If you've been told to post more, show up more, and be everywhere, this episode is your permission slip to stop treating visibility like the goal. Visibility matters, especially early, but if you're still hustling for every sale years in, it starts to feel like a treadmill that never switches off.We unpack the shift from visibility to positioning using a simple lighthouse test, plus a real example of what it looks like when a buyer arrives already warm, already trusting you, and basically already sold. No chasing, no convincing, no heavy lifting. You'll hear the core building blocks that move you from being seen to being chosen, and the mindset shift that makes it stick. If sales feels harder than it should, or you keep attracting the wrong clients, this will help you figure out what's actually going on and where to start.LINKSTracy Rudich, Initmo: https://www.instagram.com/tracy.rudich Emma McQueen:Website: https://tea-with-the-queen.captivate.fm/websiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/August Go-Getter Event in Brisbane: https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-brisbane/June Go-Getter Event in Melbourne:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-day/BD Sprint:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/coaching-services/bd-sprint/Mentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - InstagramTracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

If you're burnt out as a leader, it's probably not because you're lazy or disorganised. It's because you keep picking up “monkeys” that were never yours to carry, and you've slowly become the bottleneck while everyone else clocks out at 5.If you've been trying to figure out how to delegate without losing control or feeling like you're abandoning your team, this is for you.In this episode, I share the simple question that changes everything, plus the mindset shift that stops you rescuing and teaches you how to delegate effectively. It's about keeping ownership where it belongs, while still supporting your team with clarity and rhythm so things actually move.We also talk about why being clear is kind, and how unclear expectations ruin your ability to learn how to delegate successfully, creating frustration, performance issues, and awkward conversations later. You'll hear what intentional leadership looks like in real life, including the regular conversations that prevent surprises and help your team grow without drama. If you care deeply about your people but you're tired of carrying everything, this one will land. If you're somewhere between $100k and $500k in revenue and thinking, “Why does this feel harder now?”, welcome to the messy middle of business. You're not in the startup phase anymore, but you're also not running a calm, well oiled machine. Things are working… but they're also not working. In this season, the chaos isn't a sign you're failing. It's feedback. More clients, more moving parts, more expectations, and suddenly the cracks show. You drop balls, your calendar becomes a mess, and the old strategies that used to work stop feeling reliable. We'll talk about the sneaky pipeline drought that hits right after a strong quarter, why undercharging becomes obvious in this phase, and how “doing everything yourself” turns into the biggest bottleneck. This is also where mindset matters, because growth can mess with your confidence even when revenue is rising. If you're in the messy middle of business, here are your next steps: keep the pipeline warm, price for outcomes, delegate one draining task, and know your numbers (profit, not just revenue). The messy middle isn't permanent, but it does require a new way of operating.Mentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - InstagramTracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

Hiring is one of those business milestones that sounds simple until you're the one doing it, and because most of us aren't hiring every week, it's easy to second guess yourself, delay it, or rush it when you're already exhausted. In this episode, we're talking about why so many women put hiring off for too long, what hiring fear really looks like in a growing business, and why “I'll just keep doing it myself” quietly becomes the most expensive option.I'm sharing what I've learned from sitting on every side of the hiring table, from recruiter to HR Director to coach, and the patterns I see over and over when business owners start hiring. We'll unpack the real cost of a bad hire (it's not just money), and why messy hiring decisions tend to leak into your time, your energy, your confidence, and your team. You'll also hear the simple hiring framework I come back to when I want hiring to feel calm and commercial: getting clear on what to delegate, writing a position description that actually attracts the right person, hiring for skill and will, and building a basic interview process and onboarding plan so you're not winging it. If hiring has been sitting on your to do list for months, this is your nudge to stop overthinking and start getting clear.LINKSEmma McQueen:Website: https://tea-with-the-queen.captivate.fm/websiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/August Go-Getter Event in Brisbane: https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-brisbane/June Go-Getter Event in Melbourne:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-day/BD Sprint:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/coaching-services/bd-sprint/Mentioned in this episode:Style BundleInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/style_bundle/Style BundleStyle BundleInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/style_bundle/

