The Panthers throw the ball almost 64% of the time, which is 3rd in the league. The only teams that pass the ball more are the Bengals and Commanders... The Commanders have the leagues leader in passing yards…At 1-9 with 2 rookie guards or Cade Mays + a rookie, Reich should try and get this down to around 55%. We don't have a deep threat and the only hope at getting defensives to bite down is run the ball. Miles averaged a little over 5 YPC in the first half last week, Chubba averaged 7!! YES 7!! Jaylen Warren's explosive 62-yard touchdown runs vs. the Buffalo Bills heralded another gear – and another level for the Steelers' running game. As soon as Warren sped into the end zone, it ignited a Steelers Nation debate over who's the best running back in the ‘Burgh. Warren is seen as the modern do-it-all back. Najee Harris is the throwback. Warren is a game-breaker. Harris is a pounding plodder that harkens back to three yards and a cloud of dust. Both backs will be integral to the 2023 Steelers' offense. Harris will help turnover the down markers and run out the clock. But it's Warren who'll become the take-it-to-the-house scoring threat from anywhere on the field. That's not the only difference, either. One was drafted in the first round. The other was signed off the street. No wonder supposedly elite running backs across the league often go begging when it comes to signing their second NFL contract. The crucial number is yards per carry. Najee is stuck at a lackluster 3.9 YPC after two years with the Steelers. Warren put up a full yard on Najee in 2022, and if he continues to explode like he did vs. Buffalo, the gap could grow to the point of embarrassment for the former first-rounder. In today's NFL, running backs have become a means to an end. As Warren showed, the shortest distance to a touchdown is a 62-yard run. We have much more on the juggernaut Steelers, who've been peaking in the preseason, along with all the resulting Yinzer hype now sweeping Steelers Nation. But is this team for real? We dig for answers in this band-wagon edition of your Steelers Update Podcast. And be sure to check out my full print column first thing Thursday on PennLive. It will be packed with plenty of memes bringing the latest, greatest Steelers debate to life – and to laughs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Last season Kenneth Walker put up the second best rookie season for a running back in Seahawks history. He amassed over a thousand yards and 9 touchdowns, while averaging 4.6 YPC. He accomplished this while running behind two rookie tackles, and interior of the offensive line failed often throughout the second half of the year. This season Walker looks to explode. The Seahawks are back in action and hope to rebound after their 2-game lead in the NFC West has dropped to zero after losing back-to-back games. The OFF was able to put up points but not at critical times and the DEF wasn't able to stop anyone. Attention on our run game, DEF and Geno's ability to close a game have all come into question as they prepare for the defending Superbowl Los Angeles Rams who are closing into a first-to-worst season. The team also announced the classic uniforms are making a return in 2023. This is the HawksCast.NET podcast. Topic #1 Are playoffs still a reasonable expectation? Topic #2 Why did we see our DEF and our Rush game revert to its early ugly form? Topic #3 Hawks Cast Corner - If Geno can't close out a game, can you extend him to be your franchise QB? If there is a problem with the sound of your podcast, the way you troubleshoot it is by isolating each part of your signal chain (the path your voice takes from the microphone to the cable to the interface to the recorder, etc. I recently attended an event and came back with lots of ideas I want to try to grow my audience. These include: Using a tool to help with episode titles Promoting the show on Tiktok Better Artwork and many more. So when we come back from these events we are excited and we want to see our download numbers soar and we put all these steps into place at once. If this works, this is great and we keep doing all the steps. However, what if you chose five things to add to your already busy schedule and only one of them is responsible for your growth? That means you are wasting your time doing something that is not helping. This is how podcast burnout happens. We watch YouTube, or go to events, read a book, etc and we get all sorts of ideas and we implement them all. Then later we get more content with more ideas and we feel overwhelmed. We feel we HAVE to do them ALL. If you implement one strategy at a time, you can better see if doing that strategy moves the needle. I recently started using Tiktok. Consequently, I can see where it is driving more traffic to my website. I am using a tool called switch which makes it very easy to monitor if people are clicking on things. Then you can see if something is working (or not) and if it is working, is it working enough to keep doing it? I will often create a coupon code to track and see if someone signs up for the School of Podcasting. That is my goal, and if I see multiple people have used a coupon such as YPC (for your podcast consultant) I can see where it is worth continuing to do this show. The key here is you need to be patient and only implement ONE strategy at a time and then give it a month. If you can, give it two. Then you can look at your data, make informed decisions and only do those strategies and actions that are working, quit doing those that don't, and save your sanity as you watch your show grow. I'm Dave Jackson and I want to be your podcast consultant who helps you plan, launch, grow, and monetize your show. Let's see what we can do together...
