It's been said this program sometimes finds itself bogged down in subject matter arcane or marginal.  Not Arcane Device or Marginal Man, mind you, though even by making those associations it seems I've validated such claims.  The primary topic of discussion on this week's show is the grave injustice in veteran character actor Steve Bent's Wiki page making zero mention of his recording career.   It's almost as though it never happened, though I can assure you, it absolutely did.  It seems unconceivable that no one is willing or interested in vandalizing (sorry, EDITING) Mr. Bent's wiki, though perhaps this is the very sort of appeal that will MOVE THE NEEDLE.

VYS0020 | Messages of Deception - Vayse to Face with Mark Pilkington - Show Notes If you don't know Mark Pilkington by name, chances are you will be familiar with some of his work: he's the author of the seminal history of deception and misinformation throughout the history of the UFO phenomenon, Mirage Men, and producer of the documentary of the same name, he runs Strange Attractor Press, the diverse, beloved and well respected counterculture publisher, he's a journalist, having written for the Fortean Times, the Guardian and Bizarre Magazine amongst others, and he also records and performs music with Teleplamsiste, Luminous Foundation and the Begotten. In this episode Hine and Buckley chat to Mark about the legacy of Mirage Men, which is having a moment again with the tenth anniversary of the documentary falling this year, the recent release of the audiobook and continued favourable nods in the occultosphere and beyond. The conversation also takes turns into the way misinformation is now a pervasive part of our everyday lives, Mark's ideas about the nature of the phenomenon itself and his experiences as a crop circle hoaxer... recorded 7 March 2023 Mark Pilkington Links Mark Pilkington on Twitter (https://twitter.com/markopilkington?s=21&t=q2-c9hjD5sIXynDdaJB8PQ) Strange Attractor Press (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/) Mirage Men (https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/mirage-men-a-journey-into-disinformation-paranoia-and-ufos-mark-pilkington/2148784?ean=9781845298579) by Mark Pilkington Mirage Men Audiobook (https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Mirage-Men-Audiobook/1405549556?ipRedirectOverride=true&overrideBaseCountry=true&bp_o=true&source_code=M2M30DFT1Bk13010142102TD&gclid=CjwKCAjw0ZiiBhBKEiwA4PT9z66tMeWzeo6Ssu-yqAzST0IYPMPRoZlsodiZxbkIIX60WGah3c4xgBoCkq8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) Mirage Men DVD (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/mirage-men-dvd/) Mirage Men on Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/miragemen) Mirage Men Blog (https://miragemen.wordpress.com/) Frequency is the New Ecstasy (https://teleplasmiste.bandcamp.com/album/frequency-is-the-new-ecstasy) by Teleplasmiste (https://teleplasmiste.bandcamp.com/album/science-religion) Other Links The Austin Osman Spare Tarot Deck (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/strangeattractoruk/austin-osman-spare-occult-tarot-deck-and-book) High Weirdness (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/high-weirdness/) by Erik Davis Purgatory (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/purgatory/) by Ken Hollings North (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/north/) by Gyrus The Pepsi-Cola Addict (http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/the-pepsi-cola-addict/) by June-Alison Gibbons David Tibet (https://www.davidtibet.com/) Current 93 (https://current931.bandcamp.com/) Jamie Sutcliffe (https://linktr.ee/jamierobertsutcliffe) An Overview of Project Serpo (https://nostradamus.fandom.com/wiki/Project_Serpo) The Haunted Objects Podcast (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLU4VP9oB7c9iKhby8HdRbwP0dF8O9eGt2) Parcast Unexplained Mysteries - UFOs and the Mirage Men pt.1 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/4heJWlPvOMTzGFKTyd2YGv?si=3f67b2e0848e48bf) Parcast Unexplained Mysteries - UFOs and the Mirage Men pt.2 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3J3QTUh16JBmu0AWaFpOuy?si=093bcf5cc85e4a2c) HyperNormalisation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thLgkQBFTPw) by Adam Curtis Wikipedia entry for John Lundberg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lundberg) Laughlin UFO Mega Conference (https://www.facebook.com/events/141005227976051/) on Facebook IMDB entry for Richard Doty (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3288913/) Wikipedia entry for Paul Bennewitz (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bennewitz) Wikipedia Entry for the Roswell Incident (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roswell_incident) Wikipedia Entry for George Adamski (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Adamski) BBC News Article about the U-2 Bomber and Area 51 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-23731759) History Channel Article on Black Triangle UFOs (https://www.history.com/news/black-triangle-ufos-facts) Wikipedia Article on Radar Spoofing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_jamming_and_deception) Popular Science Article - The stealth helicopters used in the 2011 raid on Osama Bin Laden are still cloaked in mystery (https://www.popsci.com/story/technology/osama-bin-laden-raid-anniversary-stealth-helicopters/) Wikipedia Article on Cattle Mutilation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle_mutilation) Close Encounters of the Third Kind Trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSpQ3G08k48) Wikipedia Article on the Famous Five (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Famous_Five) War of the Worlds (https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/the-war-of-the-worlds-h-g-wells/92913?ean=9780008590178)by HG Wells Dracula (https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/dracula-bram-stoker/169855?ean=9780393871555) by Bram Stoker Usborne Guide to the Supernatural World (https://www.abebooks.co.uk/9780860202929/Supernatural-World-Mysterious-Powers-Strange-0860202925/plp)by E Maple - a steal at £300 Forbidden Planet (https://forbiddenplanet.com/) Fortean Times (https://subscribe.forteantimes.com/) Magonia Journal (https://www.encyclopedia.com/science/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/magonia-journal) Bizarre Magazine on Twitter (https://twitter.com/bizarremagazine?lang=en) Mark's Far Out Column for the Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/science/series/farout) Wikipedia entry on Norman Tebbit (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Tebbit) Wikipedia entry on David Icke (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke) Circle Makers Website (http://www.circlemakers.org/) Wikipedia entry on Mandelbrot Fractals (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set) Wikipedia Article on Discordianism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordianism#:~:text=Discordianism%20is%20centered%20on%20the,objectively%20true%20than%20the%20other.) Rich and Carola have accepted the fact that the EU will probably implement their whole Green Deal before the Dithering Team finishes reviewing it. But undaunted by the extensiveness of the deal, they soldier through two policy areas which should be so much more at the heart of any green economy than the Green Deal makes them out to be: Building & Renovation, and Sustainable Mobility. However, Carola and Rich are not impressed by these two expressions of policy-oriented interventions. If the EU Green Deal is supposed to shift behaviour of member states to chose more green solutions for mobility (and area that represents 70% of green house gases), or initiate that lauded “renovation wave”, as discussed in the EU policies, these policy areas and their targets are so humble that Carola wonders if the EU really means business or if it’s caught in that ever enduring tension between sovereignty and unity. It poses the question of whether ‘politically doable’ is just not enough to save the planet. As Rich says, “We just got to get real!” The EU Green Deal covers 9 policy areas, and in the last 3 episodes, Carola and Rich covered the areas of  Clean Energy  Farm to Fork Biodiversity Sustainable Agriculture Sustainable Industry Eliminating pollution   And in this episode they cover Building and Renovation Sustainable mobility   Upcoming in the next episode is a big one: Climate action   Key Resources  European Green Deal, Wikipedia Entry - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Green_Deal  A European Green Deal. Since retirement, Michael has earned two Masters degrees in philosophy and is currently a PhD student in philosophy at the University of BirminghamThere are many examples of fans behaving badly due to their emotional attachment to their teams, and so this raises a question:  can being a committed fan be a part of a rational way of living?  Or is a genuine attachment to a professional sports team - or indeed any sort of fandom - incompatible with an intentional, virtues-oriented mode of life? The answer they provide is that it is indeed possible to be a good fan - not just "good" in terms of being devoted to a team, but in moral and ethical terms. Michael DeVito's Wikipedia Entry - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_DeVito Gregory Sadler's article "Stoicism, Sports, And Packers Fandom" - https://medium.com/stoicism-philosophy-as-a-way-of-life/stoicism-sports-and-packers-fandom-3895f9423e57 Show Music is by Scott Tarulli - https://www.scotttarulli.com/

