This week on Parent Tell Kaila relives her Disney Family Trip with the person who will understand the most, Lee Friedman of Mango Tree Travel. Lee is a mom of two and a travel planner! She started Mango Tree Travel with the intent on making travel enjoyable for parents too, not just kids. Travel is a wonderful escape, learning opportunity, and privilege but parents often lose the chance to travel like they did in the pre-kid days. Both Kaila and Lee firmly believe that travel does not stop just because they are now parents. The two moms discuss this, why traveling is important for a growing kiddo, and ways to plan a trip that maximizes both little and big people enjoyment.Check out Mango Tree Travel on Instagram for tips on making traveling with kids easier and more fun.Follow Parent Tell on InstagramSupport Parent Tell on PatreonSend Kaila an email with your parenting story at parenttellpod@gmail.com

Roxana and Kaila talk at length about the pressures they felt to to name (or in some cases, NOT name) their babies a certain name, why naming an entire human being gives them the anxiety sweats, how growing up with an often mispronounced name effects the thoughts that go into naming your own kiddo, and how important it is to put some respect on a person's name and get.it.right. Follow Parent Tell on InstagramSupport Parent Tell on PatreonSend Kaila an email with your parenting story at parenttellpod@gmail.com

For those who haven't yet guessed it or are unaware, a rainbow baby is the term for a baby born after experiencing a loss. The rainbow after the storm clouds, so to speak. Rhiannon was kind enough to share her miscarriage and rainbow pregnancy experiences with Kaila and the two moms talk at length about the anxiety that naturally comes with being pregnant after loss, how many pregnant people choose to wait longer before sharing their news, as well as why we all just have to keep sharing our stories to de-stigmatize "uncomfortable" topics and continue to carve that safe space for ourselves and others.Follow Parent Tell on InstagramSupport Parent Tell on PatreonSend Kaila an email with your parenting story at parenttellpod@gmail.com

Emily tells the story of how she found out her infant daughter was reacting poorly to what Emily was eating (ahh the magic and science of breastfeeding) and what it's been like to become an advocate for your kid at doctor's appointments, especially when it seems like the doctors you are trying to rely on just aren't understanding what it means to not be able to consume three common food ingredients.Support Parent Tell on PatreonFollow on Instagram

This week's episode, the last one before Parent Tell takes a short break for most of the summer, is a solo episode with just Kaila! Almost a solo Babysode, if you will, Kaila airs her grievances with those who seem to look down on motherhood and think that your life is just utterly ruined and completely over when you become a parent (so NOT true). While trying not to be too ranty and ravy Kaila points out the assumptions that many in society choose to make about parents, mostly moms, when in reality harmful judgements and comments are simply projections from the person who is saying them. Brene Brown seriously had it right when she said that we should lead with curiosity instead of judgement. For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting? This week on Parent Tell Kaila discusses secondary infertility with Kyla. Kyla had an extremely easy time getting pregnant with her now 6 year old, but when it came time to try and conceive a second child she was met with extreme roadblocks. Kyla explains her experience with fibroids and how it ultimately meant that she would not be having a second child. Kaila and Kyla talk about acceptance, intrusive comments from strangers, and how finding community can help you feel supported in whatever your fertility journey looks like. Kyla Saphir is a mother, yoga instructor, early childhood educator, and the author of the new children's book On Brighter Days. She lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband, 6 year old daughter, and their wild dog, Nia.The inspiration for the book, On Brighter Days, came from Kyla's personal experience with secondary infertility. She is the youngest of five children in her family and wanted her daughter to have siblings as well but it wasn't possible. When she looked for books for her daughter to read about their experience, the bookshelves were empty.  Kyla is passionate about high quality children's literature and so she and her daughter decided to write their own book addressing these feelings for other parents and only children! To sign up for The Postpartum Body Solution-Group Coaching Program click here! For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting? This week's episode of Parent Tell finds Kaila discussing interior design, specifically for nurseries and kids' rooms, with Naomi Coe. Naomi Coe is the founder of Little Crown Interiors and author of the nursery design book, Your Perfect Nursery. She founded Little Crown Interiors in 2008, focusing her design studio on nurseries and child spaces after seeing this specialized skill missing from other firms.  Bringing together beauty, functionality and safety, Naomi believes in creating spaces for her clients that are unique, intentional and curated. Kaila and Naomi have a thorough discussion about how overwhelmed most parents feel about turning one of their bedrooms into a baby's room, how little babies actually need in their nursery, and how social media has turned interior design into some perfection competition that none of us will ever win (nor should we really be striving to). While Kaila and Naomi talk about wanting items that grow with the child and the importance of safety, they also touch on the privilege that naturally comes with being able to afford luxury baby items and an interior designer in the first place. Little Crown Interiors offers full nursery and kid's interior design services for clients in Southern California, and E-Design services for anyone in the U.S. or Canada. Over the last 14+ years, LCI's work has been featured widely in print, web and on television including Domino, People Magazine, California Home & Design Magazine, and many more.To sign up for The Postpartum Body Solution-Group Coaching Program click here! For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting? Kids' Music Kinda Sucks, Let's Change That

This week on Parent Tell Kaila talks about revamping kids music with Jeff Fajans, a creative coach and musician. Jeff decided to write and produce his own children's music albums after realizing that what was already out there just wasn't cutting it. Using the name Mrboodaddy (because who said our AIM names would never come in handy in our adult lives), Jeff has created a new style of music for kids that is edgy, relatable, and also doesn't make parents want to immediately insert some earplugs. Kaila and Jeff have an important discussion, where they kinda sorta bash the "traditional" kids' music, sorry not sorry, Little Miss Muffet, but also discuss that this new style of music goes deeper than just proclaiming a toddler's love for trash trucks. Millennial parents are focused on respecting their children as individuals and want to reach them creatively and encourage them to relate to the world around them.  Empowering children + giving them the respect that many of us who grew up with Baby Boomer parents didn't necessarily get until later in life, if at all = Big Millennial Parent Energy.Jeff Fajans is a creative performance & leadership coach who works with creators and entrepreneurs to help them bring their biggest ideas to life and become better leaders. He serves on the Board of Advisors at Oasis Center International - a non-profit whose mission is to bring creativity and arts mentorship programs to underserved youth across the world. His mission is to help 1 million people bring their biggest ideas to life through his coaching, teaching, and advocacy of creativity.  Jeff is also an avid music creator & guitar player - creating a new style of “Beastie Boys for Babies” kids music that captures the authentic, wild ride of parents and their little kids experiencing the world together. He's a Dad to an energetic 3 1/2 year old boy named Hendrix, and has been married to his amazing wife, Katherine, for over 5 years.Jeff's IGMrboodaddy IG
