We are sad to announce that Bro Larry Thomas passed away on December 16th 2023 . Our hearts are sad, but we rejoice that he has made his journey to the place he has preached about for 60 plus years. Please keep his family in your prayers. He was the Pastor of Spaulding Road Church of God for 54 years before his retirement. He had a true servant's heart. He loved people and never met a stranger. He went above and beyond his calling as a shepherd to care for his sheep. He was there for them through marriages, births, and even death. He would travel near and far for his congregation when he was able. He always had a word of encouragement to lift you up when needed, shared the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone he came in contact with. His radio broadcast ministry touched many people all over the world. He loved going on visitations with his buddy, Larry Madison to see shut-ins and minister to them in word and song. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, fishing, going out to eat with his family. He will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever. His famous words to us all……LOVE YOU MUCH. And we can't forget that Thomas look he would give us all at some point or another.

Comment on our YouTube channel or send us an email, scott@lostscifi.com. Theodore Sturgeon was born Edward Hamilton Waldo in Staten Island, New York, in 1918. His name was legally changed to Theodore Sturgeon at age eleven after his mother's divorce and subsequent marriage. Sturgeon's 1953 science fiction novel More Than Human won the 1954 International Fantasy Award as the year's best novel, and the Science Fiction Writers of America ranked "Baby Is Three" number five among the "Greatest Science Fiction Novellas of All Time" up to 1964. Ranked by votes for all of their pre-1965 novellas, Sturgeon was second among authors, behind only Robert Heinlein. He was good and he was prolific! He wrote almost 200 short stories and the screenplays for two Star Trek episodes, and two of his stories were adapted for The New Twilight Zone. Today's story by Sturgeon was in Thrilling Wonder Stories Magazine in June 1947 and can be found on page 55, The Sky Was Full of Ships by Theodore Sturgeon… Support the show - https://www.buymeacoffee.com/scottsV Merch - https://lostscifi.creator-spring.com/ Sign up for our newsletterhttps://dashboard.mailerlite.com/forms/266431/102592606683269000/share https://twitter.com/lost_sci_fi Next Week on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, Larry Thomas bought a cuckoo clock for his wife—without knowing the price he would have to pay. Her body was discovered at the edge of a wooded area in Austell after firefighters responded to a brush fire at the location. The fire was consuming a vehicle, which was later linked to Couch. Austell police investigating her vehicle's registration found that Couch, the primary user, had been missing since the previous day. Owned by Saint Joseph Catholic Church since 1952, the house has historical significance, including its use as a field hospital during the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain in the Civil War. The archbishop of Atlanta has recommended its demolition due to extensive freeze-related damage, asbestos, and lead paint. Cobb Landmarks aims for a compromise, preserving the central stone structure while allowing the newer wings to be demolished. Efforts to find a solution are ongoing as the church and preservationists discuss the matter.   STORY 5: river   A recent report from the National Park Service reveals that the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area had a substantial economic impact of over $175 million and supported over 2,300 jobs in 2022. With 3,537,848 visitors spending $176,660,000 in communities around the park, the local economy benefited by $259,566,000. The study also found that the cumulative economic impact of direct spending by park visitors nationwide was $50.3 billion, supporting 378,400 jobs, with the lodging and restaurant sectors contributing significantly to the economic output. This highlights the importance of national parks in driving tourism and stimulating local economies.   Story 6: billions   As a sales tax referendum for transit expansion in Cobb County approaches, two potential options have emerged. The first option proposes a $4.5 billion tax over 30 years, aiming to develop a high-capacity transit system covering 108 miles of routes, including bus rapid transit and arterial rapid transit. This plan would focus on creating a robust transit network over the first decade, with the remaining 20 years allocated for maintenance and operation. The second option suggests a more limited $3.4 billion tax over 20 years, concentrating on a core network of high-capacity routes. Both options emphasize bus rapid transit and arterial rapid transit to enhance connectivity and mobility within the county.   We'll be back in a moment   Break: Powers – elon - CUofGA   Story 7: teal   Hunter Teal of Walton High School is a pivotal player in the Raiders' offense, contributing significantly as a tight end. In the previous season, the team amassed over 3,700 passing yards, with Teal accounting for more than a quarter of those yards. He led the team with 970 receiving yards and four touchdowns. His exceptional performance led him to commit to Miami (Ohio) for college. Teal's connection with the school's campus and atmosphere influenced his decision. Despite his receiving prowess, Teal values his role as a blocker and aims to contribute more in the run game this year.   