Ever feel like you're sprinting through the week, ticking every box, and still going nowhere? This episode is for the high-performing business women who are doing a lot, moving fast, and quietly feeling flat. This year I picked a word: intentional. Which sounds simple, until you realise it means slowing down long enough to hear yourself think, and pausing before you say yes just because you can.I'm sharing what I'm practising instead, like tiny moments of silence between meetings, quiet walks and sleeping on decisions so I stop reacting at lightning speed. It has changed how I lead my business. If you've been wondering how to escape the productivity trap, take one small step this week. This one's for the business owners who keep buying the blueprint. The “proven” content plan or the foolproof sales script. The morning routine that apparently turns you into a millionaire by Thursday. You see it work for someone else and you think, cool, I'll just do that. Easy.Except you try it and it feels like you're wearing shoes that don't fit. They look great on, and you technically can walk in them, but every step is uncomfortable, forced, and annoying.I'm sharing a few simple client examples that show how one small change in process can make content feel easy and sound like you again, plus how to use “forced vs flow” as data instead of a reason to beat yourself up. We'll also unpack the sneaky danger of business “shoulds” and why doing less can sometimes create more traction.Listen in, then ask yourself this. This one's personal. A “minor” ankle injury forced me to stop, and I didn't realise how much I rely on my regulators (walking and running) to keep steady until it was suddenly gone. While I was benched, I also had a routine skin check, and it brought up more emotion than I expected after last year's melanoma. I told myself it was fine, filed it away, and kept going. Then I jumped on a call with Serena, my sister and business manager, and one simple question opened the floodgates. In this episode, I'm talking about what happens when your “regulator” gets taken away, why stress can stack up quietly until you feel flat and heavy, and how to find your way back without needing some big dramatic reset. I'll also give you a few questions to help you spot your early warning signs, protect the thing that keeps you well, and make sure you've got someone in your corner who won't let “I'm fine” be the end of the conversation.LINKSEmma McQueen:Website: https://tea-with-the-queen.captivate.fm/websiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/August Go-Getter Event in Brisbane: https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-brisbane/June Go-Getter Event in Melbourne:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-day/Mentioned in this episode:Style BundleInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/style_bundle/Style BundleStyle BundleInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/style_bundle/

Overcoming self-doubt isn't about thinking positive thoughts and hoping they stick. It's about challenging the stories you've been telling yourself and checking whether there's any real evidence behind them. In this episode, I'm sharing a moment from a Go-Getter Day in Brisbane that perfectly captured how quickly we turn one experience into a fixed identity.A woman sat down and told me, “I'm not very good at sales.” Instead of agreeing (or trying to pep talk her), I asked one simple question: “What's your evidence?” Her evidence was one sales call and that call led to a proposal and a sale. One call. One proposal. One sale. A 100% conversion rate… yet her story was still self-doubt.This is what so many of us do in business: we base our identity on tiny data sets. We treat a lack of reps as a lack of ability. We confuse discomfort with incompetence. And then we stop before we've even collected enough evidence to know what we're capable of.Mentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - InstagramTracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

Everyday kindness has a way of finding you when you least expect it. In this episode, I'm sharing a story that wasn't planned — but it became a lesson I couldn't keep to myself. A few weeks ago, I fell into a gap on a dark street and landed awkwardly on rocks… just hours before I was due to fly to Brisbane for our first Go-Getters Day.I still got on the plane (because sometimes you don't get perfect conditions — you just keep moving). But what happened next surprised me: everyday kindness showed up everywhere. I was reminded that kindness is alive and well — and it matters more than we realise. This episode is also a gentle nudge about support. So many women are high-functioning, capable, and used to pushing through… but there's a point where “I can handle it” becomes “I refuse to be supported.” And that's not strength — it's a habit. If you've been feeling stretched, tired, or like you're carrying too much alone, let this be your reminder: you don't have to do it all the hard way.Emma McQueen:BD Sprint:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/coaching-services/bd-sprint/WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelAugust Go-Getter Event in Brisbane: https://emmamcqueen.com.au/events/go-getter-brisbane/Mentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - InstagramTracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

What really makes a business retreat powerful? In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of our Crowned for Success Retreat inside the Thriving Women Program and sharing what actually creates transformation when women come together in the right space. It's not just the beautiful setting, the thoughtful details, or the polished photos. It's what happens when women finally have room to slow down, reflect, and hear themselves think.I talk about why retreats matter so much for women in business, especially when life and work are already full. We cover the importance of creating space, building real connection, and helping women find clarity around what matters most in their business. I also share why simplifying your offers, protecting your energy, and stepping away from the noise can create more momentum than constantly doing more. This episode also goes into the unexpected magic of play, surprise, and shared experiences. From strategy sessions to a scavenger hunt around Melbourne, I reflect on how laughter, honesty, and community can create breakthroughs that a standard workshop simply can't. What do our children learn from us when we're not even trying to teach them? In this episode, I share the moment my 12-year-old daughter started her own business, complete with a Canva brochure and letterbox drop strategy, and why it stopped me in my tracks. It was one of those moments that made me realise just how much our kids are watching, absorbing, and learning from the way we live. This conversation goes deeper than parenting. It's about conscious living, the patterns we pass on, and the environments we create at home, in business, and in our relationships. I reflect on a simple sleepover tradition, a small moment of gratitude that hit me harder than expected, and what these experiences revealed about belonging, safety, and the kind of life I want to model. What are you consciously modelling in your life right now? Because the small things matter more than we think and sometimes the biggest lessons come from the people watching us most closely.BD Sprint:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/coaching-services/bd-sprint/WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

