Week 1 is over and unforutnualey so is Aaron Rodgers' debut season with the New York Jets. I break down the injury, what's next for him, and what the Jets next move should be (2:15). Stemming from the tragic injury of AR12, I once again go in on why turf needs to be abolished from football stadiums (21:00). The first week in the NFL a little underwhelming, blowouts, bad quarterback play, could lack of preseason reps be the cause? (36:00). This episode wraps up with a recap of week 1 in the NFL (46:30). --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/eric-lyons/support
In the podcast edition of this episode, I went over the moments and reflected on what was a terrific time in Green Bay Packers history. I really wish AR12 the best moving forward and I can't wait to see him return to Lambeau Field when he retires. Here are some of my favorite moments/memories/thoughts (I know I missed some) with Rodgers as the QB of the Packers:* November 29th, 2007 - Rodgers shows flashes in relief of Favre against the Cowboys (18/26, 1 TD, 0 INT, 104.8 RTG, 37-27 loss)* September 8th, 2008 - Rodgers' first start (home against the Vikings)* 24-19 win / 18/22, 1 TD, 0 INT, 1 rushing TD, 115.5 RTG* RIDICULOUS throw - https://twitter.com/TheoAshNFL/status/1380367593630879748?s=20* The Entire 2010 Playoff Run* From Weeks 9 through 17 of the 2010 Season, he threw for 1,911 yards, 16 TD, 2 INT, 122.0 RTG, and the Packers went 5-2* The brilliance in Atlanta in the Divisional Round - one of the great playoff performances by a QB ever* Hard not to mention the BJ Raji pick-six in the NFC Championship Game in Chicago - one of my favorite moments ever* He was elite in SB XLV against the Steelers - 24/39, 304 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 111.5 RTG * The 2011 Season Was Pure Dominance* First MVP* 45 TD, 6 INT, 122.5 RTG* 5 TDs against the Bears on Christmas* The 2012 Season Might Have Been Underrated* 39 TD, 8 INT, 108 RTG, Packers went 11-5* The offense scored 25+ points in 9 games and 20+ points in 14 of 16 games* How can one forget the legendary SNF performance in Houston against the Texans?* 24/37, 338 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 133.8 RTG* The 2013 Season Was Filled With Moments* Hit their groove after a 1-2 start before Rodgers broke his collarbone on MNF against the Bears on November 4th in Week 9* He returned in Week 17 * Bears vs. Packers in Chicago for the NFC North title* The Randall Cobb touchdown seals the deal…one of my favorite moments* However, it ended with another playoff loss to the 49ers* The 2014 Season Was Elite Until It Wasn't* 2nd MVP captured (R-E-L-A-X after a 1-2 start)* Dominance in Week 10 against the Bears on SNF 55-14 (Rodgers 6 TD in 1st half) - followed it up with a 53-20 win over the Eagles in Week 11* 4381 yds, 38 TD, 5 INT, 112.2 RTG* The worst loss of my life was the NFCCG against the Seahawks... I really don't even want to talk about it* The 2015 Season Was Rodgers Putting the Team on His Back* Finished 10-6 after a 7-0 start - a lot of injuries* HAIL MARY #1 in Week 13* Limped into the playoffs* Lost to the Arizona Cardinals in the Divisional Round* Rodgers Hail Mary #2 * The best WR was Jeff Janis in that game due to injuries* Rodgers threw passes to Janis, Jared Abbrederis, Richard Rodgers, John Kuhn, Eddie Lacy, and James Starks in that game (lol)* Took GB to overtime against a formidable ARI team* The 2016 Season Was The “Run The Table” Season* Started 4-6 and had a brutal SNF loss in DC * Rodgers said “I think we can run the table”* And they did so* In the final six weeks of the season…* Packers went 6-0 and won the division in Week 17 at Detroit* 1667 yards, 15 TD, 0 INT, 121 RTG … I forgot how brilliant he was in that run* Despite ZERO defense, he carried them to the NFCCG in Atlanta, where they got obliterated* Hail Mary #3 in the Wild Card Round against the NY Giants* The Divisional Round game at Dallas was incredible…the Jared Cook catch* The 2017 Season Was Injury Plagued* Started 4-1, but Rodgers broke his collarbone in Week 6 due to that loser Anthony