Story 8: Phillips   Dwight Phillips Jr. of Pebblebrook High School possesses remarkable speed combined with agility, a trait inherited from his father, Dwight Phillips Sr., a former Olympic Gold medalist in long jump and world champion. Phillips Jr. is renowned as one of the fastest high school athletes in the country, with impressive times of 10.24 seconds in the 100-meter sprint and a 4.28-second 40-yard dash. Guided by his father's expertise in mechanics and form, Phillips aims to refine his speed further and reach the upper echelons of track and field. As a four-star recruit, he is ranked eighth among running backs and 93rd nationally in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.   Story 9: lee   Elijah Lee, a versatile athlete for North Cobb High School, is prepared to continue impacting both offense and defense in the upcoming 2023 season. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 170 pounds, Lee excels as a defensive back and wide receiver hybrid. Despite focusing on defense in college, he initially started as a receiver but embraced playing both positions due to his exceptional ability. His dual-role playstyle and unique skills, particularly his capacity to excel in man-to-man coverage and deliver hits, set him apart. As a leader for his senior year, Lee aims to contribute to his team's success on both sides of the ball. He has committed to Coastal Carolina and appreciates the family-oriented environment and strong interest from the program. Looking ahead, Lee aims to enhance his technique, athleticism, and physicality.       …Back with final thoughts after   Break: JRM - Henssler 60 Signoff- Thanks again for hanging out with us on today's Marietta Daily Journal podcast. Winning at home: “Relationships on the Rocks”   “It is crucial to realize that your ability to form strong and loving bonds can betray you if you do not intentionally pace a relationship.” ― John Van Epp   Relationships can be built wrong from the start - it becomes a balancing act to analyze and reconstruct them; most relationships are not built for turbulence but experience it regularly. Strong relationships don't just happened they are made, designed and built on purpose.   Healthy relationships can be constructed through teaching, therapy, and biblical instructions unhealthy relationships can be repaired and made strong by the some processes.   Matthew 7: 24 - 27 (NIV) “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” The metaphoric use of house means life and significant things must be stabilized… We are responsible for how we develop relationships. We have to respect the developmental order of relationship building to have better relationships with strong foundations that come withstand challenges to provide support in tough times. There are four components to building better relationships, Three are for every relationship. The 4th one in particular, is for married people: Know, Trust, Commit, Touch Know-bonding with someone and getting to know them (ask questions see them angry) The more you know, the better you can begin to Trust (Reliance) Commitment - is not just the promises you make; it's also how you are prepared to make the other person a priority. Through a level of engagement communicate, compromise, Touch- Head and heart intimacy / Physical intimacy a strong contributor to the feelings of intimacy and closeness in any romantic relationship. Week Two: August 14,2022 Title: Word to the Wise! “Word to the wise” - is used to say that one is about to give someone advice or a warning. Proverbs provides both advice and warning. “Wise people learn when they can; fools learn when they must.” - Duke of Wellington Biblical wisdom is about character development and Spiritual maturating. Wisdom is the process of learning and gaining understanding, coupled with knowing when and how to use what you know. Being able to put situations in perspective, be solution oriented, trust God, and share it with others is a sign of wisdom. Being wise means being teachable and open to change. What wisdom wants us to BE!   BE Faithful & Committed to Wisdom: Proverbs 4: 4 – 7 (NIV) 4 Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live.5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. 6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. 7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Getwisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.   The Proverb begins by explaining the importance of valuing and attaining wisdom. The end repeats instructions to be committed to wisdom and how to apply it to our lives.   Proverbs 4: 20 – 23 (NIV) 20 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. BE Mindful   Proverbs 4:24 (NIV) 24 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. BE Quite!   Proverbs 4:25 (NIV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. BE focused!   Proverbs 4: 26 (NIV) 26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. BE Strategic!   Proverbs 4:27 (NIV) 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.  BE Careful!   Let's apply Wisdom and BE Wise!!!

