and no sense of touch in his right hand. Green Tea cares for her husband around the clock starting at 6am in the morning. She has done this for over 3 years now and without a day off. She is unable to take a day off as she is also a provider of her husband's medicine in that she grows cannabis for him. This means that Green Tea is unable to avail of support like home help as she is fearful the cannabis plants would be discovered leading to gardai interfering in their lives. Green Tea started growing cannabis not long after the pandemic started. She does this as they could not afford to keep buying substandard and overpriced cannabis on the black-market. Also because they could not afford the €500/month price tag on the legally available Sativex (Oral cannabis spray solution). Green Tea is just 1 example of many people out there right now illegally sourcing or growing cannabis to treat symptoms of serious life threatening conditions. The reason green tea is not using her real name or image is due to fear of being targeted by the authorities for doing the right thing and providing an effective remedy for her partner's life limiting condition. I hope more people find the courage to speak out and highlight the suffering caused by the prohibition of Cannabis. As before she had the private prescription she was having to travel to Holland and illegally smuggle a legally purchased medicine home to help keep her child alive. Murray is now 2 years seizure free thanks to his cannabis medicine and is no longer needing aides such as a protective helmet or wheel chair. More recently Dean Gray , Murray's 13 year old brother hand delivered a letter to the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon asking for the cost of Murrays medicine to be covered by the NHS so the family no longer have to fundraise the £1300/month bill for Murray's medicine. Cannabis prohibition which has made research incredibly difficult over the last 70 years and is why so many patients now are without effective access. I hope after hearing this more people will stand up and call for an end to Cannabis prohibition which causes so much hardship in our society. Thanks again to Karen Gray for joining me and I hope everyone else enjoys the conversation and gets motivated by it. Cannabis prohibition has got to go!!

Jen suffers with severe and debilitating pain & stiffness associated with her Fibromyalgia and also Ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Ankylosing spondylitis is a rare type of arthritis that causes pain and stiffness in your spine. It's a lifelong condition, usually starts in your lower back. It can spread up to your neck or damage joints in other parts of your body. Jen has benefited from using cannabis illegally and since cannabis was medicines have been allowed in Ireland through ministerial license Jen has fought to get an exemption but her consultant will not put in an application for her as the hospital the consultant works in has a policy of not prescribing cannabis for patients suffering with pain. Jen informed her specialist that she has been using cannabis illegally and it benefited her but despite this they were still unwilling to apply. Then on the 16th of April Jen announced she with the Wexford cannabis club would hold a protest in Wexford on 420 to raise awareness of medical cannabis. Then on the 17th Jen received a knock on the door from 2 plain clothes detectives who “advised” her not to go ahead with the protest or they would fine and/or arrest her for doing so. This intimidation at her home by our gardai left Jen with no choice but to cancel the protest out of FEAR that was spread by our gardai. Gardai should not be terrorizing people in their homes nor should they be calling to the door of activists to advise them against protesting. We must remember that it is us who have the power, not the powers that be. Together, we can stand tall, speak with truth and sow the seed of hope." Seed our future produced a great report called 'No Evidence no Crime' and it was written by Guy Coxall, Trev Coleman and Steve Harrison with contributions from Alun Buffy, Phil Monk, Mandy Tusz, Victoria Lenormand and Dr Orfhlaith Campbell. ( https://www.seedourfuture.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/Cannabis-and-the-Law-No-Evidence-No-Crime-MASTER-v1.3.pdf ) Trev was one of the authors to the seed our future report that is challenging the legitimacy of the UK laws around cannabis and only a few weeks ago the police stole his cannabis plants after he had called them because of 4 men breaking into his house. He is now suing the police involved and has requested the following from the which to date have not been provided by the police or UK courts. 1. In this interview I get to have a chat with Allison Littlefair who shares her story with me to help raise awareness of the medicinal benefits of cannabis for people with chronic pain. Having competed in gymnastics from a young age she started to expierience pain in her body at the age of 15 began a long journey of treating pain unsuccessfully with tablets for many years. It was about 5 years ago when she first expierienced the benefits of cannabis and hasn't looked back since. She was so blown away by the benefits cannabis brought to her and the many kids in the UK she has now writen a book called "Walter and the magic seed". (buy a copy here https://www.walterandthemagicseed.com/why-walter ). about the book : "Walter is a Wizard on a mission....to spread education and awareness about the cannabis plant and to help his friend Titch, who is suffering from seizures. Younger and older readers alike will enjoy and learn from Walter and his friend Terrance the Troll as they explore the benefits of cannabis and CBD in the hope of giving Titch the quality of life she deserves. Many children across the globe are having to face life threatening daily battles trying to access the right medication to cope with multiple seizures every day. For so many kids - cannabis is the only medicine that can reduce seizures and in a lot of cases stop the seizures from occurring altogether, without all of the nasty side effects caused by pharmaceutical drugs. Cannabis medications are supposedly legal now here in the Uk, however nobody can or will prescribe it, leaving parents having to break the law and often spend thousands of pounds to gain access from countries where it is legal. Cannabis has been such a taboo topic for many years, despite showing us many of it's healing properties, including significant possibilities in shrinking cancerous tumours as well as anti-inflammatory properties which can help with many different chronic pain conditions. Cannabis can also play a huge part in helping to save our environment if we changed the use of plastics and building materials to cannabis based products, such as hemp based plastic, which breaks down in a fraction of the time of normal plastic. We believe the main way to remove these stigmas associated with the cannabis plant is by educating the next generation on the healing benefits as well as the environmental benefits this plant has to offer and finally speak the truth about cannabis. This is in the hope of helping other families in similar situations access the help they need." With this plantation, considered the first that is not clandestine in Mexico, they pressure the Senate for a law with four characteristics: personal or associated free cultivation, simple free possession, dignified treatment and public spaces for safe, responsible and regulated consumption. “We decided to start this movement of planting and planting ourselves as citizens, as cannabis users and as responsible citizens against a law that clearly does not do justice, that clearly criminalizes, that is clearly useless,” - Pepe Rivera. "Clark French is an MS patient who treats his symptoms with cannabis. Clark has replaced all pharmaceutical drugs saving the NHS up to £30,000 a year. Founder of the United Patients Alliance, Clark campaigns tirelessly for access to cannabis as a medicine. The United Patients alliance seeks to advance legal access to cannabis therapeutics in the UK. The United Patients Alliance was founded to represent the interests of these patients and to call attention to the injustice of prosecuting individuals for treating their chronic conditions with cannabis. Some of the most vulnerable members of our society face up to fourteen years in prison for consuming a medicine that is legal across North America and Europe"