Barr* Tried to come back but struggled against the Panthers in Week 15* The 2018 Season Was The End of the McCarthy Era* It was the weirdest 25-touchdown to 2-interception season ever..Rodgers and GB's offense lacked a lot* A horrific Week 13 loss to ARI got McCarthy fired* 6-9-1 record and playoffs missed* The 2019 Season Was the Beginning of the LaFleur Era* Went 13-3 after the offense lacked sharpness* They won a lot of close games and weren't a very good team* Rodgers had two “down seasons” in 2018 and 2019, but had 51 TD and 6 INT … which is insane* Another NFCCG Loss to the 49ers* The 2020 Season May Have Been Rodgers' Best* The Aaron Rodgers —> Davante Adams connection was ABSOLUTELY ELITE in 2020* Rodgers had one bad game in 2020 - Week 6 in Tampa* Overall, he had 51 TD (3 rushing), 5 INT, and a 121.5 RTG and his 3rd MVP* The dominance against the NFC North and SNF snow game against Tennessee was very memorable* In another heartbreaking loss, the Packers went down to the Buccaneers at Lambeau in the NFCCG* They absolutely should've won this game* The 2021 Offseason Was a Disaster* Rodgers asked for a trade* It was a whole big thing* The 2021 Season Equaled Back-to-Back MVPs* The whole COVID thing happened* He threw 20 TD and 1 INT after the COVID thing* 37 TD, 4 INT, 111.9 RTG overall, and his 4th MVP* A stunning loss in the Divisional Round to the 49ers… seemed like the end of the Rodgers Era, but it wasn't * Packers traded Davante Adams to the Raiders after extending Rodgers * The 2022 Season Was Not Good* The season went downhill after the loss in London to the NY Giants* Rodgers broke his thumb and played through it after that game* They went 8-9 and had a real chance to make the playoffs in Week 18, but lost to the Lions* The last Rodgers game at Lambeau was one to forget - 17/27, 205 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 83.1 RTG* The Trade to the Jets* Overall Reflection and Thoughts on the Rodgers EraThanks for tuning in! Jake is joined by Jordan Zirm of Sporting News for their usual spot on Thursdays through the 2022 season. The two start with Jordan's final thoughts on the Browns' disappointment at home against the Patriots and a peculiar JJIII quote that should have us all concerned. They then go around the NFL reacting to the latest storylines including elite QB drama from Tom and AR12 that leaves you feeling the NFL might not be fun for most this year. Lastly, they close with banter on where the NFL's early-season teams that Jake and Jordan feel are already eliminated from playoff contention one-third of the way into the season. Chris and Dave are excited...delighted...glad...pleased...OK that Aaron Rodgers will be under center again this fall for the Packers, but the fellas wonder about the road not taken. And of course they wring their hands about it for over an hour. Posting its first show in 2005, Packers Therapy is the longest-running Packers podcast on the Internet. Hosts Chris and Dave began the show as a way of capturing the spirited chats the two co-workers had about the team around the office. The two have no pretense about being experts: they are just two opinionated shareholders who love the team, follow it closely, but don't always see the Packers fortunes eye to eye. The guys encourage comments and questions via their Twitter feed @PackersTherapy or email to packerstherapy@yahoo.com and read and respond to as many as they can during each show. Packers Therapy is a part of the Packers Talk family of podcasts, serving up enough weekly podcasts to satisfy the most fervent of Packer fans. Anthony is joined again by Wayne Henderson, co-host of the Packers Fan Podcast. Wayne breaks down one of the week's biggest stories from the NFL, as Aaron Rodgers announced that he's extending his career with the Green Bay Packers. The reigning back-to-back MVP will unite once again with WR Davante Adams, so could this be the year AR12 wins his second Lombardi? Wayne also discusses the Russell Wilson trade to Denver and the guys speculate on who the Packers could face in London later this year.

