A faulkn review and discussion on Creed II the sequel to the well made Rocky spin off Creed. I think the title of the episode says it all, this movie was just... meh. A rocky movie without any of the great moments you'd expect in a rocky movie or the previous Creed film. Left us wanting more, from the fight scenes, to the montages, this film missed the mark. The best part of the movie is actually the antagonist, the Drago family. Victor and Ivan steal this movie, whether that was intended or not we discuss in the episode. We also admit that due to the quality of the overall franchise and previous film, the sequel did have tough comparison bias. Find it on Soundcloud, ITunes, Stitcher and all social media @mywtfshow. The Dark Tower: Faulkn Preview/Review by What The Faulk Show
First I saw her in the HBO film "2 days in the Valley" (I believe I started puberty that day. It's science.), then on I've seen Charlize Theron as the archtypical blonde bombshell of the silver screen. She fights, she cries, she acts her ass off. She's one of the best actors film has had in the last 20 years. This week on the What the Faulk Show, we analyze the career of Charlize Theron. All of her great roles and films, including her newest movie "Atomic Blonde. Prewatch discussion and expectations, paired with an immediate post-watch review of the film make this podcast a must for any person who: is about to see the movie loved the movie likes Charlize Theron movies likes movies So if you fit any of the above criteria, go ahead and take a Faulkn listen. French director Luc Besson has established himself as one of the greater minds in filmmaking. His films include common themes like: -Stong female characters -Really bad, bad guys -Colorfully designed sets and worlds -A more european/progressive pov He's made some of my favorite movies ever. With his upcoming release of "Valerian: A city of a thousand planets" I thought it fitting to go over the films of Luc Besson. This retrospective leads into our preview of "Valerian" and the episode wraps up with our review of the film. What makes Chirstopher Nolan so Faulkn Great...ish? This week, with the help of some work colleagues/friends I discuss what I think makes this director such an elite filmmaker. I found that to be his use of flawed yet endearing human characters. HIs excellent ability to make a world that the audience can believe and embrace. With this he makes you care and that's half the battle of filmmaking. Is a great director? Yes. Can I see how is last few movies have been a bit dissapointing? Yes. We then talk about our expectations for his newest film, "Dunkirk". Then we go watch the Faulkn film, and let you know what we thought. As always, witty, informational conversation is included throughout almost if not all of the episode. Thanks for Faulkn listening and thanks to Brooks, and Miguel for being great guests. Alsion Wright is a Faulkn great Actor. For four seasons she's played the pivitoal and breakout role as Martha on "The Americans" for FX. Soon she'll appear as a series regular for FX's new Ryan Murphy helmed show "Feud" co-starring along side Susan Surandon and Jessica Lange. What the Faulk this woman is killing it right?! I'm not done, she's set to appear on Broadway as well, in Studio 54's production of "Sweat" from March to September. Fantasy Faulkn Football Wk 14 QB CALM Phillip Rivers @ Panthers $6,600 (CAR ranks 27th vs QB's, SD very much in the playoff hunt will rely on OFF) Cam Newton vs Chargers $7,200 (SD ranks 16th vs QB, after the embarassing showing vs SEA Cam and the panthers have to play for pride) Eli Manning vs Cowboys $5,500 (DAL ranks 17th vs QB's, another pride game and since DAL will likely get up they will throw the ball) Brock Osweiler @ Colts $5,300 (IND ranks 30th vs QB's, best game this season was vs IND, no Dqwell Jackson, a lot of throwing + possible garbage yds) CAUTION Tom Brady vs Ravens $7,100 (BAL ranks 9th vs QB's, No Gronk and if BAL can shut down Blount then Brady will be prime for a beating, don't like it) Big Ben @ Buffalo $7,000 (BUF ranks 12th vs QB's, Winter weather in BUFF can derail fantasy pts, staying away in DFS) SNEAKY PLAY Matt Barkley @ Lions $5,000 (DET ranks 