whatever. Ahahahaha. This movie sucked.“But,” you ask, “how exactly did it suck? Was it an earnest attempt to reboot the franchise with yet another trilogy-starter? (no, Skynet is Matt Smith) Is it a fact in the movie that Sarah Connor's father used to take her to a concrete bunker under a bridge? The town of Hallstatt has 750 residents. Over 7,000 people a day are now visiting the city because of the Disney film. Mayor Alexander Scheutz was left with no choice, but to shut down the viewing area due to heavy traffic and privacy concerns. Gizmodo says Disney is opening a theme park based on the movie ''Frozen''.The park is part of Hong Kong Disneyland's expansion. It will open later this year. The Liverpool Echo newspaper says a bar, inspired by the Top Gun movies, is going to open in Merryside, England. The bar is called Maverick's. It will feature a jukebox, vintage neon signs, an American flag and a Statue of Liberty. Owner Andrew Mikhail says, "Top Gun is my favorite film of all time and so the bar just had to have a nod to the iconic Tom Cruise film. There's one thing that holds true for all American dive bars: If you visit one, you're always going to have a story to tell later, and that is what we want to achieve with Maverick's". Uproxx says Eddie Murphy is in talks to star in the next Pink Panther movie as Inspector Clouseau. Amazon owns the rights to the Pink Panther franchise FanFest says Bradley Cooper has allegedly turned down the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming ''Superman: Legacy'' movie. The film is going to be released on July 11th, 2025. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to play Conan the Barbarian again. Ace Showbiz quotes him as saying; "It's been pending for the last ten years. [Fredrik] Malmberg owns the rights. He comes to me and says, 'Oh, I have a deal with Netflix' and when we ask Netflix, they don't know anything about it. It's one of those crazy things. I hope he figures it out. I think you do it like 'Unforgiven', where you play the age. There's a great script out there that John Milius wrote, and others have written one. The story is there. There are directors who want to do it. But he has the rights, and until he sells the rights for one or two movies, or for the franchise, there's nothing you can do about it."Arnold Schwarzenegger tellsThe Hollywood Reporter that he is done playing the Terminator. “The franchise is not done. I'm done. I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different theme when it comes to The Terminator. Someone has to come up with a great idea. The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, so I always would look at it very fondly. The first three movies were great. Number four [Salvation] I was not in because I was governor. Then five [Genisys] and six [Dark Fate] didn't close the deal as far as I'm concerned. We knew that ahead of time because they were just not well written.”Michael J Fox tells Variety magazine that he doesn't care if ''Back to the Future'' gets rebooted. “I'm not fanatical. Do what you want. It's your movie. I got paid already. I don't think it needs rebooting because are you going to clarify something? You're going to find a better way to tell the story? I doubt it.”Christopher Lloyd, aka Doc Brown, says, “I would love to do a sequel, but I think Bob Zemeckis and [producer Steven] Spielberg felt that they told the story in the three episodes. But if somebody has a brilliant idea that would justify a fourth film it might happen.”

Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) is requesting an “urgent briefing” from IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel’s office to address concerns about possible retaliation. “These allegations are extremely serious. Such retaliation not only discourages whistleblowers from coming forward to Congress but can also constitute an illegal violation of statutory protections for whistleblowers,” Smith wrote in a letter to Werfel on Tuesday. The letter was published by Just the News. Lawyers for an IRS criminal supervisory special agent wrote to Congress on Monday to say their client had just been told that “he and his entire investigative team are being removed” from the Hunter Biden probe and was “informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice.” The “move is clearly retaliatory and may also constitute obstruction of a congressional inquiry,” lawyers Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt wrote. The IRS agent, who has not been publicly identified, has sought to make protected whistleblower disclosures to Congress while raising concerns about lies and politics corrupting the criminal inquiry into Hunter Biden. After Biden’s lawyers met with Department of Justice officials late last month, sources told The Washington Post that potential charges for tax- and gun-related crimes may soon follow from Delaware’s U.S. Attorney David Weiss. Hunter Biden has said he expects to be cleared of wrongdoing, and his father, President Joe Biden, told MSNBC this month that his son has “done nothing wrong.” The IRS and Justice Department have so far refused to respond directly to the claim that the IRS supervisor and his entire team had been pulled from the case. The Justice Department has deferred to Weiss, whose office is so far not speaking out on the matter. Smith requested a briefing from Werfel’s office by 5 p.m. on Thursday. “Failure to provide forthcoming and transparent information regarding the actions taken against this employee by your agency will necessitate additional Committee action,” he warned. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-allows-illinois-assault-weapons-ban-take-effect Supreme Court allows Illinois 'assault weapons' ban to take effect The U.S. Supreme Court allowed Illinois' ban on "assault weapons" to take effect temporarily on Wednesday. The ruling allows the Illinois law to remain in effect while lower courts deliberate on its constitutional status. Wednesday's ruling comes after a gun shop owner in Illinois requested an injunction against the ban. The Illinois law bans the sale and new possession of semi-automatic "assault weapons." Those who already legally own such weapons would not have to turn them in. The law also bans the sale of large capacity magazines. The court did not offer an explanation for its Wednesday decision, and there were no noted dissents. The National Foundation for Gun Rights (NFGR) a legal group associated with the gun store that requested an injunction, expressed disappointment with Wednesday's ruling. The group remains committed to fighting Illinois' ban, however. "Any action the Supreme Court would have taken at this point would only have been temporary and not on the merits of the case itself. Clearly, the Supreme Court is watching the issue closely and we look forward to appealing very soon on the merits if the 7th Circuit rules against us – as the signs currently point to," said Hannah Hill, Executive Director of the NFGR. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit is currently considering the case. The request for an injunction went to Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Illinois passed the Protect Illinois Communities Act on Jan. 10, banning the sale, purchase, manufacture, delivery and importation of "assault weapons" and large capacity magazines, with exceptions for law enforcement, military members and certain other professionals with firearm training. The legislation specifically names the AR-15 and AK-47 rifles and requires lawful owners of semi-automatic rifles to register their ownership with state police. The 7th Circuit has yet to issue a final ruling on the Illinois law, but its decision is likely to be appealed to the Supreme Court. Judge Stephen Patrick McGlynn, a Trump appointee in Illinois' Southern District, had initially granted the injunction earlier in May. Appellate Judge Frank Easterbrook then reversed McGlynn's ruling, a decision that has now been supported by both the 7th Circuit and the Supreme Court. McGlynn's ruling had argued that Illinois' law infringed on the right to self-defense and, in some cases, "completely obliterated that right by criminalizing the purchase and the sale of more than 190 'arms.'" https://mynorthwest.com/3889164/rantz-pedophile-ish-adult-woman-identifies-15-year-old-boy-per-police-report/ ‘Pedophile-ish’ adult woman identifies as 15-year-old boy, per police report Police arrested a 35-year-old woman, who identifies as a 15-year-old boy, for harboring a teen runaway. Shouldn’t Washington Progressives defend this woman for being mis-aged? The police allege Amanda Dorrough was involved in a host of inappropriate behavior with juveniles, including getting naked in front of them, inappropriately touching one, and providing marijuana. One of her alleged victims characterized her as “pedophile-ish,” according to a police incident report, which doesn’t list the individual ages of the alleged victims. This incident highlights the dangers of identifying as something you’re not. But it also shows the left-wing hypocrisy on issues of identity. The vice principal at Port Angeles High School reported to police that two students reported that eight of their classmates were planning to run away to Seattle with Amanda Dorrough, according to the police report. It said there had