In this episode, I'm talking about one simple phrase that has completely shifted the way I think about generosity, boundaries, and leadership in business: commit to the committed. As women in business, we are often generous by nature. We want to help, support, encourage, and open doors for others. But when that generosity isn't paired with clear boundaries, it can leave us exhausted and overextended. In this video, I share why protecting your energy is not selfish; it's essential for sustainable business growth.I also take a look at how commitment changes results, why boundaries create better outcomes, and how to recognise the people who are truly ready to do the work. If you're building a business and want to stop chasing, over-giving, or carrying people who aren't meeting you halfway, I hope this episode helps you.Emma McQueen:BD Sprint:https://emmamcqueen.com.au/coaching-services/bd-sprint/WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Tracey Rudich - Intimo - InstagramTracey Rudich - Intimo - Instagram

We'll talk about why relying on a single offer is risky, how I structure my core offers, and what I recommend if you want to create multiple income streams without ending up with constant overwhelm.I also share how I think about multiple streams of income beyond the business, including building wealth through property, shares, and ETFs, and why I never wanted my personal financial security tied only to my ability to show up and work. I didn't think I could learn leadership lessons in business from Taylor Swift…how wrong I was. I went to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour as a mum (and a proud Swiftie) with my 12-year-old daughter, expecting glitter, sing-alongs, and a fun night out. What I didn't expect was to walk out thinking: Oh. That's what leadership looks like at scale. In this episode, I share the leadership lessons in business I took from the Eras Tour and the documentary that followed. We're talking about protecting your energy like it's an asset, leading as a guide (not the loudest voice in the room), and why kindness isn't weakness when it's paired with strategy. I also unpack what it really means to curate your community and scale without losing the thing that makes people trust you in the first place. If you're building a business and you've been feeling stretched, overbooked, or like you're carrying too much alone, this one will land. Referrals have been the secret ingredient in my business for years, and they're one of the easiest ways to get new clients. If you've ever wondered how some businesses always seem to have a steady stream of new clients whilst others are left scrambling, it's rarely about having the flashiest website or biggest ad spend—the real magic happens through word-of-mouth. According to Nielsen, 92% of consumers trust recommendations from friends and family more than any other advertising method. In this episode, I share how I keep referrals flowing year after year by building real relationships rather than just collecting business cards. You'll discover why consistency is everything when it comes to being referable, the importance of going the extra mile with handwritten thank-you notes and follow-up calls, and why you shouldn't be shy about actually asking for referrals when you've done great work.I break down my complete 8-step referrals strategy that I've refined over the years, covering everything from identifying your key referrers and setting up tracking systems to creating personalised touchpoint plans and building a community of advocates. This isn't about hoping referrals happen by accident—it's about creating an intentional, systematic approach to nurturing the relationships that will make your business flourish!Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