Week ONE: 08/07/22 Title: Proverbs the Way of the Wise Bible: Proverbs 1:1 – 7, Proverbs 3:13 – 20    “Knowledge comes from learning. Wisdom comes from living.” Anthony Douglas Williams   Proverbs 1:1 – 7 (NLT) These are the proverbs of Solomon, David's son, king of Israel. 2 Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. 3 Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. 4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young. 5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance 6 by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles. 7 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.   “Fear of the Lord enables you to fight your Fool”   Proverbs 3:13 – 20 (NLT) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.   Proverbs as part of Wisdom literature - is prescriptive and descriptive content that has instructions and incentives, addressing the conditions of our hearts, minds, and motives; providing applicable understanding on how to live, behave, and how-to respond to life's circumstances. Seeking Wisdom is acknowledging that you don't know something and have a willingness to be teachable. Wisdom adds value, long life and is gift from God!   Now you know...The wisdom of God's instructions has major benefits for life. It's practical, reasonable, and right.   How can this change You? Godly wisdom helps you make better choices and deepens our commitment to trust God beyond feelings, fear, and past failures. (Grow in faith and maturity)   What do I do now? Wisdom is applied knowledge - Apply the teaching and instructions of scripture. Pray for more wisdom and better understanding.   Trust the COMPASS...

Many consider “Seinfeld” to be the all-time greatest American sitcom in television history. It is our #1 favorite show and in our opinions nothing else comes close. It's the “show about nothing” which was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. Nine-seasons of 180 episodes filled with hysterical humor originally aired on NBC from 1989 to 1998 and has since become one of the highest grossing television series in TV history with record-setting streaming deals on Hulu and Netflix, and re-run royalties on basic cable stations that are proving to last forever now several decades later. On the sixth episode of the seventh season titled the “The Soup Nazi” the character Yev Kassem, played by actor Larry Thomas had the acting performance of a lifetime and the perfectly-uttered, world-renown, strict-command “NO SOUP FOR YOU!” when yelling at his soup-stand-patrons. This four-word-phrase “No Soup For You” is one of the most popular known comedic sayings in show-business and around the world. People all over, who have never seen a single episode of the show Seinfeld can be heard jokingly saying Larry Thomas' famous four words to friends. That's how legendary Larry Thomas' character “The Soup Nazi” was in one single episode in 1995. In fact, his performance as “The Soup Nazi” was so incredible he was nominated in 1996 for a Primetime Emmy Award for Most Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Larry has been in Super Bowl commercials, guest appeared in Arrested Development and Scrubs, He's been acting for over thirty-five years and has utilized his famous soup role to promote soup kitchens for the homeless. This legendary actor, Larry Thomas graces us with his presence on this fun-filled podcast interview where we talk about soup (of course haha), Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Larry Tomas' early years growing up in Brooklyn, New York, his acting career, what led him to this iconic role, and how these famous four words have changed his life forever. Enjoy this classic, comedic-conversation with one of our all-time Hollywood acting favorites, The Soup Nazi, himself!--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thebrothersbrandt/support

This week: the Nude Clan boys discuss the film Postal (2007), based on the video game of the same name!   Wikipedia:   Postal is a 2007 American–German action comedy film co-written and directed by Uwe Boll, and starring Zack Ward, Dave Foley, Chris Coppola, Jackie Tohn, J.K. Simmons, Verne Troyer, Larry Thomas, David Huddleston and Seymour Cassel. Like the majority of Boll's previous films, Postal is a film adaptation of a video game, in this case, Postal, though this film draws more heavily from the video game's sequel, Postal 2. Also like Boll's predecessors, it was a critical and commercial failure, grossing less than 1% of its budget.   #UweBoll #Postal #Review   -------------------------------------   LINKS   Thanks for your support! Today’s program considers how poetry may serve to identify, comment on, and transcend the varied restrictions placed on us as we work to sustain a civil society and our places in it. Not all of those restrictions are acceptable or palatable. Some of them – beyond the impositions of power, especially political power, that I talked about last time – are quite painful, and the reactions of poets to them are often epiphanic in their lyric expressions. I read poems by Frank O’Hara, Lithuanian poet Marcelijus Martinaitis, Larry Thomas, and Nitoo Das. I end the program with two of my own poems that comment as well on the press of such limitations.