The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface. Some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. As Sigi and Jezzie close out their final search in the pop culture vault for the month of May, Jezzie unearths how the Philippines itself rose to become a Pageant Powerhouse in the 2010s.  In this velvety and scrumptious snack about Pageants and the Philippines, Jezzie tracks the origin of pageants to the medieval ages, and it's evolution to be part of the Filipino fiesta traditions like the Santa Cruzan.  Sigi and Jezzie then explore how those fiesta sensibilities have lent themselves well to modern-day beauty pageants, and the emerging industrial beauty boot camps that have explained the Philippines success at international beauty contests during the 2010s.  In the Mix this Week: Vulture's "Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba Performs a Soundtrack for Your Summer of Longing", Yakface's reports on Amazon Delays for May Fan First Star Wars Figures, Wikipedia Entry on "Medieval Pageant", The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros Trailer (2005), Wikipedia Entry on Big Four International Beauty Pageants, MISS UNIVERSE WINNERS FROM THE PHILIPPINES COMPILATION: 1969, 1973, 2015, 2018, CNA Insiders "The Hidden Side Of Philippines Beauty Pageants", "The Game of Crowns" Playlist Full Episodes on Youtube

It seems impossible, but his book is a masterful collection of poems both traditional and experimental, both lyric and narrative, both funny and serious, both comforting and disturbing, both long and short, both contemporary and historical. Is there anything he can’t do? It would appear not, as I was wowed from the first poem--with its linguistic nod to Gerard Manley Hopkins--to the last, with its gorgeous echoes of W. S. Merwin. What is CDA Section 230, and how does it advantage social media companies to make the Internet what it is today? Why is it in the news of late, and how are some folks reading between the lines to see a distinction between publisher/platform that the text of the act would seem to disclaim? How are some Senators (like Missouri Senator Josh Hawley) seeking to change Section 230, and how do their efforts call up the echoes of previous government pushes for content "fairness"? In this eighth episode, Ben Hwang, Chairman & CEO of Profusa, provides an overview of injectable biosensors. He explains that the technology enables a model akin to getting a blood test every few seconds of our life (rather than only every few years when sick). Read the transcript He predicts that this “unlocked stream of biochemistry data” will become married to other data (e.g. our voice patterns) to provide a panoramic view of our health and wellbeing. Topics we discussed in this episode Continuous, realtime measurement of an individual’s biochemistry Injectable biosensors Biosensor components Solving the 'foreign-body response' Blood chemistries that can and can't be measured in the interstitial fluid Three stages of the sensor Achieving calibration with heterogeneity of tissue Putting multiple chemistries on one single sensor (multiplexing) Episodic measurements taken by a clinician every few years vs realtime direct measurements Changing towards a proactive (forward looking) rather than rear-view looking measurement of blood chemistry Achieving a product cost similar to the price of a Netflix subscription Empowering individuals to be able to make healthcare decisions and decisions about their wellbeing Impacting how insurance companies, healthcare providers etc. think about keeping a population or individual healthy The extent to which today's medical practitioner will remain as intermediaries The economic need to move to prevention Ambition to touch a billion people Marrying biochemical data to other data such as voice (tones, word pattern), pollen count, activity level etc. Being able to predict and monitor many more biomarkers than the ones we actually have to measure Forthcoming CE and FDA approval Multiyear measurement of glucose in realtime The majority of the population will one day have implantable biosensors for continuous long-term monitoring of blood chemistries Show links Profusa Website 'Fluid compartments' Wikipedia Entry 'Foreign body granuloma' Wikipedia Entry Bloodcalculator.com Website