Business is unpredictable by nature, but what happens at home can either steady you or slowly drain you. I had a moment at a dinner table recently where I realised something that's become true for me: when my relationship is solid, I can handle whatever my business throws at me, because stability at home is an anchor. We talk about why women who thrive in business often have one of two things: real support at home, or the ability to block out tension. And blocking out tension isn't free, it costs energy, focus, and confidence. I share a client example of a high-earning business that was still being treated like a “hobby” at home, and how everything shifted once expectations, boundaries, and the business's role in the family were made clear.Domestic imbalance is still a thing, and it's exhausting. The mental load, the school admin, the appointments, the birthdays, the groceries, the logistics, the caring for everyone, while also being expected to contribute financially like a CEO. Equality doesn't happen by hoping, and why the uncomfortable conversations at home are often the ones that unlock more capacity in business. You'll also get practical ways to start rebalancing without burning your life down: clarify what your business contributes, make the invisible mental load visible, renegotiate one area at a time, and let other people own tasks without micromanaging the process.I also mention a tool that can help couples divide responsibilities more fairly: Fair Play Cards. Because you shouldn't have to choose between business success and a home life that works.Fair Play CardsEmma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Contact Tracy Via InstagramThanks to Tracy Rudich at Intimo for sponsoring Tea With The Queen. Obligation doesn't usually kick the door down; it slips in quietly and starts rearranging your life. This episode unpacks how tiny social rules and unspoken expectations can slowly take over your calendar, your energy, and the way you run your business, without you even noticing. You'll hear my “polite ghosting” story and why leaving a party doesn't need to be a full production just because other people want one more drink, one more story, one more moment. It's not about being rude; it's about protecting your rhythm and refusing to negotiate your peace for someone else's comfort. We talk about resentment as useful data, not a personality flaw. If you've been feeling snappy, heavy, or secretly dreading things you “should” be fine with, this is a sign your boundaries are being crossed. You'll learn how to do an obligation audit, spot what you defaulted into, and start making cleaner choices without over-explaining yourself.Obligation in business is expensive, from underpricing to scope creep to unpaid “quick questions” that drain your creativity. Expect pushback when you stop being convenient, but remember this: you're not here to be endlessly available, you're here to live true to your energy and your life's work. Expectations are sneaky. They sit in the background of your life and business, shaping how you measure progress, success, and even your own worth. When reality doesn't match the picture in your head, it can turn a good season into disappointment, even when things are objectively going well. This episode explores the expectations we inherit and the ones we quietly create for ourselves, from how we imagine life will look to how we think business “should” feel. It covers how unchecked expectations can make wins feel like failures, and why it's so common to feel behind when you're actually moving forward. You'll also hear practical ways to manage expectations without lowering your standards, including naming them, checking whether they fit your current season, and making success scalable with a good, better, best approach. The goal isn't to stop having expectations, it's to update them so they support your reality instead of adding pressure.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Contact Tracy Via InstagramThanks to Tracy Rudich at Intimo for sponsoring Tea With The Queen. Fear of public speaking can hold you back in business, even when you know your work is solid. This episode shares practical tools to build confidence in speaking so you can communicate clearly on client calls, in meetings, on video, or on stage. It covers how clarity creates confidence, how to choose one core message as your anchor, and why courage matters more than perfection when you're finding your voice. You'll also get simple ways to practise your message, reduce overthinking, and build stronger communication skills through repetition and a supportive community. If you had one minute to speak to the world, what would you say? That's your starting point. You know that month where you've delivered the work, the invoices are out, the client is thrilled and suddenly… silence? You check your bank account. It's not panic. But it's close. That, my friend, is the feast and famine cycle and it's exhausting, financially and mentally. In this episode, we're talking recurring revenue in a real-life way, not a “make money while you sleep” way, because predictable income is what takes you out of survival mode and puts you back in the driver's seat. We'll break down what recurring revenue actually is, why it changes how you lead and why it gives you more headspace than you expect. I'll share what shifted for me when I moved from one-off work into a membership model, plus a client example that shows how recurring revenue can be built with way less chaos than constant launching. We'll also talk about the part people skip: you can't just make something “monthly” and hope it works. Recurring revenue comes from ongoing value, clear deliverables and a rhythm that supports both you and your clients. And if you want to scale it, we'll touch on why selling to organisations can be a game changer, and how recurring revenue lets you plan, invest and lead like a CEO instead of patching holes every month.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Contact Tracy Via InstagramThanks to Tracy Rudich at Intimo for sponsoring Tea With The Queen. Today we're chatting about a chapter in our lives that often gets swept under the rug, despite its monumental impact. We don't hear enough about perimenopause and business, even though so many of us are navigating both simultaneously. I'm sharing my personal story, starting with my mum's misdiagnosis at 37, then my own perimenopause diagnosis at the same age after multiple miscarriages. Now at 48, I've spent 11 years in this perimenopausal whirlwind, experiencing hot sweats, mood swings and everything in between.Perimenopause is like riding an unpredictable wave that hits how we live and work. Hormones upend our routines, but business insists on plugging along. I'll walk you through how perimenopause and business collide, why showing up doesn't mean pretending everything's normal and how to craft a new normal that respects where your body and mind are right now. You'll hear why flexibility isn't optional when navigating perimenopause and business and why some days you're firing on all cylinders whilst other days you're just getting through.I'll also talk about the support we need from our partners who bear the brunt of this rollercoaster alongside us, and why despite all the havoc, we still show up and shine. If you're knee-deep in perimenopause or menopause, remember you're part of a massive tribe of women who've walked this path before you. The conversation around perimenopause and business is growing, and the more we share our experiences, the easier it becomes for the women coming after us.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Contact Tracy Via InstagramThanks to Tracy Rudich at Intimo for sponsoring Tea With The Queen. I love sales. There, I said it. I genuinely, wholeheartedly love it, not just tolerate it because I have to. My love affair with sales started at 11 years old with a plastic table on my driveway, selling cordial and icy poles. That spark never faded, and this year I've embraced it fully, creating structures that teach sales for women in a way that feels authentic and natural, free of that salesy ick. Today I'm sharing my journey and why sales sits at the centre of every successful business. This year has been massive for us. The BD Sprint, originally intended as a simple challenge, transformed into a powerful programme that broke records and reshaped our approach. Participants saw their networks expanding with new connections, phone calls, meetings and ultimately, sales. The challenge proved that women are eager to learn sales techniques that align with their strengths, and when given the right tools, women kill it at sales. I'll walk you through why so many women struggle with sales, why it's not their fault and how we're flipping the script. At its core, sales for women is about connecting, building trust, and supporting one another, not pressure. I'll share why traditional sales methods overlook women's natural strengths, how the BD Sprint and 100 No's Challenge celebrate women's unique selling style, and why I'm writing a book to dismantle the myths around sales. Remember this: selling is not about manipulation; it's ultimately about service and connection. And it can be your superpower in business if you let it.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Contact Tracy Via InstagramThanks to Tracy Rudich at Intimo for sponsoring Tea With The Queen. As we wrap up the year, I'm taking you through an honest reflection of what life and business brought me. The good, the challenging, the messy and the magic. Life and business rarely move in straight lines. They weave together, influence each other and shape who we become. Today I'm sharing my own reflection in the hope that you can reflect on your year as well.I'm walking you through life first, the beautiful moments and the tough ones. This year brought a wonderful family trip to New York and Canada, moving into our eco-friendly dream house, and my bonus daughter getting engaged. But it also brought losing my beloved 16-year-old dog Spency, a cancer diagnosis with two surgeries, and landing in emergency the night before hosting a 75-women event. Then we'll talk business: the wins, the challenges and what nearly broke me, including why a 12-week launch was simply too much.I'll share the biggest learnings from this year, from prioritising systems over speed to the irreplaceable magic of face-to-face connections. And because I love a good practical reflection, I'll share a simple ritual you can use to close out your own year with clarity and intention. Grab a cup of tea, a piece of paper, and let's reflect on the year together.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Sponsor the ShowCall for Sponsors