Today's Guest: Larry Thomas, actor, "The Soup Nazi" on "Seinfeld" Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) runs from an encounter with the Soup Nazi (Larry Thomas) on a classic episode of "Seinfeld." (UPDATED JULY 5, 2015: When I discovered the original audio player for this interview with actor Larry Thomas no longer played correctly, I went digging in my audio archives, found the original from June 8, 2007 and upgraded the entire track. But it sounded a little funky. I looked again and there was a SECOND interview with Thomas from two weeks later, June 22, 2007. Then I hit me -- the audio recording the first time was terrible and Larry kindly agreed to a do-over. But with improvements in technology, I unintentionally rescued the first interview. You can now hear both; the first is Mr. Media Episode #32, from June 8, 2007, and the second, Mr. Media Episode #33, from June 22, 2007. And thanks again to Larry Thomas for being such a good sport -- and one of Mr. Media's first podcast interview guests!) Larry Thomas is known by that iconic character but sometimes it’s about being in the right place at the right time. He got the call to play the part about 7:30 at night and came up with his character in the early morning hours. And over the course of those few hours he created a character so memorable it led to an Emmy, an iconic catch phrase and a product line of, you guessed it, soups. Larry shares his thoughts on the NACS Show, explains how soup can sell in a c-store, and provides a behind-the-scenes account of his time working with the stars of the hit TV show, Seinfeld. Co-hosts Stephanie Sikorski, Director, NACS Foundation and Mission Marketing; and   Nat Keller, NACS Director of Marketing talk to Larry about foodservice in the convenience channel with the debut of his new soup line, growing up in an entrepreneurial household, and—of course—what it’s like to have been a part of a show that revolutionized American pop culture.

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview The Seinfeld Soupman Larry Thomas of The Original Soupman.  Meet The Seinfeld Soupman, who coined the phrase “No Soup For You” on the famous Seinfeld episode Larry is an actor most recognized for his Emmy-nominated performance as “the Soup Nazi” from Seinfeld. Larry has been an actor for thirty-five years and is a veteran of many television shows, films, and hundreds of theater performances. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Larry has been many things, including bail bondsman, bartender, and brain surgeon. (Well, not really brain surgeon, but it rounded out the three Bs. Actually, you can add janitor to that list, just as important in some circles—let's face it.) As a father, Larry is grateful for his family and career. Today, the Soupman legend lives on, but you can be as sweet or as crabby as you like because the soup is on YOUR stove, now. Find our 6 packs and 12-packs of small-batch, super fresh soups from The Original Soupman.  Each of the soups are still made with the craft and relentless pursuit of excellence that defines perfectionism and creates legends. From our Lobster Bisque and Shrimp Jambalaya, to Chicken Gumbo, classic Chicken Noodle, Crab and Corn Chowder, we have a range of soups for all tastes, including our gluten free lentil soup. Whether for lunch or dinner, with family or when in a hurry, we – contrary to the slogan – have a wide range of soups for you. No one can love Gluten Free Lentil Soup without wondering “Shouldn't all lentil soup be gluten free?” This humble classic – with The Original Soupman's most excellent touch – is so good you'll want to have a bowl every day! No kidding. But you can't, because The Soupman also makes Chicken Noodle and Chicken Gumbo.