been “several recent reports of Amanda Dorrough having runaway youth in her apartment.” An officer located several teen minors at the gully behind Dorrough’s apartment complex on May 4, 2023. Several of them were identified by the school as planning to run away, and Dorrough was allegedly aware that one was listed as a runaway, giving the officer probable cause to arrest her for Unlawful Harboring of a Minor. In addition to the minors, police found two empty condom packets and a bra at the gully. “While at the Clallam County Jail, Amanda told the staff that she identifies as a teenage boy,” the incident report states. “The previous week, she told [an officer] that she identifies as a teenage boy. The previous week she told [the officer] that she feels like teenagers ‘understand’ her better and that she ‘identifies’ better with teenage kids. Amanda is a 35-year-old woman.” An alleged juvenile victim, identified only as T.A., told authorities that he found Dorrough to be “pedophile-ish,” according to the incident report. It says T.A. reports that Amanda told him that she liked him and when he didn’t reciprocate the feeling, she got upset and “almost killed herself.” He alleged she touched him inappropriately and has been completely nude in front of him. T.A. also alleged that Dorrough provided him and other juveniles with marijuana. The Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged her with one count of distributing a controlled substance (marijuana/cannabis) to a minor. She posted bail on May 14. This is not the first contact police have had with an adult pretending to be a minor. Since April 11, 2023, the police said they received 11 calls concerning Dorrough’s alleged conduct. Now it’s time for my new segment, the rundown… https://www.theblaze.com/news/church-that-runs-nashville-christian-school-where-mass-killing-occurred-moves-to-block-public-release-of-trans-shooters-manifesto Over the weekend, the Covenant Presbyterian Church and associated Covenant School filed a motion to block the public release of the manifesto of the transgender shooter who attacked the school, court documents revealed. Monday court filings revealed that the Covenant Church requested that the court prevent the documents from being released to the public, citing privacy concerns. The motion, filed against the Tennessee Firearms Association, and another filed against the Nashville Police Association stated that the manifesto "may include and/or relate to information owned by Covenant Church," such as "schematics of church facilities and confidential information" regarding employees. The church claimed the manifesto's release could "impair or impede its ability to protect its interests and the privacy of its employees." https://justthenews.com/nation/states/center-square/24-republican-governors-commit-help-texas-defend-its-border Twenty-four Republican governors have responded to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s call for help to secure its border with Mexico. This is after at least more than 7 million people have been apprehended or reported evading capture by law enforcement since President Joe Biden’s been in office. Within the past few days, groups of tens of thousands of foreign nationals arrived in the Rio Grande Valley and in other areas of Texas, overwhelming Border Patrol agents, officials said. Abbott has already sent more than 10,000 Texas National Guard troops to the border as border communities continue to declare emergencies. The governors pledging support in addition to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is deploying troops and resources in the next 24 hours, include those of Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. They pledged their support within hours of Abbott’s request for help Tuesday afternoon. https://www.dailyfetched.com/netflix-series-which-incorrectly-featured-cleopatra-as-black-woman-gets-worst-audience-score-in-tv-history/ Netflix Series Which Incorrectly Featured Cleopatra as Black Woman Gets Worst Audience Score in TV History As The Daily Fetched reported last month, the government of Egypt has slammed Netflix for the portrayal, accusing them of falsely rating history for politics. Following the interview’s airing, Bob Huggins subsequently issued an apology for what he had said, calling it “completely insensitive and abhorrent” and promised to accept any consequences. Amidst calls for Bob Huggins to be fired, the administration in Morgantown was faced with a tough decision. The motion, filed against the Tennessee Firearms Association, and another filed against the Nashville Police Association stated that the manifesto "may include and/or relate to information owned by Covenant Church," such as "schematics of church facilities and confidential information" regarding employees. This week we are dipping our toes into the Terminator franchise and starting with the fifth installment, Terminator Genisys. This sequel had us racking our brains over the time traveling and the issues we thought were happening (we aren't time travel experts). We discussed the weird obsession with the Genisys operating system, the amazing SFX, the T-800 applying for jobs, the civilian casualties, not enough JK Simmons, and more. Watch the unedited review at sequelsonly.com/T5 The next sequel discussed is "Mortal Kombat Annihilation", which is on the Mount Rushmore of sequels that went wrong, but I bet we will find a lot that went right. This movie had a former guest Brian Thompson and next week's guest Marjean Holden. Marjean plays Sheeva in the film and discusses the lengthy audition process and why her fight scene got cut. We talked about her journey from being a P.A. on a movie while going to Arizona State to being in movies in less than a year, how she became a stuntwoman, her new passion to direct, modeling, and more.