I love a good declutter. If I'm stressed, there's nothing like removing the household clutter to make my mind feel at ease. The same goes for removing business clutter. It shows up as old habits, outdated systems and clients who just aren't aligned. Subscriptions you've forgotten about, anyone? If you want new results in your business, you need to create space for them to land. Decluttering is truly about who you can become once the clutter is gone. You can't welcome the next version of your business whilst clinging onto the past. Ask yourself: What feels heavy? What no longer serves you? Clearing space isn't about giving up but preparing yourself for what's ahead. As the year winds down, it's the perfect time to pause, reflect and take intentional stock. Ask yourself, what would feel lighter if I let it go? What clutter has quietly been holding me back?Key Takeaways:Business clutter shows up as old habits, outdated systems and misaligned clientsMental clutter includes the endless 'shoulds' and decisions you keep dodgingYou can't welcome the next version of your business whilst clinging to the pastSmall shifts create big changes: cancel subscriptions, update systems, say no to misaligned projectsDecluttering is about preparation, not perfectionIt's time to clean out the clutter, open those windows and make room for the greatness that's coming next.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Sponsor the ShowCall for Sponsors

From the outside, the Thriving Women launch looked like a success. You saw the gorgeous photos at events, the polished content, the celebrations. But behind the scenes, life was happening hard. I'm rolling up my sleeves today and sharing the real story of a 12-week launch: the planning, the pressure, the moments I had to dig super deep and the personal heartache I was carrying whilst still showing up.In this episode, I'm walking you through what really happened during those 12 weeks. You'll hear about why a 12-week launch runway felt exhausting, the layers of strategy and emotional load no one talks about and the unseen curveballs life threw at me while I was orchestrating a major launch. I'll also share why I didn't hit my ambitious numbers despite all the hard work, and what that taught me about effort versus output. If you're ever going to do a launch, or if your last one looked like a success but left you wondering if there's a better way, this episode is for you. I'm sharing the wisdom I'm carrying forward: shorter launch runways, prioritising energy and giving yourself grace when life gets busy. When your launch looks like a success but feels like survival, it's time to reassess.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Sponsor the ShowCall for Sponsors

If your closest friends can't clearly explain what you do, you've got a problem. Recently, a friend who knows my work well, said something that stopped me in my tracks: "Emma, I know you're a business coach for women, but I don't know which women you work with." The realisation hit me like a tonne of bricks. How could I expect people to refer me if even those close to me aren't clear on who I truly help? If people can't easily describe what you do and who you do it for, they can't refer you with confidence. In this episode, I'm sharing why clarity in your business is essential for sparking referrals and opportunities. I take you through a simple experiment to test how clear your message really is. We talk about why simplicity matters more than a polished pitch and how practicing your one-sentence answer can make all the difference. I'll also share why downplaying your work actually makes it harder for people to refer you and the three questions you need to answer to enable your network to champion you.Clarity isn't just about getting noticed, it's about being memorable and letting others speak for you. If you've been wondering why your network isn't sending referrals your way, this episode will show you exactly how to fix it.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube ChannelMentioned in this episode:Sponsor the ShowCall for Sponsors