22nd vs QB's, he puts up #'s and an indoor game at a cheap price is worth the start) RB CALM DeMarcco Murray vs Broncos $7,000 (DEN 23rd vs RB's, the way to beat them is on the ground. TENN won't put the game on Mariota) Matt Forte @ Niners $6,800 (SF 32nd vs RB's, SF is just bad Run D, with Petty starting NYJ will want to control the clock via run game) Rex Burkhead @ Browns $3,500 (CLE 30th vs RB's, Rex continues to get an opportunity. If they get up early he will get the garbage yards & at that price he's a solid Flex.) CAUTION LaGarrette Blount vs Ravens $5,300 (BAL ranks 3rd vs RB's, no Gronk hurts the run game & Ravens are just too good) DeVontae Booker @ Titans $4,800 (TENN ranks 5th vs RB's, avg under 2 YPC, just not a good RB right now) SNEAKY PLAY Rob Kelley @ Eagles $4,200 (PHI ranks 10th vs RB's, but Rob is a true workhorse & against a PHI DEF that has been down lately there is a lot of value) WR CALM Doug Baldwin @ Packers $6,800 (GB ranks 21st vs WR's, possible shootout if weather permits. Good price for a #1 against a struggling GB Secondary) Demaryius Thomas @ Titans $6,000 (TENN ranks 31st vs WR's, an atheltic freak at a great price against a slumping secondary) DeSean Jackson @ Eagles $5,200 (PHI ranks 25th vs WR's, DJAX has a history, his QB is hot, PHI has struggled recently = Good value) CAUTION Julio Jones vs Rams $8,500 (LA ranks 28th vs WR's but JJ is battling turf toe & they can easily win this game without him, not worth the $ this wk) Jordy Nelson vs Seahawks $6,800 (SEA ranks 8th vs WR's, Jordy will likely get Sherman, he's no longer good enough to beat him consistently, bad weather, no thanks) Stefon Diggs @ Jaguars $6,500 (JAX ranks 5th vs WR's, even in PPR the TD's and yds inconsistenty is too much room for error against a very talented JAX Secondary) SNEAKY PLAY Corey Coleman vs Bengals $4,400 (RG3 is back & his best trait is the deep ball, CC best trait is catching them, garbage yds opp) TE CALM Jimmy Graham @ Packers $5,500 (GB ranks 26th vs TE, middle of the field will be open vs this struggling GB LB core) Jason Witten @ Giants $3,100 (NYG rank 22nd vs TE, made a career out of torching NYG, DAL OFF likely to get Red Zone OPP's) CAUTION Jordan Reed/Vernon Davis @ Eagles $5,900/$3,500 (PHI ranks 2nd vs TE's, a very athletic LB core for PHI can handle most TE's) Martellus Bennett vs Ravens $4,200 (BAL ranks 7th vs TE's, even with Gronk out Bennett hasn't produced and is dealing with constant injury) SNEAKY PLAY Will Tye vs Cowboys $2,800 (DAL ranks 27th vs TE's, I anticipate a high scoring game & at that price the value is high) DEF CALM Falcons vs Rams $3,100 (LA ranks 30th vs DEF's, Goff is giving up the ball, LA isn't very good = great value at that price) CAUTION Broncos @ Titans $3,800 (TENN is a good OFF & this smells like a trap game, not worth Top 5 $) SNEAKY PLAY Bills vs Steelers $2,500 (Snow showers expected in BUFF, slippery conditions, higher chance of Turnovers at the $ I love the value)

A football fan, a sports fan my whole life my love of college and the NFL competition has been one of my "geekiest" endeavors, and that's saying a lot. I am now the commissioner of my league "California Gamers" a yahoo Fantasy Football League which has been active since the year 2000! This week my guest is close friend and fellow league member Ernesto Casillas. Ernesto and I surprise call the other members of the league and tell them their pick in this year's draft. This episode is about friendships, fantasy football, and as always some witty, informational conversation. I call these members of the league with no warning, no heads up and most of them are available and provide some great content with their excitment about the upcoming season and which players they're targeting with their 1st round selections. I'm lucky to get to do this show, I'm lucky to have great friends, I'm luck for Fantasy Football! Find the show on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He works an actor, director, producer, Stuntman, Stunt Coordinator, Visual Effects, and oh yeah he's also an AAU national champion weapon master and 4th degree black belt... Like I said, this man does everything in this business. You may know him