Dan and Nick are joined by The Ringer's Danny Kelly to break down the Giants' Week 8 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. They discuss Seattle's surprising start, how in the world Geno Smith is playing at this level, their ridiculously productive 2022 rookie class -- one that includes two starting offensive tackles (Charles Cross, Abe Lucas) a lockdown CB1 and their RB1. They get into more depth about Cross, a prospect the Giants considered in the 2022 Draft and on Walker -- a running back who has a chance to split this game wide open against a Giants defense that has allowed 5.7 YPC. Danny gives his prediction on the game and then Dan and Nick dive into their own analysis -- why this Seahawks run scheme might benefit what the Giants do well as a defense and more. Finally, Dan and Nick give their predictions. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

I saw on Facebook that someone who has been podcasting for a while and has their guests sign a release form was contacted by a former guest who asked them to remove their interview. They were going to school for psychology and they didn't want their clients to be able to find them. So they have no legal leg to stand on. They signed a release. You put a lot of work into that episode. There is a certain amount of "How dare they even ask?!?!" This Isn't An Expose on Big Pharma - It's Your Podcast So yes, you could legally tell them "no, you signed a release." However, you would be missing out on one of the biggest benefits of podcast: the relationships. I'm sure you have other episodes your audience can consume. It's not like you're going to lose your audience because you removed one episode. If you're worried about "Setting a precedent," don't. Most guests are not thinking about your show. They've moved on. Hopefully, you are doing interviews that make the guest look good. People don't ask to have things removed where they look good. Conclusion I'm a big fan of "treat people the way you want to be treated." The guest is asking for a favor. Give it to them and pull down the interview. In the future, you will have a psychologist in your network who you might find useful. New hope has been injected into the Miami Hurricanes Football program with the hiring of Mario Cristobal. Miami hasn't been relevant in the College Football Championship picture in two decades, but with Cristobal at the helm could that change? Since joining the ACC the Canes have only appeared in one ACC Championship that being 2017 where they lost to Clemson 38-3. Going into the 2022 College Football season, however, JT Sports feels the Miami Hurricanes have a great shot at winning the ACC this year with a great coaching staff that has Broyles Award winner Josh Gattis as OC and CO-DCs Charlie Strong and Kevin Steele along with having star QB Tyler Van Dyke and a talented roster this could finally be the year the Miami Hurricanes win their first-ever ACC Championship. The Volunteers finished the 2021 College Football Season with a 7-6 record and the program looks to be trending in the right direction under second-year HC Josh Heupel. With QB Hendon Hooker returning under center as a dark horse Heisman contender along with leading rusher Jabari Small and leading receiver Cedric Tillman, Tennessee could be one of the biggest sleeper teams heading into the 2022 College Football Season with a shot of making a New Years 6 Bowl game. One biggest question for the Vols is the defense, which was one of the worse in College Football last year. If the Defense improves Tennessee could be in for one of their best seasons in recent memory. The Cincinnati Bengals had one of the NFL's most underrated defenses last season. This year they return every starter with the addition of key rookies such as DB Daxton Hill, CB Cam Taylor-Britt, and DL Zachary Carter who should all have small roles in the Bengals defense this year. Cincinnati's defense could potentially be almost as good as the offense this season in 2022. The Houston Texans drafted RB Dameon Pierce in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Florida. Dameon Pierce was a bulldozer for the Gators and despite being underutilized scored 16 total touchdowns in 2021 while averaging 5.7 YPC. Pierce is very hard to bring down when he gets in the open field despite not having elite speed or quickness, he's a powerful back that mauls his way through contact. Dameon Pierce has a great chance to become the lead back for the Texans right away as he has to compete with fellow RBs Marlon Mack and Rex Burkhead and he could have the best rookie season out of all the first year RBs. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jtsports/support

James Cook, brother of NFL running back Dalvin Cook, was born and raised in Miami Florida. He attended the prestigious Miami Northwestern, as well as Miami Central High School, where he was a 4-star recruit. Cook was rated the #3 all-purpose in the nation back by 247Sports, earning him top honors among all other Florida running backs. Among all other high school prospects, Cook came in at #96, making him one of the top RBs in the nation. He received offers from 16 Division-1 schools, including Florida State, Alabama, USC, Miami, Florida, Ohio State, and many others. Cook was committed early to Florida State, where his brother was a star RB, but later flipped his commitment. James Cook chose to attend college at Georgia, where he immediately became a contributor. During his freshman season, Cook had 41 carries for 284 yards and two TDs. He averaged 6.9 YPC and also pitched in 8 catches for 89 yards. Through his first three years on campus, Cook served mostly in a complementary role having limited touches (less than 50 carries and 20 receptions) during each of those seasons. Despite the limited work he received, Cook was able to produce well when given the opportunity, averaging no less than 6.1 YPC in any of those three seasons. Cook returned for his senior season, where he earned himself a much larger workload. In 2021, Cook rushed for 728 yards on 113 carries (6.4 YPC) and 7 TDs, while also hauling in 27 catches for 284 yards and 4 TDs. The increase in opportunity helped Cook burst onto the scene in the 2022 NFL Draft class and was the start of his ascent in the rookie running back rankings.