Recently, I was talking to a client, Anna, who perfectly summed up the feeling of being stuck. "I'm too busy working in my business to actually work on it," she sighed. If that sentiment stops you in your tracks, you're not alone. It's an exciting (yet often daunting) realisation that every growing entrepreneur faces: You've outgrown the hustle of the freelancer mindset. You're not just delivering tasks anymore; it's time to evolve into a CEO, ready to focus on sustainable growth without the burnout. For years, many of us get stuck running on that treadmill. It's always moving, but never quite building the sustainable, profitable business we dreamt of. It becomes less about working smart and more about having work that never ends.I want you to understand though, that this stuck feeling isn't failure. It's a powerful sign that you are ready to stop doing the work and start leading the work. In thie episode, I break down the signs to look out for that will help you establish when it's time to move into a CEO mindset, and why it's an important part of your business growth.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube Channel

Recently, my lovely friend Emma said something that stopped me in my tracks. "Everything you do at the moment is turning to gold." Initially, it made me smile, perhaps even left me feeling a bit chuffed with myself. But then I started wondering if this was truly the narrative I was living by. What if I dared to believe it?I want to explore how the stories we tell ourselves can change our lives and businesses. A single phrase has the power to alter our emotions, actions, and even what we attract. A simple comment from a friend unlocked more courage, creativity, and productivity in me than I've experienced in years. So I invite you to ask: What stories are you telling yourself? Are they fostering growth or holding you back? If, like me, you find yourself in limiting beliefs, I challenge you to declare, just for a week, that everything you touch turns to gold. Notice the shifts in how you approach meetings, proposals, and client interactions. Sometimes, when you decide to believe in something so positively bold, reality has a way of catching up.For more practical tips on reframing your business narrative, check out Chris Helder's bestseller "Useful Belief." I've had a shocker of a week. Yep, the kind where it feels like the universe truly has it in for me. It started with saying goodbye to my beloved 16-year-old Maltese, Spencer, and then things just kept piling on. Turns out, bad things really do come in threes sometimes. In this episode, I share what happened during one of the toughest weeks I've had in a long time and the surprising lessons I learnt about showing up when life gets hard. You'll discover why I chose to host 75 women at our biggest Go-Getters Day ever instead of cancelling, and what that decision taught me about resilience, adaptability and knowing when to push through versus when to pause. If you're in a season that feels overwhelming, this episode is a reminder that you're not alone. It's also a reminder that being human first is always the priority (yes, even over being a business owner!). Are you in the right room? Not the warm, familiar one where everyone knows your name, but the room that makes you squirm because everyone else seems miles ahead of you. When I first started my business, I was earning exactly zero dollars, yet there I was stepping into a business school surrounded by people making hundreds of thousands, even millions. Did I feel out of my depth? Absolutely. Were there tears? Yes, quite a few. But that intimidating room changed me completely. In this episode, I share what I've learnt about the true value of being the small fish in a big pond and why comfort is actually the enemy of growth. You'll discover why if you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room, and how bigger rooms spark bigger ideas. I explore the sweet spot of discomfort where real growth happens and why that queasy feeling when you enter a room is exactly where you need to be.I give you a practical three-step action plan to audit your current rooms, choose stretch over comfort, and find environments that challenge you in the next 90 days. Growth never happens when you're the big fish, so it's time to choose environments that stretch you and illuminate new possibilities. Working with family isn't for everyone, but it's been one of the best decisions I've made for my business (and my personal life). I recently jumped on a call with my sister, Serena, to chat about what it's like behind the scenes at Emma McQueen Ptd Ltd —the perks, the challenges and the crazy in between.Initially, Serena was hesitant to join me. She worried that working together might mess with our personal relationship, especially if things got rocky professionally. Fair concern, really. But once she stepped in, she never looked back—and neither would I want her to. She's the yin to my yang. For anyone considering working with family, traditional performance metrics and rigid boundaries might not apply—and that's perfectly fine. As long as you communicate effectively and understand each other's strengths and areas for improvement, you can create something that works for both professional success and personal satisfaction.I'm incredibly grateful to have Serena by my side, not just as my sister but as a valued and irreplaceable team member. This dynamic isn't for everyone, but for us, it works like a dream. Have you worked with family? What's your experience been like? Whether you're considering it or already doing it, I'd love to hear your stories—they might just help someone else navigate their own family business journey.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube Channel

Hands up if you have time in your diary to do business development. If you do, excellent! But everyone I speak to does not. It always drops to the bottom of the priority list, and here's what I've noticed: people think they're doing business development when they're writing content—they're not. You're creating content, posting regularly, but the sales aren't following. The good news? There's a way to cut through the noise and get straight to what actually works. It's called the Business Development Sprint, and let me tell you, it works. We've run it live several times with participants collectively making over $530,000 in just 10 days—in a market where people are saying "it's hard to sell"! In this episode, I'm walking you through the crucial first two days that can change everything. You'll discover why marketing isn't sales, how to carve out that crucial hour daily for actual relationship building, and the simple paper-and-pen exercise that maps your client journey from cold to sold.I share my exact nurturing sequence and why your client journey needs 10-13 touchpoints before clients buy from you. We're not talking automation here—we're talking systematising in a way that keeps interactions human and thoughtful. These first two days are about shifting how you think about sales and creating a foundation for real growth that aligns with who you are.LINKSBD SprintThriving Women 2026 SignupEmma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/YouTube Channel

