It continues the narrative from the 2015 game Rise of the Tomb Raider and is the twelfth mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series. The game was originally released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Versions for macOS and Linux, and Stadia, were released in November 2019. After release, the game was expanded upon with downloadable content in both a season pass and as standalone releases. Set shortly after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures through the tropical regions of the Americas to the legendary city Paititi, battling the paramilitary organization Trinity and racing to stop a Mayan apocalypse she has unleashed. Lara must traverse the environment and combat enemies with firearms and stealth as she explores semi-open hubs. Sometimes life happens to us in ways that we could never anticipate, but we have to find ways to see the light in every situation. Today’s guest, Zach Schmitz, currently works at SC Johnson and is studying for his MBA. 2 years ago, Zach experienced a traumatic injury that shifted the course of his life forever.    In this interview, Zach shares his story, along with his recovery process and his journey to finding a new sense of normalcy. On this interview I interviewed Zach Klipsch on how to apply life lessons through sports and how to apply those lessons in the business environment.  Zach's Bio :  After tearing my ACL playing soccer in high school, I developed a passion for helping others. It was a dark phase in my life, but helped me understand pain, what it means to overcome and use that experience to my advantage. After much deliberation and research trying to figure out what I wanted to do in my life, I eventually found biomedical engineering. By this time, I had already committed to Maryville University to play soccer. This led me to pursue the dual degree program Maryville has with WashU. I was able to play 4 years of collegiate soccer, 3 as captain of the team, and obtain 2 degrees in 6 years. There were many hardships, obstacles, and challenges that I overcame and learned from. My drive to be the best I can helped me persevere. As I was nearing the end of my college career, there were 3 questions I was trying to find answers to! 1) How do I live life the way I wanted to? How do I not live a life paycheck to paycheck, week to week? 2) How can I make the largest positive impact on the world around me? 3) I miss the locker room competitiveness and camaraderie of sports. Where can I find this again? The answer was entrepreneurship. Before pursuing a master’s degree in an entrepreneurial setting, I was introduced to my current mentors and launched my first company. They taught me about personal economy, real life entrepreneurial experience, and gave me that locker room feeling I yearned for. Today’s guest joins us from Knoxville, TN. Zach Tetley is relatively new to the real estate investing business but has already figured out some of the keys to success. In today’s episode, he shares some of his story of how their business got started and what they learned along the way, as well as some steps you can take as someone first starting out to help you scale, make smarter hires, start making deals, and manage your SEO. This episode is full of actionable steps you can do today!   Key Takeaways:   [2:00] Zach has been wholesaling for a little over a year now, after coming from a background of restaurant management. He decided to move from one career into real estate investing to see what kind of opportunities there were. [4:27] Zach took a big risk giving up his career to do real estate full time. He prepared by listening to podcasts and finding guidance on YouTube and the internet. Now he’s in a place where he has a team in place that is successful. [9:30] Zach spent the first few weeks of being in this business falling down and getting right back up again. Now he has built a team, but it wasn’t always easy. They would pour their capital back into the business, and continued to build the team. [12:20] Zach talks about some of the mistakes they made at beginning of their business. One of the big ones is that they didn’t have their core values defined. The second is that they realized they weren’t making enough offers, and this is something they fixed quickly. [15:15] If you’re brand new to the business, and you’re being consistent on deals within a market, then you might be ready to hire someone to take over aspects of the job that you don’t want to have on your plate. [17:27] Working in your business and working on your business aren’t the same thing. If you want to have a business though, you have to be willing to put in the work. The first steps to take are write down every single process you have in your business, and also expectations. This will help you make smarter hires. [21:08] Once you start making money, you can start building out your business’s SEO. It is important to have a website, with original and unique content that will drive traffic to your website. [26:00] Start by doing some research on where you feel comfortable getting a website, and what the best businesses are. Get referrals from people who have what you want in their business. [30:03] Once you start getting out there and talking with sellers, you have to master negotiating. When you’re talking with potential sellers, make sure you really listen to what they’re saying and calculate your response before you give it. This allows you to ask the right questions and really figure out the seller’s motives. [34:57] In Zach’s business, they are looking to expand into the Chattanooga market, and they are getting ready to launch a company to offer their systems and training tools to other people. [39:32] One of the most important takeaways from this episode is the importance of making deals. You won’t be able to make any deals if you’re not making offers.