Warning: It gets rather sweary. Craig and Chris (eventually) from Whit's The Script? are joined by Sean to discuss Terminator Genisys (2015). Is the time right for a reappraisal for the much-maligned fifth instalment in the Terminator series? Probably not, but here goes. Discussion Points: -Craig does a surprisingly good English accent. -They struggle to understand the withering criticism directed towards this instalment. -Craig has chosen this hill to die on and it has Terminator Genisys written all over it. -Expectations versus reality. -The strong pacing of the film. -The spoilers in the trailers. -Sean talks about giving films a second chance. -Chris arrives after 46 minutes and well any truly rains on Craig and Sean's Genisys-themed parade. -Sean inadvertently reveals his CD collection. Random Questions: -Does the John Connor-Terminator hybrid have a model number? -Is Sean popular enough to do 'hot takes'? -Is The Lost World (1997) better than the original? -Should they have binned John Connor and Katherine Connor (Nee Brewster) from Terminator Salvation (2009)? -Jai Courtney has won his way back into Sean's good books, but has he got into yours? -Is J.K. Simmons (Robocop) easy money? -Why couldn't they paint the tyres over the guy's face? -Do you have film quotes that you think about every now and again? -Will Sean ever give Spectre (2015) another try? -Chris wonders, was Sarah Connor needed in this film? -Does anyone ever read these notes? -Why does Sean suddenly get so sweary? -How do you say lore? Random Quotes: -"The North East, it's like Scottish people with their heeds kicked in"-Craig sums up the North East people. -"It's not unwatchable but it's pretty bloody close"-Sean is disgusted by Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). -"Expectation goes above realisation"-Craig sums up the initial reaction to sequels. -"It is very high-end CGI"-Sean actually praises some CGI. -"The first time I saw him, I thought Oh you can't act!" Sean remembers first seeing Jai Courtney in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013). -"Oh God it's bleeding in"-Sean says NIKE the American way. -"He [Sam Worthington] was totally unknown at that point...at least to me he was"-Sean really needs to get his ego in check soon. Shout-outs: -Carlo from 'The Movie Loot'. -Chatsunami and their wonderful Terminator series. Do Not Watch Recommendations: -Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). This episode is also available over at Whit's The Script?, please go over and listen to it from there (and here too please). Thanks for listening!