This isn't about hoping referrals happen by accident—it's about creating an intentional, systematic approach to nurturing the relationships that will make your business flourish!Emma McQueen:Thriving Women 2026 SignupWebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

Our recent trip to New York was a meticulously planned gritty, beautiful and amazing whirlwind. My daughter Evie had her heart set on one particular treasure: a Jellycat unicorn from FAO Schwarz. If you have an 11 year old, you'll understand the obsession with these adorable, fluffy toys.So we get to FAO Schwarz and it was packed. No unicorn in sight. Evie was disappointed and she settled for an avocado Jellycat instead. But let's face it, she really wanted that unicorn.24 hours later, two girls walked past holding the exact unicorn Evie wanted. Her eyes lit up. Her dream was still alive! We all get disappointed in business don't we? It's not what we do with that disappointment, it's how we bounce back.In sales, you don't always get to the yes straight away. Sometimes you get silence, sometimes you get a hard no. But with curiosity, with better questions, with persistence, with follow-up, things can shift. Sometimes really really quickly. So if you're lacking a few unicorns lately—whether in sales or broader business objectives—maybe it's time to regroup. Gather your team, get curious and keep your sights set on that goal. You never know what can happen in 24 hours. What's your unicorn? This episode proves that sales isn't about complex funnels or overwhelming strategies; it's about genuine human connections, clarity and consistent action. If you're sitting on cold leads or feeling stuck with your sales, this is your roadmap to stop overthinking and start converting.Emma McQueen:Thriving Women 2026 WaitlistWebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/Mentioned in this episode:Thriving Women WaitlistJoin The Waitlit for Thriving BusinessThriving Women

Here's my dirty little secret: after five years of podcasting, I still get sweaty palms before hitting record. Every. Single. Time. In this episode, I'm joined by Brianna Ansaldo from Bamby Media, who has been gently pushing me toward sharing more of myself and my personal stories—away from the safe harbour of interviewing guests and into the terrifying waters of actually talking about me, my life and my mistakes. You'll discover why those supposedly "inappropriate" or "unprofessional" parts of our stories are actually gold, creating those "oh my god, me too" moments that build real connection. We discuss the crucial difference between sharing your story and trauma-dumping on the internet, emphasising the importance of sharing from a healed place rather than the raw, bleeding edge of whatever you're going through right now.I share what happened when I started getting more human in my content and why vulnerability enhanced rather than hurt my credibility. In a world where AI can generate decent business advice in seconds, your messy, beautifully human stories are your competitive advantage that no algorithm can replicate.Connect with Brianna:Website: https://www.bambymedia.com/ Instagram: @bamby_media YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn6XPp0MVgHZMndAh-25_Qw Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/Mentioned in this episode:Thriving Women WaitlistJoin The Waitlit for Thriving BusinessThriving Women

As we glide into the second half of 2025, I've been taking this mid year mark as an opportunity to go back through some of my most popular episodes from last year... As we glide into the second half of 2025, I've been taking this mid year mark as an opportunity to go back through some of my most popular episodes from last year... This one was too good not to share again. It's as relevant today as it was when I first released it. Enjoy! If you had to choose between in-person or virtual offering, what would be your preference? You might be sitting there thinking, well hang on there are pros and cons to both of them. I want to show up in my pj bottoms and a top knot which is great for virtual, but in-person that may be frowned upon. In-person is a lot more effort. But maybe in-person is better because we feel more connected to the other humans in the room, and we can achieve more results. You're probably now more confused and for that, I'm not apologising. It's a long-standing debate and one I'm eager to tackle for you. Let's dive into the pros and cons of each approach for your business, and see where it leads.LINKS:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://www.emmamcqueen.com.au/book/

I have a confession that might shock you: I am not a romantic. In fact, I might just be the worst romantic you'll ever meet—just ask my husband Mark, whose first ever birthday gift from me was a mop (yikes!). But this seeming shortfall in romance has actually emerged as a distinct advantage in business, and I'm here to explain exactly how my extremely practical nature has become one of my biggest strengths. In this episode, I share how practicality drives everything from building intentional communities at our Go-Getter Days and Thriving Women dinners to obsessing over sales numbers and tracking every detail that keeps the business moving forward. You'll discover how I've turned ideas into tangible intellectual property assets like masterclasses, books and guides that genuinely help women in business, and why measuring what matters beats playing guessing games every single time. We'll also explore the balance between practicality and intuition - that connection between head, heart and gut needed to ensure we're making the right decisions. If you've ever felt like you're too practical for this romantic world, this episode is your permission slip to embrace that strength and discover how it can become your secret business weapon.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

