But the laughs don't stop there. We also delve into some wild news stories that you won't believe. From a New Zealand mayor's colorful response to a constituent to a bald eagle that was too fat to fly, the absurdity is off the charts. And speaking of absurdity, we can't forget the bizarre tale of RFK Jr. and his whale head adventure. Yes, you read that right—whale head adventure. As if that wasn't enough, we also discuss the recent theft of a "Jaws of Life" tool during a rescue operation and the mind-boggling story of a school worker who stole $1.5 million worth of chicken wings. #blcpodcast #podcastingforthepeople #funny #podcast #greenvillesc #scpodcast #yeahthatgreenville Listen at: https://blc.world/ Tweet the Show: https://twitter.com/blcworld Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/blcpodcast/ Check us out on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blcpodcast/ Buy Fred and Allan Beer: https://www.patreon.com/blcworld

Let's celebrate my, Mama Sareena, birthday together! Join us as I get a little deeper than usual and learn what made me the woman and mother I am today. We show up every week for the passed two years... and maybe you have been joining us the whole time or you are new but we wanted to bring our relationship to the next step by getting to know each other a little more intimately. I think many of us have some sort of childhood trauma and when we can relate to ones experience, there grows a trust or understanding of each other. Today is a solo episode that goes over the parenting stories and discoveries that I have uncovered over the many years I have been a mom, but mostly over the past few weeks. Being vulnerable and sharing stories is quite honestly, the best way to learn. I have had a rough few weeks with my kids, by just being challenged by them and tested by what I have learned and looked at over the course of my growth. I asked the Universe for help and low and behold every podcast I usually listen to, seemed to have a parenting theme. All the words spoken were essentially guided to my ears and I wanted to share it with you all. Here is a list of podcasts and books I have used for these specific resources:-Intuitive Astrology with Molly McCord-Sex w/ Emily Podcast "How to Raise Good Humans w/ Dr. Aliza Pressman-Raising Good Humans with Dr. Aliza Pressman "How to Become a Better Listener & Strengthen your Connections with your Kids w/ Lori Gottlieb-Huberman Lab Podcast "Dr. Becky Kennedy: Protocols for Excellent Parenting & Improving Relationships of All Kinds- "Good Inside" written by Becky Kennedy- "Atlas of the Heart" by Brene Brown- "Parenting with Love and Logic" by Foster Cline- "The Transformative Power of Crisis: Our Journey to Psychological Healing & Spiritual Awakening" by Robert & Jane Alter@therealandiethueson-Human Design@thebeekeepersgranddaughter-Tallow LotionThanks for letting me share these stories. I hope it resonates. I appreciate you all so damn much. Cheers to this wild journey of parenting. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093675452578instagram.com/theenlightenedlensinstagram.com/averieraetiktok.com/@theenlightenedlens

EP 228: Parenting Stories: Making Faith a Natural & Intentional Part of Kids' Everyday Lives Hello, No Problem parents! Welcome to another Self-Care Sunday. How do you spark your kids' interest in faith?' I believe it starts by making faith not just a thing we do but a joy we live out and model for our kids. Today I'll share four short examples/stories of how my clients have intentionally incorporated their faith into their parenting. From church traditions to meditation practices, creating calm intentional faith based foundation for their kids – each parent has paved the way for their kids to naturally become curious and interested in exploring their faith and connection to God or a higher power. As you listen, I hope these stories spark ideas and inspiration for your own parenting journey. Flashback Episode of The Dadlands Podcast with Jamie Kaler. This Week's Guest: Ted Mattison (Justified, American Horror Story)Remember those carefree days before parenting, filled with wild adventures and spontaneous trips? Jamie and I certainly do, and in this chat with Ted Mattson, we reflect on the transformative journeys we've had, from Burning Man to cabin retreats in Northern Minnesota, and how these experiences have shaped us as parents. Now, known as Ranger Ted, our friend Ted is encouraging families to reclaim that sense of adventure with his organization, wonderoutside.org, one hike at a time.As we venture with Ranger Ted through the wilderness of parenting and outdoor adventures, we reminisce about our own journeys and explore the importance of stepping out into the unknown. Whether that's a canoe trip in Alaska, a close brush with disaster on an Idaho river, or simply exploring the wild corners of Los Angeles, it's all about reconnecting with our resilient and curious selves. It's not just about keeping the children occupied; it's about rediscovering our own sense of wonder, too.But this is more than just a trip down memory lane or a love letter to the great outdoors. Our conversation also touches on the pressures of modern sports culture and the role of parental coaching, the stories from Ted's journey as an exchange student in Japan to his battle with cancer. We're not just talking about the great outdoors here; we're exploring the wild, unpredictable, and awe-inspiring journey called life. Tune in and let us, along with Ranger Ted, guide you through the trails and tribulations, the laughter and the stories, as we celebrate the great adventure that is parenthood. You can catch more of Ted Mattison on Instagram at:https://www.instagram.com/tedmattison/You can catch The Parent's Lounge live every Tuesday Night at 10pm EST/7pm PST at:https://www.facebook.com/theparentslounge#theparentslounge #tedmattison #wonderoutside #justified #parentingpodcast #jamiekaler #jasongowin #katemulligan #comedians #parentingadvice #funnyparents #hilarious #americanhorrorstory #parentingstoriesJamie Kaler's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jamiekaler/Jason Gowin's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jasongowin/Kate Mulligan's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/katestmomever/The Parent's Lounge TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@theparentsloungeshow