On a recent flight from Seattle to Dallas, I had the honor of sitting next to Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Col. Bruce P. Crandell. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions as a pilot during the Battle of Ia Drang on November 14, 1965 in South Vietnam. During the battle, he flew 22 missions in an unarmed helicopter into enemy fire to evacuate more than 70 wounded and bring ammunition and supplies to US forces. This event was later documented in the movie "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson in 2002.  Crandell was portrayed by actor Greg Kinnear in the film. Over the next 3.5 hours I got to hear his stories first hand about life, heroism and leadership. I am sharing my insights with you in this 4 part series entitled "Interview with a Real Warrior." Today's show is the second half of a conversation (for the first 1/2, click HERE) recorded over a couple days last month, on 4/20 and Earth Day with Zoe Helene. Zoe is the founder of Cosmic Sister, which is dedicated to recognizing and elevating feminist voices in the growing Psychedelic Renaissance, and to supporting visionary women in the exploding world of Cannabis business and studies. Zoe is also the wife and partner of ethnobotanist and writer Chris Kilham, and is the manager of the web presence for his site The Medicine Hunter, and has accompanied Chris on many trips to the Amazon and elsewhere, looking for healing plants and soul-transforming experiences. Zoe is an artist, writer, journalist, and visionary explorer in her own right. She has been featured in Boston Magazine, Forbes, Boston Globe, AlterNet, Chicago Tribune, Newsday, MIT Technology Review, Utne Reader and Fast Company. You don't need some Shaman telling you you're special. If that shaman is telling you you're "special," run. Go Run. Friends don't let friends sleep with Shamans.     --Zoe Helene In this portion of the conversation, Jonathan and Zoe discuss the power of psychedelics to break through cultural programming, how old plays can show us how far we've come (and how little has changed) in society, and Zoe discusses how young people can stay safe when travelling in the Amazon, and ways to navigate the dangers of sexual violence in ceremonial spaces. Here’s a brief overview of What I’m Reading: Currently, I’m reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.  I remember having to read this, along with Stephen Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” in undergrad and I honestly don’t remember a thing from either book.  My memory recalls fervently reading each of these texts before an exam, and then quickly forgetting anything I’d learn. So this time, as I read “How to Win Friends…”, it’s almost as if I never read it before.  I first started by checking out it’s Wikipedia Entry, but nothing about that helped job my memory, so I ended up getting the audiobook from my local library.  As I’ve travelled from place to place this past weekend, I’ve had ample time to listen to the text, and I’m finding it to be quite informative. I’m sure this book is considered to be “a classic”, and it definitely has some information that I think many of us are glossing over in this day and age of “social media”, where everyone’s interested in “transparency” and “open-ness” to the point where they’ve forgotten some of the basic tenets of civility, respect, and friendliness towards their fellow man.I think this book is providing a great “refresher course” on being amicable, of course, I’m not quite at the “how to influence people” part yet, but I’m eager to get to that, so that I can see how it compares with Robert Greene’s “48 Laws of Power”.So, that’s What I’m Reading.  If you ever happen to read this book, let me know what you think.  Have a Blessed Day!Kindra Please feel free to leave comments below or give me your feedback directly, either by email “podcasts @ exclusivemultiplicity.com”, or by finding me on Facebook, Twitter (@KindraCotton), or LinkedIn.  You can also contact me via Skype at my name Kindra.Cotton, and you can now call me on my Google Voice line at: (201) 870-0234.  If you leave a message on my Google Voicemail line, please be sure to mention which podcast you listened to.  Click media player below to listen to this podcast.  If the player above isn't displaying, or working properly, you can also download the podcast from iTunes for free (it may take a few days for it to appear at this link, but you can subscribe directly to the podcast feed via iTunes if you want to always get new podcast episodes when they're first uploaded)!

First off, may I just say that Stacey King is a giant? Look at how big he is compared to little ole' me. I would not want to meet him in the paint. King is well-known to Chicago sports fans. He was a role player during the Chicago Bulls first championship run in the early 90s.