from the famous "Call of Duty" game franchise where he has provided his skills in voice over, stunts and more. He's also appeared in "Criminal Minds", "Heroes" and the short lived but cult hit show "Deadliest Warrior" on Spike. This show truly was a gem as each week they provided viewers with entertaining matchups of the world's most effective killers. From a Navy Seal vs Mosad or a Ninja vs a Samurai, historical weapon, action and stunt experts brought these battles to life. Shuan was a part of all of that as he was an actor, stunt man, and even director for the program. More recently his company Truly Indie Studios is working on high quality, elite production web series like "Six Feet Down Under" and "Heroes with Issues" find links to both below. He lives by a certain phrase in this business, "deversify or die" which explains why this man has his hand in so many things. Everywhere, everyday, everyone is playing this Pokemon Go game. So this week on the show I have to ask the simple question... "What the Faulk is a Pokemon". I welcome two Pokemon experts to the show in Miguel Felix and Ernesto Casillas who do their best to explain what this game is, and why it's so popular. From the trading cards in the late 90's, to video games, to the now addicting Pokemon Go, this episode provides informational conversation about what is currently the most popular gaming app in the world. As someone who knows nothing on the subject, I was actually quite surprised at how detailed and deep this culture of gaming is. Hope you can enjoy some faulkn tutorial on the subject, thank you for any click or listen :). My guest this week is Steve Cooper, host of the popular radio show Cooper Talk. Cooper Talk airs over 13 affiliates across the country and has produced over 500 episodes! He's had huge guests on his show including the creator of "Everybody Loves Raymond" Phil Rosenthal, creator of "The Shield" Shawn Ryan, to Alan Ruck who played Cameron in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Bottom line is that Cooper talk has had many great guests, whether you're young or old whether it's an actor, musican, athlete or other industry you're sure to hear some entertaining big names and projects on his show. We discuss his background leading up to Cooper Talk including his many years in Stand Up Comedy. Steve started performing in the early 80's and was one of many great comics performing on stages in Philly, New Jersey and New York. Since the What the Faulk Show is similar to Cooper Talk in its interview nature I picked the brain of this veteran host, asking him what it takes to be a great in today's social media/hyper digital age. Then there's Steve Cooper the author, after surviving his own health scare many years ago he wrote and released "Stop the Salt" a book to help others avoid his threatening experience by adopting low sodium cooking options. He has such an interesting background as a performer, and his success in radio is a lesson to any other hosts out there including myself. Find information on Steve Cooper and Cooper Talk below. My guest this week on the What the Faulk Show is Author and Farmer Lucie Amundsen of Locally Laid egg company based in Wrenshall Minnesota. Lucie takes some time to discuss what they do over at Locally Laid and how they've learned to provide delicous, range free eggs for their customers. A happy chicken, makes a happy egg and the hens on Locally Laid's farm named "Lola" certainly fit that bill. Even more interesting is the journey the Amundsen's took in starting this company. Two non farmers, starting a range free chicken farm in Minnesota makes for an entertaining story. So much so that Lucie has written a book on the matter conveniently titled "Locally Laid". The book has been a major success, and has provided readers with a hillarious and relatable read about the ups and downs of starting a business in middle agriculture. Lucie tells me about the process of releasing her story and how herself and her publisher Penguin Books have helped make this story such a hit. Tune in and find out some things you didn't know about eggs, such as the difference between cage free, range free and when organic isn't always the best purchase.