Please go subscribe and like their podcast, and leave your hot takes about this game in the reviews. 1. Offense starts at 1:00 Why are we playing an ACC team? Harder to appreciate a blowout with what's coming next. What other team is walking to their doom at the end of the season every year? Cade goes 75% on completions for >10 yards per completion - helped out by some spectacular catches. Donovan Edwards has more receiving yards in this game than Chris Evans did in any single season. Hassan Haskins only gets 78 yards at 3.9 YPC, does not help that Cade will not keep the ball on a read. JJ McCarthy shows some flashes in this one, including a reminiscent Denard-first-snap play. McCarthy extends a play that Cade probably would have otherwise thrown away. [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. Defense starts at 26:48 Ground game defense feels a little bit concerning considering Maryland is a team that does not run well. Not great signs for Ohio State. Solutions on what to do when being blatantly held - just go down? Did a nice job holding Rakim Jarrett to two receptions. Michigan is #4 in SP+, and yet are 8.3 points behind Ohio State, which is huge. Hard to be happy about being #4 because we have a Sword of Damocles. 3. Hot Takes, Special Teams, and Game Theory starts at 41:54 Takes so hot they look like Mike Locksley after his team takes multiple red zone penalties on the same drive. Locksley's facial expressions are far too relatable to an exasperated dad. Jay Harbaugh - best coach on staff? Not a hot take, just a question. Kick return trick play won't work against Ohio State since Ohio State doesn't pooch kick. 4. Around the Big Ten, wsg Jamie Mac starts at 56:44 Michigan State's pass defense was, uh... thoroughly exposed. Michigan just has to not lose that badly to go to the Rose Bowl. Nebraska doing what Nebraska does - losing to a ranked team by one score. Nebraska is ranked #33 in SP+, Michigan State is #34. Braelon Allen is emerging as a consistent runner for Wisconsin. Minnesota plows through the erotic rotting corpse of Indiana football. Indiana is a loss to Purdue away from being winless against Power 5 teams for the first time since Kevin Wilson. Looking at the boxscore, how did Iowa win by 10? P00N results in Brian setting the rules for all M00N related scoreboard jokes. Rutgers couldn't score once against a flu-ridden Penn State team. Well, due to some technical difficulties not associated with bourbon this time, this show has been a few weeks in the making. But here it is: the totally wonderful mess that is Episode 6! One of the top running backs in last year’s draft class until he decided to go back to college, Travis Etienne’s draft stock is a bit more varied this year. Some will still have him as their RB1 or RB2 in the class, but a less-than-stellar season has many pointing out his flaws and dropping him below the new and exciting running backs. Is Etienne being overanalyzed as a prospect or is he actually not as elite of a prospect as some once thought?Travis Etienne leaves college football as one of the most productive running backs of all time. Over the course of his four year career he amassed almost 5,000 rushing yards, scored 78 total touchdowns, and caught over 100 passes. In 2018 and 2019, Etienne hit over 1,600 rushing yards each season while averaging nearly eight yards per carry. He stayed in college an extra year though, and in 2020 didn’t even hit 1,000 yards and his average fell to 5.4 YpC. Despite worsened rushing numbers, Etienne has a career-high in receptions during the 2020 season with 48 catches for 588 yards. At the end of the day, Etienne was a highly-productive running back and brings a lot of versatility to any NFL offense.-------------------------------------------------------What is Dynasty Owner? Week 10 of the 2020 Philadelphia Eagles season is now in the books. The Eagles lost to the New York Giants at Met-Life Stadium by a score of 27-17. Their record is 3-5-1, and are, amazingly enough, still in first place in the NFC East division. The Eagles offense went 0-9 on third-down, which really was a microcosm of the offense that couldn't generate much momentum at all against this Giants defense. While it was great having Miles Sanders back as he averaged 5.7 YPC, Doug Pederson only rushed him 15 times during this game. The defense played like stale Swiss cheese and Giants quarterback Daniel Jones picked them apart. It was a tough watch overall. As we do after every Eagles game, we gave our takeaways, dove into the stats and gave out our position and coaching grades.
