In this episode of the show we are joined by two great guests, Hillary and Tony, to talk about Permanent Midnight, the first of four conversations about Ben Stiller movies from 1998. Over the course of our chat you will hear us talk about the way this movie handles the theme of addiction, how it could have leaned into one of its potentially interesting thematic ideas and how its brisk format perhaps undoes a lot of its power. We also talk about the movie's contentious framing device, the nuances of Ben Stiller's performances and whether this movie was ghost-directed by Bob Zemeckis. Tune in and enjoy! The town of Hallstatt has 750 residents. Over 7,000 people a day are now visiting the city because of the Disney film. Mayor Alexander Scheutz was left with no choice, but to shut down the viewing area due to heavy traffic and privacy concerns. Gizmodo says Disney is opening a theme park based on the movie ''Frozen''.The park is part of Hong Kong Disneyland's expansion. It will open later this year. The Liverpool Echo newspaper says a bar, inspired by the Top Gun movies, is going to open in Merryside, England. The bar is called Maverick's. It will feature a jukebox, vintage neon signs, an American flag and a Statue of Liberty. Owner Andrew Mikhail says, "Top Gun is my favorite film of all time and so the bar just had to have a nod to the iconic Tom Cruise film. There's one thing that holds true for all American dive bars: If you visit one, you're always going to have a story to tell later, and that is what we want to achieve with Maverick's". Uproxx says Eddie Murphy is in talks to star in the next Pink Panther movie as Inspector Clouseau. Amazon owns the rights to the Pink Panther franchise FanFest says Bradley Cooper has allegedly turned down the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming ''Superman: Legacy'' movie. The film is going to be released on July 11th, 2025. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to play Conan the Barbarian again. Ace Showbiz quotes him as saying; "It's been pending for the last ten years. [Fredrik] Malmberg owns the rights. He comes to me and says, 'Oh, I have a deal with Netflix' and when we ask Netflix, they don't know anything about it. It's one of those crazy things. I hope he figures it out. I think you do it like 'Unforgiven', where you play the age. There's a great script out there that John Milius wrote, and others have written one. The story is there. There are directors who want to do it. But he has the rights, and until he sells the rights for one or two movies, or for the franchise, there's nothing you can do about it."Arnold Schwarzenegger tellsThe Hollywood Reporter that he is done playing the Terminator. “The franchise is not done. I'm done. I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different theme when it comes to The Terminator. Someone has to come up with a great idea. The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, so I always would look at it very fondly. The first three movies were great. Number four [Salvation] I was not in because I was governor. Then five [Genisys] and six [Dark Fate] didn't close the deal as far as I'm concerned. We knew that ahead of time because they were just not well written.”Michael J Fox tells Variety magazine that he doesn't care if ''Back to the Future'' gets rebooted. “I'm not fanatical. Do what you want. It's your movie. I got paid already. I don't think it needs rebooting because are you going to clarify something? You're going to find a better way to tell the story? I doubt it.”Christopher Lloyd, aka Doc Brown, says, “I would love to do a sequel, but I think Bob Zemeckis and [producer Steven] Spielberg felt that they told the story in the three episodes. But if somebody has a brilliant idea that would justify a fourth film it might happen.”
There is absolutely no doubt that Back To The Future is one of the most beloved films of all time. Forty years after its release, it is still considered one of the most perfect films ever made. It solidified the careers of Bob Zemeckis and Michael J. Fox and was another production notch-in-the-belt for Steven Spielberg. Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, so many people owe so much to a film about a time traveling DeLorean. But let me be clear, no one and I me no one appreciates Back To The Future more than everyone involved with the making of the 1985 film, Teen Wolf. Released a little over a month after Back The Future, this four million dollar budget film road the Marty McFly wave all the way to the bank, bringing in almost eighty million dollars world-wide. People wanted more Michael J. Fox and Scott Howard was more than willing to oblige. Today on Buzzn The Tower we'll talk about eighties Twilight, aka Teen Wolf. I'm Mo Shapiro and joining me as always the Dragons to my Beavers, Max Sanders. And with that...
The King of the Uncanny Valley - our boy Bob Zemeckis - is back with his spin on perhaps the most iconic un-real boy in cinema…it's Pinocchio, baby! Our friends from Podcast: The Ride - two Disney daddies and one small wooden boy - join us to chat about Disney's latest live-action remake, and we're mostly just confused. How many days did Tom Hanks spend on set? Why are so many people in Hollywood eager to make their own Pinocchio adaptations? Did Leslie Zemeckis do mo-cap work for the sexy goldfish? Why does Disney World's Rock ‘N' Roller Coaster revolve around AEROSMITH of all bands?? We may never know! On this episode, Barry and Mike wish upon a star in the hopes of becoming real boys as they discuss the new Disney +, Bob Zemeckis movie Pinocchio, starring Tom Hanks. Topics touched upon are...what the hell happened to Bob Zemeckis? What the hell happened to Tom Hanks? And how the hell did a cricket from the American South make the journey all the way over to a tiny Italian village?

WHY IS THAT TRENDING?/THE SPOTLIGHT 1. Amy Newman’s 31 Halloween Movie Review 2. During a recent virtual interview with Collider, Anne Hathaway discussed why she thought Zoe Kravitz was the “perfect choice” for The Batman’s Catwoman. Saying the following, "You saw the picture of her coming down those stairs, right? Yeah, she doesn't need my advice. If I had any advice it would be literally don't listen to anybody because I think the only way to play that role is to give your version of it. All of us had different directors and all of our interpretations were specific to the films that they were in, kind of like my Grand High Witch is specific to Bob Zemeckis and Angelica Huston's is specific to Nicolas Roeg's, and that's great!" The Witches star even noted the legacy of the equally iconic DC live-action character, The Joker. 3. Darrell Hammond paid special tribute to film legend Sean Connery upon news of his death and reminisced about parodying him on Saturday Night Live several years ago. Connery, best known as the first actor to play James Bond onscreen, died at age 90 in the Bahamas. "Sorry to hear of the passing of Sean Connery, my condolences to his family," Hammond wrote on Twitter. The show alum played Connery several times on the NBC late-night comedy series in the '90s and '00s, appearing alongside Will Ferrell's Alex Trebek in a Celebrity Jeopardy! recurring sketch. Hammond's character always sparred with the game show host by making inappropriate jokes about him and his mother and messing up the titles of Jeopardy! categories. He reprised the role on SNL's 40th anniversary special in 2015. "Always loved doing my silly impressions of him on SNL, and I heard he once spoke highly of me on The Tonight Show," Hammond wrote on Instagram. "Thanks for making me look better than I am man, RIP 'Mr Connery you wear me out!' 'You didn't say that last night when I was pumping moo goo gai pan all over your tonsils!'

On retrouve donc…