In 2021, their paper was published in Aging's Volume 13, Issue 13, and entitled, “Inhibition of heat shock proteins increases autophagosome formation, and reduces the expression of APP, Tau, SOD1 G93A and TDP-43.” “In this paper we examined using isogenic colon cancer cells [with] several existing drugs that function by increasing autophagy and degrading misfolded proteins.” “Aberrant expression of chaperone proteins is found in many human pathologies including cancer, in virology and in AD, ALS and HC.” In this study, researchers tested drugs that have been used preclinically and clinically in several anticancer studies. The drugs used were: AR12, an antiviral chaperone ATPase inhibitor; Neratinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor; a combination of AR12 and Neratinib; Fingolimod, an immunosuppressive sphingosine l-phosphate receptor modulator; MMF, monomethyl fumarate; and a combination of Fingolimod and MMF. The cells they tested these drug combinations on in vitro included Vero cells (African Green Monkey kidney cells), isogenic HCT116 colon cancer cells (genetically manipulated colon cancer cells), and GBM6 cells (glioblastoma cancer stem cells). They also used plasmids, antibodies, and siRNAs. Researchers acknowledged that the use of non-neuronal cells may be a limitation of this study. “Our present studies were performed in non-neuronal cells and as a caveat, it is possible that our data in HCT116 and Vero cells will not be reflective of the same processes in neuronal cells.” Despite this caveat, results from their research were promising. Some combinations of these drugs were capable of knocking down many disease specific proteins that form toxic aggregates inside cells and in extracellular environments via autophagy. Every team, every city, every fan full of hope for the upcoming season and the best part is nobody knows what's going to happen yet so you just might be right but in the meantime we got every going on around the NFL. Show starts off with Rodgers reporting to camp and defecating all over the Packers organization and what this last season means to both Aaron and Green Bay. Tell me if you heard this one before: Carson Wentz is injured and headed towards surgery. Dude's been poked more than Cavity Sam (do your googles if you're too young). Washington Football Team signs Jonathan Allen and now has the scariest D-line in football, Deshaun Watson reports to camp despite accusations and Sean Payton is pissed at Michael Thomas. We do some 'Home Cookin' and get into everything around Jets & Giants camp, Xavien Howard and the Dolphins not close on new deal and where Mitch Trubisky ranks all-time in Bears QB history. Ron Rivera says he's “beyond frustrated” that so many Washington players are unvaccinated. He is immune deficient following cancer treatment last year, hence his disposition. Washington is near the bottom of the league at around 60%. Rivera says he hopes his players understand that. Why does social media cause this much damage to athletes today, consistently taking “mental health” days while stars like LEBRON are able to handle it all with such character? With Olympic champion Simone Biles withdrawing from team finals to protect her mental health we question why everyone cares so much about what other people do. Rapper DaBaby criticised for comments at US festival about people with HIV and gay men then T.I. Defends DaBaby's Homophobic Rolling Loud Rant: 'Ain't Got to Be No Hate, It's All Honesty'. In this episode I talk about the divisional and championship round of the NFL playoffs. I also talk about why I think the Brooklyn Nets need to be cut some slack.
This week, it's just Isaac and Zack- looks like Jonathan didn't want to face the Ravens loss and his wildly incorrect predictions. We review the divisional round games, preview the upcoming conference championship games, and go head to head in arguing between TB12 and ARod!
In this weeks episode, Mark previews the Packers matchup against the Panthers and furthers the case for AR12 to win MVP. Also a surprise candidate for COTY. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