This week's episode of Parent Tell is a powerful one and discusses one mom's experience with finding out her daughter would be born with some sort of developmental delay and the fight she fights every single day to do what she needs to do for her daughter. Angela's daughter was born with DiGeorge Syndrome, a disorder caused when a small part of chromosome 22 is missing. This deletion results in the poor development of several body systems. Medical problems commonly associated with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome include heart defects, poor immune system function, a cleft palate, complications related to low levels of calcium in the blood, and delayed development with behavioral and emotional problems. The number and severity of symptoms associated with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome vary. However, almost everyone with this syndrome needs treatment from specialists in a variety of fields.Angela's story is powerful, as it showcases exactly what moms are willing to do, and what they go through, in order to be there for their children and give them what they need.Follow Parent Tell on InstagramSupport Parent Tell on PatreonSend Kaila an email with your parenting story at parenttellpod@gmail.com

This week on Parent Tell Kaila sat down with Roxana, a mom to a beautiful baby girl and also the skilled esthetician who waxes Kaila's caterpillar eyebrows every month. The two moms became fast friends after bonding over how freaking stressful it was to name their children, and so that's what this juicy episode entails. Roxana and Kaila talk at length about the pressures they felt to to name (or in some cases, NOT name) their babies a certain name, why naming an entire human being gives them the anxiety sweats, how growing up with an often mispronounced name effects the thoughts that go into naming your own kiddo, and how important it is to put some respect on a person's name and get.it.right. This week on Parent Tell, Kaila chats with another honest mum from across the pond, Rebecca Oxtoby. Rebecca is an award-winning British author. Her book series, Mum's The Word, has won Best Gift for Mum at the Project Baby Awards 2021, and documents life with a newborn, in all its sh*t-stained glory. Rebecca's books speak truthfully about new mum life, post-natal depression, and the expectations of motherhood vs reality. Obviously a match made in mom friend heaven, Kaila and Rebecca talk at length about the importance of being honest when it comes to tackling motherhood (also toddlerhood, WOOF), navigating relationships and friendships while parenting, and being vulnerable enough to put their brutally honest thoughts and feelings out there for the world to consume. In a society that somehow STILL expects birthing people and parents to put on a happy face 24/7 and only talk of the sunshine and rainbows of raising humans, it's as vital as ever that people like Kaila and Rebecca continue to lead with honesty and inclusivity.Rebecca supports other mums through her Instagram page @BookMumstheWord and both of her books, Mum's The Word: The Sh*t Nobody Tells You About Parenthood Until It's Too Late and Mum's The Word 2: It's All Sh*ts And Giggles are available on Amazon and Good Reads. To sign up for The Postpartum Body Solution-Group Coaching Program click here! For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting? On this week's episode of Parent Tell, she's a Babysode! Kaila and Jimmy are aiming to be more consistent with delivering Babysodes to the Parent Tell Fam, and they are starting off strong with an episode that challenged them (and listeners) to describe parenting using only one word. Using just one word to talk about the most transformational part of your life is not simple and Kaila and Jimmy discuss just that while reading out the words others chose to define parenthood. This week on Parent Tell, Kaila welcomes Sarah Salisott onto the show to talk about fostering, the foster care system, adoption, and all the trauma that comes with it. Kaila and Sarah hit it off immediately and it's pretty clear that the two moms highly value the real (sometimes uncomfortable) truth when it comes to children, parenting, and processing the trauma involved with all of the above. Sarah is a certified parent coach who uses her skills to help foster, adoptive, and biological families and while chatting with Kaila about what it takes to become a foster parent, Sarah doesn't hesitate to spell out exactly what a person's intentions should be when deciding to foster. If you are unfamiliar with the foster care system and want to know more in order to increase your understanding, this episode is exactly what you need to hear.About the Guest: Sarah Salisott is a Certified Parent Coach whose passion is helping families with children who have experienced trauma or struggle with attachment. She started The Foster Lane Parent Coaching in 2016. Her goal is to use coaching to help others avoid some of the parenting challenges her own family faced. The Foster Lane on Instagram
This week, Kaila talks with an anonymous guest about her experience growing up in, and then leaving, a high control fundamentalist church. This episode came to be because Kaila was posting about cults on the Parent Tell Instagram, and not only did numerous people respond saying that they too are fascinated with learning about cults and how they operate, a Parent Tell listener contacted Kaila saying she was open to talking about her experience and how it shapes how she parents now as a mother herself. This episode is an eye opener for those of us who did not grow up in extremely controlling environments, but also sets a great example of what overcoming your fears and rising above looks like. Enjoy. For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting? This week's episode is a cute lil' babysode! Okay it's on the longer side so it's more like a toddler-sode? Sure. Jimmy, Kaila's husband, is back in this babysode all about the wild life and times we had as kids in the 80s and 90s. Your fave mom and dad discuss the quintessential quirks of growing up in the last bits of the 20th century and reflect on whether their son will get to experience any of the classics such as memorizing his friends phone numbers or being left alone at home with strict instructions to not answer the phone, door, or turn on the oven. It's always fun to reminisce on what the world was like when you were a child, and having your own child only adds to that. We laugh at our dial up internet and our wind breaker pants, and eventually our children will look back on the days of TikTok and matching family holiday pjs with the same amusement. For more information about Kaila, episode topics and behind the scenes details, and of course painfully relatable memes follow Parent Tell on InstagramIn the mood to tell about your parenting?
