Although born in India, I spent most of my childhood living on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. While attending Rutgers University in New Jersey, I discovered a passion for dentistry and had the pleasure of shadowing a practice that supported me as I pursued my interests within the field. With degrees in Communication and Biology, I quickly realized that my favorite projects involved working on marketing campaigns that connected with patients. Seizing opportunities to get the team involved and motivated added a new layer to the positive patient experience, and that felt right. My projects produced results, so the practice owners encouraged me to attend conferences and workshops, and also allowed me to pursue an education in my own ways, such as through podcasts and webinars. It wasn't long before I became a dental marketing consultant, and in 2013, I launched my company, Growth Management Marketing LLC, so that I could share my knowledge and experience with dental practices looking to achieve their business dreams. The company's launch was met with a record-breaking event! With 1,530 participants, we broke the Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous mouthwash swishers at one time. This event, Swish Away Breast Cancer, not only raised awareness for breast cancer and oral hygiene but successfully utilized community, digital and social media marketing strategies and solidified my career path as a marketing consultant.

John Lamerton is a self-confessed "lazy" entrepreneur and investor. He doesn't like working harder than he needs to, yet he used to work 100+ hours per week, and saw pulling all-nighters as a badge of honour - something to be proud of. His lightbulb moment came whilst sat in an MOT garage just after the birth of his first child, when he realised that the business he was building may well give him a huge pile of cash, but it wouldn't give him the LIFESTYLE that he truly wanted - to be there to see his kids growing up. John went home that day, and tore down his empire. He stood on the ruins of the massive corporation he was building, and laid the foundations for what would come to define him - as a builder of "Ambitious Lifestyle Businesses". True to this "lifestyle business" ambitions, John massively reduced the hours he was working, from more than a hundred per week, to around twenty per week. And yet, by applying the principles that John talks about in his book "Big Ideas... for Small Businesses", he saw his income RISE despite working less hours.