Dark Fate? Mit noch mehr bekannten Gesichtern? Geil! Meinen PodCast abonnieren: | direkt | iTunes | Spotify | Google |

There's no avoiding that Terminator: Dark Fate was a flop. Within two days of its release, the writing was not only on the wall, but in print. Outlets like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter pegged it to lose upward of $100 million. That projection was due, in no small part, to Dark Fate's abysmal opening—just $131 million worldwide in its premiere weekend. No amount of foresight or heroics from the future could prevent the disaster ahead. To date, it's grossed a lousy $258 million and change worldwide; that is over $180 million less than Genisys—its poorly received and reviewed predecessor (71% on Rotten Tomatoes versus 29%). For those of us that bothered to see the movie, it's a bummer. Dark Fate is not a perfect Terminator film, but it is the most worthy followup to what many would consider the franchise's pinnacle, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. And it was billed as a direct sequel to it, ignoring the other two reboots and one pseudo-sequel that had come before it. It's no small coincidence then that this movie's biggest hurdle was in righting the wrongs of its own past. Thus, even with James Cameron returning to produce (he also wrote the story) and the reinsertion of Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, who's again brilliant in the role, there was just too much baggage for it to overcome. The general public's interest in the property had been terminated. If you're reading this, though, then it's not too late. In just over a month, the film will come to home release. As I state on the pod, I'm not sure we needed this movie, but we got it; and unlike past iterations, Dark Fate is able to effectively build on the connection of Sarah Connor and the T-800 in thought provoking ways. So my gripes with it aside, it is worth seeing. Arnold, who was built to play this machine, is terrific as always. And series newbie Mackenzie Davis brings a physicality to her portrayal of Grace that rivals the ever-intimidating Hamilton.  Couple those performances with some top-tier action sequences, and you get a popcorn movie that delivers on both its promise and history. So sit back, crack open a Sticky Stout from Red Hare Brewing, and come with us if you want to live! This time, we take a look at and review Terminator: Dark Fate, the latest entry into The Terminator franchise. We'll be looking at the Terminator: Dark Fate synopsis, movie cast, the somewhat controversial John Connor death, give our own movie rating, consider exactly how many intimidating women can one film have, and is this Arnold Schwarzenegger's last Terminator film? Let's dive in! (And if you haven't already, check out our reviews of the first two films in the franchise, The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day!) **WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN TERMINATOR: DARK FATE YET** (In addition, apologies we have been behind on releasing our podcast episodes and web posts ... as Chris would say ... we've been too busy 'adulting' ... enjoy!) Terminator: Dark Fate - John Connor Death (Controversial?) Quite simply, it is quite a shock. The scene shows John Connor being found by a different T-800 and being shot several times resulting in the character's death. His mother Sarah reveals instant heartache as she was helpless to save her son. The majority of audiences probably felt that heartache too (we know we did). However, it seems some people out there aren't happy with this decision ... like, they refuse to accept it. Dani Di Placido with Forbes says that the scene "completely disregard(s) the only sequel that fans love - Terminator 2 … he was our main connection to the original films, and his death renders both of those movies pointless" (read more of his article here). Richard Trenholn with cnet.com writes "this prologue undermines Terminator 2 by killing a major character in such a cursory fashion it just feels silly." (read more of his article here). We acknowledge that some people are upset because you might say "Well what the heck was the point of the first two films!?" We get it. The first two films were all about the need for John Connor to survive. However, remember that the future with Skynet was averted at the end of Terminator 2. Okay, okay … the one small gripe we may have is the very quick and thrown-in fix of 'oh, well there was more than one terminator sent back at the same time to kill John Connor.' Let's say we buy into it though and continue. So, with the potential Skynet timeline being averted, anything can now happen. Many praise Linda Hamilton and her character in this film (we'll get to that discussion in a bit). John had to die for her character arc to evolve into what it is in Dark Fate. In addition, a sequel that is a soft reboot needs to be unique itself. We think with Connor not being the future resistance leader makes the film pretty unique from the others, don't you? All-in-all, take a deep breath everyone! Yes it's shocking, but let's embrace something new. Let there be new characters and let there be new stories. Alright … rant over. You may continue, haha! (As a side note, the scene includes the recreation of John and Sarah Connor along with an undamaged T-800 as if we were watching a Terminator 2 post-credits scene in 1991 - actually looked decent, so good job on the filmmakers part) Terminator: Dark Fate Timeline Clarifications (Confused Yet!?) Following the release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the franchise has seen some less than spectacular sequels like Rise of the Machines and the aforementioned Salvation and Genisys. The latter two were designed to be the start of their own trilogy of films, but these were critical and commercial flops. So, plans were made by producer James Cameron to make a direct sequel to the films he previously made. While this could be seen as a vain attempt to regain control of his brainchild, this actually makes the most sense as the time travel elements in Genisys were too complicated to continue on and the franchise has been plagued with inconsistency following his departure. During the events of Judgment Day, Sarah and John destroyed Cyberdyne Systems, the company that would ultimately create Skynet and ...