Growing up with a mum who battled bipolar disorder taught me one crucial lesson early: I had to rely on myself. While other kids were playing, I was managing daily routines, providing emotional support and stepping into the role of the responsible adult. While still in highschool I had moved out of home and got a distress call from my mum. She was married to a man who was no good and I knew I had to act. I drove over there, packed her bags and took her to a safe house to escape domestic violence. Terrifying? Absolutely. But even at that young age, I realised that if I didn't take charge, no one else would. Years later, this lesson was cemented into my professional life as well. Despite being repeatedly told by an old boss that I was terrible at sales (gee, thanks) I realised I needed to re-write that narrative. If I was starting my own business, I couldn't afford to believe that I was terrible at sales. It was up to me to make it happen.Having a community is amazing and it's great to have support, but at the end of the day, you need to do the work. You've gone into business to create freedom, choice and generate revenue - so go out and make it happen.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

What happens when you commit to saying yes to everything for an entire year? In this episode, I share the story of my "Year of Yes" that began with a bold move from Perth to Melbourne in my early twenties, knowing absolutely no one and having no job waiting for me. This simple concept of saying yes to every invitation, opportunity and adventure that came my way led to some surprising places and invaluable lessons that shaped both my personal life and business approach. We'll explore how saying yes in those critical early business years can lead to unique collaborations and clients you might otherwise miss, even when it means facing rejection and learning who your right people really are. We'll talk about the delicate balance between embracing every opportunity and recognising when you need to slow down.I challenge you to examine whether you're saying no too often and missing out on unexpected growth opportunities. Could substituting a flat no with "yes, and..." or "yes, however..." open doors to new possibilities? This year of yes taught me that the world is full of opportunities waiting to happen—it's about choosing a mindset of growth and adventure, leaping into the unknown and learning to soar along the way.Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

I fainted during my own Masterclass. Yep, you read right! I'm mid-way through my own masterclass, trying to be the portrait of professionalism, when suddenly I decide it's the perfect moment to perform a dramatic fainting act – right there in front of 50 Zoom participants. As you can imagine, this was extremely embarrassing. Thankfully, I can laugh about it now. I've also come to realise that even our biggest moments of ‘failure' can lead us to some pretty awesome learnings. In this episode, I share the story of how what started as a family weekend dealing with my daughter's illness led to a chain of events that left me unwell, but my determination to show up for my community meant I pushed through anyway—with some fairly surprising consequences. You'll hear about the moment I collapsed during the live session and what happened when I woke up to discover how my community responded. This experience completely shifted my perspective on what I'd actually built over the years and taught me some beautiful lessons about genuine support and the power of a solid community. We explore what true community really means, how it extends beyond immediate proximity and why the response I received wasn't what you might expect. I discuss the lessons learnt about mutual support, shared resilience and what it means to truly show up for each other. To everyone listening, I hope you have or can build a community like that—a warm embrace, ready to support you unfailingly. Let this story remind you of the power of unity and encouragement, and that sometimes our most vulnerable moments reveal the strongest foundations we've built. And that's (almost) worth fainting for!Emma McQueen:WebsiteFor a copy of Emma's book, 'Go-getter: Raise your mojo, shift your mindset and thrive' – https://emmamcqueen.com.au/want-more/emmas-book/

What happens when 65 ambitious women in business gather together under one roof? I'll tell you what happens - pure magic. The feedback from our latest Go-Getter Day was that the event felt like family. Imagine a group of inspiring women gathered together to connect, grow and support one another through networking and expert bespoke coaching. It's a day filled with collaboration and community where some real work gets done, leaving everyone feeling empowered and invigorated.I never set out to become an event host, but watching women travel across Australia to be part of Go-Getter Day has shown me that we've built something truly special.Expert Bespoke CoachingThe Queen's Council offers personalised coaching from a panel of five experts—bespoke coaching with me, a social media expert, a Meta ads expert, a virtual assistant expert and Tracy Rudich, our booby expert from Intimo. That's right - boobies! It was an absolute hit.Networking on the day is dynamic and intentional. Lunch becomes an opportunity to connect with fresh faces, fostering unexpected relationships that often become lasting partnerships. Afternoons transform into hot seat sessions—ten-minute focused discussions that consistently spark insights, lots of laughter and tears. Always tears.Conquering Self Promotion FearsAfter the hot seat sessions, one of the highlights for me is when these fabulous women courageously get up on the mic in front of everyone to conquer their self-promotion fears. This builds incredible confidence as women articulate their mission, knowing they have the full attention of a supportive room.Community That Transcends EverythingGo-Getter Day welcomes everyone with open arms - from business newbies to entrepreneurs with multimillion dollar businesses because the value of community truly does transcend revenue.
